- Magali (8/5): Parfait - Tout était parfait, personnel accueillant, cadre agréable et calme, plusieurs piscines, et le restaurant est très bon. Il est situé en retrait d'une route circulante que l'on n'entend pas du tout, et sur laquelle se trouve plein de restaurants. On a trouvé aussi un loueur de scooters a prix raisonnable à quelques minutes de marche. Le petit-déjeuner est correct. Les chambres sont spacieuses, et de l'eau potable a volonté sous forme d'une fontaine en libre service. Centre de massage à prix raisonnable et très agréable. Restaurant un peu lent et un peu cher comparé aux restaurants alentours. Pas de buffet pour le petit-déjeuner, on choisi une formule.

Ook het dansoptreden (Balinese tradionele dans bij diner) was leuk om mee te maken. Ook een paar leuke (en goedkope) restaurants in de buurt. -

Nous nous sommes régalés. Centre de massage sur place + pédicure et manucure à des prix très raisonnables. J’ai adoré mes 2 massages. Centre de plongée sur place . Bien pratique. Personnel plus qu’adorable !!!! On aimerait tellement avoir ce sens de l’accueil en France (bien que cela arrive quand même de temps en temps 😉) Un ou 2 crochets en + dans la chambre afin de faire sécher les serviettes serait pratique. La seule offre du centre de plongée est une journée entière autour de l’île de Menjangan. Plusieurs sites de plongée tout autour de l’île qui est à 40 minutes de bateau, puis plongée le matin, déjeuner sur l’ile ( moment très chouette car plein de biches et cerfs en liberté sur cette île) et plongée l’apres midi.Donc si vous restez 4 jours pour plonger , comme c’était notre cas, vous devez refaire tous les jours le même parcours et forcément faire 2 plongées ( et payer 1 million 800 000 roupies la journée). Mais pour 1 ou 2 jours, c’est parfait. Vous pouvez aussi faire journée snorkling qui est 2 fois moins chère. La ville est le long d’ une route et il n’est pas très facile de marcher le long de cette route.
- Gerrit (6/5): Passables kleines Resort mit Pool ohne zusätzliche Annehmlichkeiten - Kleines Resort mit 2 Pools, wir waren im Neubauteil von Juni 2025. Zimmer sauber, bequeme Betten, sonst einfache Ausstattung, zweckmäßig, kein Kühlschrank. Einziger Luxus war eine große Bank vor dem Zimmer. In dem neuen Teil der Anlage sind 2x4 Zimmer nebeneinander angeordnet, dazwischen ein Pool. Es fehlt so etwas, dass man sich richtig wohl fühlt. Empfang war sehr unfreundlich, alle weiteren Kontakte waren sehr freundlich. Inklusives Frühstück relativ sparsam, aber liebevoll mit Namen angerichtet. Siehe oben

Great on-site pool and dive center for arranging trips to Menjangan Island. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Wonderful value (full-board option) Air-conditioning in our room seemed to be going out on the last day of our stay, but I doubt that happens often.

- K (8/5): Very good - Staff were friendly. Great pool. Nice restaurant. Massage was good. There isn't much to do in the area, it's a long drive from the airport and it's too remote for Grab and Gojek. We were lucky enough to befriend a local driver who we could call on.
- Safira (10/5): Great stay in Pemuteran! - We stayed at the newer building which was located +/- 1mins walk from the original/main building, but still within the same vicinity. The overall room was great & spacious, they paid so much attention to little details such as preparing 'welcoming flowers' on the bed with our names on it. The amenities were sufficient, they provided electric kettle, coffee & tea, with some complimentary fresh fruits. The highlights of our stay: 1) the pools (they have 2 in each areas), 2) the breakfast & overall menu at the restaurant, 3) very friendly staff. Overall great stay! Since we stayed on the new building, we had to walked to & from the restaurant for breakfast or any other meals. It was fine as we got to pass some local houses on the way, but could be slightly uncomfortable when it was raining (which was quite often throughout our stay). Also since they provided no phone from the room, if we need something or if there is somekind of emergency, it wouldn't be that easy to reach the front office or any other staff, for assistance/help.

Bathroom always had a strong smell of the food they were cooking. Sheets didn't fit the mattress and the pool had to much chlorine. Not major things but areas to improve on.

And they looked like a group of friends working together in disorder. They can cooking and presentation of food better than they did it. Prices were high and they even added a 3% charge for paying by card. We thought it was abusive. The mosquito nets on the bed were worn out and need to be replaced.

- Emily (10/5): Beautiful place to stay for a family - This is a gem of a place, we enjoyed our stay here so much we didn’t want to leave. The room was very clean, and quad room was perfectly functional for our family of four. Good hot water, air con and wifi. Lots of little extras too made our stay special. Kids loved the pool, and included breakfast was delicious and generous amount. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Housekeeping noticed that our shower drain was backed up and it was fixed straight away, we didn’t even have time to ask. Gardens were beautiful in true Bali fashion. It was a hot but easy 15 min walk to Pemeturan Beach, but to stay at the beach costs much more. Close to a number of warungs/restaurants.

There’s a spa, with lovely ladies, a swimming pool and a tour desk (that isn’t always open). Staff is really nice, they always know what family/room you are from, you are welcomed with a welcome drink, as well as with your name on the lawn, and on your plate at breakfast. The swimming pool is nice, although there is almost no shade in the area and it can smell really bad at the neignbours.

Snorkelling trip to the island was a great experience - a gentle float over recovering coral surrounded by the best fish I have ever seen (and this includes the Great Barrier Reef). The trip back in a high wind was not so gentle. Permuteran is not a shopping destination but has good restaurants, dive centres galore and a friendly atmosphere.
- Vicky (6/5): - Was promised a massage which I never got. No service at pool for drinks. Nice pool but no chairs or sun beds to use. We came here thinking it was going to be so nice but we were very disappointed. Room was nice, staff was nice. I asked about my massage when leaving so I was quickly put in a room and got all of a 10 minute back rub. I would not recommend this place for the price paid.
- Lynda (6/5): Lovely staff, set in glorious gardens, basic rooms - The setting is tropical Balinese, lots of greenery and flowers. Very quiet, safe and clean. Outdoor bathroom, sounds quaint, but in truth the shower is a bit brutal, like being assaulted by an angry garden hose, one strong stream of water only, no dispersal. Small pool, adequate privacy. Food a bit ordinary here but lots of good cheap warungs outside. This hotel is NOT on the beach side of the road. One should be wary of the word Eco as often it only seems to translate to 'less of' rather than any REAL commitment to the health of the planet. Eco here seems to mean no TV (wonderful!) but also no kettle for tea and coffee and no fridge. They do provide thermos flasks of boiling water so you could make your own in your room, but you had to go to the kitchen and request same. Privacy is an issue in some rooms, but not all, depending on wall between units in some and not others, and proximity of walkway in some.
- Madeleine (10/5): Welcoming and comfortable - My friend and I had a lovely time at Kubuku. Permuteran is a great destination often missed by tourists, but has a unique black sand beach, friendly locals and great snorkelling. We thought all the staff at Kubuku were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. It felt likea family. The rooms are lovely, and the private outdoor bathroom is beautiful ( though perhaps not for everyone). I also must highly recommend the food. Best we've had in Bali and very cheap. Everything is fresh and organic. We did quite a lot of activities. Snorkelling trip to Menjangan island is a must. The cooking class was also lots of fun. I'd recommend d using a spa down te road which would be nicer and cheaper. The morning yoga was also nice but not the best I've had. Kubuku is a budget friendly hostel with exceptional service and te best food we've had in Bali. Highly recommended!
