• Dr. Karsten (10/5): Eine gute Alternative zum Stadthotel in Bilbao - Wir waren 3 Nächte in der schönen, sehr geschmackvoll gestaltete Unterkunft, in der wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Große Zimmer mit großen Betten, in denen wir gut geschlafen haben. Tolles Frühstück, ist auf jeden Fall sehr zu empfehlen. Nach Bilbao mit dem Auto ist es 20 Minuten, mit dem regelmäßig verkehrenden Bus nur 40 Minuten. Kostenlose Parkplätze und ein EV-Charger, der gerade defekt war. Wir würden das kleine Hotel mit den wenigen Zimmern für einen Bilbao-Brsuch wieder nutzen.

• Stephen (10/5): - Greetings on our arrival were very good, the owner thankfully speaks excellent English. She was also very clear on instructions for us to find our way around a strange city, and her tip about using the "Funikular" to access Bilbao and the Guggenheim was spot on! Free parking, and casual walking to the city centre. Breakfast was very good, and I got the scrambled eggs that I wanted (perfectly cooked). The only downside was no facilities for making hot drinks (tea/coffee/chocolate) in the room. The interior finish of the Casa Rural Errota Barri is to a very high standard.
• james (10/5): Designer style at a fair price - Great innkeeper and breakfast. Extremely tastefully decorated rooms and common areas and not to far from action in Bilbao. Only caution is the rooms don’t have air conditioning and there were no screens to keep out bugs at night and we experienced a heat wave in early October - a portable fan made sleeping bearable but certainly not ideal for Americans who are used to cool air conditioning at night.

• Robert (10/5): Relaxing Stay in a Beautiful Property - A beautiful property in a quiet but central location, within 20/25 minutes of Central Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum and the Coast. The room was superb with a Balcony and views to the Mountains. The breakfast was very good with freshly prepared bread, pastries and freshly sqeezed orange juice. Lourdes the host was so lovely and couldn't do enough to make our stay so wonderful. Highly Recommended for a relaxing stay in the region.

• Alexander (10/5): Jättetrevlig hotell utanför Bilbao - Rent och snyggt litet hotell med sköna sängar och supergod frukost med hemlagade bröd och sötsaker.Värdinnan är jättetrevlig och hjälpsam och pratar bra engelska. Ända nackdelen är att det saknas restauranger i närheten så man behöver köra iväg när man vill äta middag, men på hotellet i sig finns det inget att klaga på. Rekommenderas varmt!

It’s a lovely area surrounding and very green and lush. You would def need a car to get to as it’s away from surbubia.

• kenneth (10/5): Lovely place. - This posada is right out in the coutryside, but only 20 minutes into the city of Bilbao. We stayed three nights here. The house is kept in a bautifully rural and artistic way. But it is also very relaxed. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and speaks very good English. We enjoyed the breakfast with many home-made elements. Fresh fruit, ham, cheese, fruit juice, etc, etc, Worth every cent. A kette was in the room for making drinks and you could also use the kitchen downstairs for making sandwiches free of charge, or cooking for a small charge. Our room was spacious, with a good bathroom and a lovely view. We would stay again without hesitation.
• david (10/5): The perfect place - Lourdes, our hostess, could not be faulted, friendly and obliging with an excellent local knowledge. The room was large and spotless. The area is captivating and a joy to explore. Local restaurants were plenty and too inviting for our waistlines. Don't use a satnav as it will take you onto a track involving boulders and scratchy trees. The views are magnificent .....If you want to chill out, this is the place...Thanks so much Lourdes....we will be back

• pierre (10/5): THE place to stay near Bilbao - Thie is a perfect place. Cleanliness is impeccable, the owner treats you as you were family. The place is close to main attractions (beaches, large town) It's a 10 for everything. Even the little dogs will walk you from your car to the entrance. Hurry to make your reservation. You can use a large common area.

Our host went out of her way to be helpful and provide any extras we needed. The breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of cold food and cereals. Good coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. We would definitely stay again if flying into Bilbao Also the house was decorated and furnished in a chic contemporary style which we found attractive.

• Steven (10/5): Very nice rural retreat near Bilbao - A great place to stay between Bilbao and the Basque coast. Very well appointed modern rooms, good breakfast and a very friendly multilingual host. You need a car to get to it and have to drive down a short dirt road with some potholes but that was worth it for the quiet, calm and countryside. It's easy to find if you take the BI631 Bilbao-Bermeo road and turn off at the Markaida signpost shortly after passing the Mungia roundabout. It's about 25 minutes drive to Bilbao and you can park for free at top station of funicular which takes you very close to the city centre, Guggenheim etc. for less than one Euro. Not a lot of good eating places in the immediate vicinity so best to eat in Bilbao with it's many excellent restaurants and Pintxos bars...
• Paul (10/5): Highly recommended - Very welcoming multi-lingual hostess. Very relaxing stay - continental breakfast is from 9-11. Could be a bit tricky to find if you arrived at night. Very quiet yet only 15 minutes drive from Bilbao airport.
• Stephen (10/5): tranquil - I stayed at Errota-Barri for one night, my last night of a month-long trip to Spain. I chose the location because it was rural, close to the beach towns of Bakio and Mundaka, and close to the Bilbao Airport (about 20 minutes). There are excellent hikes nearby (including Mount Jata). The casa rural is very quiet and tranquil. It was renovated in 2009 and is beautifully decorated, balancing modern and rustic (without being kitchy). There is an asador a short walk away that I highly recommend as well (Asador Aurrekoetxe). The proprietor of Errota-Barri was very helpful and welcoming. The place is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
• Richard (10/5): Only one night, wish it was longer. - A wonderful welcome from the owner, Lourdes, was followed up by the most comfortable bed in a massive bedroom. The hotel is small and individual, set in some beautiful countryside. A short drive from Mungia and a bit further to Bilbao, ideal for exploring the area. Great breakfast with a good choice of fruit, cold meats, breads and freshly squeezed orange juice.

• Pen (8/5): Lovely Casa Rural with very helpful owner. - We enjoyed a very laid back stay in this hotel, our accomodation was spacious and spotless with good views of the surrounding countryside. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The owner kindly lent us a local guide book and suggested places we might enjoy visiting. However, the local council needs to get it's act together, we found the hotel by accident as the road signs are confusing at best and the road approaching the property is full of deep potholes - we fully understand these are not the owner's responsibility, but they could make guests reluctant to venture out in the evening as they are difficult to avoid in the dark.

Very nice breakfast but no other meals provided and no local restaurants open in early September. Badly potholed road for last half kilometre.
• Niels (10/5): UpScale hideaway in natural surroundings - A bit difficult to find out in the countryside ....they need better obvious signs, but well worth finding if you like the quiet of nature and being 22 km from the city. Beautiful renovated old building with all the modern conveniences, good wifi, great large open sitting areas, and the most comfortable memory foam beds. Our hostess was very informative with suggestions for touring Bilbao and the surrounding area. Nice to have a hot water carafe for tea in the room and a small refrigerator and you can bring your own snacks and breakfast. Thought breakfast was a bit pricey but adequate. Would love to visit again!
