- David (9/5): - A well run family hotel, with a personal touch , in the centre of Aberdaron. A quiet relaxing break just what we wanted, with lots to do in the area, like visiting and swimming at Whistling sands beach, and near by National trust gardens. Alun the owner of the hotel showed exceptional hospitality and all the staff were friendly.

- Peter (10/5): We will return to the Ship Inn as we enjoyed it so much. - To be honest, we couldn't fault the hotel. Our room was clean and well furnished, and the view over the bay from the bedroom was superb.
The food was of a really good standard, and the restaurant was well run. "Captain" Alun, and his team of staff were all focused on giving their guests the best possible stay. Nothing.
- Charlotte (10/5): - Al and Ang were incredible hosts. We were on a work trip but felt right at home.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent value stay lovely rooms lovely host. - Lovely clean cosy room, very spacious lovely bathroom and good powerful shower. Friendly staff great breakfast and so close to the beach. Even though it was above the pub which is quite lively until about midnight we were on the top floor and it was quiet there. Only thing if you have kids that you might hear some noise late night from the pub below if it’s the weekend or in summer bit busier.
- Andrea (10/5): Excellent and a reason to come back to Aberdaron - Lovely location with a sea view from our room, which was very attractive and well appointed. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and the food was exceptionally good.
- Mary (9/5): Great with a kind, helpful owner. - Delicious selection of food for breakfast: perfect for me - natural yogurt fruit then muesli - and for my husband - including cooked breakfast. Excellent specials from the board for dinner with perfectly cooked carrots, sugar peas and broccoli.
The room was very well furnished as was the bathroom with quality fittings throughout. Muzak!
- Lilah (10/5): -
- Alexander (10/5): Amazing stay in a wonderful part of the world. - Great location. Wonderful breakfast.
- sally (8/5): Excellent and friendly base for our few days walking - Great location. Friendly and efficient staff, especially owner and in bar. Large and comfortable room (8). Broken tiles on step into bathroom. Clear glass in bathroom window (as was overlooking street and rooms above pub opposite).
- Bethan (9/5): - The room was lovely couldn't wish for better Nothing in particular. Glad I was fit to go up and down stairs.

- Jonathan (8/5): Friendly, welcoming hotel slap-bang next to the beach. - Extremely friendly, eager to please host and staff.
Breakfast was very generous and bespoke to order with some local delicacies!
The location is unbeatable - literally 10 steps from the beach which is perfect to pop back and forth if you forget something. Much less touristy than Abersoch with unspoilt coastline and underwater world - the sea can be cold even in summer, so bring a wetsuit!
- Abi (10/5): Perfect stay - Really lovely host who made us feel really welcome, lovely breakfast and perfect location. Will be back! Thank you
- Chris (7/5): Basic accommodation. Only 2 nights enough fior the area nit a lot to do - Its location
Evening meal Very tired. Stair carpet in particular. Didn’t look clean either.
No soap in bathroom
Old facilities
- Jayne (9/5): Long may she sail! - The friendly welcome and ambience of the hotel. Alun (The Ships, Captain) cannot do enough to ensure you have a good stay, and this comes across naturally befitting his many years of putting family, heart and soul into his Ship. The bar had a good choice of well kept beers and cheerful staff running it. The specials menu is very good and the food presentation is quality. The restaurant gets busy with local bookings too, so I recommend you book ahead. It was a bonus to get free parking in the nearby NT car park provided by a voucher from the hotel. Car park only 3 mins away. We will definitely return as the hotel exceeded our expectations and knows the real meaning of hospitality . The fact we had not booked for a longer stay!
- sara (8/5): -
- ROBERT HAYDN (10/5): Ideal base for walks along the coast path. - Great location, ideal for walks along the Wales coast path and for a boat trip to Bardsey Island.
Comfortable bedroom with sea views.
Quiet at night. Excellent breakfast and evening meal.
Friendly owner and staff. Will recommend. All very good.
- Colin (9/5): Central location with pre paid parking available nearby on national trust car park - Room with seaview
- Catherine (9/5): - Service and accommodation were high quality A bit pricey.
- Theresa (10/5): Lovely place to stay - Great location, food was good and the staff were lovely, very friendly Nothing
- Daniel (9/5): Short getaway in summer - A beautiful little hotel above a pub in the centre of the village, with excellent food options and nicely kept rooms only a one minute walk from the beach. Staff are lovely and friendly and the breakfast is excellent too. Nothing
- Christine (7/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - This hotel is perfect for a short stay right in the centre of Aberdaron village. The staff were amenable & eager to ensure we had all our needs were met. The bar of the hotel is popular and our room was above the main entrance and the customers of the bar could be easily heard even with the windows shut. The room would benefit with a fan or air conditioning.
- alessandra (10/5): bellissimo accanto al mare - un posto splendido dove sis sente sempre il rumore del mare.
staff cordiale e disponibile: ottima la colazione inclusa e ottima anche la cena (cuoco super!!) niente
- Peter David (10/5): -
- Joseph (10/5): - The staff was able to help us enjoy our stay. They were very professional and provided an excellent atmosphere.
- Bethan (10/5): -
- Elaine (8/5): Nice & friendly with a good mix of tourist & locals. The food was very good. - I could see the sea from my room
- Teresa (9/5): -
- Noel (8/5): - Great location on the beach. Pleasant local atmospheric pub with good food.
- Richard (9/5): -
- Daniel (7/5): Overall I enjoyed my stay - location was great! - Staff approachable.
Everyone including other guests were friendly and polite.
Location to the beach.
Good size room.
Breakfast was included in the price & great on the first day, the second day there was no electricity which couldn't be helped but unable to shower before check out & breakfast was very minimal. It would've been a nice gesture if a small refund had been offered.
However, overall I enjoyed my stay! Certain aspects of the room were a bit 'tired' looking which was a shame considering the rate per night.
(rusty curtain rail/ broken toilet seat).
Quick fixes can easily be made to justify this.
- mirco (10/5): -
- Trudy (10/5): - Alan, the owner, is absolutely brilliant, nothing is too much trouble. All staff are helpful and friendly. The whole place has a great atmosphere.
- CollisionWales (8/5): -
- Gayle (10/5): More like a family than a hotel - lovely stay - would return for sure - Lovely hospitable staff
Great good
Very close to the beach Nothing

- Coral (10/5): -
- Franco (9/5): - Grande cordialità del gestore e camera ampia Nulla
- philip (8/5): -
- GRAHAM (9/5): - Superb breakfast. Great hospitality by Alun and his team.
- Carolyn (10/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): - Great location, very good food, pleasant room very good size/modern and excellent landlord so welcoming and helpful. It's a small village which is part of why this is such a lovely location so you have to expect that parking can be tricky. You get a voucher for free parking in the National Trust car park which is great. It can get busy during the day but always appeared to spaces first thing and the evening - we arrived around 1pm and managed to get a space but the car park was full shortly after. I'm sure the landlord would have helped direct us to other spots around the village if needed. We knew this might be an issue before we went and all worked out fine, but it's just worth knowing so you can anticipate it.
- lisa (10/5): -
- Alan R (8/5): - Breakfast and evening meal very good, staff very friendly. Much better evening food than the hotel opposite. Loved the very large bathroom and shower. Having to park in the National Trust car park but it was not really a problem and there would be no other option in any case considering how compact Aberdaron is. The free parking ticket made it no hassle at all.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Ian (8/5): -
- Sheila (8/5): Exceptional staff - The rooms were a nice size and bathroom very modern.
What made the hotel stand out was how helpful and friendly the staff and owner were. We would definitely stay here again Nothing
- Viktor (9/5): Hidden gem - Everything was just fine. Very pleasant hosts. Excellent views from the room towards the sea. The hotel is next to a nice beach. Very nice food at the restaurant. We liked everything.
- John (9/5): -
- Lesley (9/5): -
- Roger (9/5): Very good indeed - The evening meals were superb No real ale in thr bar
- Angela (10/5): - Great hotel and friendly helpful staff.
Lovely seaview rooms, great food in the restauarant and just a few steps to the beach.
- David (10/5): Couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. Would go back again tomorrow! - Breakfast had excellent range of food, all freshly prepared. Location of hotel is fantastic, right at the very heart of the village and only a few meters from the beach Everything was as good or better than one could expect. We were made very welcome by Alun and the crew who ensured we enjoyed our stay from beginning to end.
- Suzanne (8/5): - Nice room with seaview. Good breakfast and evening meal. The staff were lovely, and the host was very friendly and helpful. Good location to explore Aberdaron and the surrounding area. One very noisy guest who locked himself out. The landlord was very decent to them, considering how rude the man was to him and another guest who tried to help him.
- Debs (9/5): -
- Gareth (9/5): -
- Karolina (10/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): - Good value for money with a lovely breakfast
- Mark (9/5): 30 metres from the beach !!! Great for early morning swim and stretch of the legs before breakfast. - Always good food, Rib eye perfectly cooked, great choice of various cooked breakfast, plus cereals and juices.
- Michael (10/5): Lovely hotel on Welsh Llyn Peninsula - Cozy family run hotel. Well run, all staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable rooms , very good food and variety of menu. One very small thing is that there is no parking on site but is free on a nearby National Trust car park.
- marilyn (10/5): Excellent value for money - Alun was very welcoming
Food menu was extensive
Food was lovely
Brilliant breakfast very
- Philip (9/5): Marvellous stay at the Ship Hotel - The location, right next to the beach in an iconic historical spot could not have been better. The room, with a sea view, was extremely comfortable and the public areas were also comfortable, well planned and very clean and tidy. The food, with healthy portions, was extremely tasty and service first rate. Can't think of anything apart from having to leave at the end of our stay
