• Verified traveler (8/5): - Really this is a great property right in the midst of the Jaffa Flea market and 2 minutes from the Clock Tower. So it is close to everything including the beach where we swam each morning before breakfast at one of the many great places to eat. The apartment was spacious and clean and well appointed. I would only warn people it does involve stairs and i would only say that a bit of fresh paint and new curtains would just add that winning touch as it looks a little "tired".

• Verified traveler (6/5): Pratique et simple - Pour une nuit, j'ai eu une petite chambre au dernier étage avec une petite fenêtre donnant sur un petit patio. C'est calme, on n'entend pas la rue. C'est appréciable dans ce quartier plein de bars et restaurants diffusant de la musique forte. Conformément à la description, j'ai récupéré la clé à la boutique en bas de l'immeuble. Le check-in était très rapide, aucun papier demandé. Je n'avais qu'un sac de 7kg sinon les escaliers raides auraient été un souci. Le matelas est confortable. Je n'ai pas eu besoin d'utiliser la climatisation. La chambre est dans un état assez détérioré mais tout fonctionne, la propreté des lieux laisse à désirer, mais les draps et les serviettes étaient fraîches.
• Michael (2/5): be careful what you pay for - The picture and description shows/says apartments. Mine was a tiny room with a coffee maker for self-catering, and a fridge which kept one awake at night.a vanity cupboard under the basin which was rotting away. The entire room was app 9ft by 8ft plus a shower/toilet/basin app 5ft by 2.5ft. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The door was so badly fitting that every word said by people in the hall was heard inside the room. You get what you pay for in this world and I went for cheap, but this verges on misrepresentation. A tiny room (no; 4). An apartment this was not. Its only asset was somewhere to sleep, so every waking hour had to be spent in tel aviv, and that is more expensive than staying in a decent hotel with a public area/lounge, room service and so on. I partly blame myself for not checking before I paid in advance. Even though the management appeared to be helpful, I could never recommend this so-called "apartment", which by the way does not have a lift as far as I could see, but very steep stairs for middle to old age people from the entrance.

• MARIA DE LOS ANGELES (2/5): No recomendado - el apartamento que nos pusieron eran inhabitable. Proteste al señor que esta alli atendiendo, empezó a gritar cuando le dije que nos ibamos porque no se podia estar, sucio, el baño lleno de manchas de moho, incluso el techo y el mueble roto y pegado con cinta, la cocina daba asco entrar, al igual que el baño. Al final nos cambio a otro que al menos estaba limpio y sin moho, pero nada que ver con las fotos con las que se anuncian.

• Jens (8/5): In Ordnung - Das Bad hätte sauberer sein können. Das Bett ist sauber und in Ordnung. Klimaanlage funktioniert gut. Die Lage ist hervorragend in Jaffa unmittelbar neben der Altstadt. Parken ist jedoch wie überall in Tel Aviv und Jaffa problematisch.

• Göran (8/5): Convenient stay near Tel Aviv - A small but convinient room near the Clock Tower in Jaffa. The room was situated on first floor with a window facing a rather scruffy back yard. The room was quiet and I could sleep well at night. There was a fridge and a shower in the room so I think I got great value for the money I spent for the room.

Es ist übersichtlicher - Lokale und Restaurants liegen direkt um die Ecke. Zum Strand geht man 5 Minuten. Als perfekte Orientierung dient der Uhrturm.

• Verified traveler (6/5): - Clean, good AC. Very well located. Rooms are extremely loud as situated directly on a busy street. Windows are very, very old and don't close properly, which is the cause for exacerbated noise. Staff were helpful otherwise.
• Kevin (6/5): - Good location on the edge of the flea market and under 5 mins walk to a sandy beach, Rm 10 is at the top of 3 flights of steep stairs. It's a basic room with very small shower room. There are no external windows. A very small sitting room is shared with Rm 8.This has a tin roof with open edges which allows birds in (and they have left their mark all over the room and seats !). At £160 for 3 nights it offers good value in a town where decent rooms are very expensive.
• I (8/5): - Great place to stay, especially if you enjoy street music and fun. It has the Greenwich Village vibe. Friday 9PM to 2AM concert right under our balcony was unexpected, but we enjoyed it. The place is just a few blocks from the seashore. Every shop is a restaurant, bakery, or a small store. Famous Jaffa market is a block away. The building is in old colonial style – high ceilings, great windows, balcony all around the apartment. Very nice view, especially at night. The greatest challenge was getting in the 3rd floor. The elevator has the mind of its own, and may refuse to move. The apartment itself is clean, convenient, and pleasant. I would definitely stay there again.

But the location is fantastic if you want to experience Jaffa especially if you are on a budget. Snuck a peak at one of the larger apartments which looked a lot nicer
• Verified traveler (4/5): Worn down rooms with questionable cleaning routine - The first room I got had a very powerful foul smell from the drain which really made it hard to get comfortable. The toilet was also not cleaned at all. When I complained the staff was friendly and gave me a new room, which was better cleaned and without smell. The rooms are worn down and need some maintenance.

• DANA (2/5): We had to call the health dept. - When we arrived at the hotel, which then advertised a shuttle but when we arrived required and expensive taxi, they attempted to give us a windowless room that contained fungus and hair, clearly it was not clean or even the bed sheets changed since the prior occupants and the partitions were of plywood so it was a fire trap. We took pictures and are working with local authorities on this problem. Moved to a proper room after significant discussion hotels.com very kindly provided credits to make up for the hotels falsehoods about providing shuttle or taxi service. Note there is a serious flight of stairs before the lift and the lift is unsafe with no interior door. The hotel was advertising itself as disabled accessible. They have been changing their website since so make sure you take a screenshot if you decide to gamble and book. We met another couple from Russia who booked on a different site and had the same problems. The pictures of the hotel are actually from a real four star hotel across the street... this hotel consists of three narrow buildings with ongoing construction and roof top debris and non working locks especially on exterior doors and windows. Presently in the process of submitting this evidence to hotels.com to have this establishment removed from the site once we are able to organise an inspection with the Tel Aviv tourism and Fire marshal offices. Photos are "upgrade" room.

• Vickie (8/5): Fun in the Old City of Jaffa! - We had a great time. Street noise was noisy. We had help carrying the suitcases up rather steep. The cab they called came quickly. Great little places to eat.
• Verified traveler (6/5): - The room is very small, but suitable for a short stay. The great thing about this place is it is so close to everything in Jaffa. It can be noisy as its located close to the Jaffa centre, so the prayer towers are going, and on the weekend the music and clubs are close by. Bathroom was small and water leaks and has nowhere to drain away so its a bit of a pain. The bed is very dated and mattress lumpy. Hasn't been cleaned for months underneath, filthy. But you pay for what you get, the hotel is located close to everything, it was a cheap room so these are minor points when you are paying this amount in Tel Aviv.

Tired furniture, peeling paint, dirty fridge that still had splattered pasta sauce all over it from the last guests. The only saving grace was that the sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. We stayed there for the convenient location as we had an event in Jaffa.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap and Good For Money But Could Be Cleaner - Stopped just the one night at the Clock which can be a little difficult to find but we did eventually. We arrived late and as we didn't have internet didn't realize we had had entry details sent by email. We found the intercom which was a little hard to hear but eventually worked out what we needed to do and found our room. The room was quiet spacious and had a split level so there was a TV and sitting area. A bedroom beneath and kitchen and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the pillows and quilt of good quality. However the pro's stopped there. Everything else I would say was average to poor. We found the room could have care and cleaning. The floor was gritty and the kitchen and bathrooms a little gritty from not enough care being taken cleaning. Especially around the sinks and wetter areas. The location is amazing but probably wouldn't stay again mainly due to the cleanliness issues.
• Yu Ching Vincent (10/5): One memorable day in Jaffa - Had a fantastic stay at the Clock for one night. Location is superb right at the heart of Jaffa, a city full of colour and character. It's a must-go for anyone spending time in Tel Aviv. The Clock is situated right in the restaurant, souk area with the flee market right next door and the beach with the best sunset view within a 5 min walk. The operator of the premise also runs a wine shop with delicious Israeli wine which blows me away in terms of price performance. If you missed your chance to visit vineyards up the Golan Heights then this is an opportunity to sample it. Service was efficient and attentive. The operator also helps arrange a ride to the airport, all smooth and no fuss.

Double ceiling height makes the stairs difficult and not a place for old people or heavy luggage. Other than that is a great cost/benefit option. I would go back to this place. A little noisy at night, until 11 PM

We got a living room with a small kitchen and a bedroom with a nice bathroom for the price of a normal room in others hotels. Plus you are at the heart of Old Jaffa with restaurants, bars and cafes just down the stairs. Great place to enjoy urban life in Tel-Avid

High ceilings, clean and room provided with light housekeeping items. It is a bit dated in terms of furnishing but everything works. Great location and reasonable price.

We stayed for 8 days and they only came twice to change towels and toilet rolls. Sheets never got changed in 8 days. Our door had a loose hinge (the rod used to fall spontaneously). We loved the location. Full of amazing places to eat
• Helen (8/5): Characterful apartments in a great location - The Clock apartments have a lot of character: High ceilings and chandeliers, balconies and shutters - they are a bit of historical Jaffa! The buildings have been modernised and have all mod cons needed - a kitchenette, shower room, air conditioning, even an espresso machine. It does feel a bit like the high end finish is not present - the modern bathroom is getting a little tatty/mouldy grout and the air conditioner is a bit temperamental. Those things said, the location is great and just minutes from lovely bars, restaurants, markets etc.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Amazing Jaffa! - Fabulous location with more restaurants, cafes and bars than you could ever visit. A short walk to the beach, the flea market and historic Jaffa harbour. The night life is amazing. Musical groups all over the place. Bet Eshel street is right out of a movie. Straight out of the Ottoman era. We had room 11 - a first floor two bedroom apartment with kitchenette and balcony overlooking the street. Nothing fancy or luxurious but lots of room. The bed linen and towels are not changed every day but the staff is happy to do both whenever requested. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. No elevator and the stairs are steep so if you're staying above the first floor you'd better be in shape.
• Chris (10/5): Great Apartment Hotel in Jaffa - We had a good stay at The Clock for only one night. Great location right in Jaffa with views over the area and the sea. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We booked the 3 bedroom which was spacious and beds very comfortable. The large patio was great.
• Graham (8/5): Good Location in Historic Jaffa, Helpful Staff - Stayed here one night while visiting Tel Aviv for a day. It had a good location in a beautiful part of Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa. The hotel staff was really helpful. I loved the fragrance of the odoirizer in the wash room. The room was a little tricky to find, but other than that the experience at the hotel was excellent.

• Yaw (8/5): Great apartment, excellent location - We stayed in one of the apartments and found it very excellent. It was a little strange experience as we received an email with instructions on self check in so we never went through any formal checkin procedure. Check in staff was always away and when we found him he seemed non chalant, no eye contact but answered questions ie didn't go out of the way to help. Overall excellent experience. I recommend staying in the apartments

The area was perfect for walking around Old Jaffa, visiting an array of bars and restaurants, and close to the water for sunset. The front desk gentlemen were very enthusiastic and helpful in sharing their knowledge and suggestions about the area. Besides appreciating the location and awesome pricing, the support from the staff would be reason enough for staying here!
• Kurt (8/5): Shabby Sheep All Around - The room was clean and comfortable. The location is superb for seeing Joppa on foot. The down side is that there is no off street parking and good luck finding a spot within a quarter of a mile of the hotel. Also there is a narrow staircase consisting of 53 steps to get to your room. This hotel is great for active folks. If you have young children I'd consider looking elsewhere.
• Verified traveler (8/5): i thought that the room was clean and comfortable. - i liked the cleanliness and comfort of the room althogh the area itself was very old and so were the buildings. it was a very old area in joppa. i probably would have preferred a little newer area. that's why i gave it a four rating.
• Mark (10/5): Charming Hotel - The hotel was charming and in a great location. Old Jaffa Port was an easy walk. Great restaurants and shops were all close by. Boaz, at the front desk, was a charming individual and eager to help us make arrangements during our stay. The bedding was crispy white and the beds very comfortable. Our room was quite with a nice view. Will definitely return on our next trip to Israel.
• Older female (4/5): Very old hotel in the old part of Jaffa - The hotel is very old but has been renovated to some extent. I found the staff pleasant and efficient but the cleanliness left a lot to be de sired and I complained before I left. It is handy to the old port and markets and a good walk along the magnificent waterfront of Tel Aviv. Although there are facilities to make tea and coffee and a small fridge there was no milk at all to make a cup of tea. Instead of an iron and ironing board I think a toaster and a bit of butter and jam would be a lot more use to most people in this day and age.

I had not realized how close the hotel was to the old city of Jaffa and to the beach. Also, GoogleMap doesn't give a great sense of the little street it is on. Looked run down on that website, but in real life it was cute/bustling/interesting. Was very pleased overall.

• Linda (4/5): Good choice for the adventuresome - First the good news... Great location, literally around the corner from key attractions of old Jaffa, which is a fascinating place. Big balcony. Apartment not luxurious, but well set up with plenty of room and everything a vacationer needs. Clean, contemporary design. The layout was great for a family of four. Staff was very patient in answering my questions and helped us with our luggage. Now the bad news. First thing that greeted us when we walked into our lodgings were two large roaches in the kitchenette area, one alive and one dead. The desk clerk came right up and sprayed for them and we did not see them again... But we also left the light on in there round the clock after that. You aren't supposed to flush your TP since it's an old building. Which would be ok if they emptied your trash daily but they don't. On our last night there there was heavy rain. The patio didn't drain and we all wound up up at 4:30 squeegee'ing inches of rainwater off our tile floor. A poster I bought in Jerusalem got ruined when I didn't get it off the floor fast enough and we had to use the hair drier on some of our clothes and shoes. They did agree to give us a nice discount in view of how rough that second night was. Smaller point, but the elevator did not go down to ground floor and we had lots of luggage. Again, the desk clerk was kind to help us get our luggage up. On the whole we were very happy our stay was not longer.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Charming apartment in the heart of Jaffa. - I chose The Clock for its proximity to my friends' home in Jaffa and was more than satisfied. Check-in was efficient and easy. My room looked out over the roof of the famed Flea Market: although this is not a scenic view, it meant that I enjoyed a quiet atmosphere while being in the center of town. The kitchenette was well-appointed and supplied with coffee and tea. My room was good-sized, clean and cozy. Most important, the bed was very comfortable and made up with care. NOTE: There are many stairs to get to your room and no elevator. My room had shelves but no hanging space in the closet. The towels were plentiful and plush, but the bathrobe mentioned on-line was nowhere to be found. The toiletries were high quality and abundant. I will certainly return to The Clock.
• svetlana (4/5): Great location, bad hotel. - My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. Room was very small, hard to move around. Shower was flooded every time one of us used it. Room smelled like mist from flooded shower. The building has very steep stairs and no elevator. Reception office works limited hours, so hard to find staff after business hrs. No assigned parking awailable. Hard to find street parking. Location is great. Will NOT stay in this hotel ever again.
• Verified traveler (2/5): - This place is still being built. Aircon required the window to be open so it could draw fresh air and whilst it was 45 degrees outside this seemed pointless. The shower floor was incorrectly completed so it drew the water across the entire bathroom and straight out into the room onto a slippery wooden floor, a long arm squeegee was provided, for those keen to work it. Location of the hotel was excellent and staff were helpful on checking in.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Lots of stairs - Comfortable room, friendly staff, but I´d forgotten to say that my mum has mobility issues, so we had to go up two rather large flights of stairs to get to where we were staying. Still, that was my fault, just be aware if you are booking for a mobility-challenged person!

• James (6/5): Not quite a hotel - The price and location of the hotel were both attractive. However, the setup of this place is very strange and does not work very well. It is not a 'hotel'. You check in in a small shop nearby the apartments. Staff there are nothing like normal hotel staff - neither helpful nor well informed nor particularly interested in customers. (Two staff chatted to each other for more than 5 minutes while I stood there waiting to be served.) I asked one staffperson about things to do in Jaffa, did they have anything to recommend. They just said they didn't know Jaffa very well ... and left it at that. My room itself was nice, though the building is being renovated and there were mattresses in the hallway and up the staircase. The external door wasn't locked or lockable when I arrived (staff said it would be 'okay' though), though my room door did have a lock.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful historical apartment in center of Jaffa - Stayed one night in an apartment here. Beautiful old building with a feeling of going back in time. Very spacious apartment with balcony, high ceilings and large windows. Internet was also very fast (and complementary). Superb location in middle of Jaffa - everything (including the ocean) was within a 3-5 minute walk. Only downside was noise from the street, but again my stay was during the weekend. Wish my stay was much longer. A fantastic value and very memorable stay that felt so different from a traditional hotel (in a refreshing way). Highly recommended!

• Carlos (8/5): Good location - Comfortable room - The room was nice and clean. Also it was comfortable and the location is good. A couple of things to be improved: 1) There is no reception and the street door remains unlocked all through the night. This made me feel a little bit unsafe. 2) If you arrive after 6 PM it gets hard to get the key. The owners of the place should have a better system for travelers to get the key. Some of us have travelled more than 20 hours to get to Tel Aviv and we don't have the time/energy to search for the property manager. Except for that it was a good experience and I recommend this hotel.
