- Peter (4/5): Looks great on the net, but run down and needs some serious investment. - Staff were happy and helpful. Food was good and tasty. Dirty, decoration was old, lights didn't work, aircon was old and noisy, bedside tables broken, dirty balcony. Whole place was just run down, dilapidated and in a poor state. Mold everywhere and paint peeling.
- Dso (5/5): A tired hotel with Seaview - Almost none. Seafront view, but no beach Communication: we wrote two times regarding airport transfer and our need to have rooms we booked to be located close to each other, there is no reply at all. Airport shuttle as listed in the facilities doesn't exist We need two card keys for each room, and we have to leave a deposit for the second key The ambience: very tired hotel. Although it is listed as **** (four star) in reality it is more like ***(three star minus). Towels were greyish in colour, not crisp and smelly (I think it is a mix between perfume and sweat). We complained and sincerely asked for a better towels, but we still got the same on the following day. Only on the third day we got a bit better quality towels,but on that day we saw a big government official meeting in the hotel. Maybe this (rather than our request) was the reason. We even found some beach sand on the bed. Toilet bowl is a refurbished (repainted) one. There is a balcony facing the sea in our sea view room, but no chair. Outdoor AC units are there sitting on the balcony, so the balcony has absolutely no function to enjoy the view. We can enjoy the sea view in the restaurant during breakfast. Fridge in one of the rooms was not functioning at all. We didn't care to file a complaint because from the towel complaints and previous communication we knew this hotel didn't have ears to listen. Apart from the sea view, it is difficult to say that the hotel is in a good location. You still can order grab car easily, but walking to the city centre is 1.5 km. So don't expect to easily stroll in the evening. I was misled by the name. BW is nothing to do with Best Western although there are two hotels with BW name in town. Beware of the listed facilities not all are existent. According to taxi drivers it used to be Aston. This maybe the only reason why the behaviors of the staffs (front office, restaurant, security) are acceptable. Not outstanding, but acceptable. There is no concierge desk.

Easy to get around the island via Grab or by booking a vehicle and driver. The food for breakfast and room service is very good.

- Fran (6/5): Nice hotel by the water - Good location by the water, approx. 30mins from airport. Hotel staff were nice and some could speak English fluently. Getting up to your hotel room can sometime take a while as they only have 2 lifts for 10+floors. Room is clean, however bathroom is old and could do with a renovation. Buffet breakfast at their restaurant was above average with a nice selection of Asian and Western food. However, stay clear of having dinner at their restaurant, service was very slow and food varied from being too salty to being bland. Portions were generous.

- Margaret E (8/5): Stay at BW Belitung for spacious room and comfort - I come here for work & it's the closest hotel to my work place. The room is spacious & the hotel is big although the design is a bit old. Breakfast selection is quite varies, although they tend to running out of the fruits. The coffee is quite watery. On my last stay, unfortunately the hot water didn't really work, but on other rooms I've stayed before I didn't encounter this. Once I got the ocean view room & it was a pleasant view. The staff's service is excellent. I once forgot to return the card & promised to return on next visit & they allowed me to do this. I also left my item in the room & they brought it down for me.

- Jacelyn (8/5): Pretty and convenient hotel - The hotel staff are friendly but could not speak english well. Although the spa stated 1, 1.5 or 2 hrs package, but whenever we request for 1.5 or 2hrs, the masseurs always reject and insist on 1hr. Furthermore, the swimming pool stink abit, thus it seems the pool water is not changed regularly. There is a small gym available for us. But it is really small with 3 machines ( trackmill, bicycle and rower) and a yoga mat.

Many of the staffs could not speak English, which is understandable but staffs who answered the calls(help desk, in dine) also were poor in English which made the stay hard.

- Marini (6/5): OK, not great - One of the better choice of hotels in Belitung (not many option to choose!) Except for comfortable beds and cleanliness, everything else is mediocre. The hotel is just 1,5 years old but it sure does look older than that. They could have done more with the beach next to the hotel, perhaps clean the area and make it totally nice by placing beach chairs and shades but of course that won't happen.

- mark (8/5): great place to see a great island - Modern and new. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Very close to town centre and good base to go and discover the island. Nice ocean view from hotel room, though be aware it is not a beach suitable for swimming. Nice pool though. If you eat breakfast outside be prepared to share your food with hungry insects, but not a major issue.
