- pikirittar (10/5): Our favourite hotel in Legian - Always our first option of accommodation in Legian area. Always stay here whenever we go to Bali. Very strategic location, room is spotless and affordable. Also they have 2 nice pools. Hotel team members are corteous and hospitable. In our last stay we got a lovely bed arrangement surprise in our room. We'd like to send our gratitude to Mr. Putu Rio for the room set up and arrangement. Def will stay here again when we visit Bali. Very recommended hotel.

- Dana (5/5): Won’t stay again. Cheap and nasty. - Sadly the food at the hotel was not very good. Especially the à la cart menu was barely edible. Plates were often dirty. Some of the staff were very nice and friendly. Hotel was so run done. Pool area was unsafe with broken decking and tiles. Luckily for us we had the suite room which aloud us a very spacious area. If you stay here get the suite other rooms are tiny. Honestly it was a cheap hotel and we got what we paid for. Drinks and food are terrible.

- 23Curiosity (2/5): Very Disappointing Stay with Some Safety Concerns - Our stay at Sun Island Hotel & Spa Legian was unfortunately very disappointing and far below what we expected. While there were a few positives, many issues made the overall experience frustrating. First, the breakfast was really bad. It felt like the same food was being served for several days with very little variety, and the quality was not good. Most of the staff in the breakfast area were rude and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse. The only exception was Mr. Nokia, who was polite, friendly, and very professional. He was clearly trying his best to make sure guests were comfortable and having a pleasant stay. He checked on guests, was attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the experience people were having. Unfortunately, he wasn’t available every day, and on the days he wasn’t there, the difference was very noticeable. Without him, the staff in the breakfast area often felt unfriendly, rude, and not very welcoming. Another issue was the large number of mosquitos in the breakfast area. There were so many that it was uncomfortable to sit there, and it honestly didn’t feel safe for small children. The rooms also had several problems. The locker in our room wasn’t working when we arrived, and after several calls and a long wait, someone finally came to fix it. My parents also had to change their room because their door was jammed and wouldn’t open, which was very inconvenient. In addition, the towels in the room looked more yellow than white, which made them seem old and not very clean. The swimming pool area was quite concerning. The wooden flooring around the pool was broken in places, and the wood felt weak and rotting as if it could give way. Inside the pool, the steps were sharp and had no clear markings, making them difficult to see. Some of the pool floor tiles were also chipped and coming out, which could easily cause injuries. One positive point I must mention is the housekeeping staff. They were absolutely amazing — very polite, professional, and they cleaned the rooms really well. Their effort and attitude were truly appreciated. Overall, despite the great housekeeping team and Mr. Nokia’s efforts, the hotel has many maintenance, service, and safety issues that need serious attention. Because of these problems, we unfortunately would not recommend staying here.

- Saira (4/5): Disappointing experience - Great location, close to restaurants bars convenience stores This hotel is run down and old, Air conditioning is poor, rooms smell musty, showers have an unbearable smell, mold stains on bedsheets and pillow cases and my kids slept on them, i specifically asked them to change sheets and pillowcase but they just made the bed and same pillow case was on. Had to change four different rooms, all had problems, too much noise, dogs barking, scooters passing by, 3rd floor pool was okay, rooftop pool had a very bad smell. Breakfast buffet had limited options, staff is nice and did their best to accommodate our needs. For this price you can get better hotel in same locality.

We arrived from the airport late and planned on moving on in the morning so did not get to see the pool area however the staff were really friendly. Bedroom could do with an update, very old and paint peeling etc. The bathroom definitely needs some tlc as the shower started up on its own in the night waking us up. Bed was comfy so that was the main bit. Across the road is a mini mart and I would say that the breakfast was basic but tasty for the price of it.

No atmosphere around pool area. Drinks range limited at bar. Waited very long for drinks as they make them downstairs then bring them up an elevator and you have to pay as you go.

- O'Brien (1/5): would never ever stay there again. - The 3 rd floor pool, the highlight , but missing so many tiles on pool floor you ran risk of cutting your feet I felt like i was in a dorm, room had odour, was tiny and it should be illegal to classify what I had as a balcony , a balcony. It was like an aerobics excercise to get your way around the bathroom, and the wrought iron gates to get into the section of the hotel that I was in made it feel like a prison, The breakfast was minimal and very ordinary . The staff were mainly reasonable but not anywhere near the same level at the hotel I had just had previously. Could not in clear conscience recommend this hotel to anyone . Far and away worst hotel experience I have ever had in Bali

Couldn’t have time out from the chaos of the streets 😢

You literally walk out of the hotel and you are in the middle of the bali nightlife! Prime location if you want to be in the middle of the bali night-life. Do not recommend for children as it is almost impossible to not be surrounded by ciggarette smell. Perfect for the party goers, couples or friend trips.

- TC247003 (4/5): MOULD AND UNCLEAN - DO NOT BOOK - Absolutely disgusting experience at Sun Island and Spa Hotel in Legian. Our room had black mould on the walls, which is a serious health concern, especially in a place people are supposed to sleep. The floor was filthy, the bed was dirty, and the entire hotel feels neglected and unhygienic. When we complained, the staff were completely unhelpful and dismissive. They showed us another room, but it was in just as bad condition. We had no choice but to leave and move hotels on the second day. To make matters worse, they refused to refund us even after we pointed out the black mould. This is one of the dirtiest, most outdated and unsafe hotels I’ve ever seen – avoid at all costs for your health and sanity.

- Brian (8/5): - Pool was fantastic. Breakfast was meh...the extra $35000 rupiah ($3) to have bacon was a bit much. Every day breakfast was the same. (Same fruit, same choices so it gets tiring. The area around the hotel is a bit run down, did see rats each night walking back to hotel from areas near open fields or garbage bags. Every store in area is either a massage parlor, tattoo shop, counterfeit store, or a convenience store. The rooms are very very small, big enough really for one person. Two will feel tight. Lack of storage space for luggage, clothing drawers, or shelves make this an ideal hotel for a max 2 night/transit stay. Grab (asias version of uber), to the airport was $50000 rupiah or $5/cad. The walls are thin so you will hear others. During my stay, you can smell smokers and old tobacco every where. The room was cold, and floor was freezing so use the slippers. The guest staff were helpful in changing sheets and do try to accomodate. Request upper floor (3rd or 4th floor if you can).
- bradley (8/5): - we only stayed for one night and had to leave very early in the morning, staff were fantastic (service desk is open 24/7) and helped book us a cab at 4:30am to go to the airport. fast check-in and fast check-out, only problem we had was our room was on the ground floor and outside our little window was a side road and every time someone walked past you could hear someone's dogs barking like they were in your room.

We had fresh towels daily and clean rooms! The hotel also has waaay cheaper food than any restaurant nearby and it is very delicious! Cheap all you can eat breakfast buffet as well! They also gave us so many free things like toothpaste, toothbrush, shower cap etc

- Trek14179703025 (10/5): Highly recommended! - Stayed there for one night, the place was nice even to small details. The pool was big and clean, placed on the rooftop so it's good for photos. Room was clean, had a small balcony, a hair dryer, fridge, and a smart TV really completes it for me. There were also lots of shops and convenient stores around the hotel that you can walk into to find your needs while enjoying the Legian vibes. Breakfast was really good, lots of choices and tasteful. Staffs were kind and helping, also special shoutout to Mr. Deni for decorating the bed before my check in, it was for my honeymoon, what a brilliant touch of art. Highly recommended.

- Karrie (1/5): Sucky place - better stays elsewhere for better price!! - Breakfast: ok - egg station, pancakes, fruit Beds: very wide (not very long), comfy enough Didn’t like much else - Requested to be put in a room away from lane way. Was put right against the laneway with the noisy motorbikes. Lasted 2 nights and requested to be moved. They refused to put us in a superior ground floor room without paying extra (was NOT paying extra for this dump). They then moved us to another room, right against ANOTHER laneway, which had FIFTEEN (yep - 15, I counted) dogs barking at all hours of the night and morning. The new room light wasn’t working in the dressing area, TV was disconnected and safety deposit box wasn’t working. Requested for them to be fixed and took over an hour for someone to come. - Balcony is as wide as a size 8 women’s shoe, basically rude to even call it a balcony. - infinity pool (level 3) decking is so worn and old you’re guaranteed to get a splinter walking barefoot (which you kinda have to do when swimming) - pool “bar” at infinity pool sells Bintang and mocktails ONLY (with unfriendly service too). Not allowed to bring any other food or drinks to the pool area. - level 4 decking overlooking infinity pool just as worn. - “Spa” on level 4 not even open to be able to book any massages/treatments - Top floor (have to walk up stairs - elevator doesn’t get there) “bar” doesn’t even have a bar, and is completely unmanned - no towels or even toilets up there. No cover over the pool whatsoever. - checkout (6:30am) receptionist was fast asleep and took 3x attempts to wake him before he actually did. - room service closes at 10:30pm - breakfast finishes at 10am - got there AT 10am when food was still available and was told no, so had to go pay again for breakfast elsewhere. - Channels in English on TV play the same movies over and over - whole place is just not up to standard, has lots of potential but no one there cares - whole vibes weren’t great - none of that Bali love from staff, nothing to help feel welcome etc - pool views are NOT like the photos, not a single tree - all buildings - false advertising

One side they were renovating, working till hours of morning. other side they had plenty of dogs, which at times they would not stop barking, also stunk as they did not clean their pens often. Also room was a bit small, shelves were dusty, shower was moldy and smelt of drainage. Breakfast was not much, had to pay extra for bacon. Only had 1 juice variety, water, tea and coffee. Danishes were not fresh. They had bread for toast and about 4 different dishes such as rice, soup etc. There was hardly anyone in the pool bar, at one stage a guest had to get out of the pool and go ring for service. they did not have any life guards. Would not recommend this hotel if you have young children. This place is ok if you travelling on a budget.

- A8107ZOhelenb (4/5): Not the best - This Hotel is nothing like the pictures they put up! It is very outdated, need a lot of maintenance. At 2.30 pm out room was not ready, so we left our luggage in reception and came back later. We had to call reception twice as the safe deposit box was showing error. Again called them twice as card to open the door did’nt work.room was small but it was ok although not very clean. Shower was all mouldy, needs a good scrub. Basin held water. We had an awfull smell coming from drain in the bacthroom,told them about it and they sent someone to clean it. Breakfast was nothing much, bacon you had to pay extra, juice they had guava one day, orange the next day. The danishes were not fresh. The pool on the roof hardly any one used, the other pool was used the most. It has a high step to get into and no ladder. If you travelling on a budget, the hotel is ok otherwise don’t go there cause you will be disappointed!

- Lisa (10/5): - The location is fantastic for a solo traveller. On the main road half way between garlic lane and poppies lanes. The room was lovely and clean with the most comfortable beds and great air-con. Room service is open 24hrs if needed which is great for late night arrivals etc or returning from a long day. Bayu, a cleaner, has become a good friend! He goes above and beyond to care for you during your stay, he would be an asset to the Sun island if moved into the customer service area such as reception or restaurant. His hospitality and kindness is why I returned here to stay solo. You're always greeted with a warm smile and hello from all the staff. The pool is closed by 8pm. I think it should be available for use until at least 10 pm, and unfortunately, it's shaded by the building most of the day, so it can be quite cold.

Frukosten var sådär, inte så mycket att välja på men ändå bra att frukost ingår. Mycket ljud utifrån, folk skrek, motorcyklar och bilar hördes, byggnation tvärs över hotellet och grann hundar som skällde (5 st) dock inte hotellets fel men de borde byta fönster. Är du känslig för ljud så välj ett annat hotell.
