Guest Reviews
- Aoife (1/5): Would never stay here again. - Honestly nothing the location wasn’t even close to a bus stop, the only good thing it was close to a supermarket. It had black mould in the room and the bathroom.
The carpet had stains all over it and I found Rose petals around the room. The photos shown a shower but what we got was a bathtub which had a hose that went up to hip height, which leaked aswell. Expensive to the facilities being awful

- Viktoryia (1/5): Please avoid this place because of the bed bugs and rust for your health - The location is good - a lot of bed bugs, which we identified only in the morning after first night. Our body is coverage of the red dots.
- very strange check-in time and no flexibility at all

- Walker (10/5): Amazing - The tub No identified trash can
- Waterval (1/5): Thumbs down - There was no communication at all NO communication,
NO personal,
NO response after.
NOTHING!
- Strohscherer (4/5): - Die Heizung hat in 2 Zimmern nicht funktioniert, es war wirklich sehr kalt.
- ribeiro (7/5): NA - NA NA
- marco (8/5): - Prima verblijf, nette en schone kamer.
- Tobias (3/5): - We arrived after the agreed check-in time and had confirmed by phone that the key would be placed in a key box. Unfortunately, the key was not there. We had to book another hotel for the night. No apology, no compensation, no responsibility from the staff. Very disappointing.

- Caitlin (8/5): Clean and comfortable cosy little apartment would recommend! - Clean and easy access to train and bus links The air con not working
- J (7/5): -
- Elisa (5/5): Not a very clean room for the price you pay. - It is located in a nice neighborhood. The shops (Lidl & Albert Hein) and the park are very close. The room wasn’t clean. It had a smelly carpet (I suggest you bring flip flops to use inside) and a stained celiling. The mini fridge did not cool much. The bathtub leaked. The sheets were a bit smelly as well.
Internet on the door did not work, so ask them to provide you with password of another available wifi.
- Maarten (1/5): Extremely dirty, not good for people with any allergies - No idea Very very dirty. Everything is some fuzzy material. The ground is 4cm of fuzzy stuff and the walls are carpet. It feels like it hasnt been cleaned in years. You can drop towels on the floor but still everything will be itchy. There is also no shower and the water doesnt get hot of the bath. You need to go to a different place for your keys and then on another day you need to go back for the deposit. I think there is a scam with the keys too… their tag ALWAYS drops of the key so you would surely loose it
- Sancho (6/5): Pleasant - Good location near a supermarket in a calm neighborhood, clean room and good outdoor space. All the toilet paper one can dream of :) The heating was a bit too strong at night, an electric kettle would have been a nice thing to have.
- Rezza (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean and super convenient to get in and out of the center Nothing
- Shane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carlos (6/5): Best in Zwanenburg - The bed was really comfortable, good shower, nice terrace and the bedroom was in the principal street of Zwanenburg The air heater wasn’t working and was a little bit cold but a guy who works there gave me more blankets, shout out to him :)
- Nazz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Regina (6/5): Pleasant - The location The out fit ,balcony floor needs be fixed no , shower bath tub very uncomfortable, bath towel dirty
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional - All good, AC needs extension cords.
- Glavanova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paige (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (6/5): Pleasant - Big balcony, location is nice and quiet. Lidl just next to the Appartements. We stayed here for a festival nearby. Maintenance is low. Dirty and incredibly stinky like old sweaty socks. We had to keep the balcony door open all the time. At one place the wallpaper was ripped. The bedsheets had someone’s hair all over it.
The check in process is also complicated. Only when we reached the apartments we saw a note that for the key we have to go to another hotel. It was hot and we had luggage, so it wasn’t a pleasant walk. The same for check out. You also have to deposit 50€ in cash for the key.
- Glavanova (8/5): Very good -
- Molly (8/5): If you prefer a quieter location to spend your holiday i would definitely recommend this place. - The bed was so comfortable we almost didn’t leave! It was a lovely place with access to a balcony. The door was a bit tricky to lock sometimes.
- Uroš (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were very polite, and the town it's located in is beautiful.
We love planes, so the vicinity of the airport made sure we saw a lot of them.
- Ellen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kateryna (4/5): Disappointing - Nice neighborhood, but has a lack of transport a bit. To get to Amsterdam train station you need to walk 20 minutes and then took a train for 2 stops. It was dirty for hotel of any kind.
- Ronel (6/5): Pleasant - Nice big bathtub Balcony not stable and unclean
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad - Our experience at Villa Monte Dana was undeniably disappointing. The subpar accommodations, lack of amenities, and indifferent customer service resulted in an overall poor value for the price we paid. As guests, we expect hotels to provide an exceptional experience that justifies the cost, but sadly, this particular establishment failed to deliver. We would caution potential guests to carefully consider their options and explore other hotels that offer better value and a more satisfying experience.
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hamed (8/5): Very good -
- Katrin (7/5): Good - picking up keys at different location
- Gopalan (4/5): No dine near by and no coffee or tea in the room - Ac not working but management doesn’t give any discount. Bathroom drain system is very poor As above
- Mikkel (7/5): Good -
- Simon (3/5): Poor - Host seemed lovely and was very accommodating. Discount cards available in the hallway, Free wifi. Nice having a TV with cable channels. Great pizza place near by. The room absolutely stank of stale weed, it was truly awful and, despite having the balcony door open for almost our entire stay, the smell never left. The smoke detector was half missing and hanging from the ceiling (there was a green light on it so assume working). The light bulbs had no lamp shades on them. The shower was very blocked and immediately filled up when you tried to use it. The shower heads were very dirty. The carpet in the room is long-shag type and had lots of stains on it, looked impossible to get clean so assume that it wasn't. The balcony didn't feel safe, the composite decking used had fallen through in several places and was warped and ready to be replaced. There were security cameras (Infrared) in the garden below pointing directly up and through the balcony window of the room. The air conditioning unit couldn't be plugged in or used as the cable was too short. There was a kettle and mugs but no tea or coffee. There were 2 plastic cups in the bathroom but they looked grim so we dare didn't use them. The local area is very loud - not buzzing nightlife but d***heads ragging their cars around the Lidl car park right behind the property and up and down the local streets with extremely loud music at unsociable hours. It's odd as the surrounding area seems quite well-off in parts. The real kicker was that we needed to leave the property to get a plane at a reasonably early time on the day we left - their reception is only open at 9am(!) and you must be checked out by 11, which is completely unreasonable for any hotel/room checkout of anywhere I've ever stayed before - it renders the place useless if you are there for work or have an even vaguely early flight/other transport that you need to catch. The host waived the deposit for the key because of this, which we thanked them for but frankly shouldn't be needed. That deposit, btw, is 50 euros in cash only...
- Kacper (5/5): Passable - It was cheap Not working AC, checking in in a completely different place. No coffee, only a kettle. Hair dryer not working.
- Kyle (10/5): Perfect -
- Blessin (8/5): Very good -
- Alfredo (6/5): Pleasant -
- Vienna (8/5): Very good -
- Gianfranco (5/5): Your last option for the money - Not much Super hot room if you don’t pay the 25€ extra for each night for the right of AC. Then, nor in Amsterdam. not that convenient if you want need to com back the the room during the day from Ámsterdam.
- Karen (6/5): - Check in/out process was a pain, especially if you were arriving after 9pm. A cash deposit was taken upon check in but no receipt was given. No confirmation of booking/card details were checked. Next day, returned to hotel to find a note saying we had not paid although this was done via Expedia and they took and hid our luggage.
- Katie (7/5): Good - The balconies were nice. In room fridge. Carpet was an old shag. Kind of gross. Smoke detector was disconnected and there were spiderwebs ln the wires. Out of the 3 rooms booked only 1 had a shower - the other 2 had bathtubs only.
- Istvan (3/5): Poor -
- Lukáš (8/5): Very good - Very nice place to stay, stylish room. For this price pretty cool, if you are bit posh not for you :)) Deposit we didn't know that will be paid in cash.
- Tatum (4/5): could be better - good location The linen was torn, we were only given one cup for two people, no teaspoons for tea, no blankets, towels weren’t replaced every few days and we had to ask for bath mats.
when we arrived there was a bad smell and after a day we saw that bin in toilet hadn’t been cleaned.
the gentlemen’s that helped us when we first arrived was extremely rude.
- Wojciech (2/5): Very poor - Nothing The room was dirty, and I found other people's hair in the bathtub, so it kinda sucks. I didn't expect much, but come on! I expected it to be at least cleaned up before my arrival. Oh, and the room smelled of some kind of fungus or sth. I don't recommend staying there longer.
- Merve (10/5): everything was amazing as described - clean and warm
- Van (6/5): Pleasant - the shower is way to small. have to stand on all fours to shower yourself
- Raghav (7/5): Good -
- Joe (7/5): Nice place and warm well rated - Carpet
- Ivana (7/5): Good -
- Juan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Olga (4/5): Disappointing - The location is good enough. Close to Amsterdam and the airport. Nearby there are many pizzerias and supermarkets that are open until 21:00. I haven't been in such bad hotels for a long time... especially in Europe. This level can be expected in Turkey, or in Romania, but not in the near suburbs of Amsterdam. First, we went through a quest to get the keys, they had to be picked up in a completely different hotel. When we entered the hotel room, it smelled very badly of dampness and mold. The window was clogged with nails, I had to sleep with the balcony door open. Lots of broken stuff in the room. In the shower too. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't want to go there again.
- Ljp23 (7/5): Good - Large comfortable room. Great coffee shop nearby. Not convenient location, an hour to get to airport or downtown.
- Andre (5/5): Passable - The interphone in the building was terrible, was not possible to understand what the receptionist was saying . The room had a strange smell, the soap in the bathroom was bad, the mattress needs to be changed
- Catalin (6/5): it was a nice experience and I would gladly come again if I would know that the mattres and the pillows are changed. - I liked the location, it was quiet, close to supermarkets, close to Amsterdam city, it was clean, spacious bathroom, the room has a table and flat tv. the bed mattress is very uncomfortable, I think it is old. the pillows as awfully uncomfortable as well. the Wi-Fi was very weak, especially in the evenings, it was not working at all
- Rose E (2/5): - This place should be remove from this site. It’s not a hotel it’s an old, musty, unclean room. It’s extremely far from Central Amsterdam and expensive to go to the city, and there’s nothing around to do or a decent place to eat. It’s a 15-20 minutes walk from the train to the hotel and to check in is another mile away with a $50 euro CASH deposit. Avoid this place at all cost! No room service, the carpet smell, horrible, room is stuffy, no working phone, WiFi is terrible, TV one working channel. Beside the neighbor felt safe, bathroom and balcony nothing about this place is worth your time or money. Take your
money somewhere else.
- Bonnen (3/5): Poor -
- Salisar (8/5): Very good -
- Arkadiusz (3/5): Room was okay but mouse inside and host ignorance cause that we won’t stay here again. - comfortable bed and big bathroom with bath inside There is no option to contact with host. He didn’t response to our messages. We got the room with mouse inside and we had to fight with it for half the night. The owner had ignored us and did not response to any of our requests. In the room were cups for drinks but would be nice if there were also teaspoons.
- Brenda (1/5): it was horrible, would not recommend staying here. - the staff was great. the owner lied about the ac and I got really sick from the dusty fans. no apology or compensation for the false ad that there was ac. I do see he has changed his add, but that didn’t help us. I would not recommend this location at all. Owner false advertising about ac when is was really warm when we were there and no compensation for his false advertisement. really should be
refunded for the lack of ac and dusty fans that made me sick, just to try and stay cool while sleeping.
- Silvia (5/5): It’s ok if you won’t spend time in there and you are a heavy sleeper - I had a terrace in my room. The sheets and towels smelled like they were cleaned a long time ago, they didn't smell good. The mattress was bumpy and the pillows uncomfortable to sleep on. I didn’t have a proper shower, just a massive bath in which you wash sitting in a little bench. The room is poorly insulated, it got very hot with the morning sun and i could clearly hear all sort of noise coming from the stairs and other rooms. They say you can contact them via whatsapp but they will likely not reply to you.
- Marcin (8/5): Not too bad - The different location for the reception and the hotel itself was unnecessary annoyance… besides that no complaints
- Simon (8/5): - It was fine
- Malcolm (2/5): - Bad hotel, they did not come to clean the room once!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - There was poo and sperm on the walls, the rooms were cold - no heating. This isn’t a clean safe place to stay
- Brent (8/5): Neat room and area - Listing says laundry on site, its actually at another hotel they own. Love the neighborhood, airplanes fly close overhead. Would stay again.
- Catriona (8/5): - Great place, great location and would definitely recommend. A lovely trip.
- Eidabosido (10/5): - It’s very nice hotel and the room has balcony it’s very good in morning to take coffee
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I could go on for hours about how amazing this place is. Honest the location is amazing, not too long of a walk from the train, the bakery down the streets fresh Orange juice and fruit are to die for and dont me started on the Chinese restaurant across the street and down a block. 😭😍 there is a park with a petting zoo tucked away behind the lidel grocery store as well. Beds were nice, room was clean, and the balcony was too cute. The only thing was the airplanes landing all night, nothing a set of ear plugs couldn't fix tho!
- Kristina (10/5): Loved it - This hotel was sooooo nice. I would definitely stay again. Just take my advice and take the train into Amsterdam (it's only two stops and 3 bucks) compared to a $60 uber/cab. Loved the tub, the decor, the room size, the bed. Very nice for a romantic evening.
- Rylie (10/5): Recommend! - Great place to crash when exploring the city of Amsterdam. The location is quiet and therefore has little to offer around the hotel but it’s an easy 25 min train ride to central Amsterdam where all the shops, restaurants and activities are! Really appreciated having a quiet, clean room to go to after long days of walking. Check in was easy and attentive to our needs with great service :)
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Doesn't look anything like the photos at all! In a run down part of town and everything in general was just strange and odd about it... Water in tub didn't work either
- Martin (6/5): - Very little unique about the property. On arrival, there was no one at reception and we saw no reception staff for the five day duration. 'Reception' is an intercom voice that tells you the code to the front door. That was the last human voice we heard from management-staff.
While the room was modern and we'll decorated, the amount of human hairs that we found on the duvet, cups etc was appalling. A shag-pile carpet that appeared to be rarely vacuumed was the obvious source of these hairs. Manager was informed and he apologised.
I'm not sure how often bed sheets should be changed - ours were not changed during our five day stay - in what was a very warm Easter period.
The bathroom was clean and modern. That is the only positive comment one could honestly make about this otherwise unhygienic and rather bleak accommodation.
- Renate Knutsen (8/5): - Had a good time.
- Polly (8/5): - Arrived early morning, the hotel staff were accommodating and allowed us to check in a little earlier than what was stated on website. Supermarket only 3 mins walk. Only downside is that we turned the heating on full however it did not heat up the room and was was still very cold.
- David (10/5): Stay at Villa Monte Dana - Very nice room, very friendly hosts and very comfortable tub.
- Deimante (2/5): Awful never again - False advertisement was showing rooms with Jet-tub and there is none payed extra for room with jet-tub and there is none never got the money back for paying extra for it !!!
- Tony (10/5): Superb location - Supberb location, great place to stay for a smoker. Would like to also add that the service provided by egor was impeccable . 10 out of 10 service .
- Redmond (10/5): Nice spot - Lovely location , only 15 min walk to the train and 10 mins to Ams Central, or if you fancy a more laid back day head ten mins in the opposite direction to Haarlem , and Igor is a good host . I will return
- Mohammad hossein (10/5): - Good stay
- Dr. Rick (8/5): Not fancy, bit nice clean hotel. - Clean large bed, and room. Loved the porch. Polite and helpful staff. Bonus: free airport shuttle! About 1km from train depot. Also has some restaurants and mini markets close by. I would definitely stay here again.
