Guest Reviews
- Philipe (4/5): - The aircondition was bad in the executive room.
- Justin (10/5): - Wonderful place, excellent location, great breakfast, and above and beyond service. Recommend
- Douglas (8/5): Good local hotel - This hotel is well situated for the main street and has good facilities from the roof top bar with pool to the large choice of TV channels in the room.
I booked for one room for 2 adults and 1 child so was surprised when the hotel charged me for an extra bed. Something not right in the Expedia booking perhaps.
Other than that all was very good. Will stay there in next visit.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good Hotel - Nice medium size hotel in the malioboro area
- Verified traveler (2/5): The only good thing is the location :( - The bed was hard as the floor. They charge for extra pillows.
Breakfast is not nearly as good. It was uncomfortable for the price. The only good thing is the location
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean and cozy p;ace - when we check in, we got smoking area floor, so we are very disappointed...we have to move to a non-smoking floor bedrooms. Actually, the reception could ask us before wether we like that smoking area or not, coz we are all women, except 1 person. Then 1 room got a corner room and the next day we have to move to another room. But overall, the Hotel is quite nice, clean and a lot variety of breakfast, walking distance to Malioboro
- Verified traveler (6/5): - My room was smelling to humidity and some mildew could be seen in the walls and headboard of bed. They should improve maintenance a lot.
- Clem (10/5): Excellent hotel with a very minor problem - Very modern and clean hotel that's well worth the price, includes an amazing Indonesian style breakfast and is equipped with incredibly fast WiFi internet and lots of English TV Channels. Rooftop pool was very nice and staff was super-friendly.
The only con that I would give the hotel is that there's hallway music that plays traditional Indonesian music which is nice, but it repeats over and over again and it was a little bit too loud close to our room. We would hear it early in the morning before waking up for the day and when we got back from our early morning Boroburdur and Prambanan tour, it was hard to nap with it playing and it was a bit grating.
Overall, this hotel was well worth the price and the location of it near Jalan Malioboro was great with access to lots of shopping and outdoor eateries.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Recomended!!! - Overall, Its Great Hotel. Clean Friendly staff. But diss appointed just our room located in the corner no nice view only see aircondition boxes
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice location, good rooms, good service, nice pool. cannot complain about anything.
- Colin (6/5): Beware if booking a room with a child - I booked a room for two adults and one child (specifying that the child is a 15 year old)
I was surprised when we turned up that there was only one bed in the room and I was expected to share with my 15 year-old step-daughter.....
We had been upgraded as the original room was not available (this would have had one bed too albeit a normal size double).
On insisting that we wanted an extra bed, I was told that we would be charged for an extra person(!). This was strange as we as we had already booked and paid for 3 people.
OK, the booking confirmation did say "one bed" but, I have never encountered this issue (even when it is just the two of us there is often a spare bed).
I saw on my booking confirmation that we could get a roll-out bed for 250,000 rupiah per stay.
So, as the discussion was getting nowhere, I decided to go for that option.
Only to find that the hotel interpretted that as "per night".....
This was the hotel policy and the Expedia page is "incorrect".
Anyway, after calling Expedia, Expedia have said that they will recompense us for the (unecessary) extra cost of the roll-out bed.
- Nikhil (10/5): Good location and excellent rooms - Staff was very friendly. Rooms are in very good condition and for the price these will not be beaten. Will stay here again for sure
- John (10/5): - Nice tidy hotel in convenient location. Overall a good experience.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to train station and tourist area - Close to train staion and tourist area with many cafes. ATM next door. Staff was friendly and the pool on the roof was nice.
- Dr S N Mukherje (10/5): Good Ambience, Very Clean, Superb Hospitality/Food - We had a pleasant experience during (13 - 17 June 2016) our stay in this hotel. They had arranged a car with a driver for IDR 550,000 for a time duration of 12 hours for visiting Mendut Temple and Monastery, Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, and Ratu Boko.
We had pre-arranged a taxi for going to the Airport while returning, but the taxi driver did not turn up at 5.00 AM. On our request, the reception staff came to our rescue and quickly arranged a taxi for our return trip. It was a great help.
Besides, the reception staff had packed our breakfast nicely early in the morning.
The exemplary customer service provided by the staff, such as Triyoko, Bianca, Rengga and Lia is commendable. The housekeeping staff and the staff in the restaurant were cordial and hospitable. ALL of them deserve our sincere appreciation.
We would certainly consider to stay in this hotel during our next visit.
- Ng (10/5): Happy stay - I'm happy to stay in this hotel is whenever i met their staff, they always give me a smile & very helpful. I feel so comfortable during my stay in this hotel. Best hotel is not just the hotel itself, it also apply to all the staff image.
- William (6/5): Good service.... but BAD room given. - Room 529 given was the very last room on the top floor. Was very disappointed by the room setting as compared to other room I saw when door was ajar. Although the room was big, bed was set at the end of the room directly beside the window, leaving a lot of un-useable space in the room. This room is definitely NOT child friendly as the window opens easily and any toddler at height 0.9m can open the loose latch and access the opening!!!
A pop up tile besides the bed can give a nasty cut to feet anytime too.
Comfort of bedding..... bed feels damp and pillow is one of the worst... totally worn/ out of shape cotton.
The bathroom was extremely small!!!
- Zulkafli (10/5): Nice and recommended - Good hotel and the room also was clean. The location was strategic, good service and facilities.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Good hotel just off Maliboro Rd - Great hotel , centrally located ,just off Maliboro rd, easy to access all the sights, nice pool, helpful staff, would stay here again.
- Shih Chang (8/5): Good hotel. Excellent servce. Strategic location. - When we reached the hotel, the check-in process for the rooms were very fast. The staffs were polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel and the rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. In the hotel, the food for the breakfast was many choices, very good. The waiters and waitresses were polite and friendly, gave good service to the customers. The location of the hotel was very good. The Malioboro Street was nearby and within walking distance, approximately 150 meter away from the hotel. You could found The Malioboro Mall, restaurants and shops at this busy street.
- Verified traveler (2/5): good location terrible experience - The location is decent with easy access to shops and street stalls.
The service was friendly and good but that was it.
Our bed was as hard as rock. It felt like sleeping on the floor. The smell in the room was bad. The towels which were suppose to be clean had stains and discoloured. This was the same for the quilt cover. The wifi was very slow and frustrating. The TV channels kept dropping out with some freezing and not working again.
Would not recommend staying here to anyone.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 1)Poor wifi service, only can access at lobby
and
2)Shower soap for body and shampoo for hair are very low quality. Hotel uses same liquid for both cleansing.
- LEE LEE (8/5): Quite Good. - everything are acceptable ,only the white towels look yellowish and old. feel uncomfortable to use.
- Mike (8/5): nice and comfy - Every time i come to this hotel i always greeted with friendly smile and great assistance. Breakfast is nice but unorganized (perhaps it was a Christmas holiday season). When i just put my meal and wanted to get a cup of tea, my table was occupied and the plate already removed even though i have not eaten! I made a complain the staff took a note but im not sure whether they take any action? Other than this everything else is good.
- Genki Oyagji (10/5): Near Malioboro street-SUPER staff - Stayed 4 days -- Definitely would stay here again!
A family hotel with nice pool on roof.
- chong teck (10/5): Good value 3 star hotel - Highly recommended for the price. New hotel with nice breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - One of the better choice hotels near Malioboro. Good service, good choice for breakfast & location is good
- I Nyoman B (10/5): - The hotel was great, excellence. we enjoy..!!we had nice breakfast.
Everything fantastic.this is great hotel, thankz
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location, great service - It was great and comfort! The best thing about this hotel is the location and the service. Plus, the staffs are very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable and close to everything in town - Good location, On a quieter side street, about 5 minutes walk to Malioboro Mall.
Clean, safe and more modern, but still located in a local area.
- Stephen (8/5): Great breakfasts! - Really comfortable and close to everything. Only small issues were the laundry service (tragic) and getting the attention of the bar staff. Overall really good!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel option - If you are looking for a decent hotel without going for the Sheraton level this is a good option. Central location and good service.
- Verified traveler (8/5): I'll be back! - 4 Days and 3 Nights All my colleagues also said this hotel very omfort with this value of money
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great hotel. Location was okay as it was difficult to find good inexpensive food nearby.
- Bruce (6/5): Close to Moliboro - Nice clean hotel at good value close to Moliboro. Only problem is the Bed is TOO HARD.
- Surya (8/5): Good hotel near Malioboro street - One night is not enough. We have a goodsleep in this lovely hotel. The bedroom & bathroom just good. About location, the hotel is only 1 minute walking from malioboro street, it is good for shopping. we recommend this hotel for traveler who loves to shop or sightseeing in malioboro with family.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Dafam, a nice surprise! - Perfect for a short stay to see Jogja!
- Goh (8/5): clean small hotel - since that this is a new hotel, room is clean but small, walk 10 minute to maliobora street. breakfast is very simple.
- Novita (6/5): Great location, minimal room & no Internet - Room is very minimal but breakfast were great. I chose this hotel because of its location. It is located minutes away by foot to Malioboro. Inspite of the minimal room condition and amenities and no Internet connection, I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice and comfortable hotel with delicious breakfast buffet included, and it is located within walking distance to Malioboro street, highly recommended
- Hoon Kiau (8/5): Nice hotel with reasonable price - Hotel is clean. Bed is comfortable. Service is good. Location is strategic.
- Robin (6/5): Centrally situated - Very central for all the sights (Kraton, Water Castle, Bird Market etc. ) Room spacious and clean only drawback is the sound insulation between the rooms. You can hear everything next door and outside in the corridor. The first night we had very noisy neighbours. The reception restaurant area is very noisy. Lunchtime is like the play area in IKEA. If you want quiet, this isn't it. Rooftop bar at sunset is a must.
- Roz (8/5): Short city stay in Yogyakarta - Pro: Good value and good accessibility within city
Con: Pillow charged for extra and buffet breakfast not much choice.
- Roz (8/5): Good short stay in city - Pro: Good value for the clean hotel room and easy walking distance to all sightseeing within city.
Con: They charged for additional pillow when requested and buffet breakfast can be improved.
- raden (8/5): Nice hotel, close to interest places in yogyakarta - Good, nice, clean, cheap and comfort hotel. Too bad the parking area is so small n limited. Need to fix that.
- Syaifurrahim (10/5): Excellent room at the centre of Jogjakarta - The hotel was good for staying. Big room, neat bed room and everything good. Replacing towel will increase impression for customer to stay longer.
- lim (6/5): location a bit far - the staff is friendly and helpful , iwould lioke to stay if the price is lower.
- nice (6/5): Not bad - Comfort, little bit far from the main road malioboro
- Halil (6/5): HOTEL STAY - 1. Toilet flush leaking hence noisy especially at night.
2. Pillows too small and chargeable!
3. Bath towel small and very thin. Soaked water after each use.
4. No hand towel and hair dryer provided.
5. Iron loan restricted to 3hrs per use!
- lee (10/5): Best hotel for its price at Dagen Street/Malioboro - Hotel is new. Rooms clean and cozy. Rooftop buffet on Saturday was only 60,000 rupiah. Service was great. 2 mins walk to Malioboro. Highly recommended to S'poreans and Malaysians
- ziha (8/5): Nice hotel at malioboro - Best location.
Room - size, condition OK.
Staff - helpful.
Food - OK
- Kwan Tuck Y. (8/5): Nice hotel closes to town center. - Dafam Fortuna Hotel is close to town for shopping center. also the Sultan Palace.
Hotel staffs are friendly and speaks good English. Breakfast is simple but good enough for us.
- Roy (6/5): nearby highlight - it was nearby marlioborostreet thats why i choose for this hotel. but last year was the breakfast more choice.
- SENTHILKUMAR (8/5): New hotel very clean and efficient service as well - Recently built and well maintained rooms. Ideal location and good for family stay as well as business
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good place to stay near Malioboro - Clean and comfy room. Friendly staff. The only slight negativ point was that the room was always somehow damp. Couldn't figure out the reason for this - suspect poor airflow.
- Sararh (8/5): Good location in the town centre - Great size room, in a nice hotel a few minutes from the busy Malioboro street. Loved the rooftop pool and bar.
- martin (8/5): small room - The room is so small compared to equal hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): nice place - its just few minute to see malioboro the famous street in Yogyakarta
- Steven (8/5): Budget 3-star hotel - Generally, my stay in this hotel is good. The only let down is the WiFi. coverage. The WiFi signal in the rooms and lobby is very weak and is not acceptable by any standard.
- Wimas (6/5): Our rooms were moldy - Our rooms were moldy. we booked 3 rooms. My husband got asthma attack from it. I told the hotel we would like to move to different rooms, he said the hotel was fully book so we could not do that. I called hotels.com customer service to complain. They talked to the manager and he moved one of the rooms to a better one. after that the Manager was super nice to us.
- Brian Ho (10/5): Nice decent hotel located at Dagen st. - Very good service staff ard. Nice breakfast with different varieties everyday. Comfy room to rest and sleep. Very big shower head. Soothing music at walkway. Only wifi reception not really fast enough. Bbq nite on Saturday' night is value for money and choices plenty. With a live band to accompany the meal is a plus factor. The fnb manager is very helpful. Tq so much for accomodating my 3 nights stay.
- Mike (8/5): nice and cosy - when i arrived i was greeted warmly by the belboy. The receptionist is very friendly, and the staff whom took my luggage was also nice. All staff are really excellent made me feel so welcome. The room is nice and cosy. Breakfast is average but alright. I really enjoy my stay in this hotel and recommend this to other traveller.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Reasonable price hotel at the convenient location - Room was clean, the sound proof was poor, could hear noise from upstairs and next door. Have to be more creative with breakfast choice. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Strategic location, really convenient.
- jynxers (6/5): at best, a three start hotel - Hi again. Booked this hotel for a looooong week while searching for a house to rent with my fiance. Here is what you should know if you are going to stay here. btw..I have been traveling around Indonesia for 20 years and know Yogyakarta well. Only stay here if you don't mind a hotel that really needs a good cleaning, that has beds that are so firm it feels like you are sleeping on a platform, that plays annoying loud ambient gong music throughout the hotel beginning at 6am, and only moderately makes up the room every day. The coffee and breakfast was pretty good, but tough to find a seat. excellent location and fairly quiet. That's about it
- Thomas Ong (10/5): My wonderful stay at Dafam Fortuna Malioboro - All in all, I had a wonderful stay in Dafam Fortuna Malioboro. For the price that I paid for, it was a great room. It well cleaned and maintained. It was comfortable too.
The staff were most helpful and friendly. They speak English well too. On my check in day, I was told I had to wait a while as my room was not ready yet. Not surprising as I arrive an hour and the half before official check in time at 2pm. However as soon as the room was ready at 1.30pm, I was immediately checked into my room.
The food at this restaurant was good too. That includes the breakfast.
Overall I am most satisfied and will strongly recommend this hotel to other people.
- Peidut (8/5): Great Location - The room too small. Not too clean. But i love the location. A lot of food & delicious fried rice nearby hotel. The breakfast not delicious. Maybe must change the chef. But overall i love to stay here.
- Rinaldi (6/5): Great Location - Comfy and Good
- Sue (8/5): Great location! - Defam was a very easy place to stay. The breakfast in the morning was very good too! Bed comfy! I'd suggest it!
- Yap (8/5): Comfy beds and great location - Hotel's location is good and hotel looks new. Rooms are rather small but just enough for a couple of nights stay. Breakfast has not much choices. However, hotel's service is acceptable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great service, great location - We really enjoyed our stay. All of our questions and requests were met with willing service. We loved that it was so close to Jl. Malioboro which is where all the souvenier shopping happens. It was withing walking distance of Pizza Hut, KFC, and McDonalds and also the mall. The breakfast was yummy, even though it was mostly Indonesian food. At least it was free. The pool is quaint. Doesn't get deeper than about 5 ft, perfect for kids. The view isn't spectacular but its ok. Lots of comfy seating around the pool.
- Syuhaida (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Affordable rate with good services, clean and comfortable room, near shopping area and attractions.
