• mo (7/5): Lovely little hotel. - Staff were lovely and very accommodating. We had a very squeaky bed and they spent time and fixed it immediately. Location is great . Very clean too. Jackie the gorgeous cat was an added bonus. The only complaint we could make was the shower. It was not hot at all and it was cold in the morning and evening so a hot shower would have been great.

• Sue (9/5): Location and Price and Staff - This is a smaller, older style hotel. Our room was large with older style furnishings. Owner and staff friendly and happy to help. Location in a small lane way off one of the main roads but quite, you wouldn't know you are staying in one of the busy areas. Walking distance to everything. Unfortunately, the bathroom needed a good clean.

• Graham (10/5): one of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are superb! - This is my favourite and the perfect guesthouse for those wanting to stay somewhere in Chiang Mai that’s much more genuinely friendly than any hotel but without the lack of privacy and/or loud chaos of a backpackers. Ive stayed here several times now, after visiting Chiang Mai many many times and having tried various accommodations and different parts of town. But since I’ve discovered this little hidden gem, I’ll always stay here. The location is absolutely perfect for walking to and exploring the Old Town of Chiang Mai as well as walking less than 10 minutes to the two main food and entertainment areas of Chiang Mai. The location couldn’t be better! It literally suits all ages and it’s easy to meet people from around the world. I think Kamala, the owner, is so well travelled herself, is very friendly and super welcoming that her guesthouse attracts interesting (in a really good way) people. The staff are two lovely Thai women, Beer and Nong. There’s a really cute little cafe and bar area downstairs with outdoor seating and a little courtyard area. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for such a good location. Nothing really
• Kurt (10/5): - Kamela und ihr kleines Team sind das beste das ich in all meinen Reisen erfahren durfte. Die Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft sind beispiellos. Die Lage nur wenige Meter von der Altstadt entfernt (Tha Phae Gate) ist perfekt um die schöne Stadt zu erkunden. Man fühlt sich in dem Guesthaus von der ersten Minute an willkommen wie in einer große Familie. Bei Fragen zu Chiang Mai (Essen, Ausflüge, Massagen) haben Kamela und Team wertvolle Informationen die den Aufenthalt perfekt machen. Die Zimmer sind groß und sehr sauber. Selbst Kaffee, Tee und Wasser bekommt man umsonst. Wenn ich das nächste Mal nach Chiang Mai reise kommt für mich nur Kamelas Boutique Guesthaus in Frage.

• nikos gb (2/5): Not recommended! - Great location close to Tha Phae Gate. Kind and helpful lady at the reception. The room I was given, number 113, had no real windows, received no natural light, and had a strong smell + visible signs of mould that could affect health. I reported these issues upon arrival and requested a cancellation and refund. The property advised me to contact Booking.com, while Booking.com told me to contact the property. The only option available in the app was to cancel without a refund, resulting in the loss of 6 nights worth of booking... which I eventually did. While I was out looking for other accommodation nearby, I received a message from the property promising to move me to another room after spending 2 nights in this one. I accepted as a gesture of good cooperation, and because finding a new place would have required cancelling my planned activities for the day. 2 days later, on the morning I was supposed to move to a better room, I received another message asking me to stay an additional 2 nights in the same room under the same unbearable conditions, and that they would fix the mould issue. The reason was that the person staying in the "better" room extended their stay due to visa issues. At that point, I decided to leave the property and find alternative accommodation. On top of the entire inconvenience and losing my money, the property later accused me of being rude to the receptionist, which is completely untrue and they are fully aware of it. I’m sorry, but I do not recommend this property.

Bed linen was thread bare, the whole guest house was echo, meaning any noise would echo through place. I would not stay here again.money needs to be spent on property.

Think I had the last room available which was on the ground floor right next to reception so there was quite a lot of noise from folks hanging around until late. Cleanliness and facilities in the guesthouse and in the room not according to expectations and what was booked. There is a blow dryer, body soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, but no other toiletries such as hand soap. Locations is close within walking distance of the west side of Old Town which is nice, however not in a quiet place. Stayed there 2 night and both evenings there was festivities around and lots of noise. Cleanliness is not what I expected, see photos and there was no window with view. Also the included "late checkout" which was included in the booking, was not possible. Therefore I think the accommodation should review what they advertise with on booking.com so future travellers know what they can and can't expect.

• René (9/5): A good hotel at a great location with very friendly and helpful owner and staff - The hotel is located very close to the Tha Phae gate in a quiet alley. From here you have easy access to the old city, the Warorot market and the Night Bazaar. The hotel is good. The room was nice and comfortable. Mrs. Kamala was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. And the staff was nice and friendly too. The WiFi was ok. The coffee/tea were free. I had a pleasent stay at this hotel. I would stay here again on my next visit to Chiang Mai. Nothing specific.
• Kamila (8/5): Great location, very friendly and helpful owner and staff. - Location was fantastic, staff and owner were super friendly and helpful. We arrived during the Loi Krathong festival and owner was giving us tips on where to go to see everything. Room was large, with comfortable beds, good aircon, water supplied daily and little things like a desk and somewhere to hang your clothes was nice to have. Oh and there were two cute cats hanging out in the reception area, a bonus for the kids :) Only knocked off a couple of stars because of the bathroom. There is a shower curtain but the water does tend to drain not in the shower itself, but travels into the bathroom and drains next to the toilet, so a fair portion of the bathroom gets wet. And the water itself was not hot at any point during our 3 night stay, neither in the shower or the taps. It wasn't such an issue after a long hot day to have a cool shower, but it would have been nice to have warm water. And the pillows were quite hard. Having said that, I would stay here again!

Just opposite to the Tha Phae Gate which attracts a lot of tourists from different countries. The night markets are at walkable distance and not to miss, Kamala is a great host who takes care of her guests really well.

• Hilton (6/5): Okay for the price - Great location. Across the road from Taphae Gate and next to McDonalds. The room was quiet of a night time. The air-conditioning was good. Room was made up daily and new water provided. The bathroom had mold on the back of the door which I was able to wipe off with some tissue, so this could have been easily cleaned by staff. The room didn't feel very secure as anyone can just walk in off the street (we were in the building next to the main one that had the cafe and reception). The lamp in our room was broken and we asked three time via messenger and directly with the cleaning staff to get a new bulb. The light was never fixed. The bed was very hard. When we returned to Chiang Mai, we stayed next door at the Imm Hotel for one night instead.

The room was comfortable, clean bed linen but overall for the price it was a good choice. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in reception area and free of charge. Our room faced the street which had lots of noisy extractor fans from the McDonaalds next door, so if you are a light sleeper this may be an issue. The shower completely floods the bathroom.
