A banheira que vemos na foto não tem água quente. O hotel cobrou 50 reais para guardar minha malinha por 3 horas e meia, ou seja, um valor equivalente ao proporcional da diária!! A vista é meia boca para Santa Teresa e o café da manhã idem.

A localização é ótima, muito perto do Largo dos Guimarães, com diversas opções de restaurantes, bares, lojas e farmácia. A vista é uma delícia e o lugar é de muita tranquilidade, silencioso. Gostamos de tudo, só sentimos falta de uma piscina! A hidro é com água fria e não pega muito sol.

• David (7/5): The freindliest owner ever, great location, amazing views, just a little shabby - The owner was so friendly and helpful, really exceptional, the view from the terrace at breakfast is amazing. A nice breakfast with fresh fruit, cheese, pastries cereals etc. The location is great just 10 minutes walk down a steep hill, to Largo dos Guimareas, where there is really nice vibe, lots of cafes, shops and bars, and the tram and bus stop. The security is good, and the hotel had a nice relaxed vibe. the room was spacious, had air con , and an ok small bathroom. It is 20 metres from Solar Real, a popular event venue, if you were attending a wedding there (or anything ) it would be a very good place to stay. this place is great, but you can see it has been very smart maybe 20 years ago, so in parts the room is a bit shabby. There was no hot water, no plug in the sink, no glass, and no shampoo or shower gel. The spa/hot tub , seen on the photos, would be amazing as it is perched on the edge of the terrace with an amazing view, however, the water was green and it was out of use. This wouldn't stop me going there, the owner makes up for it as he is so attentive friendly and helpful.

• Chris (9/5): Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden immer wieder kommen. - Wir hatten erst nur für zwei Nächte gebucht und haben auf fünf Nächte verlängert. Es war zum Trubel an der Copacabana ein sehr schöner entspannter Ausgleich und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Unterkunft liegt im Herzen des Künstlerviertels Santa Teresa und bietet eine wahnsinnig schöne Aussicht über die Stadt. Das gesamte Personal war super nett. Das Frühstück war auch vollkommen ausreichend und es wurde immer wieder nachgefragt ob man noch etwas haben möchte. Die gesamte Anlage war sehr schön, es gab einen Whirlpool und einen Billardtisch. Sie gesamte Atmosphäre war sehr erholsam.

• Fabiano (4/5): It’s a rather limited guesthouse, and we would not recommend it. - Great location in Santa Teresa, close to Largo dos Guimarães, with several restaurants, a supermarket, a pharmacy and even a cinema nearby. There’s an excellent restaurant on the same street. Breakfast is simple but pleasant, and it is served on a terrace with a beautiful view of the Rio–Niterói Bridge. The room was not clean enough when we arrived. The bathroom only has mechanical ventilation and there is a strong smell of mold. It is also difficult and time‑consuming to adjust the shower temperature. The entrance gate is completely closed and reception can take a while to open it, so if you arrive by taxi, ask the driver to wait for a bit for safety. If you are a foreigner, the staff has difficulty communicating in English. We also noticed some conflicts among the team.

O quarto era confortável e bem limpo. Senti que faltaram algumas coisas básicas, tipo xampu e condicionador no banheiro. No box também não tinha nenhum nicho para apoio para os itens. O café da manhã deixa a desejar pelo valor da estadia, é pouco diverso e a qualidade das comidas poderia ser melhor.

• Lisa (9/5): - Die Unterkunft liegt ruhig, mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf Rio. Die Unterkunft ist toll gestaltet, alles sehr grün, man fühlt sich ein bisschen wie in einem kleinen Dschungel. Alles ist sehr sauber und die Gastgeber sind toll, sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir können auch nicht bestätigen, dass es schwierig war, ein Uber zu finden wegen der Lage. Wir haben auch nachts immer schnell ein Uber gefunden. Wer etwas abseits vom Trubel in Rio übernachten will, ist hier genau richtig. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen! Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Unfortunately they only provide one key even though we’re being two guests and needing the to open the gate to leave the hotel. Also, we had some problems with the AC, it was leaking all night over the bed. Breakfast could be a little bit better for the price we paid.

• David (4/5): Disappointing stay - The views are nice and the balcony was decent. The breakfast was okay. Bathroom decent. We stayed in late April - May so off-season I think. You can do Santa Teresa in a day, I wouldn't advise staying here for long unless you're a looking for a quiet holiday. Stick to Ipenama or Copacabana. It did have great views and pretty grounds. However the property feels confused - somewhere between apartments, a hostel and a hotel. No food shops nearby. Very few bars or restaurants. Extremely hilly and hard to get to. Taxis kept getting lost. There was a broken light in our room, didn't turn on and was hanging off the wall. The Aircon was very loud and slightly broken, it wouldn't swing and had no auto setting so would just constantly spit out cold air even during the night when it stopped being needed. The rooms are not soundproofed as advertised - one night dogs barking kept us awake for a while. The staff, while lovely and as helpful as possible, do not speak any English as advertised, this was one of the main reasons we booked as our Portuguese is very bad. We accidentally wandered into private houses below the hotel while looking for the bar, which had no signposting or restriction whatsoever which was a little awkward. No staff ever seemed to be around to get drinks such as water or beer from the locked fridge, only saw them for an hour in the morning. I'm unsure if this is what they mean by minibar, the rooms only have a fridge unstocked. Given that we were told not to bring any alcohol into the hotel and there was no shops around without paying for a taxi, we found this frustrating. Having no one a around to ask for guidance was also quite unsettling for us and not what we would expect from a hotel. We ended up getting an Airbnb in Ipenama after two nights which was much better both location wise and price. The hot tub, you have to ask for it to be prepared an hour in advance and I believe isn't always available - we never ended up using it.
• Panthea (10/5): lovely place - we loved to stay in this beautiful place it has beautiful scenery, with both view of the whole city and the garden, the garden is eqiupped with a jacuzzi, pool table and lounge, the room was clean and modern, the view from balcony was amazing, we also enjoyed a lovely breakfast, it is a couple of minutes walk to the pretty square in santa teresa

They charged money to keep the luggage after check out for a couple of hours (definitely not a hotel standard) highly not recommended. Overpriced and rooms are smelly and not cleaned

For the price charged (£200/night due to NYE), it's a mediocre place: the room is tiny and lacks basic amenities (no shampoo in the room, etc.), the curtains were hard to open, no lock, and everything was old and outdated. The breakfast is industrial, apart from the fruits.

• A (8/5): Very good - We only stayed for a few hours but the front desk person was incredibly kind and understanding and the bed was super comfortable! The location was also great. A short walk to the main restaurants in Santa Teresa and about a 20 minute Uber to Centro. I think the description in the listing on Booking.com mentions things that are specifically available for the more expensive suites so just make sure you know what to expect based on the particular suite you're picking.

• Ian (5/5): Fabulous hotel & views, but with poor service & poor breakfast - Fabulous views both from bedroom and from outside breakfast area, and in a very tranquil area of the city. The bedroom was furnished to a very high standard. On the morning I checked out, I asked the hotel to keep my bag until 7pm, when I'd leave for the airport. They refused to do so, which caused me considerable inconvenience. In addition, the food served at breakfast showed signs of cost-cutting, with fruit squash provided instead of fruit juice, and very low quality bread rolls & yoghurt.

The views are spectacular and there's lots of outdoor space to enjoy. Rooms comfortable and very clean. We were fine but it is on a steep hill which you need to walk up and down to get to the bars and resturants. Very little English spoken, but there always Google translate!
