- Fathiah (8/5): - The room is quite spacious. All amenities were available to you. Even provided bowls and stuff. Sometimes can be a bit noisy, but still acceotable

- Lisa (6/5): Ok for one night - It is very close to the bus station where we had to go the next morning. Rooms are quite little and a bit smelly like someone smoked there before

- Lien (10/5): The room is nice and clean, also they have spa inside the Hotel. - The Hotel is closed to restaurants, coffees shop also close to the market. Receptionist is very nice and helpful.
- Andrew (4/5): Smells like cigarettes - Spatious room and nice bathroom All rooms and whole hotel smells like cigarettes.
- Shampy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chloe (4/5): would not reccomend - Woman at reception didn’t believe we had a booking and didn’t let us check in for a while, she thought we had booked wrong hotel however I think she just didn’t want us to stay there.
room smelt of cigarettes
very noisy guests at 1 am and no hotel
staff told them to be quiet
not friendly atmosphere for foreigners
- cerios (6/5): A mixed bag - First of, the good things: The rooms in this hotel are really nice and pretty new. Lovely bed, and probably the nicest looking bathroom I have seen in a 3 star hotel in Asia. It also had a really wel stocked minibar, big tv, good internet and a great aircon.
The bad: It says no smoking in the room, though the sign is placed next to the ashtray. Smoke from the lobby (which also have a no smoking sign next to an ashtray) was pulled into the room when the bathroom fan was on. There were also a slightly funky smell in the room and the bathroom. This together with a bunch of ants in the bathroom made it not very pleasant.
The breakfast was a tragedy. One day we got an underfried egg and a baguette, without butter, and the other we had a noodle soup that didn't taste anything. And in case you were wondering; No you can't have both orange juice and coffee, you have to choose one.
Location is interresting. We loved it, but dont expect to find a lot of bars around, and be prepared to struggle when ordering food if you don't speak vietnamese. We managed using Google Translate, some hand signs and a lot of smiles. We hardly saw any western tourists in the area which for us was great.
- pengyiapt (8/5): Pleasant 1st Stopover of Mekong Delta Tour - 1st stop of my family tour of the Mekong Delta by road.
Touched down at HCMC in the late evening & booked Valentine for the night. It's near the bus station where we would take an aircon bus to Ben Tre the following morning.
Nice hotel near Chinatown where plenty of good food even late at night. Room was spacious & comfortable. Served vietnamese beef/pork noodles or eggs & baguette for breakfast. Value for $.
The lady at the Hotel reception was friendly & helpful, and speak fluent mandarin.
- Aquacool (8/5): Decent no-frills stay - Hotel is situated in a small alley and we couldn't find it when we arrived at night. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which had 2 single beds although each bed was big enough to my kid and me comfortably. The room had a faint cigarette smell -- there were ashtrays in the room (and hotel lobby too). For breakfast, you could choose baguette with eggs or Vietnamese pho (beef or pork, soup or dry).
- 154kelel (8/5): 2 star hotel impressive - Staffs were able to communicate in simple English. one even could speak Chinese with me. great. stayed 4 nights there.2 in the VIP and $1.5mil dong. with the Jacuzzi beside your bed. wow. 2 nights went into the cheapest room at $700k dong. very impressive too on the design and it looks new to me. noise insulation was very bad. aircon auto off.. sometimes have mosquitoes around. breakfast was almost the same everyday and I couldn't eat beef and got worse for me. eat bread everymorning. But it was served to your room! wow. location no good but I had a bike so no issue. internet connection not very good but still able to struggle throu. lol
- stesath (6/5): In no man's land - I got the feeling that this hotel was aiming more for Vietnamese customers rather than Western guests. The place is located in a boring district that holds little to no value for most visitors, and the staff doesn't speak English very well. They also insisted on keeping our passports until we checked out the next day, which never happened any other place in Vietnam.
We stayed here for one night because we were taking the bus to Ben Tre the next morning (the bus station is right around the corner). For this, the hotel served its purpose, and the rooms were quite nice and clean.
Breakfast was not included, but since we found no good places around to eat we ate at the hotel. Which meant that we were served rather bland noodles in the reception area.
Overall, a quite weird stay, though the hotel in itself is quite decent. I would never stay here as a tourist in Saigon though, and when we got back from the Mekong Delta we stayed more centrally located for just a few dollars more.
- NHTU (6/5): Value for money - It's just beautiful, love the place. The people working there didn't appear to be friendly but they were very helpful. The hotel isn't far from Dist 1. It's only cost around $5-$10 to most places in Dist 1 and other surrounding Dist. The hotel is just a bit off the main road, so if you need a taxi just let the receptionist know, won't take long before you see a taxi in front of the hotel.
- AmyA1200 (8/5): Good value when got room we booked - We stayed at this hotel for 3 night. Although the hotel was poorly located, we booked it purely for the VIP room which looked amazing on the photographs. On getting to the hotel, we were told they didn't have this room available but would put us in the room type below (superior). I asked if there was any space in the VIP room at any point during the stay, even if it was just for one night, but the receptionist said no. We agreed to go into the superior room as we had just arrived from the airport, after our flight was delayed 3 hours. However, on getting to the room and discussing it we decided we didn't really want to stay here in a different room, as the hotel was quite poorly located.
My boyfriend went down to reception and requested that we change the booking to stay just the one night, instead of the original 3. After discussing this for awhile, the receptionist said the VIP room was not available that night but we could be placed in there for the other 2 nights of the stay. Not sure how this was altered as I had already asked if it was available for any time during our stay. We got moved to the other room the next day.
The stay was very pleasant, and the room was very nice and as described. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there after the initial 'mix up'.
- Linnadolf (6/5): Good price but WORST location - We only stayed in Ho Chi Minh for 1 night and wanted to spoil ourselves a bit so we booked the hotel suite with the big bathtub in the middle of the room. For the cheap price it was worth it but maybe not as cosy as we expected it. The room was clean and stylish but a bit stiff (no paintings, flowers or cosy lamps) The bathtub (wich was not a jacuzzi) was nice but the waterpressure was kinda slow so it took a while to fill it. We were not happy with the location of the hotel. Since we didnt have the time to do any research about Ho chi Minh we trusted our bookingsite (hotels.com) wich said "great location". There wasnt any resturants at all on the street outside and we felt very lost when we wanted to find some place to have lunch. Also there was hard to get a cab in the evening when we wanted to go to district 1...
Also on hotels.com it said that the hotel were supposed to have a resturant but there was no resturant and also for you non-smokers: it was ok to smoke everywere inside of the hotel (even in the room and lobby)
- jennyonvacation (8/5): Be my Valentine (Hotel) - I recently stayed at the Valentine Hotel for a couple days from May 23 - 27, 2014 for my first time in Vietnam.
I chose this hotel based on location as it was closer to our family friends. It isn't near the hustle and bustle of the tourist district – whether that is a pro or con is up to you. I prefer being in a quieter area. It's also very easy to grab a cab.
I made a booking online through one of the many accommodation websites. I had emailed them to confirm a detail and they were quick with their replies.
After a long day of planes and airports, the Valentine Hotel was a welcomed relief. We checked in late, after 10pm. The receptionist seemed a bit confused about my check-in. He called the other staff to confirm an extra bed I had requested at the time of booking as well as to confirm my payment I had made prior to the stay. Fortunately it was quickly resolved and we were on our way to the rooms.
Exhausted and overwhelmed, we were pleasantly surprised by the modern decor of the room. We booked a standard double room. There was a lovely standing tub in the bathroom and the bed was comfy and the air conditioner was cool. There wasn't much noise from the street which was nice. Throughout my vacation in SE Asia, I've stayed at a handful of hotels. Valentine Hotel has the nicest interior and decor. It was a very welcoming site from from Canada and we were so pleased that we went with this hotel.
The hotel doesn't have a kitchen yet so you're on your own to get breakfast. The staff spoke English well and were always helpful. They were kind enough to look into booking train tickets for us.
I would recommend the hotel if you're looking for something in District 5.
- 75svenm (8/5): Do it (unless you thin you need in District 1) - Great value for the price. A little off the touristy pat. However, you'll get more of the real HCMC feeling (it's about 4 km to downtown-4 bucks in a cab). The hotel was still being built when I was there (March 2014), only the first four floors were done. So 2 or 3 times during my 13-day stay, I was woken up at 9 a.m. by furniture being moved upstairs or holes being drilled into walls. You can smoke anywhere in the hotel and the staff is helpful (but most of them don't really speak English. Those who do, however, are really cool and advise you in any way you can). Interesting architecture and good value for the money (I paid 25 bucks per night).
- 420PeterS (10/5): Great value, excellent service - This hotel is good value for the price. The room we had was big and comfortable, it even had a bath.
The breakfast was good with good choices.
The service was amazing, the guys at the reception new us by name even though we only stayed 2 nights.
The room was not that well lit and a neighbours dog decided to start barking in the I middle of the night. But these are the only things I could fault.
I would recommend a stay here
- Shan1987-penrith (10/5): Beautiful hotel good money value - The valentine hotel may not be located in the prime area for the average tourist but the places you will want to see are only a few Kms away so a taxi is easy to wave down to get to your destination
The rooms are amazing and great value.
This hotel is a new hotel so the top few floors (5-7) aren't finish yet but are on there way to being finished.
The only flaw I would give this hotel is the lack of English spoken it was a little hard to book tours and knowing they were fully organised properly but other than that we had great service a fantastic VIP room and enjoyed our stay in Ho Chi Minh city.
