tbcwilliams2455 (10/5): Quaint and Quiet Stay in Sewanee! - Very cute inn in the middle of the Sewanee campus. Our room balcony was overlooking the golf course. Limited services…no bellman, no room service. The bar and restaurant were very popular and busy. The drinks were great and the food was average. It is the “only inn in town” and the only place I would stay. I would definitely stay again.

Kara (10/5): Very convenient, comfortable stay when visiting the University of the South - We were in town for our daughter's Admitted Students day at The University of the South (Sewanee) and decided to splurge on a stay at the hotel. It was beautifully decorated with comfortabl beds, friendly staff, and spotlessly clean facilities. It's a little pricier than our typical hotel stays, but we knew that going into it.

The room was beautiful, and it was very quiet and peaceful. Loved being on the golf course and watching the daily groom first thing every morning! It was great having bottled water in the room too. The bathroom door slammed into the wall by the toilet; a doorstop of some sort would be helpful. The grits at breakfast weren't good (and we generally love grits). The rest of breakfast was fine.
misty (10/5): Quiet stay at the Sewanee Inn over Thanksgiving Holiday. - Very nice stay at the Sewanee Inn over Thanksgiving week. The Town/Campus/Inn was very quiet due to Holiday. The view was great overlooking the Golf Course. The dinners and drinks were very good. Our daughter enjoyed her campus Visit, which was just down the street from the Inn. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Fireplace was the perfect spot for a hot cocoa. Better lighting in restrooms. Too dim.

Joann (10/5): - Wonderful getaway with my sister. I have Celiac Disease. We had a couple of cocktails and decided to eat in the bar our first night. Bartender was kind to check with the kitchen for something gluten free that I could eat. It was delicious and satisfying salad with steak. Both bartenders graciously googled ingredients in the specialty cocktails to guarantee gluten free. The room was comfortable. The setting was serene plus! Walking trails through the woods just steps from the parking lot. The walk into town for a little shopping was gentle and scenic. All the staff were friendly and even the other guests were a delight. Keurig in the room as well as coffee offered in the lobby was, well, appalling to us lovers of strong dark roast. Next time I will bring my own coffee and a small mellita pot. Can't even nitpick about anything else.
Poppavino (10/5): A great stay - We only spent one night here but we loved it! The decor is elegant and fits tastefully in with the campus architecture and the surrounding forest. Very clean with very nice furnishings (the bed was GREAT!). They were sprucing up the hallways…a good sign they intend to keep their standards high! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and even provided what is now an “old fashioned” service: an evening turndown! The service for breakfast was also excellent but the food was a mixed bag. My Sewanee Inn Breakfast was good but my wife described her Eggs Benedict as “looking microwaved”! We are looking forward to another visit soon!!

There was a fire going in the lobby when we arrived which made it feel cozy. The beds were soft which made for a great nights sleep! We definitely would stay here again! We stayed here to go to The Caverns for an event so it was ideal location.

It took a very long time to get our food and my allergy info was not told to the kitchen, so my food contained ingredients I was allergic to but I fortunately saw it! My husbands food was room temp. I was disappointed in the value of my dinner. I paid $42 for scallops and had 3. Everything tasted great in spite of everything else.
Shane (10/5): - We had an absolutely fabulous stay here. We came just one night from Chattanooga for an anniversary dinner at High Point Restaurant (which is just about a 10 minute drive). The Inn is super clean and so comfortable. They do a turn down service and have bathrobes, the room even has an umbrella. We got a golf course view room, and had fun just watching them play by our window. The best part is the comfortable bed and bedding!

We go to Shakerag almost every week and enjoy the camaraderie and excellent service at the bar. Everyone visiting Sewanee or Monteagle should check it out.

We had expected a bit more hospitality here in Tennessee. The male bartender was less than kind. The front desk attendant at check in seemed bothered that we were checking in. Laura (6/5): Nice hotel, condescending guest services - The stay itself was nice enough, but upon checking in we were informed that we had two reservations. I only received confirmation for one. We got on the phone with both Expedia and Mr Hampton in guest services. Mr Hampton claimed the room was prepaid, but it was not and this was confirmed by Expedia. Mr Hampton insisted that only Expedia could refund us, but Expedia said they could not issue a refund because they did not collect the payment. Expedia authorized Sewanee Inn to issue a refund, but Mr Hampton refused. We finally asked and were transferred to someone else who explained they have a 72 hour cancellation policy to which I said I didn’t even know about the second reservation because I never received confirmation and asked how could I cancel a reservation that I didn’t know existed. I asked if they could make an exception to their cancellation policy and was told only the general manager has that authority. We still hope to resolve the issue.

Verified traveler (8/5): Wonderful weekend stay - We had a lovely stay at the Sewanne Inn. The lobby is beautiful and cozy and the staff was welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate us. Its proximity to the university is perfect for exploring the campus and hiking trails.We didn’t golf or tennis but the facilities looked nice. The breakfast at Shakerag restaurant is not to be missed. Overall, we had a rejuvenating stay.

Charm abounds everywhere ....... and the room was very comfortable and clean. We only had breakfast tere and I had " Eggs Benedict" which was superb and very reasonably priced at $12 I will continue to stay in this excellent Inn.

Mark (10/5): Wonderful Place to Stay - The property was beyond my expectations! I remember it many years ago and wasn't sure how it would be. I found out while staying there that the old property had been torn down and rebuilt all new. The rooms were very comfortable. The property offered a wonderful patio with firepits a bar and restaurant on site. Matthew was very helpful answering my questions about it. We only stayed for a night but would definately stay there again if visiting Sewanee! Thank you for an enjoyable and relaxing stay!

tracywI1379TZ (10/5): A Very Special Place - You can't beat Sewanee Inn. I went there recently to spend a couple of nights and decompress after my mother passed away. They were SO kind to me. There were chocolate covered strawberries in my room, and I upgraded to a room with a patio. They didn't charge me for the upgrade because of the circumstances. I have always loved staying at Sewanee Inn, but this stay surpassed them all. I sat on my patio, read books, and sipped wine. During the day I took long walks on the beautiful campus. In the evenings I had lovely meals in the restaurant. I feel restored. You won't be sorry if you stay here! (Shout-out to McKenna for being so kind!)

atfmemphis (6/5): Double rooms have **FULL** beds not queens as listed on website - "Queen" beds are actually full size in Room 221, despite what was listed on our bill. After an uncomfortable night of two to a bed (including 2 family members over 6 feet tall), we measured and they were in fact 54" full size mattresses with queen headboards. We would have reserved an alternative if we had known.

The Inn was amazing, the staff was wonderful, on site dinning delicious and we have stayed at many Five Star accommodations all over the U. S. Quiet, spacious, and comfortable. I seldom write reviews but this gem deserves one. We also enjoyed the variety of hiking trails nearby. A beautiful spot in Tennessee.

CQ1063 (10/5): What a beautiful stay!! - I had never heard of Sewanee, TN but while researching a drive from Savannah to Nashville, I came upon the Sewanee Inn as an option to stay for the night. The Sewanee Inn is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at! Lots of intricate woodwork throughout the lobby and restaurant and the room was immpeccably clean. The grounds and golf course are beautiful and the service is top-notch. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed every bite! Taylor, our server, was so sweet and attentive. I did not catch everyone's name, but every staff member we encountered was super helpful with tips for our free time. I hope to stay there again sometime!
JOHN (10/5): - Please don’t put people who don’t need handicap accessible facilities in a handicap accessible room without first telling them. I may look like I need that type room, but I really don’t. Shower was awful.
kathydL525AO (10/5): The stay was wonderful. Would stay again. - The bed and pillow were too soft, however we loved our stay at the inn. The personnel were very helpful and tried to make sure everything was fine with our stay. We would love to stay again. We hope to come in the fall for the color. We have a friend using this venue for her wedding in October. I know she will love it.

The place is impeccable and the inn is so welcoming and comfortable that I would not stay anywhere else. You will have no regrets and inn being so quaint next to the beautiful University of the South is an added plus

L9674OTjennifers (10/5): Simply The Best - As always, a trip to The Sewanee Inn is simply the best. From the kind staff members to the delicious food to the well-appointed rooms....I highly recommend treating yourself to a stay. One of the best sunrise views is adjacent to the Inn at Green's View - always a treat and worth waking for. I traveled for business and had early (very) morning meetings. With screens on the windows, you can let the cool morning air in and listen to the beautiful birds.
Carol (10/5): Exceptional - It was exceptional. Wonderful amenities such as outdoor seating for relaxing, reading, having drinks. Sewanee is a beautiful place made even better by the Inn. Restaurant is superb.

836rebeccah (10/5): What a gem! - This place is wonderful. The rooms are beyond comfortable, lavishly furnished, and in perfect condition. The restaurant serves delicious fare (we had Pork belly, the charcuterie board, the burger and fries, and steak frites) and we received warm and friendly service. The grounds are lovely and would be excellent for weddings and such events. So glad we found this gem!

B9690SJdavidd (10/5): Great stay! - Very nice hotel with great rooms as well as common areas. Did not get to play golf due to weather but the golf facilities looked nice and the course looked challenging! The food and service at the restaurant was top notch and they can make a cocktail!
