Guest Reviews
- Robert (8/5): A nice place in the world - Mr. Oswaldo, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty and the surrounding beautiful. We have been there in June 2018 and it had some minus degrees without heating in the room or an hot shower. In the dining room we got a heater so it was possible to survive.
Thanks to Mr. Oswaldo
- anne (10/5): Very Good place - Top
- Verified traveler (10/5): A gem in Amantani Island - Our stay at Titikaka lodge was delightful. Justa is a great cook and took good care of us. The room was sufficient and the bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone
- Verified traveler (4/5): Ok, given there are few alternatives - Impossible to find, then had to wait a hour to get a room, meaning we had no time to do anything before dark
- sara (10/5): Peaceful stay at Tticaca lodge. - We had a really nice stay at Titicaca lodge. Unfortunately we didnt bring enough USD to stay more than one night. I really recommend people who go there to stay more than one night as it`s really the place to calm down and relax, enjoy beautiful sorroundings outside the tourist track. The lodge and the surroundings are fantastic. The home made food is wonderful. The place is so peaceful and wish I will have the chance to come back there some day!
- Patricia (10/5): Incredible Experience in a Magical Setting - Titicaca Lodge is a wonderful alternative to a home stay on the beautiful island of Amantani. While all the guests share the bathroom, you have a comfortable private room for a peaceful retreat. The food is great--invest in the meals. Ask for the hot Pisco at night before bed. I can't say enough about how I enjoyed my stay. The family is as delightful as they are helpful. This is not a 5-star resort, but it is a 5-star experience. This is one of those travel moments I will never forget.
- Melanie and Nik (10/5): Cozy family lodge - Great experience. The owners of the lodge were very helpful in making our stay wonderful. One thing we did not initially understand was that we needed to take the tour that starts at 8:30am to get to the island. Other than the tour, there are not many affordable options for boat taxi's. Oswaldo (hotel owner), and Percy (employee) helped tremendously to set up logistics for us to arrive to their island. They set up a tour for us with a friend of theirs at Uros to see the floating islands. (Exploring Uros can not be done without a tour).
Food was served by the host family. There aren't restaurant options in the area. Food by the family was amazing. 3 course meals of exquisite home cooked typical peruvian food. We had lunch ready for us upon arrival, dinner and breakfast before departure. Cost of food not included in reservation but is expected to be added.
The family is very sweet and knowledgable. They took us on the sunset tour and ruin tour which had beautiful views.
Overall, wonderful and unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend this location for a cultural stay on the lake titicaca islands.
- PHILIPPE (10/5): AMAZING PLACE AND PEOPLE - This place is absolutely fantastic . Oswaldo and Hugo welcomes us at the pier and we felt already very confortable . The food is really nice and tasty,Oswaldo s'wife is a great cooker. The evening we went to dance with the other people of the village , we wear the typical clothes of the peruvian people, the ambiance was so nice and relaxing. Thanks a lot Oswaldo for the great time he gave us, good luck to Hugo for his great project. If you go to Amantani , you can't miss the Titicaca Lodge place !!!!
- Ana (8/5): Great option in Amantani - Justa and Osvaldo are the Titikaka Lodge owners and hosts. This is a great option if you prefer to sleep in a private room and have access to a hot shower instead of staying in town with local families. This is also a great option to contribute directly with a local family, instead of going through agencies that keep for themselves most of the tourism incomes.
There are two ports in Amantani, be sure your boat captain knows you are staying at the lodge, so he can leave you in the correspondant port. If you call to the lodge and request it, Justa will come to wait for you at the port for no additional fee.
