It is an older hotel, so it has old carpet, old tile, that old hotel smell...but it was clean, the beds were clean and comfortable, they made coffee and snacks avaiable in the lobby all day. It was right across the street from a good restaurant. It was righr next door to the Jackson covered bridge. They had chairs, a firepit, a swing, a kids playground, all in the back along a beautiful river! And it only a 15 minute drive to the Mt Washington road to the top, less to a beautiful waterfall, and a short drive to many sites, including Willie's House. Modern, no, but We loved it!

The carpet in the hall needs replacing, the vinyl in the bathroom was worn & I couldn’t tell if the floor was dirty or worn. Our sliding door to our balcony didn’t lock. The register covers in the floor were just nasty! Yuk! I pulled the night stand out to plug in my phone & it hadn’t been cleaned in who knows when. I checked the bedding & it appeared to be clean. The bed was comfortable & we slept good after a long travel day. The lady that checked us in was friendly. The door to where coffee & breakfast was served was locked at 7:10AM so we just left. The outside of the premises was very pretty except for the crumbled pool which hasn’t been used in years. This could be a gem but is far from it.

The owners and staff treated us so well. they were very kind and considerate. For an affordable place on the river it worked for us. we will come back in the winter for another stay but longer.
- John (2/5): - Booked a room for 8 nights. Paid in full. When we arrived, the room was dirty , mold in the bathroom. Talked to the manager “owner” in the morning. I told her this isn’t what I expected. She proceeded to scream at me saying you get what you pay for, if you want a nicer room you have to pay!! She said we were stupid if we thought we would have a nice room for the price we paid. I was astounded. She also said if we didn’t like it to get out. She said NO REFUND. We left. DO NOT STAY HERE
- MAUREEN (6/5): - Bed was comfortable enough. Hot water and good pressure in the shower. Convenient to have mini-fridge. Large crack in glass of sliding glass door was a safety hazard and put the riverview balcony off limits.

And said she was glad to be the one to tell me I was ignorant. I believe she is a scam artist because the local police said this is very common behavior for this woman.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Unexpectedly, disappointed - Where do I begin, we tried to check in at 3:41pm but none was present. Two numbers were left to call for service, the first number I had to leave a message and the second number I was asked if I had a reservation and I said yes and gave her our name. A few minutes pass and nothing and then a few more minutes pass and finally she states that someone would be with us shortly to check us in. A much older woman who was very kind checked us in and I had to pay the extra 25 per night pet fee and a $10 cleaning fee. The furniture that we came across was worn out to the point it was just threads holding it together. The swimming pool was in disrepair and it was 90 degrees outside. Our room was clean with the exception of the very stained and worn-out chairs.The beds were comfortable and clean and the lights seamed to be on the fritz. We needed toilet paper and had to call the number at the front desk since the front desk was unoccupied again and this was mid-afternoon in our third day, and 10 minutes later we had toilet paper. Side staircase falling apart and container of cigarettes butts near our door.

- Teagan (4/5): - This place was absolutely gorgeous this motel is in the perfect area to be about less than 20 minutes from town and wonderful dinning options. our view was gorgeous and couldn’t say anything bad about our stay, except on me and my significant others first night there, we continually heard crashing, banging, screaming, and swearing. it genuinely sounded like someone was destroying the room next to us, it went on from 9:3 PM TO 4 IN THE MORNING!! we called the owner to have her check it out around 1:30 in the morning and she immediately answered which we very much appreciated on her end. what we didn’t appreciate is that all she did was knock on the door of the people that were slam banging around and ask “have you heard any banging around anywhere” and they flat out lied saying they had heard it themselves. they were clearly addicts who didn’t know how to have a lick of respect for anyone else. I suggest that if you stay here you make sure your as far away from the other people around you as possible because the walls are thin and you will more than likely hear a domestic right next to you.

- David (8/5): - This is a vintage motel, meaning it was probably built in the 70s or early 80s, and has never been updated. That said, for the area it's in, it is priced appropriately and considerably less than neighboring newer motels. It felt mostly, but not completely, clean and had a slightly musty old building smell, mixed with disinfectant. The staff I interacted with weren't particularly warm or welcoming, but they weren't horrible either. The motel is right across the street and a 2 minute walk to The Red Fox Bar & Grille that had exceptionally good food and service. It's only 20 minutes to Wildcat. Those two positives justifiy staying here, if you're looking for a low budget option. My only complaint is that the mattresses in my room were completely shot and saggy. I woke up with a backache. Other than that, on a budget/cheapest option for only a night or two, I would probably stay here again.

Never saw a person at the desk. When calling the number for service the woman had very curt replies. Not very friendly. Breakfast food was bagels to toast and butter, cream cheese, jelly. All were old and stale, could not eat. No one to tell cause no one was there!!! I would not go back.

- Dennis (10/5): Perfect - My family was relocating and we had a few days before we could move into our new place. I'm so glad we decided to stay here. It's clean and cozy. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa, bagels, and oatmeal are served every morning in the beautiful little lobby. The fireplace was on and they have it decorated so beautiful. The older women at the desk is so kind, she works really hard to make sure everyone has coffee and bagels. She was wonderful. I would definitely stay again.

We had a direct view of the river from your private back porch and an amazing restaurant across the street to walk to. Will definitely return.

There was nice little area to have a fire at night, a grill as well. Room had a small fridge. No microwave or hair dryer or toiletries at all. Had to unplug things in order to plug a phone charger in. Room is very old but that also is the North Conway area vibe….. the rug really should be ripped out and replaced with linoleum. That would probably eliminate the musty and cleaning product smell within the room. They most definitely have not cleaned behind the nightstands in a very long time… Didn't use the shower. No mention of coffee or breakfast upon check in. If you need a place to sleep, the price is decent.

- Frank (6/5): - Liked location. Surprisingly quiet for fronting busy road. Bed covers were nice. Did not like furniture that had been chewed and scratched. Should have been thrown out. Wing chair upholstery old and stained, carpet old, corners and edges of room not cleaned. Bathroom sink updated. Shower curtain new. Shower head very good.
- Robert (6/5): - The Room Fee was fine but charging $25 per Dog instead of $25 flat rate was too much. Should only be $25 room clean fee daily for 1 2 or 3 dogs that shouldn’t change
- Emerson (8/5): Small, older hotel - Covered Bridge is a small, older place. But, it is reasonably priced. Clean and Comfortable. My grandchildren swam in the river behind the building and had a blast. There's a swing it in the back. We were going to Storyland. It's a mile or so away. Staff was friendly.
- Donna (8/5): - The view from the balcony was very nice, but we had to close the door and go inside because apparently smoking is allowed on adjacent balconies and patios. The smoke was intolerable so we had to keep the door closed because the neighbors smoked too frequently to even try to keep it open. I recommend prohibiting smoking on the property. As noted by others, the breakfast is minimal, but it was OK since I bought my own half & half (I won't do Coffee mate) and left it to share with other guests.

- mary (10/5): BEST PLACE IN VERMONT - There was a booking mix-up with the internet, but the manager was wonderful. She put us in a different cabin and ensured we had everything we needed. I most definitely recommend this place to everyone I know!!
- James (10/5): A quiet lovely place - The hotel was quiet and lovely with very sweet owners. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and they had a smart TV. I loved how close it was to Story Land and that it was no more than 15-30 minute drive to all different types of returants. The river view off our blacony was beutiful and claming. The blacony was lovly with four chiars and a small table and plently of room for our son to play on. They had a lovely little swingset just for toddlers and a tree swing for older kids and adults. Thye had a lovely fire pit and grill.

- John (4/5): - Interesting continental breakfast… they had dry oatmeal… no milk. A canister of miniature marshmallows… plain bagels and cream cheese. The first morning we had the option of peanut butter, and jelly. There were apples and some bananas that were past ripe. Day two peanut butter didn’t get replenished. Second morning I went to get my morning coffee and the office was locked. The second morning they had more bookings, the older plumbing was challenged, my wife struggled to have a shower that wasn’t freezing or scalding. Considering that we paid $240 for the two nights we were disappointed. Place was very dated, last renovated around 1960, the slider to our balcony had a leak in the glass, very foggy. Relatively clean.

- Vanessa (4/5): Terrible service - The hotel advertised breakfast included which was a bagel. My 6 yr old appreciated it. The night before we left, we went to the office to heat our dinner in the microwave. my son asked if there were plates. The owner was kind enough to get us plates & a bagel for my don. We heated our food & went back to our room to eat. my son & went in to get “breakfast” the next day. He was heating his bagel when The owners daughter came & opened the fridge door & knocked his cream cheese to the floor. She started yelling at us that we need to keep the place clean and that it was 2 cream cheese per person. She told me that her mom said we “raided” the place. I told her we heated our own food, and her mom was kind enough to get plates. She told me i took advantage of an elderly woman. she was yelling, swore in front of my son so I asked her to check her behavior. She said I was using him as a shield. I said we had a great experience til that point when her voice got louder saying “I am sick of you people threatening me with negative reviews. You paid peanuts for the room & didn’t pay for your kids. Go ahead, write what you want & get out”. She started videoing us. My son is crying. 10 minutes later I go to check out. She was very nasty, “just leave the key, I won’t charge you for the kids you didn’t pay for”. I showed the receipt we paid for my son. She accused me of having mores kids. She is obviously unhappy in her role & taking her aggression out on others. Hospitality isn’t for you

- Walter (6/5): - Room had a musty smell and everything is very dated. It was clean. Heating vent was rusted and dirty. Had a considerable amount of snow and parking lot was not plowed. Luckily I had a 4x4. Would I stay here again? It won’t be my preference but in a pinch, sure. Would have liked a state tv station to see the forecasts and conditions. But only get national stations. It says a free breakfast in the ad but only has coffee and somewhat stale bagels
- Meagan (4/5): - Not the most welcoming, clean, or quiet place. Staff tried to up charge me for additional guests (booked a 2 queen room for 4 people) and pet fee. The free breakfast is refrigerated, saran wrapped bagels, with green apples. The location is great, centrally located, but I'd find another place to stay in the area before ever booking here again. There are better options.
