Guest Reviews
- Ernest (8/5): Whitefish Hostel - Worked well for my first week in whitefish until I was able to find a place. Being central to downtown is very helpful as well. The two sisters are amazing and run an awesome hostel. Thanks again.
- Nicole (10/5): Nice little hostel! - Really loved how cosy this hostel was - great location for getting into Whitefish by foot. Stayed here whilst exploring Glacier, staff were lovely and accommodating to both my late arrival and using the facilities after checking out and waiting for my train!
Would definitely stay here again!
- Lisa (10/5): - I've stayed here before and would love to again. Great home base for Glacier NP and surrounding area. Nice beds and quality bedding. Casual friendly place! Two blocks from town.
- Malcolm (10/5): - Great experience. One more a/c would have made it more comfortable.
- Beth (10/5): - Clean comfortable hostel with very helpful staff. Convenient to Wjitefish farmers market, restuarenta, etc. it’s about a 30 min drive to Glaciar National Park west entrance.
- Gordy (10/5): - Whitefish hotels are expensive as a rule. I don't normally like to share my space, but these hosts made me feel at home, and I got along with the other guests quite well. The physical plant was an older house that they converted to a Hostel. There was plenty of bathrooms and showers for all of us, and he hosts had homemade banana bread ready for our breakfast. I'd stay here again if and when I return to Whitefish
- Bob (10/5): Great hostel - quiet, clean, and friendly. - Extremely friendly and knowledgable staff, clean rooms, relaxing - no party atmosphere like some hostels. Very laid-back. Beds are comfy and facilities are more than adequate. Close to downtown and the Amtrak depot.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfy hostel! - I had a great stay at the Whitefish Hostel! A couple blocks from everything in town and a short 10 minute walk to the lake. The beds were super comfortable with the softest sheets ever for a great nights sleep. The owners are super friendly and make a killer banana bread!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Highly recommended, very nice setup with cafe and hostel, very welcoming staff/owners!
- Sarah (10/5): Little gem in Whitefish - Awesome kind and friendly staff, thanks Gabi and Russ. Missing you guys! Hostel is a little gem, located downtown and walking distance to the amtrak and shuttle bus. Great location. Yummy banana bread for breakfast. Would happily stay here again.
- Ash (8/5): Nice place in Whitefish - Good stay! Free light breakfast and the staff and other travellers were cool. The location is good and is close to Glacier National Park.
- Patricia (8/5): - It was my first hostel stay and it was casual, comfortable, and cozy. I would stay again and recommend this hostel to friends!
- Amador (8/5): good choice, I would come back - good vibe, very clean, friendly staff, all of those are good conditions for this type of stay. they have a little breakfast for free and they run a deli/breakfast service with very yummy food. very recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice, clean, well priced hostel fairly close to Glacier National Park and within walking distance of much of Whitefish.
- Mary Jane (10/5): Convenue nt and close to towm - Lovely owners
- Lisa (10/5): Greatest hostel stay ever! - My stay was everything I had expected and hoped for and more! Only 3 years old super clean with comfortable memory foam beds and comfy comforters. Commons areas out back and front are so nice. Sister owners are very friendly and informative of the area. They run an organic cafe here and I left for hiking in Glacier nearly everyday with a delicious juice or smoothie in hand to enjoy on the drive. Started the morning off with coffee and banana bread! Meeting and hiking with other guests was an unexpected and delightful bonus which you don't get with a traditional hotel stay. My 8 day stay passed far to quickly! I will find a way to return to this welcoming place and the many adventures the area offers.
- Oeka (8/5): - My train arrived early morning. I dropped my luggage and left for sightseeing throughout the day (ensure you called first after you placed the booking). When I arrived, concierge was still sleeping on the living room or cafe floor, but that's not a problem for me. When I checked-out, also in early morning, concierge was also still sleeping, but bread and tea was ready for the guests' breakfast. Location is within 10-15 minutes walking distance to Amtrak station. It may sound like a joke, traveling to the wild west without a car, but yes, I didn't rent a car and arrived/departed by train. So the hostel location is important for me. Didn't really like the room floor plan. Had to enter the big room (priority for the male guests, I think) to enter the small room (priority for the female guests?). Not enough electricity points to share among the 4 roommates; we live in gadget era these days. Rooms are in the 2nd floor, no elevator but not a big issue for me. Showers/toilet are in the 1st floor, shared between male/female guests. I do like the idea of this kind of small business. This is the only budget hostel in the small city. If you're looking for a luxurious and spacious space, may want to stay somewhere else.
- Angela (10/5): - Great hostel in nice neighborhood. Very friendly, free parking.
- tara (8/5): -

- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stayed in the 6 person dorm. Didn't have to sleep in a bunkbed!!
- John (8/5): stay was ok...had to cut stay short - well I didn't have to book a more expensive hotel..i got what I paid for..in a hostel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely little hostel! - Had a wonderful stay here. The staff is really nice and the common area is super cosy :)) short drive from glacier mountain national park, which fit us perfectly :)
- Navid (8/5): Layover in Whitefish - My brother and I stayed at this hostel on our way to our family reunion in Martin City, MT. It was clean and cozy. The host was very helpful and accommodating. It was fun to meet the other occupants.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Really nice and helpful staff, good location, amazing banana bread!
- Jenny (10/5): Perfect night - That was the best bed and nights sleep I had gotten from anywhere I've stayed, the staff is extremely friendly and it's very clean and well maintained there. I will for sure be staying there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Life in this Hostel - Great people! Wish there was a community kitchen. No problem with room sharing or bathroom sharing. Good coffee in the morning.
- Tamara (10/5): Comfortable, friendly, perfect location. - Loved this hostel! Would highly recommend it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 空港について一泊する必要があり、このホテルを利用しました。
素泊まりするには最適な宿泊場所なのではないでしょうか。
- Adriane (10/5): Cute little hostel, friendly staff, awesome town - This hostel was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I were met by one of the sisters the night we were checking in, and everything was super easy. She showed us around the hostel, told us about it, showed us our beds and let us ask any questions. I asked about restaurants and things to do in Whitefish, and she pulled out a map and told me about great things to do in town. The people who were staying in the hostel were very respectful, nothing noisy or crazy going on. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the banana bread and coffee in the morning, and we loved being in such a cute town that was so close to Glacier. If I return to Whitefish, I will definitely be staying there!
- World Travelers (6/5): - Not for old people. 6 people sleeping in one room. It's a Hostel (firetrap).
- Kevin (10/5): Whitefish Hostel - Had a great time!
- Kevin (10/5): Whitefish Hostel Review - Wonderful hostel experience!
- Eliana (10/5): - I stayed for a quick night in order to catch an early flight out of kalispell. Whitefish Hostel was so cute, accommodating and very clean. If I ever end up back in the area, I would definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location in a vintage house. Friendly staff comfortable nice linens, comfy bed. Recommended.
- Samuel (10/5): - Great place to stay, short walk to Great Northern Brewery and other bars/restaurants, fairly short drive to Glacier Nationa Park, beds were excellent and people were great. Only good things to say.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hostel Home in the Mountains!! - The hostel was great, perfect location, and super friendly/helpful staff...only one "complaint"- there is no a/c... which would normally not be an issuse, but of course i arrived and brought an unheard of heat wave with me...night wasnt too bad...but was not able to sleep past 715 :/
Bonus...the hostel also doubles as a cafe has great wholesome foods and pasteries for hostel guests!!
I will definately stay again, and recommend for any one trtong to explore wfish/glacier area- budget or not!!! :)
- Gary (10/5): Great value with convenient location - If you arrive by Amtrak, this location is perfect. Easy walk.
This place has everything a traveler needs, and very near the center of town. Friendly staff, towels provided, good coffee and café.
- Nick (10/5): Great hostel in ski town - This is a hostel, not a hotel. If you want a basic, clean room for cheap in Whitefish, this is the place to go. Everything was clean, the staff was courteous and they provided everything I needed for a stay in Whitefish. It's not the place for people who want to be pampered, but then again it's not a hotel, either. I highly recommend Whitefish Hostel.
- Jake (10/5): Great stay in a friendly ski town - Cozy place, friendly staff, perfect place to meet other travelers while on a budget. Location is great, block and a half from food and live music. Six miles from Whitefish Mountain Resort. Discount lift tickets if you ask beforehand.
- Kelly (10/5): Highly Recommend - Cute, clean, friendly staff. Perfect, affordable lodging.
- Lena (10/5): Downtown Whitefish Gem - We were able to meet one of the founding sisters who started this business. She is experienced in business and customer care. The Hostel itself is a charming house with all the comforts of home. Staff was friendly and helpful.
- Susan (8/5): First Hostel Experience, all positive - Clean, comfortable, quiet. Dorm a bit crowded but worked fine for purpose. Hosts were gracious and welcoming. Very good value
- Maggie (10/5): - Bunk matress and linens were high quality, very comfortable. Adorable place to stay. Staff was warm and welcoming. No AC which didn't bother me, but may be difficult for some.
- Mark (10/5): Great Place to stay while "in transit" - Perfect setting for a short term stay while catching or getting off AMTRAK in Whitefish MT.
- DebB (2/5): warning - While the hostel is listed as dormitory, I got what was listed as two rooms with beds for two adults in each room. When we arrived it was four beds in one room with the bath downstairs and could be shared with up to eight people. The rooms did appear clean, but this was not acceptable for us. We lost part of the deposit because it was listed without complete descriptions. The owner was nice enough to refund part of the fees.
- Verified traveler (10/5): localised downtown - nice typicall house..friendly owners...very kool place..excellent matelas so sleeping was very good..
- mark shearer (8/5): - Had a good time there. I will stay there again for sure. I wish it was a little bigger. Not really enough room to kick back relax, and watch TV.
