Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (2/5): Scammers - Were told we had to leave 3 days into our stay although we paid 3 months in advance
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Expected something different according to pictures on line.
- Verified traveler (6/5): An OK stay - Very chilled location on the riverside, lovely bar area to chill out. Rooms very basic but clean-ish, bathroom windows had no glass in them so mosquitos could easily get in. Great owner, super friendly, helpful and generous.
- Kelly & Max (10/5): Very nice quiet hotel - Really enjoyed the relaxing location of the hotel. The hotel restaurant was fantastic, and next door there is a great local Thai restaurant that often has live Thai music.
- nathan (4/5): dirtiest place I have ever stayed - Looks like this was a nice place at one time. We stayed in many other hostels prior to this place and this was by far the dirtiest. The housekeeping staff put the comforters out to clean them on the railings and ours was covered in bird poop when we checked in. It was also covered in hair... Must have had some kind of dog or hairy guy in there before us. Tons of ants and small bugs all over the room. They remained all over our stuff the next day and I was still picking bugs off when I got to the airport.
AD said they have a deal with a neighbouring hotel to use their pool. Turns out there is no deal, just a hotel close by that lets people use it if they pay 200 baht.
The outdoor bar area was nice to sit in by the river.
- Jess (8/5): Nice river views. Quiet and clean rooms. - Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was a bit of a walk from town but close to the bus station.
- Jess (8/5): Nice Riverside guesthouse. - We really liked the dining area down by the river.
- Verified traveler (6/5): a glimpse of the local neighbourhood - the staffs are friendly and they provide good services especially the cleaning ladies. Amenities are very basic and its a little way out of town.
- Verified traveler (6/5): ok - just by the river, nice chill out area, stuff were very temperamental- sometimes nice sometimes almost rude...
- john (8/5): Very Chilled Place - Terrific little hotel, about 2K from night market so best if you have a bike or car.
Located right on the river, perfect place to have a drink and watch the world float by. Great staff.
- BBJ (8/5): Room was clean. AC worked. - very relaxed and cool bar over looking the river. Staff are helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved our stay here! - Loved our stay here! Beautiful common outdoor area to sit and have a snack or some food or just chill. Comfortable room, nice and cool with A/C, great shower, hot water, good breakfast food, helpful & kind staff.
- Amy (6/5): Hollanda Montri Guesthouse - It seems like the owners of this guesthouse stopped caring about their business which is too bad because this place is in a nice location (next to the river). The owner herself and some of the staff were not friendly. We paid for our 2-night stay online. The guesthouse was overbooked for the first night so they booked us a room in another guesthouse. We had to move our luggage to the other guesthouse and then move it back to Hollanda Montri the second night. The staff and the owner did not even apologize for the overbooking.
The food at the restaurant was OK, the bedsheets were really thin, the room could use a deep cleaning. The free bicycles that we borrowed were not functional at all (broken seat and unreliable brakes) and guests cannot use them at night.
- Brendan (10/5): - Facilities: Good; Value: Bargain; Service: Good, Respectful, Courteous; Cleanliness: Lovely;
Great setting on the river.
- Bex (8/5): Lovely place with lovely staff - We stayed for 3 nights, it's a little far from the city centre which was the main drawback. Otherwise, everyone was very friendly, the room was good but would have been better if we had a window. Great place though and would go back!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Owner was lovely!! - Staff very helpful, help you plan your trip, book day trips for you, directions and just generally lovely!! Highly recommended as long as you don't mind simple rooms.
- Ida (10/5): Loved the outdoor setting! - We stayed at the Hollandra Monti for two nights in early June before we were off to the Elephant Nature Park. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, when we walked up he knew exactly who we were and showed us our rooms, after cleaning up after our 27 hour travel time we went down for dinner in a wonderful outdoor area that you could eat, lounge, read, watch the river, day dream, chat with other travelers etc. The rooms were basic, clean with air conditioning. The location of the Hollandra Monti is ideal, just outside of old town so it is quieter and seems like it is farther away than it really is. We walked to old city in about 10-15 mins which was a nice way to really get a feel of the city. I would definitely stay at the Hollandra again and again and I highly recommend it. We basically ate at their quaint little restaurant the whole time we were in Chian Mai it was that good!
- Clayton (8/5): Charming outside, adequate inside - The restaurant and lounge area next to the river is great.. serene. And it seemed like people stayed out late chatting in the moonlight, even though I didn't partake. The room itself was a little wanting... the wardrobe didn't have a door, the room didn't have soap until I asked, and the bathroom didn't have a sprayer, which I've grown accustomed to here in Thailand. Not a bad value guesthouse.. not quite bare-bones, maybe medium-bones.
- Frank Paco Hannigan (10/5): A travel dream that came to life - Hollanda Mondri was such a pleasurable stay. It is a superior guest house, with riendly and professional staff. Owner is a happy man that shows a love for Customer Satisfaction, and you'll see it in all that they do. A sepcial note: You'll notice that every other sunday from noon until early afternoon there is a blues and rocn & roll jam session that is the center of entertainment for the town that day. Band is made up of ex-pat professional rockers . You will love the costs, the foods and the sights. I recommend it most higlhly.
- jwr (10/5): surprisingly great - It's outside the old city moat and along the river so it's much quieter and just so relaxing. Seveyet (sp?) was a wonderful "concierge" with an abundance of information.
