Peter (10/5): Great value, great location in Nelson! - We spent 2 nights at Sails, a first rate motel in a great location near the center of Nelson. Our room had a spa tub, with strong water jets and plenty of hot water for a great hot tub experience, especially after a day in Abel Tasman National Park. Dave and Cherie were great hosts, and went beyond the norm. My wife had an early morning video call, and they let her use the office. WiFi is excellent, and so is the kitchenette. This was an excellent choice for us, we highly recommend it. No complaints!

Beyond_Cape_Cod (10/5): Gem of an apartment motel! - Six of us (3 couples) had a delightful three-night stay at Sails as we explored the Nelson area and Abel Tasman. What a great surprise! The apartments are clean, spacious and well-appointed. Managers Cherie and her husband were great fun, caring and personable, with wonderful in-room breakfasts and cappuccino fixings in the room. The location is perfect for downtown restaurants. We've stayed at high-end hotels that don't match the experience of this charming little place. Highly recommended!

The bed was too hard for me but my partner loved it. We were downstairs so right by the corner of the road, buses came past so it was a bit open for my liking.

The hosts were great and the room, bed and pillows were excellent. It’s a short walk into town and there is parking available for your vehicle.
W6651NVrobertd (10/5): Outstanding motel managed by an outstanding coupe! - My wife and I have just spent five nights in the Sails Motel in Nelson. Right from the very warm and cheerful welcome which we received on our arrival, we knew that we had made an excellent choice: our allocated room was fresh and airy with the bathroom and kitchen facilities first class. The fact that the motel even offered beach towels for our visits to the nearby Abel Tasman national park spoke volumes - we have stayed in motels in the past but have never before experienced this level of attention to guest detail! In addition, the fact that the motel was located a very short walk away from the town was a very welcome bonus on the evenings when we chose to eat out! All of this said, what really made our stay at the Sails memorable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the husband and wife managerial team of Cherie and Dave. Nothing - and I mean nothing - was too much bother with both always ready to share their extensive local knowledge and make recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed and none of which we would have come across under our own steam. The owners of the Sails are very fortunate indeed to have such a managerial couple: their bonhomie and infectious sense of humour combined with their patience and “can do” attitude undoubtedly contributed to our lovely experience of Nelson and its surrounding area. Heidi (9/5): Friendly, welcoming service in a very comfortable room with everything you would need for your stay. - Friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Very clean and tidy, super comfortable room with everything we could need. The only thing, which was out of their control, was that it was a little noisy with an event at The Italian Club next door - but honestly, that was out of their control, and really not a big deal. It did not go on for too late really.

Explore34476049201 (10/5): Review of Sails Nelson, NZ - The moment we arrived at the Sails Nelson we were greeted by Heather with a warm smile making us feel at home. She helped us with arrangements for.our sailing tour of Abel Tasman and gave us great restaurant recommendations. We had a very spacious room that included a kitchen. The hotel is located a short walk from Nelson's city Center. We certainly would stay there again.Thanks Heather and Mike for.making our stay in Nelson so special.
