Guest Reviews
- Charles (9/5): - It js close to Salt Point State Park There was no way to easily get dinner: their restaurant is closed during the week; the local market was closed; the closest market was an hour away (1/2 hr each way). So I had no reasonable dinner options :-(
- robert (9/5): The price was a little bit high, but I will definitely be going back. - It was a beautiful property with a beautiful view. The staff was really nice especially the lady at the front desk. She was in real sweetheart and very helpful. No coffee maker or coffee and no microwave
- Robert (8/5): Great location, comfortable, clean room. The dinner we had at the restaurant on site was very good. All three of us orde - We expected the two beds do both be in the same room as they generally are. We were delighted to find that there were in fact two separate rooms. The hot tub looked as if it was abandoned quite some time ago.
- Stephanie (7/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Mykhailo (2/5): - Views from the window The room has strong bad smells, mold on ceiling in the room, tiles at the floor in a bathroom are unattached, very noisy floors
Heating is horrible, we got smoke alarm detector on for couple times at the night
It’s a good location but need some renovation to get done for this price
- Alena (10/5): We’ll be back. - Very clean, cozy, reasonably priced and most importantly, staff is very helpful and genuinely caring and friendly.
- Seelig Eastman (3/5): Waiting for a refund - We were charged for a double room with one bed with a FIREPLACE. The fireplace was broken and there was no closet or dresser - no where to hang or place clothes. Coffee was not provided and the restaurant didn’t open until 9:00am AND they charged $4.00 for each cup of coffee. We paid almost $500 for one night in an a room with a saggy mattress and no closet and no fireplace (both advertised when I booked the room). - Stephan (9/5): -
- Yves (8/5): - Sa proximité de la côte, le restaurant.
Hôtel en parfait état et bien entretenu. Rien de spécial.
- William (2/5): - Bad experience and we paid over $230 for one night and was not worth it! We checked in with great spirits but already had bad vibes. The manager assigned us a room
- AJ (10/5): - Great view from room, very clean and comforting
- Dolores (6/5): - Bed was comfortable. Our single room was tiny and pretty outdated. q no
- Anton (10/5): - good
- Richard (4/5): - We traveled nearly 5 hours in our hire car to the hotel as a stop over for 1night thinking we would be able to rest up and get something to eat after a long journey to find that the restaurant they have on site was closing, though it said it closes at 8-30 pm this was at around 6 which I thought was very poor lucky there was a place to eat just a short drive up the rd, overall hotel not worth the money well over priced.
- Janna (8/5): - Absolutely spectacular views and beautiful surrounding area. Property is old and needs some TLC in terms of renovation but it was so beautiful with the views and trees and ocean that it was worth it.
- mark (2/5): - Room was very small and you could hear everything in the adjoining room. Breakfast had no protein.
- Tony (4/5): - The bed was very small and old. Also the hot tub was broken
- Nancy L (10/5): Quaint ocean front stay! - It was peaceful except the neighbors. All staff was great!
- Michelle (8/5): - Restaurant staff were a bit lost, but the room was very comfy, and close to some great tide pools
- Marjorie (8/5): - It was slightly dated, I know they recently renovated but it is still obvious that it is an older facility. Staff is very polite as well as at the Bar & Grill. We enjoyed Anna she was personable we enjoyed her as our bartender/server❤️The coffee was very good, there was a large selection of tea’s, had 2 cereals, mini pastries. We had the basic room, PRETTY BASIC AND PRETTY COMPACT.. Over all for the $ we were satisfied. Stayed 2 nights in 15
- Cheryl (10/5): - Wonderful Location on the coast
- Jobim (2/5): - Don't stay here. It's way too expensive for what you get.
The room was tiny and lacked amenities. The motel's hot tub was out of order, the bathroom had black mold, and the room's shower drain was clogged. The walls are paper thin. Employees were not empowered to process refunds when we decided to leave after one night. Management was not on site to help and will not contact you if you have the misfortune of having issues.
- Analeyda (10/5): - Great view and nice room
- Analeyda (10/5): - It was a great room with a good view.
- Rebecca (8/5): - This property had a wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean. It was older, we had a small but quaint room but was kept nice and the restaurant was conveniently located.
- Lori Ann (10/5): - The updates rooms are very nice. It was a wonderful weekend getaway!
- Laura (4/5): - Property may have been undergoing a major remodel. Lots of garbage, trash bags in the back of build I nh. Found
- JF (4/5): - Internet is limited to 2 devices in an area with no cell coverage. The ocean view is the only benefit offered to guests, but that's something some operators could get away with in the 50s' or the Middle-Ages when as Trump seems to think America was great
- Martha Stacey (8/5): Comfortable stay with a great view. - We had an errand to take care of in Timber Cove and luckily Ocean Cove Lodge was just 8 mins away. It was a cute small old school motor lodge with a beautiful view of the ocean. Thankfully it had a restaurant that actually served a good meal. We got to sit on the patio looking out at the ocean. The room was clean and the beds were mercifully soft which was exactly what we needed and wanted after being in the road for 12 hrs. It is under new management and from what we could tell it seemed they are slowly renovating. We had the fish tacos and the seafood pasta. Both were tasty but if I could make a small suggestion. Toss the pasta with the sauce in the pan and top with a sprinkle of fresh herbs and a piece of bread. Wish we would’ve been able to get breakfast but we had to get on the road really early. I recommend this cute lodge for the weary traveler and coastal explorer alike. I saw a spa but we didn’t have the chance to inquire about it. Would stay here again.
- Jeannette (2/5): - Location to a family memorial I was attending. Did not like there was mice in my room and mice feces on my bedspread. No WIFI although was advertised and when given codes they did not work the entire time I stayed there. The rudeness of the person who should be greeting you at the front desk, Margarita did not speak English very well and could not understand her.
- David (4/5): - Stayed for a birthday weekend away. Great location, beautiful view. Seemingly under new management that is working to make improvements unfortunately much was still in progress and unfinished. Photos were misleading, no working WiFi, no phones, in room amenities left much too be desired (dirty/stained towels and pillow cases, room was small, no drawers or hooks for belongings, no surfaces for bags, coffee was less than decent) surrounding property was unkempt. Over priced for what it is.
- James (4/5): - Broken WiFi and tiny room
- WANDA (6/5): - Did not get the room I ordered on line. I was not informed about the restaurant being closed.
- vanessa (4/5): - Tiny room, thin walls- we did not sleep secondary to the neighbors snoring so loud- sounded like they were in our room, pillows do not support neck or posture, false advertisement - pics and prices are of renovations but we did not have any reservations and paid high price -window view was of old junk, shower 2 ft by 2 ft, everything old, but still $250/night!! 39 minutes up the road there were very nice hotels for $159 in a better location with ocean view and updated. Would NOT stay here again nor recommend anyone to stay unless the price is $80/night.
- Iago (10/5): - Beautiful place
- Adriana (10/5): - Beautiful stillwater beach views & dog park!
- Sara (2/5): - Throughout my stay there was staff remodeling the rooms close to mine. They were working very loudly until 9-11 PM. All the noise drowned out the sound of ocean waves and let's be honest it's difficult to sleep with the pounding of a hammer right outside your window. Please check your bedding before going to sleep. I arrived at 8 PM so I was very surprised to find a tick on my arm when I woke up the first morning there. There were a few times I requested to use a microwave and was told I could use the microwave in their laundry room or was escorted to the restaurant's kitchen to use theirs. The restaurant hours posted say they are open 12-8 but when I attempted to eat at their restaurant they had closed early. When I voiced my concerns to staff, she just shrugged her shoulders and stated, "I'll let management know." I won't be coming back.
- Billy (10/5): - Awesome view
- Mary (10/5): - Beautiful location! Rooms very cozy!
- Rynelle (10/5): - Ocean Cove Lodge is close to my favorite state park, Salt Point, and the camps were full, so I used it as a sleep center for my time out at the beach. The room was perfect to sleep and shower in. The restaurant nearby was a nice change from camp food. It does open late at 12 noon, so breakfast needed to be light.
- Renee (8/5): - the two most expensive rooms are upstairs, so you have to use a staircase behind the building. There was a lot of junk back there, was not so appealing to the eye
- Megan (2/5): - This hotel was awful. The smallest room with the most uncomfortable bed. We drove home an hour and a half rather than stay there.
- Sean (8/5): - We had an excellent time. Property has been recently remodeled. We had the room with the hot tub and a great ocean view. Breakfast is not much. Just a couple of cereals and some toast and coffee. Restaurant on site is not open for breakfast. We ate dinner off site as the food was like sports bar food and we wanted some fresh sea food. Staff was great.
- Lara (10/5): - The rooms have just been renovated and they were some of the cleanest & coziest I've stayed in a long time! The beds are super comfortable and everything looked fresh and clean. Would highly recommend if you are visiting the California coast!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Annual Camping Alternative - Direct TV never worked. Toilet kept us awake.
- Pretty (8/5): - Loved the hot tub and the view from the balcony.
- Troy (4/5): - I wanted to give this place a 5 star review but the rooms are very tiny, heating system did not work and we had to get a portable heater from another room. TV did not work and breakfast was not really a breakfast. Staff was nice. Just needs a lot of updating.
- Jason (10/5): Amazing hidden gem! - Although the hotel is going through some renovations, most of the cabins are complete and they are beautiful!
It is a quiet part of Jenner where this motel is situated, right off Highway 1. It's easy to miss this gem, after driving through the twists and turns of the great PCH.
When we arrived at 5pm, the note on the front reception door led us to pick up our keys from the attached diner/pub. We grabbed our keys and proceeded to explore our room.
We stayed in Room #17 (King Bed, 2nd story) and it was absolutely wonderful. Beautifully plush King bed with very limited amenities. The key feature to this room is the balcony, it's brand new hot tub, and the ocean view! It's gorgeous!
We loved our stay in this quiet, roadside inn. The attached bar & grill was quaint, but they served an amazing menu for such as small outlier of a restaurant.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The reception area offers cereal, muffins, pastries, coffee, hot water for tea, and such for breakfast. There are souvenirs available for purchase.
The back of the property is still being "refinished" but it's the quality & cleanliness of the room is what you're paying for.
We were very impressed. There's nothing quite like sitting in your own private hot tub, enjoying a cocktail or glass of wine, while you listen to the ocean crash on shore, and watch the sunset from the most perfect angle in town.
We can't wait to come back!
- Peter (4/5): - Remote to the TV didn't work, no ice maker so trip down the parking lot to the diner was necessary, office is only part time staffed and difficult to get help, housekeeping was excellent, heater malfunctioned on the second day, shower was slippery, fridge was turned off and melted ice pooled in bottom.
- Jenn (6/5): - Overpriced for the size and amenities. Tight spaces. Would not recommend.
- rebecca (6/5): - This strip motel was an older facility. The room barely accommodated the double bed, and one stood very straight to fit into the shoower. However, the staff were wonderful and friendly. They went above and beyond to get us in early. Everything was very clean. The ocean view was a half mile away across the highway and fields. All that was OK. BUT, the attached restaurant closed early. They said 7, but were closed when we returned at 6:30. The closest open restaurant was 45 minutes on a tightly winding highway! We ate popcorn for dinner! Otherwise it was OK. Since it was the cheapest hotel in an expensive area, it fit our budget. I'd stay again, but bring more food. It was pleasant to eat popcorn and wine on their terrace, watching the sun set.
- richard (6/5): - It was fine
- Gretchen (8/5): - Beautiful location
- Jordan (10/5): - We loved the owners
- Yaroslav (4/5): - An old motel with rooms so tiny, there isn’t even space for a coffee table, let alone a mini fridge or a microwave. Good luck fitting into the bathroom and shower as well. One thing for sure, there is an ocean view from every room, although don’t expect easy access to the beach.
- Andre (2/5): Uma espelunca.
- Sean (4/5): - Honestly, one of the most baffling Check experiences I’ve ever had. Got there a Little early. My room wasn’t ready, which was understandable.
The guy at the front desk, then walked out the front front The front of the hotel and proceeded to sit on a bench and smoke cigarettes when I check back in with him at 3 o’clock to ask if the room was ready in between puffs of smoke he said I could go check and see if the room was ready and hand me the key.
The room was insanely small. The water running out of the faucet tap in the bathroom was brown. The coffee machine did not work after I checked in. It didn’t seem that there was anybody at the property the office was closed until I left at 8:30 in the morning
Do not recommend
- TERRY (10/5): July 3rd get away. - Good quiet location. Vito was very friendly and informative. Great views of the ocean. Complimentary coffee and muffins.
- Carlos (2/5): Small and dirty, no spa - Guy at the front desk wasn’t to helpful, room was tiny and kind of dirty. Also there’s no spa! Haha best part about this place is the bar in front of it. The two guys working there were really friendly and the food was ok.
- Kris (10/5): Ocean Cove Lodge - Great location, great staff (including at attached restaurant); traditional motel, with all you need - small, comfortable room with a good bed. Can hear the sea at night - very calming. Would definitely stay there again.
- elizabeth (4/5): - Never again. Address says Jenner, but a challenging 30 minute drive north of other Jenner facilities. Very basic accommodations. Heating and cooling is questionable. Very remote. WiFi sporadic.
- Trisha (10/5): - Very nice staff
- Jim (4/5): - Nice location, but the road was under heavy construction. Restaurant closed, no water in the room upon arrival, noisy construction on property until 8pm and again in the morning. Very dated bathroom fixtures.
- John (10/5): - Great dinner menu friendly staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): Motel - The internet and cell service is spoty along the coast and motel so check in was a little confusing. Desk clerk wasnt very friendly, but ok. The website is deceiving as to the room you get and check in /out time was not what the website claimed it to be. We thought we were getting wood stove in our room and there wasnt one.
The room was clean but very outdated , looks like a bad update from 80’s. They had a power strip hanging on wall with tv , microwave , refrigerator and space heater plugged in. When we plugged it in it popped off so we plugged into wall.Fortunately it did warm up the room. Beds were comfortable. View would have been nice but there was road construction going on.
The restaurant on site served good food. Would have been nice if they served breakfast but they dont open til 12.
- Xianfeng (10/5): - Breakfast is really poor, but other than that, almost flawless. The environment is quiet, and you can see the sea right from the room. The host is warm and friendly.
