Location was so convenient to walk everywhere we needed to go like: close to the daily night market, the pick up location of both Kuranda rail tour and Great Barrier Reef tours, Esplanade lagoon, great food (all under 10mins). So we didn’t need a car. Apt was clean and over all looked newer esp kitchen appliances, dishes and cooking utensils.

Alan (4/5): P&O Cruise Views, not Sea Views. - I booked the last few days of my holiday in a sea view apartment as a way to celebrate, prior to leaving for the UK. Sadly, shortly after check-in and admiring the beautiful views, a gigantic P&O cruise docked directly outside the hotel, resulting in my 'sea views' becoming a view of seemed like a block of flats; to top it off, it stank and was noisy if we went out on the balcony. If the fact that the hotel was fronted by the cruise terminal, and that the view from my apartment was very different to what had been advertised ans sold, I would not be making an issues or this, as I simply would have booked alsewhere. This tainted what should have been ending the holiday with a 'bang'. Very disappointed.

Sameer (8/5): - The property is uniquely located across the Hemingway brewery and Reef Casino and the View are better than those from the the other hotels on Esplanade i.e the Riley , Hilton etc. The apartment are spacious and the parking is very convenient, My pet peeve was about the internet which was intermittent or for a day or two non existent. Property has Gym which is well equipped for me given my bias towards rowing and swimming pool is big enough but do not expect a lap pool as you see in a hotel property. The noise from hemingway on weekends may filter through until 9:30 pm after which it felt silent. All in all a great appointed property with spacious rooms and great view; if they could fix internet and other issues such as TV antennae in living room not working properly , I would have been saying excellent rather than great.

Joanne (6/5): Disappointed & underwhelmed - We have stayed several times in Cairns & I regret booking this apartment. We booked a 2 Bedroom Waterview Apartment, choosing this option because of the photos & reviews. I now believe we were given a 2 Bedroom Standard Apartment, room #403. While the couple that manage the rentals were pleasant the apartment, views & location left us disappointed. Please see my photos of our ‘view’, balcony (no glass panels as expected), bathrooms were tired, cupboard door missing in kitchen. The location is also not as ideal as we expected, Cairns is sadly less than vibrant with many closed shops & restaurants and major road work on the Esplanade. If you need pool towels make sure you arrange to pick them up during office hours as they are stored in the garage, not available on your apartment. I think if you compare my photos to our expected water view apartment booked you can understand our disappointment. I also feel ripped off as we paid a higher rate & got the lower tiered apartment.

Receptionists very helpful. Even allowed us to keep the appartment till 12am. Only negative, only got 4 sets of shampoo/conditioner for a group of 6 people for a 3 day trip. Will definitely come back next time
Kristin (10/5): Outstanding Accommodation - The water view was worth the extra cost. What an amazing location to watch traffic moving in and out of the inlet. Our only negative was that the master bed was very very firm. We arrived after front desk normal hours, so some coordination was required to gain room entry. However, the manager showed up very quickly to get us checked in and was very hospitable. The facilities were spacious and modern, and excellent for our family of five. We would definitely stay here again.

We were met by Mark who gave us loads of information and continued to support us throughout our stay. We had a view of the water and we enjoyed waking up to the view every day. Plenty of things to do in Cairns and we were assisted with bookings by Mark when we asked for help/advice. A fantastic place to stay and would definitely book again if we return.

The apartment is only serviced once a week but there were enough products to get us through the week. We had a nice view of the river and were within walking distance of the centre of Cairns. The one downside of the apartment was that the beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

We were hoping for very good but got great! So nice to walk in the door and just say 'wow'. Super clean, modern, very well looked after, perfect amenities (laundry was in the description but we didn't realise we'd have our own full 2 room laundry in our apartment!), lovely helpful staff. Views and location just too perfect. Couldn't have asked for more. Kids loved it especially with so much space in the apartment where they could hang out away from us! Would definitely recommend :)

Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful, Clean, Spacious and Convenient - Beautiful accommodation next to the Esplanade, walking distance to all amenities, Botanical Gardens was a long walk but buses are available. Loved the place and would book it again, the only down side was that the balcony on our particular apartment didn't get sun after 10:00am but guess this would be a blessing if staying during spring and summer months. Staff were very helpful and the building is secure.

Contacted Kath at the reception and she found the jacket herself when the cleaning staff could not find it 1st time. She then arranged a taxi to collect and deliver it to the airport to us as per request. That is a 5-star service! Very friendly and helpful.
Kes (10/5): Amazing apartment on the wharf - We were on the 10th floor & had an amazing view. The apartment was incedibly spacious & had 2 bathrooms plus an extra separate toilet. Supermarkets & restaurants were all within easy walking distance as was The Logoon & children's play parks. Manager Mark & Kat on reception were very knowledgeable about which trips would suit us & our 3 children & helped us book them. Pool towels were provided for the duration of our stay. We would love to stay here again & wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are ever back in Cairns.
Anne (8/5): Convenient to town and restaurants. Short stroll. - We had a 3 bedroom apartment which was appropriate for our families needs. The balcony was large enough and outdoor furniture comfortable. Nice view over the water. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Kat at the front desk arranged all our outings for us, we gave her a list of places and days and she organized everything without a hitch. THANKS. Amenities in apartment ie: washing machine and dryer were great. Beds were comfortable and linen fresh. Towels fluffy. Kitchen had all the utensils you need. The toaster was a bit 'dickie' as in the lowering lever was broken and it took forever to cook the bread. The switch to turn the oven on was also 'dickie' it was 'loose' in the wall (electric oven) and I thought it was a bit of a danger. These couple of things are no reflection on the whole apartment and we also didn't even get a chance to tell the managers about these couple of things. Our adult children enjoyed the gym and pool. All round a good place close to town and restaurants and waterfront.

Pam (10/5): Spacious apartment close to city - We stayed for 6 nights in a two bedroom apartment. The hotel was in a good location overlooking Trinity Inlet, our "Seaview" apartment had a nice view overlooking the parklands and water. Short stroll to marina, restaurants and the esplanade. Casino just around the corner.
Janet (10/5): Lovely apartment, close to shops and attractions. - Excellent apartment, very spacious, excellent view from balcony. Could not have been better. We had a family of four and grandparents sharing the apartment.
Darren (10/5): Great Stay in Cairns - Just spent 4 days in Cairns in a 2 bedroom apartment at the Jack and Newell Apartments. Perfect size and accommodations for my family with 2 teenagers. Great location next to restaurants and barrier reef boats. Mark at reception desk is extremely helpful and friendly with his tips and even making day trip arrangements for us while we were out on the reef. We didn't really use it much but kitchen is stocked with all you'll need to cook your own meals & stores are close by. Restaurants in all $ ranges are walking distance - for breakfast try the crepe-coffee shop around the corner but it's closed on weekends. WiFi signal is good & free, which made my kids very happy when we returned to the room! I highly recommend this place and say hi to Mark for us when you go!

Jeffrey (8/5): Spacious room - The hotel is located in a very good location, about 5 mins walk to the reef terminal, and close to lots of eateries. We had a seaview room, which was spacious and overlooking trinity outlet. It was very nice waking up to a beautiful view every morning. I particular liked the cooking facility, it had everything i needed to prepare quick meals. They even provided cooking oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, sugar etc which were good enough for us to prepare simple and quick meals after a long day out in the reef. Cleanliness wise, it was generally ok but window frames in the bedroom and kitchen were lightly covered in dust, our toilet flushing button was broken which need repairing. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, and would stay again.
Kelly (10/5): Amazing stay in Cairns - We stayed in a two bedroom/two bath unit with a view of the water. The unit was spacious and clean. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer was convenient. Free underground parking and free wifi were great. We were in walking distance to shops, restaurants and several activities.

Siu Wai (6/5): Need renovation - It was not so clean, small insects around the kitchen n the dinning table. There is no curtain at the window, too bright in the morning which we can't sleep well. The blanket with stain n the bathtoom with bad smell. No ventilation in the bathroom so must open the window.
Cathy (10/5): Great apartment in a wonderful location. - These are very nice apartments with a very friendly and helpful staff. They even helped us book our tours at great prices. We have 4 people in a 2 bedroom and were quite comfortable. Everything you need was provided. Even soap to wash clothes.
Meagan (10/5): Great for families - We had a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment - so much bigger than we expected! The apartment had everything we needed for our stay and the staff were lovely. The kids loved seeing the cruise ships parked opposite our balcony each day.

Trish (10/5): 10 out 10 - Our apartment was very clean & fresh. I had everything we needed in the Kitchen. The staff are approachable and helpful with information concerning all tourism companies and local attractions and events all within walking distance. Jack & Newell Holiday Apartments are close to some of the best places to eat out and because we just across the road from the wharf we were able to have a look at the ships that came in & left during the day & night.

Staff is very friendly and helpful - anything you may want to do, they are willing to help or offer an opinion. Very clean, spacious and private units. Will stay here again if I head back to Cairns.

Amy (10/5): Ocean view worth it. - My 8 year old walked in and immediately ran to the balcony, marveled at the view, leaned back into the plush lawn chair, grasped his hands behind his head and exclaimed, "wow, this is relaxing!" That about says it all. The 3 bedroom was very spacious, the kitchen well equipped, and the staff were very helpful with the tourist bookings.
A&P (8/5): Nice apartment by the sea - The apartment is very handy to all the amenities within walking distance. Our room has a stunning water view. Staff were friendly. The only negative thing is that our room was a bit tired looking especially the bathrooms. but overall good experience.

My kids and husband went scuba diving and bungee jumping while I hung out, got my nails done and relaxed.
