Guest Reviews
- Elizabeth (4/5): Tried to make the most of it, wish the management had been honest in their promotion. - Lovely welcome with lei and airport pickup. Stunning location with a view over the lagoon. Breakfast served on balcony, friendly staff (who were doing their best with limited support from owners). We enjoyed the geckos on the ceiling at night. We had to work out for ourselves that the bar and restaurant were closed for building work on arrival... traveling with my parents in their 70's we had planned to not need to do much walking but all food was quite a walk away. Supermarkets have very limited stock with no fresh food so a long walk to a takeaway that might not be open or an expensive resort meal also are the only options, both a half hour+ walk away. Very basic/poor breakfast of old cereal and UHT milk, intermittent hot water, leaking roof, need to boil all drinking water, poor snorkelling off the reef as very shallow and full of sea slugs... not great TBH.
- Rachael (8/5): A very relaxing comfortable stay. - Great location, with lagoon views from our balcany. The beach and swimming were fantastic and the breakfast was fresh fruit, cereal, toast with jam - just the right amount for 2 people. No complaints but hope the bar and restaurant are open next time we stay. They are are currently being renovated.
- Walter (10/5): It really is paradise! - Breakfast on our private veranda looking out over the ocean was wonderful. I will never forget that view. For me, it was magical. All good 👍
- apolonia (7/5): Location and cost were great for large group! - Beautiful lagoon, friendly staff! Particularly going the extra mile for our bday girl’ treats and the twin beds. Thank you Aunty Nane for the lei and transfer in arrival. Just a reminder the departure airport transfers were a necessity due to the amount of luggage please.
- Sacha (8/5): Good value for money, beautiful location, could do with some touch-ups to improve facilities. - The bungalows are right on the beach which was beautiful. Balcony overlooking the beach is great also - but note not very private as you are right next to other bungalows. Beds were comfortable & multiple towels were provided. We had aircon in our room in addition to a fan (although the fan settings were a bit strange). The breakfast delivered each morning was a nice touch and the little kitchenette with fridge & sink was handy. The staff were very friendly and helpful and picked us up from and dropped us off at the airport (even for a late flight several hours after our check-out time). We were also able to rent bikes for $15 a day. It was very clean :) There was no filtered drinking water (except one bottle left for us in the fridge) - water in the rooms was undrinkable and there was one tap onsite that provided water that was drinkable once boiled. Given the location was far from other shops/drinking water stations it was inconvenient for us. Useful having the bikes but they were a bit run down. The restaurant/bar was closed for renovations.
- Jana (10/5): Dokonalý poměr kvality a ceny - Místo je fantastické. Nádherná pláž, možnost i šnorchlovat. Výhled z terasy unikátní. Bezplatný transfer z/na letiště. Ubytování kompletně vybavené včetně klimatizace, prostorné. Sprchový gel, šampón i kondicionér k dispozici. K vaření kompletní nádobí, sůl, cukr, čaje, káva. Terasa užasná!
Snídaně v hodinu, kterou si určíte. Skromná, ale nedaleko na skůtru lze koupit potraviny. Jediné vylepšení - chtělo by zakoupit nové matrace. Ty stávající jsou hodně rozleželé.
Škoda, že zde není možnost zakoupit drink a jídlo (například maso) a ogrilovat si.
- Roger (8/5): - The location, the beach hut and the staff No restaurant, noisy room fan. Balcony chairs not very comfortable
Paradise Cove has the potential to be an outstanding resort but it needs regular proactive maintenance and investment in its facilities
- Liana (10/5): It was the best time I had when I was sitting on the bungalow, enjoying my meal, watching a movie while looking at the l -
- Monique (7/5): -
- Rex (8/5): -
- Rachelle (7/5): - Incredible views and location.
Friendly staff. Bathrooms are in dire need of an upgrade. I'm not a particularly fussy person but they definitely did not meet my standard.
- Brian (2/5): Inexpensive compared to many places but not worth it. Keep searching!!! - Valentina, the receptionist. Wifi was dreadful. Company car used for collecting guests is VERY old & in terrible condition. Husband held onto handle in car which fell off & gashed his elbow. Hotel’s First aid kit consisted only of Betadine & band aids! Room fan has 2 speeds - “take off” & off. Pillows & towels were thin - when I requested new they were both replaced with decent items. Why weren’t the decent ones in the room in the first place? The shower was barely warm & at best a dribble. We had to chase the drops around the dirty shower cubicle. The breakfast tray for 2 was barely enough for 1 let alone 2 - eg 1 glass of juice for 2. Midges & mossies were in abundance - there were coils but the doors had gaps at top & bottom giving them easy entry. All bures need urgent repairs. On the website the 2 “family” units state that they “look out on to the garden”. There is no garden!! Like all accommodation it is necessary to hire a scooter or car. We did not enjoy our stay & cannot recommend.
- Charissa (8/5): overall, I was very happy with my stay here. the price and location were great. - Breakfast was good, location stunning, felt fairly private and generally quiet, pick up and drop off to airport much appreciated. Staff were helpful. You can cook simple meals in the room or there are a couple of takeaway options nearby or it's a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest restaurant. For more options it's a longer walk or a short scooter ride. the bed was a bit uncomfortable at first being two mattresses pushed together - but it became better with a little adjustment. i know it was low season but the restaurant was not open during my stay (friday-tuesday) and no one informed me of that. would be great to have screens on the doors to get airflow in the room - i saw that the cabin next to me had that, however mine did not.
- Lynley (10/5): Stunning beach and views. - Located on a stunningly beautiful stretch of beach. Great for swimming in all tides. Staff were wonderful and helpful with everthing we needed. Rooms were clean and fully serviced every second day. Bed was comfortable. A good size nice breakfast was delivered to the room each morning. The restaurant was closed undergoing renovations. The rooms are in need of some maintenance. Need a few more outdoor chairs but still good value for money.
- Sebastian (9/5): Quiet and nice stay with amazing view - Location.
Just in front of the beach. Amazing view. Lovely sunset Limited number of beach chairs.
Chairs in balcony were uncomfortable
- Haurangi (7/5): -
- Alessandro (9/5): - la posizione e la tranquillità
- Irene (10/5): Incredible views from a super cute Bungalow - The views The bar was closed and it was informed to us kn arrival
- Lori (9/5): Great option that won’t break the budget - Amazing location right on the beach. Bungalows are a bit dated but they are clean, comfortable, and the air con works great. Staff is exceptional, always willing to help you out with whatever you need. The daily breakfast is small and basic but we complemented ours with yogurt from Tina’s 24/7 market and it was perfect. The lagoon is so close, literally feet from your bungalow. The beach chairs are nice. Plenty of parking for cars or scooters. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. The restaurant is only open on Wednesday and Saturdays so you need to go elsewhere the other nights for dinner. There are a couple of places within walking distance but you will need wheels of some kind to get to a grocery store or other dining options. WiFi works great out by the office or at the tables in the restaurant but you risk getting eaten by mozzies, wifi didn’t work very well in our bungalow.
- Joel & Justin (10/5): Highly recommend 👌 - Cabin was right by the beach ⛱️
- Stewart (8/5): Great South Pacific island location with a beautiful beach - Great island location and the beach is beautiful. Sunbeds on beach need upgrading with mattresses. WiFi is sketchy unless close to reception.
- Joy (7/5): Was just fine - Good location. I was super grateful to the girl who found/brought my husband's credit card to the airport. Super super thankful for that gesture. Staff were not super friendly. Room decor is the worst I've ever seen. Ceiling fan blade broke off and we were super lucky no one got hurt as it hurdled across the room.
- Kim (10/5): -
- Nadia (10/5): This was an incredible stay with manta rays swimming close by so we could watch them from our balcony. Amazing location! - The location was amazing and the breakfast was delivered directly to the room with fresh fruits. Nothing.
- Lidia (9/5): Wonderful stay in own little house - Amazing time at Aitutaki, little house just on the beach with a wonderful view, everything was clean, stuff was very friendly and helped in different situations, amenities were all good and comfortable, had really great time here Breakfast was average, fruits were really good, but to bread and musli i would prefer something cooked like eggs or sandwich. May be also a small chair in the room will be good.
- Anne (10/5): Convenient Beautiful Just perfect for 2 per bungalow - Everything NA
- Tünde (8/5): -
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Helena (10/5): Tranquil - Everything Nothing
- Natasha (10/5): - Paradise Cove Lodge was a wonderful experience. The beautiful seaside views are breathtaking. Very accommodating for our last minute booking. Thank you.
- Deolinda (7/5): Great beach - The beach access is very convenient No restaurant, it makes it difficult when you can’t rent a car. Breakfast is really weak, bring snack, they serve one portion breakfast even if you are two guests. I mean like one glass of juice. Later we found we can order more food with extra charges but it makes no sense that the one provided is only a single portion. It feels like you are on your own and you rented an Airbnb
- Tamainetutai (10/5): - Staff was wonderful , very clean & beautiful view to wake up to every morning.
- Victor (8/5): -
- Ngakuira (8/5): It was bang for buck - It’s a good deal for beachfront bungalow - I loved that we had a porch so we can admire the stunning view. Also, the beach location that the Lodge is at is awesome for swimming. The breakfast was a neat touch as well. It was a bit dated, and very small. The wifi needs some work too it didn’t work 90% of the time.
- Kararaina (8/5): - The location and the fact that the beach was right there. Loved how u could make your own food and the deck was amazing to sit outside on and look at the ocean. I was also impressed with the communication right from the get go. I really appreciated it. Such a nice place to relax. The bed leg came way and caved in due to 2 single beds pushed together. There was no microwave in the room to heat however it did have a stove top, toaster, jug and a fridge.
- Toni (10/5): I loved this place and feel lucky we were able to stay there. will be recommending to family n friends - I loved the bungalows right on the beach like u have yr own private beach There could always be improvements with the landscaping and design of like the entryway but then it would probably take away the relaxed vibe and its uniqueness
- Kate (5/5): Great views and location, just needs a bit of an upgrade especially the bathroom. - The view and beach front swimming.
Bed very comfortable. The bathroom very small no air flow through this. Needs a good clean the bathroom.
Wall has holes where the air conditioning unit cords are.
Some screen windows were broken.
- Katherine (9/5): Excellent relaxing stay! - Room was clean and serviced every other day. Location right on the beach and quiet except for the birds and chickens. Breakfast delivered every morning was good and filling. Everything we needed! Wished the restaurant bar was open more than two nights a week.
- Miguel (8/5): -
- HAOYUAN (7/5): - 位置绝佳 风景美丽 后面还有山可以眺望整个岛 卫生…床上经常会爬蚂蚁 床垫枕头外表看着很干净 但内里很zang 像发mei了…
- Winton (9/5): Fun individual bungalows - Enjoyed eating breakfast on patio facing beautiful beach.
- Catherine (9/5): Very nice and cosy little bungalows right on the beach - Very nice and comfortable little bungalow right on a very nice beach. Prefect with nice comfy bed, fan, and a tiny kitchenette with everything to make a simple dinner. Simple breakfast served on the balcony is a very nice idea. Nice cocktails on some evenings of the week.
We really liked the fact that the roofs are thatched with pleated palm fronds which is the traditional look and keeps the bungalow cool. The bungalow we stayed in was in much better shape than the bungalow our daughter was in (her bungalow did not have a microwave, her fan looked old and the bungalow in general was a bit tattered but still nice)
- Dana (10/5): A beautiful quaint little place to find your own beautiful little beach in paradise. - It is directly on the beach and you more or less have your own private beach facing west into the lagoon and it is absolutely beautiful… your stay comes with a complementary breakfast and complementary bottled water and free ample parking. The Wi-Fi is free as well, but you usually have to go up to the area around the office to be able to use it. I wasn’t able to access the Wi-Fi too often in my beach cabin cause its distance is too far away…
The beach cabins themselves are just phenomenal. Clean with a great air conditioner, super comfortable bed, adequate kitchen, a nice shower, a good breakfast every morning complementary, and a private deck that overlooked your own little cozy quasi-private beach. It would be nice if the rooms had a microwave to reheat food. You could warm up food, cook food, and they had a toaster but if you brought food back from a restaurant, there was really no way of reheating it… and also the Wi-Fi would be much better if you were able to access it in your room rather than having to go up near the office to gain access…
- Karen (10/5): 3 star accommodation in a 5 star setting, perfect for us!! - 5 star location with direct beach access Needs new firmer pillow inners, ours were very old and thin
- Patrick (10/5): Peaceful bungalow - Peaceful None
- Lloyd (8/5): Nice for a couple of days - Lovely views, nice spot Lacking table and chairs inside, bad wifi in unit
- Barbara (7/5): -
- Ruaraidh (8/5): - Beach front views, staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful.
Breakfast was fresh & tasty.
Beds & Aircon were great.
Equipment available for hire.
Day trips available upon request & help with booking. Water pressure wasn't great, but was manageable.
Could do with me shower products
- Celina (9/5): Lovely stay in idillic island - Good breakfast buffet, beautiful view, super close to the beach.
- Fran (8/5): - Great location, waterfront bungalows, lovely white sandy beach, peaceful
- Craig (6/5): -
- Kate (6/5): Basic , clean but needed a bit of maintenance. Location was excellent - Location on a beach
- Jone (9/5): Magnific stay in Aitutaki! - Magic place with the cottage in which we stayed just on the beach. Full equiped, clean and the personal nice and helpfull with everything we needed. They offer a free shuttle from the airport, son nice. They can rent motorbike and the trips for you. The bar doesnt open every day but was nice with good cocktails and music in live. We would repeat for sure! A regular continental breakfast. I would say its poor in quantity (ej.milk and juice).
- Donna (7/5): We had a great stay at Paradise Cove and would stay again and definitely recommend it to anyone. - The location on the beach is excellent - just walk down your stairs, across the beach and swim.
Breakfast was delivered to room and was a little different each day and enough to keep us going.
There was a restaurant very close but it wasn't open when we were there. There was another just a 15 min walk down the beach.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with any needs Some of the taps were leaking in both our bungalows, which means that a lot of water was wasted on an island in drought.
The bar and restaurant onsite only opens twice a week and a very limited menu. Just a few more choices would be nice and possibly the bar open for a couple of hours each day. (The prawn cutlet dish on the menu was just tiny single prawns, not cutlets.)
The kayaks should be complimentary - no-one wants to hire one for 4 hours.
- Maree (8/5): - While it is an older property, the room was comfortable, clean, and best of all right on a lovely beach with its own natural swimming pool. Only a small thing. We went to the on-site bar and restaurant on Thursday night, but it was closed. The in room condominium states it is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
This needs to be updated to reflect the correct opening hours.
- Cheryl (8/5): Amazing! Definately will stay again - The view N/a
- Tony Jenner (8/5): Overall very comfortable detached & self contained bungalow hut elevated on the beach front with won - For breakfast we had room service comprising a nice fresh selection of fruit, cereals, bread for toast, butter, jam / marmalade , fresh milk , fruit juice, .
Room cleaning & fresh towels & sheets offered daily but we only needed every few days.
The view & homely design of the balcony was wonderful .
Excellent fridge that worked very well .
All glass Louvre windows (except for toilet/bathroom ) could be fully opened & with mosquito net material in place. Need a little more ventilation to the toilet/bathroom . so had to keep door open to the kitchen/bedroom area.
- Karen (9/5): - Lovely breakfast delivered to your room so you can eat on your private balcony overlooking the lagoon. Great value for money with all the basics covered. Awesome swimming/snorkeling out the front and walkable down the beach to other resorts for dining. Cove bar was a nice surprise for a cocktail or two. Fantastic airport transfer service too. A couple of minor maintenance items but it didn't detract away from the experience.
- Shinade (10/5): Would 100% return - Excellent location for a great price. Access to all facilities you would need while staying Breakfast could improve, not like the photos.
- Susan (10/5): Magical cottage with magical views - Beautiful beachside cottage with killer view. Everything you need is provided. Staff were super helpful and lovely.
Def recommend as one if the best places on the island.
Aldo nice swim spot and smokable at high tide - there are some channels out
- Emma (9/5): Fantastic location - Paradise Cove has a limited number of basic bungalows which we liked, with decks looking out to the lagoon. The rooms were clean, comfortable and perfectly located right on the beach.
Staff are absolutely lovely and very accommodating.
The deep trench running parallel to the shore meant we could swim regardless of the tide level.
It's a short stroll up the beach to resort restaurants which was handy on our first night.
Our group of 4 enjoyed our relaxing stay and will happily recommend it to others. There was nothing to dislike, it was what we expected.
- Bill (8/5): -
- Nick (10/5): Love this place! - Friendly & helpful staff
Stunning view, well made rooms.
Good breakfast
- Bradley (8/5): Very good - Waterfront property with a spectacular view. Air conditioning was not working properly.
- npwinter (10/5): Beautiful views - Spectacular views, lovely room, great place overall Maybe easier access to drinking water
- Richard (9/5): Best beach stay yet - Great location for a relaxed holiday...fan and AC if needed Our unit had some graps around the door for mozzie visits.... but most units had new doors...
- massimiliano (6/5): UNICA COSA BELLA OLTRE LA POSIZIONE E LA DISPONIBILITA DEL PERSONALE E LA COLAZIONE IN CAMERA.
- Kaye (6/5): - Helpful staff - Airport pickups and drop off to pick up scooters. Good value for the price of the accommodation. Breakfast was pretty good. Uncomfortable bed. Wifi fades in/out.
- Josh (10/5): - Great place to stay , they have done some work on rooms since our last visit
- Visone (8/5): -
- Yvonne (5/5): -
- Klaus (5/5): -
- Aleks (10/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): - A bit rustic but i enjoyed the stay very much. Having an on-site bar was great too but only open Wednesdays and Saturdays. The beach was perfect to swim in and to watch whales from afar was just brilliant. Staff were super helpful if we needed a ride to other resorts and were super nice. I'd definitely stay again. The pot and pan wasn't compatible with the induction cook top.
- ROBYN (5/5): Basci room with lovely view of the ocean - Beach view Arrived at 4pm from a long flight from Perth. There was tea and coffee making but no milk. The reception closes at 4pm so couldn't speak to anyone about getting any. So we had nothing til breakfast. I queried the milk situation but was told it comes with breakfast. which was barely enough to have on our cereal. There is no phone available to ring anyone. There is suppose to be a phone near the library (a bookcase outside reception) but it is broken and only wifi coverage near reception area. To get a taxi we had to ask at reception to ring the next day. $20 each way(which was very far) We bought some supplies then. If we had known there was nothing in the room we may have asked to drop us to get milk. Was not impressed with the room. Saw cockroaches too. The breakfast was basic delivered to our room. 1 bowl of cereal for 2 people a small jug of warmish milk, fruit, bread for toast and jam or pikelets and fruit juice. Restaurant only open twice a week. (once while we there)
- Sharron (8/5): Had a wonderful relaxing stay here. Location and view is magic. Bungalows are basic but clean. - Fabulous location, right on a beautiful beach - one of the best spots on the island for swimming. Sitting on the deck looking at the view - couldn't get much more relaxed. The bungalow is basic, but clean. Staff helpful. It's not 5 star but the location is.
- Tina (8/5): Beautiful spot on the beach. Lovely staff. -
- DEBORAH (8/5): I’d stay again. - Ideal location right on the beach. Loved having breakfast on the deck watching the whales breaching at the reef. Nice and quiet and close enough to walk to the various resorts to eat. Airport pickup a bonus Nothing
- Alicia (8/5): I would 100% return. Loved it. Staff fabulous - Beautiful location, very lovely staff! They arranged a beautiful surprise in the room for my partners birthday.
Fresh flowers decorated the room No food at the property unless Saturday night.
- Gaylene (4/5): - Close to the beach Ants, leaks in bathroom, dripping shower
- Yatesy (10/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Last minute booking for quiet stay on the island. - Pick up from the airport was easy. Couldn't check in til 1pm, but could leave the bags while we went for a walk up Maunga Pu hill which is just opposite the lodge. A bit steep but the view was worth it. Location was right on the beach, with a sweet little swim spot at high tide. The huts are located to you have a bit of privacy on your balcony. Breakfast basic but nice - cereal, fruit, pancakes. Bar was only open on a Saturday, so didn't get chance to utilise it.
- Acornn (10/5): - Great location and Great swimming spot out from bungalow NA
- Lynn (6/5): - Loved the location and the view from our deck.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. We were in bungalow 1. The neighbors rubbish dump was adjacent to our bungalow so an unpleasant smell of rotting food and/ or fish was evident any time we were on the beach or our deck. Even after burning the smell was still there.
The ceiling fan did not work.
The air conditioning unit could not be adjusted. It could only be either quite cold or off.
- Prue (8/5): Seeing whales from the deck was aws2 - Loved the view from the room, helpful staff.
A compendium of information about meals, what is available and when, things to do etc would be useful. I didn't know about breakfast and dinners until I asked Facecloth looked like an old rag.
Hotplate was very slow. Fortunately I was only cooking noodles
- Triny (9/5): -
- Lana (7/5): Simplicity on the beach - Location to beach. Quality of beach and especially the deep water in front of the bungalows. The cocktails at the bar did not seem to have much alcohol in them. Almost like they were watered down.
- Mary (8/5): 3 star accommodation in a six star location. Although the property is tired and needing some TLC, I would stay here aga - Location, beautiful outlook, good swimming and snorkelling right out the front. Tired, definitely time for a refurb…But then it would cost a lot more!
- Giles (10/5): Bungalow in paradise - Fantastic location right on the beach. Helpful staff and a great bungalow. Neighbours a little noisy at times, but it was happy noise.
- Guest (8/5): Great location for the family. - Location and friendly staff Slight dates but fine
- Yaozhu (9/5): -
- Annette (10/5): - The outlook onto to the beach was brilliant. The breakfast the fresh fruit and mini pancakes.
- Louise (3/5): -

- Helen (7/5): Loved our time at Paradise Cove on the island! - Super relaxing, great location on the beach. Unfortunate that the staff were not locals.
