The room was a bit small, my partner hit head on a low bearing beam beside the bed in the middle of the night so he was not very impressed! • Katrin Müh. (8/5): Cottage mit Patina - Der Ausblick ist sehr gut. Der Gastgeber ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es wurden jeden Tag die Handtücher gewechselt und der Müll geleert. Das Schlafzimmer direkt unter dem Dach war selbst jetzt im Herbst sehr warm und der Ventilator nur eine Notlösung. Für Selbstversorger wie uns war die superkleine Küchennische nicht geeignet, auch für die Zubereitung vom Frühstück war es sehr umständlich. Die Bilder im Booking hier sind laut Zeitstempel von 2014. Genauso ist es auch jetzt noch, nur eben älter und vor allem im Bad inzwischen renovierungsbedürftig.

Clean, good shower, good bed, air-con, welcome cookie, luxury toiletries, friendly staff, closely located to Pinnacles Hike. Virtually nothing, as this was one of our best stays in NZ. If I should name only one thing it would be the size of the room… 15 m2 is indeed small of you carry some luggage.

• Karen (8/5): Great views but be prepared for stairs - Alby very kindly helped carry some of our heavier bags up to our chalet. They happily accommodated our small dog for an extra $25. Amazing views, especially at sunset. Quiet neighbourhood. Good walks around, although steep. Short drive down the hill and along to Thames township. The number of stairs to climb from the sole carpark at the bottom of the hillside to top chalet proved a challenge when travelling with heavy/multiple bags. Expected privacy in the top chalet, as travelling with a dog and didn't want to disturb neighbours and vice versa, but was surprised to see there was another chalet attached to ours, meaning the occupants walked past our door and had a balcony above the bottom room of our chalet. Furnishings were a bit tired. Also, no baby safety gates provided to block off balcony.

De chalet is zo gebouwd dat je zowel bij koud als warm weer van de omgeving kan genieten. Er was ook lekker (weliswaar extra betalend) drinken voorzien in de ijskast.

• Maddie (10/5): We hebben een heerlijke tijd gehad hier. - We hadden een hele ruime studio met een groot bed. Het uitzicht was prachtig! Alles was goed onderhouden. We konden gebruik maken van het zwembad en hottub. Alby was erg vriendelijk! Ook heel fijn dat elke dag de handdoeken verschoond werden en dat de afwas werd gedaan! Dat hadden we niet verwacht. De oprit was erg steil, dit zijn wij als Nederlanders niet gewend dus dit was wel spannend.

The proximity to others when out on the balcony - being able to hear their conversations and knowing they could hear yours. Probably only a problem as our neighbours were outside most of the time.

• Nicholson (9/5): Spectacular location with amazing views - Location was awesome - the views from the cottages is spectacular and it was beautiful to watch the sunset from the little balcony The chalets and fittings are a little old - but they are very functional and comfortable. There are lovely gardens around the chalets and they are located only 5 mins from town so great access to cafes/restaurants
• Roger (10/5): Lovely peaceful accommodation with great views across the firth of Thames. - Million dollar views across the firth of Thames. Peaceful outdoor deck and sitting areas. Refreshing outdoor pool. Friendly helpful hosts.
• Nancy (8/5): What a view! - We had a rustic 2 level 2bd 2ba cottage with a living area/kitchen; perfect for 2 couples. Had 2 wooden decks with gorgeous views of Thames and the bay below us. Alby is a great host, such a wonderful guy. The property is full of beautiful trees, foliage and flowers and Alby's wood carvings, even a huge whale! He brought us breakfast both mornings. Didn't get to use the pool or hot tub.
• Stella (10/5): Super relaxing place to visit with our family of four adults, abd freat access to the Pinnacles walking tracks too. - Fantastic views and warm, tasteful relaxing vibe, friendly helpful staff. Somewhat limited space for suitcases in the naster bedroom, and the bathroom there was very squeezy and lacking a fan. Otherwise, everything needed to be relaxed and happy was there!
