- Robert (10/5): Excellent overnight on journey through France - This is our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely return. It’s everything you need at a sensible price with secure parking and parkland outside to stretch your legs after a long drive. There are trams from outside the door that run into the centre of Reims. We stayed on a Monday and found all the local restaurants closed, but it isn’t a problem as food is served in house. It’s bought in and microwaved but actually very good and tasty. There is a small bar area where you can have drinks (which come with complimentary nibbles) Breakfast is excellent with a very wide choice, including hot food. The whole place is spotlessly clean and very quiet.

Because the hotel is close to the tramline which takes you into the centre of Reims, that was very easy. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was reasonably priced for a full English type breakfast. We would stay there again if we visited Reims.

We ate at the hotel as we had arrived late and the kitchen is open 24/7. The food was good and we had a lovely bottle of wine. Breakfast was delicious. - Alex (10/5): Thanks for coming to my rescue! - This brilliant hotel rescued me when I was stranded in Reims when the last TGV out of town was cancelled. The staff were utterly brilliant in looking after me. I wasn’t prepared for an overnight stay and they provided all the toiletries that I needed. And an iPhone charger. Because it was late, the bar was no longer serving food, so one of the receptionists helped me find some dinner from the kitchen. All through, they were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and kind. I was a bit traumatised by the late change to my travel plans, but this hotel made me feel really at home. The breakfast the next morning was really lovely too. Thank you so much.

Not close to downtown, but we were en route to another destination, so that wasn’t a requirement for us. 10 minute drive to see the cathedral before leaving. Nice dining area in the evening for a light dinner and morning breakfast. We were driving a plug-in hybrid, so having a charging station was an added bonus. We will use this chain again if the opportunity arises.
- Marco (10/5): Highly recommended - gated parking - I've been at Akena for one night only while travelling from Alps to London. Very comfortable hotel simple but clean, with very friendly staff. Room of decent size, and also very quiet. Easy to reach from the motorway. Parking is gated at night that it is an important fact if you travel with a lot of luggage that remains in the car. Also in just over 10 min, you can reach by car the Cathedral. I'll use it again if I need it. Highly recommended.

The room was spotlessly clean and was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and it was great to have free use of the coffee machine in the reception area. Parking was right outside and the gates are closed overnight. Would highly recommend if you need a stopover hotel.

The staff were delightful and although the location is slightly out of town, it’s easy to get into Reims on the tram. Breakfast was good with sufficient choice for us, including scrambled eggs and bacon! We were happy with the venue and rebooked for our return trip to the channel tunnel.

- Verified traveler (10/5): Good Value near Reims - Two night stay at end of holiday trip. Buried in industrial park next to Reims-Bezanne Polyclinic (hospital). Signs to the latter make it easier to find from the main road from A4 autoroute exit. Comfortable, modern room. Excellent breakfast (hot & top-notch continental) is decent value at 10.90 euros. Staff were helpful in dealing with small travel details, location of nearby restaurants. Stable wi-fi connection. Overall, a nice way to end our trip. One thing that would have been helpful coming in is knowledge of local tram station (near TGV station) connecting the area with downtown. That would have saved time and money (parking) in visiting sites of Reims centre-city.

Restaurant serves a lot of meals and staff are really friendly. Only thing that let the stay down was there was no shampoo/ shower gel in our room but this didn’t effect our stay. We stayed for breakfast which was really nice and worth the price.

- James (10/5): Excellent location when visiting Reims. - It's unusual to find a hotel with plenty of parking spaces surround it and not too far from the Reims Cathedral. The free coffee/cappuccino/hot chocolate in the lobby is a plus for arriving tourists. The room is decent, clean, and comfortable. 11Euro breakfast is very good to my opinion. Excellent hotel for 1-day stay.
- Robert (10/5): Nice stay - Handy for the A4 motorway (overnight stay on journey). We didn’t try it but there is a tram service nearby to the centre of Reims. Don’t be put off by the microwave meals on offer, they were excellent quality/taste. If that’s not your thing there is a restaurant nearby. Our only issue was not with the hotel but a bus load of polish guests who had very little regard to COVID regulations.

The only downside is the food isnt great ,as is all microwaved, so now we just stop in the services prior to grab sandwiches rather than eat at the hotel . We will stay here again and again

The rooms were excellent: comfortable beds, excellent bathroom, bright and spotlessly clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. They even had 24 hour coffee and chocolate available in the lobby - very unusual in a European hotel. The buffet breakfast was good. Free parking was ample and easy to get into. The only negative was location. You need a car to get there from the center of Reims, and it took a little work to find the place. There is only one restaurant in the immediate area, but it is a good and reasonably priced one.
