- Giusy (10/5): -
- Phoenix (10/5): Excellent location, great value, and stunning views. Worth a stay! - Absolutely gorgeous location. The rooms with a view are just stunning. The facilities are comfortable for longer stays, and the rooms have a good kitchen. The rooms were clean and tidy, but some of the fixtures were older, though generally maintained. The wifi was a bit spotty.
- todd (4/5): - The residence Miramare was one of the only places on Expedia..
The Expedia add showed a Continental Breakfast which was not avaiable, the building and room are very tired and NOT worth the $250.00 Cnd funds at all!!
The message if you have a problem at the front desk was to dial 9 which does not work.
Go else where for your money!

- Luz M (5/5): We enjoyed our vacations BUT this Apartment:should be upgraded starting with Internet connection and working appliances. - Room with a view! Internet connection: Very weak if at all. Often connection for few seconds.
Technician was at our room three time to no avail. At one point all the other apts didn’t have internet.
TV: showed only one channel in Italian. Technician was able to fixed it the day prior to our departure.
Unable to use our cellphone to make WhatsApp calls.
The facility has only two washing machines available. It took me 8 trips to the laundry room before I could use one washer. They were always in used.
Iron: the temperature was only warm. Unable to use.
Regular phone in the apartment: no dial tone. There was an earthquake 4.0 and part of the wall’s plaster/cement fell down our faces and furniture. We had no internet connection and no way to call our relatives.
The gas stove: burner would shutoff after ignition. It always took several tryouts before it would stay on and the gas smell was by then very strong.
Refrigerator: Furniture door is disconnected with the actual refrigerator door. In other words, you had to open the furniture door and then this refrigerator does not have a handle.
- Vladimir (8/5): Pleasant accommodation ! - Spacious clean and neat accommodation in a quiet location.
Close to the metro station, various bus lines and the port.
Private parking is provided, which is paid for an additional €7 per day.

- Steve (6/5): Pleasant - The room was nice and the staff all very friendly and helpful. The residence needs renovation in the common areas.
- Tecucianu (9/5): Superb -
- Pauline (8/5): Apart from the fall and my injuries it was fine - Location was excellent. Very close to my friends who live in Pozzuoli I had a fall when at the residence. Reported this as I was injured(fractured ribs) the young lady I reported it too was very nice but from then on no feedback and no one checked to see if I was okay. I fell when I tripped over an uneven step leading to the apartment I was staying in
- Mark (3/5): Poor - The housekeeping staff was nice Everything else
- Michael (10/5): - This is a tranquil location yet in the center of wonderful mid-level Pozzuoli. Parking is a very important plus to this part of Italy and our vehicle has always been secure. You can walk to restaurants, shops, a Roman colosseum, the port area, and public transportation. Staff are great, as well.
- Agnieszka (10/5): - Einfach gute Preise Leistung Verhältnis
- Dale (8/5): Very good - Have stayed here multiple times over many years. Friendly clean and secure.
- Lovelylady (10/5): Highly recommend a stay here - All the staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us with a couple of requests we had. It was extremely useful having the gated parking. Our apartment was large and very quiet so we slept well at night. The location was perfect for meeting friends and visiting Naples. We will certainly stay here again for our next trip. One suggestion we have is to provide a "welcome pack" of a dishcloth, small tea towel and little bottle of washing-up liquid so that you can keep the kitchen more clean as the cleaning ladies never touch any of the dirty dishes, glasses, cutlery etc
- Misspendragon (8/5): Basic but Fine Accomodation for Longer Stays. - Location wise it is great, very close to the train station and the amphitheatre. Lots of space inside, good for longer stays or eating in. Minimal decor, but felt very homely and casual. Like staying in a motel. Balcony is a sun trap, even in January. Nice and quiet area. There was dish soap and a fresh sponge and cloth for cleaning dishes, which was nice. Free soaps for the shower too.
There's a little vending machine outside reception for hot drinks and snacks and a Conrad Supermarket as well as a bunch of mini markets, deli shops, and a supermarket under Piazza Del Italia called Daber. All within 5-10 mins walk.
Very clean and the cleaner would knock before entering and come back the next day instead if asked. Felt secure, private secured area, so safe. Entrance is pretty, lots of lemon trees. We visited in winter so the hot shower and heating were much appreciated.
Recommend the cafe beside the train station Pasticceria D'Angelo Antonio for some nice biscotti and tea. Try the china rose black tea!
Check in and check out was simple and easy. Staff were pleasant. No kettle, which meant boiling water on the stove. No toaster,so must toast bread in the oven. The stove is a gas stove but there's no carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen. No smoke alarm either. As far as I could see. Also, the plugs seem to use three prongs and not the standard two. Didn't realise this before we arrived, luckily the hairdryer they included had an adaptor so we could use that with our devices.
The website photos were confusing so we didn't really know what our place would look like until we arrived. So here are some photos. We stayed in the apartment with the biggest floor space in metres and a balcony. The more expensive balcony with sea view appears to be the one above ours. This was on the ground floor.
They are also doing some sort of ground works so the pretty bushes and flowers you see in the primary photos aren't there as of January 2024, just rubble, a green tarp and a wasteland from the balcony. The ocean view is obscured by weeds and a fence. Possibly just due to it being off season... but it's a shame nobody warned us in advance. Hope they update the photos whenever the ground works are finished. I also hope they make it more obvious which apartment is which in the photos.
There's not much in the kitchen in terms of extras. No oil, salt, pepper, etc. Not even a sachet of coffee or UHT milk for when you arrive. You can drink the local tap water but I recommend buying water. There is a lot of pollution in the region and the water is hard water.
Our fridge was off and we had to figure out how to turn it on when we arrived. Initially one of the bulbs didn't work (the light by the front door) but then one day it did, so I guess someone came in and changed it.
Bed is firm. Like sleeping on a futon on the floor. I ended up using the sofa to sleep as it was just way too firm. The furniture is mostly hard and uncomfortable. No deck chairs if you want to sunbathe, for example.
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was polite and professional the room was nice convenient parking gated fenced in property No complaints
- Fotios (8/5): Very good - Bathroom could use some Renovation
- Igor (7/5): Good -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ireneusz (7/5): It is Italy, witch all good and bad things (treatment of tourists) - The location is perfect, very close to the Puzzuoli port, shop Conad nirby. It is not very new.
- Jack (7/5): Good -
- Pawel (8/5): - Maybe not brand new but still comfortable place with excellent service level.
- Mike (9/5): Nice location. A short nice walk to either the port or Lungomare... both great! - I've stayed at the Miramare 3 or 4 times before - all good. First time in this area of the hotel and room (#76) and was happy with it. Great views over the bay, bedroom was decent size (queen bed) with a balcony, plenty of lighting in the bathroom and hot water was really good and on demand. Refrigerator was a bit noisy but closing the bedroom door helped. Still heard it but not as bad.
Checkout. I planned on a 0900 checkout on a Saturday morning (the sign said someone would be there by 0900!!) but no one was there. I picked up the phone near reception 3 times - there was a 'ringing' tone - but no one answered. At 0915'ish a worker came and in and saw that I was waiting so called someone (++ to him!!). He used the wall phone that I used but pressed a digit that i did not see that connected him to the Hotel Avellino. Both are by the same company/owner. He put me on the phone and I was told that since my room was not pre-paid I could send the credit card info over the phone (not a fan!!!) or go to the Avellino to settle things. As I needed to pick up my colleague right near this hotel it worked for me.
The check-in man and the checkout lady (at the Avallino) were great but I just wished that I was told checkout might be an issue on a Saturday morning. I could have checked out the night before.
Regardless will still stay here again if I need to be in the Pozzuoli area.
- Giona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bisceglia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (8/5): Very good - The room was very spacious and had a great view. It was also very quiet and had a nice relaxed atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the gardener even gave my wife a couple of pomegranates that were ripening on the tree in the grounds. The decor of the room was a little dated by modern standards and the beds were very hard.
- Ramaz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathryn (8/5): Pozzuoli is a beautiful place - The location. The room was clean. I didn’t have the best room which was located on the ground floor and cars and people passed by my room so I had to keep the curtains closed. Furniture a bit used.
- Nasseh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arif (10/5): was very good experience - great staff nothing
- Jillian (6/5): - This hotel is in a decent area, it is close to restaurants and shops as well as the train. However, it could use a bit of updating. The bed was the hardest most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on, I’m not sure my back will ever be the same again. However, the cleaning staff was wonderful and did a thorough job each and every day.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I had a terrible experience at this property they made my wife cry hysterically.
They first "Bait and Switched" me on the room by not providing the room that was on the picture which had a terrace.
And then they upgraded me with a room that had broken Air Conditioning in 95 degree weather and then they decided to do repair and replacement of the unit while we were sleeping in the room.
I wish I could upload the pictures to show everyone how they treat customers.
It's not Miramare it's Nightmare!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Having a kitchenette comes in handy good location walking distance to stores and center of town.
- Megan (8/5): - Amazing customer service, great space in room with full kitchen. 5 minutes walk to amphitheatre, restaurants, and grocery. They even set us up with a car hire. Only issue is I'd say they could upgrade the bed, it was quite uncomfortable.
- Kathy (8/5): - Central location and lots of parking. We had a basic room which came at a low price. Nice outdoor area on the grounds. Gated grounds provide good security.
- David (10/5): Great for a night or two - Not your usual hotel but a great place to stay quite and nice views
- John (10/5): Hotel Villa Avellino - There was a s problem in my room at Hotel Miramare so did not even check in. Transferred to their sister hotel the Villa Avellino which is a beautiful hotel situated in an historic building. No extra charge and would recommend this hotel to everyone.
- Mel (4/5): Depressing but Clean - The suite was clean but this hotel has soviet block charm. As others have mentioned the furniture looks like it was stolen from a college dorm and the raw florescent lighting casts a depressing shadows. The good news is that you'll look forward to checking out and you'll appreciate every other hotel you've booked on your holiday. Consider this one a write-off use the free wifi to book your train ticket out. If you've packed light you can walk to the train station and put this place in your rear-view.
- Cheryl (8/5): - Hospitality great. Next to room with barking dog all night
- Robert (10/5): - The hotel furnishings were extremely tired and in need of an update. I was pleased to note that the room had a safe in it. However, some brilliant individual did not bolt the safe to the structure. It sat loose in the cupboard. The setting of the hotel is incredible. That said, I got the impression that it had been damaged at some point in the past from an earth quake, as there appeared to be many cracks on the exterior of the building. Daily, the driveway and other areas were swept clean of debris. The gardens on the property were not kept up and looked shabby.
As we walked into the lobby we were awestruck at the marble hallways and stairs. This once was an beautiful facility which is in need of an update. Oh, I forgot, that will cost millions of dollars.
- Chase (8/5): 17 days at MireMare - Lots of construction, worn apartments but for the price, the space and view it is fair. Laundry but no dryers. Housekeeping was phenomenal day in and day out. Good for long business stay with close access to shops, restaurants and bars.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old but charming - My stay in Residence Miramare was trouble-free and enjoyable. The apartments are very old, which is something that puts you off initially, but they are well maintained and very very clean. The security offered by the facility is also very good and that makes all the difference in this part of the world. The sea-view in the morning is majestic, you get good WiFi access all around the property and the staff at the reception have been very helpful. I will stay there again for my next trip.
- Marcel (6/5): Helpful hotel manager - The room for the first night was not what I was expecting comparing to 5 years ago where the room was excellent with a spectacular view. This year I felt I was staying in a shack. However, with a smile, the manager was able to find me a better room for the second night at no extra cost.
- Nicole (8/5): Clean, comfortable and well located - I quite enjoyed my stay at Miramare, I felt it was appropriately priced and very well located and it suited my needs well.
- Filippo (8/5): Buon hotel - Hotel soddisfacente, posizione tranquilla, personale molto gentile
- Irene (10/5): An amazing week at Pozzuoli and Naples area. - Receptionist was very helpful over the phone in trying to help us find the Residencia. If driving along Via Solfatara from Naples direction take a sharp left opposite the sign for Volcano Solfatara and drive down Via Vecchia de San Gennaro. Don't try the next turning Via Vigna as you can't get there that way because of one way streets. Residencia is great. Doesn't seem like a hotel. Our apartment had a gas hob and a fridge freezer so very handy for cooking quick meals or making tea or coffee. Plenty of safe parking in a gated complex at no extra cost. Surrounding side street area a bit shabby but down in the central Piazza near the ferry area it's very lively and there are lots of bars cafeterias and restaurants. Also lots of street food available. Nice waterfront to the east. The whole area is full of history. An amphitheatre is located about 5 mins walk from hotel. The 3rd largest in Italy. Better condition than the Coliseum in Rome and you can walk through the lower area. Very interesting. About 20 mins walk uphill is the crater of Volcano Solfatara. Amazing!. You can walk within the crater and see the fumeroles and the bubbling mud and smell the sulphurous fumes. What an experience!. Halfway up the hill from the amphitheatre is the train station and for only €2.50 single you can go into Naples (30 mins)and visit the excellent museum which contains numerous exhibits from Pompeii and Herculaneum. We drove to Pompeii and Herculaneum and also to Vesuvius. Excellent holiday
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a hidden gem. I will recommend to friends and hope to return soon for an extended stay. Just loved it!
Keuken is magertjes ingericht. Daardoor veel last van (normaal) pratende buren.
- Jess (6/5): Nice stay - Overall I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. Although I thought the accommodations were sufficient I did have some issues. One was that the bed was sunken down in one spot and it made me fall into it when I slept. Also I stayed for 10days and my shampoo/ soap was never replaced until a asked the cleaning lady for more. Lastly when I initially booked this room the booking stated that It included cold breakfast and I was informed at the hotel that it was not included.
- Phyllis (8/5): Enjoyed my stay. - The room was very comfortable, good bathroom, nice little kitchen. 2 tvs. Good ac. View from the terrace terrific, the room not so much. Just go up one set of stairs and see the Gulf area. So quiet and a safe location. Grocery store very close. Good luck with driving around, whewwwww. A lovely Italian sea side town.
- Ed (6/5): Sympathique, sans plus. - Accueil peu chaleureux.
- bob (10/5): excellent accom - really enjoyed it. a pleasant surprise
- Lee (10/5): Beautiful view. - We had a lovely one bedroom apartment with a superb view of the sea. The gardens and patio area are beautiful. A bit difficult to locate at first, but it is gate secured with parking available. We walked to the waterfront area every day and took the ferry from there to the Island of Ischia. Friendly stores and restaurants are located within easy walking distance in a safe neighborhood.
- Francesca (6/5): Upper Pozzuoli - Decent place, needs some updates but personnel was extremely friendly.
- Lucille (8/5): Loved Pozzuoli - We requested a car to pick us up at the airport. He was courteous and on time. Once acclaimated on our room. We set out to find a place to eat. The town of Pozzzuoli is beautiful, the shops streeets and the people. No problem finding a place to eat out or shop to eat in. Stafff was courteous and very helpful.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Shabby and neglected - We were quite surprised by the neglects look of the complex when we arrived. Check in seemed confused, but more or less straight forward. The room itself was dark and dingy with old furniture. While the verandah did overlook the sea, it was viewed through a playground. There was not even a kettle to boil water for coffee. The manager suggested we use a little metal jug on the gas cook top (which resulted in a burned hand).
- Tobin (8/5): Good value - This hotel was a short walk from the Metro train (3 or 4 blocks) and was very clean and modern with nice view of Bay of Naples. The main downside was no breakfast, but there was a nice coffee shop/bakery just down the street. Staff was very attentive. Very good value.
- Dougie (10/5): What a view - Mirimare was fun to find but wow, was it worth it. Our balcony had a view to die for over the roofs of Pozzouli to the Isle of Capri. The Residence was in an excellent place for the local shops and cafés and the great Metro service into Napoli. Breakfast was provided by the Mirimare through a delightful cafe just 3 minutes walk away. Very good value for money and a hit overall.
