Guest Reviews
- bijayabose (2/5): Avoid this place at all costs - A hell - hole. Beds where sheets were not changed. Food that was below standard.400 people eating at the same time lining up for inedible sub- standard food.
Exoticca clients- please find a better hotel.
Good pool area with music that was LOUD.
- C220IYthomasa (4/5): Not one to go back to ever again - We stayed here as part of a 2 day tour into the sahara desert where it never rains( it absolutely threw it down, sand was like walking in cement).
This hotel falls into what I call my WASH hotel group, ( what a sh it hole).
If I had booked this hotel online and was taken there by hotel transfer then I would have walked straight back out and gone home, smoking is allowed everywhere, the surfaces of bar area and tables was so sticky, drinks were served by the measure and very expensive, the bedrooms were awful, the safe wouldn't work and if it did it wasn't bolted down, we could have picked it up and walked out with it, the fridge wasn't plugged in, the shower room was cordoned off with a shower curtain, and the grouting was green and black, food was very limited, the staff were very accomadating, but they have a lot to put up with, plus after already paying tax once at our main hotel, we had to pay again here.
Would we go back here, no, we wouldn't
- 699mathieuh (8/5): A Desert Oasis if a Basic One! - Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a trip into Sahara itself. Hotel looks great, spacious with nice areas to relax and with a great pool. Food option are basic but paletable, rooms are pretty basic. No mod-cons here but i've paid more to stay in worss. Staff were polite, helpful, and friendly.
- Dorra (10/5): Great service - Great service and everyone was super nice.
- Sunnyhurst1 (8/5): Great for overnight stay - We stayed overnight as part of a 2 day safari from Monastir. Check in was efficient and quick. Room was comfy and had what we needed. Evening meal was very tasty with lots of choice. Breakfast was standard but no issues. Staff all seemed friendly. Didn't try the pool as we didn't have time and it would have been too cold to get in anyway because of the time of year. The only reason I have given 4 stars and not 5 is that I think this would be a 3 star rating, not 4 as advertised and if I had been staying longer and booked myself would have been a bit disappointed due to general tiredness of everything.
- louises49 (6/5): OK, but not as expected - A comfortable bed and slept well
The staff were friendly.
Buffet food was disappointing for what should be 4 star. Not a huge variety, pizza undercooked and no real options for vegetarian diets. We left early with our tour, but breakfast had hardly any options, dry pastries and overly sugary cereals.
- Csmar (8/5): Good hotel for transit - We stayed for 1 night
Clean and small room, comfortable matresses and pilows, nice view, not so quiet at night beeing a transit hotel
The pool was wonderful
We did not used their towels
The food was basic with few options, good cookies, but not so the coffee
- Gustavo (8/5): - Nice hotel to star a sahara trip. The place has a nice 60s feeling and the pool is fantastic.
Two issues: when the tourist buses crowds come at around 4pm the hotel plays music at a level loud enoug for a disco. Not an oasis anymore. Secondly, expedia price does not include dinner, but anyother web or direct booking does for the same price.
- Atef (10/5): - I had a fantastic experience at the hotel, exceeding my expectations!
- tommy (10/5): - Staff was very friendly. Beautiful pool. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were cool when it was 115 deg outside. Great base camp for your Sahara adventures.
- Graziano (10/5): - Struttura perfetta posizione comoda
- Robert (10/5): - A magnificent old feeling oasis in the desert. Impeccable service from a friendly professional staff. I arrived late on a long bud ride and the had my dinner kept for me and the bar open. You do not find this level of service in the USA.
- Travis (4/5): - This was easily the most expensive and least enjoyable of all the places we stayed at during our month-long travel of Tunisia. The bellhop was pushy, the receptionists charged our credit card twice and it became an argument to get the refund, and we were initially given a room without working air conditioning. Later we were moved to a room that looked like it was part of the projects - torn carpets, dirty, leaky plumbing. Sadly, this hotel is heading in the direction of all the other abandoned hotels in the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was very nice. We checked in at the same time a bus arrived so it would have been nice if the 2nd guy at the front desk had been helping as opposed to talking to a friend of his. The food was very good - the staff in the dining area were very friendly and the room was clean with a good view. Overall - I would go back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love this hotel! Being there felt like going to a giant family reunion even if I didn't know anyone. The staff was extremely friendly and made me feel special. The kitchen did an amazing job of cranking out 300 meals buffet style for dinner some nights I was there. Always something delicious to eat. My room was comfortable and quiet. The security was good, I always felt safe. There was a delicious coffee shop and restaurant also just outside the gates. I went for the Douz festival and that was just down the street. I just wish the wifi was better but it worked fine if you sat in the reception area or in the little bar there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place was filthy. I can’t believe they get good ratings. The floors are stained and extremely dirty. There is carpet in the hallways and it’s like they have not ever been vacuumed in years and years. In my room the floors were dirty, dust on every surface, mirrors splattered from previous occupants, and the bed covering was dirty with wads of hair and dried up contact lenses. The bathroom towels we’re very old with frayed edges. After I arrived I asked them to clean my room and they did not. But the next day I found a cleaner and personally asked them. they say that they have a multi-lingual staff at the front desk. They know only a few words of English and not enough to actually help you very much. in the restaurant there is a wide food selection but very little of it tastes good. At breakfast they only want to give you tiny salad plates. If you ask for a normal sized plate so that you can actually spread your pancakes out they will argue with you. I cannot believe I paid as much as I did for this place! Total rip off. I would never stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - GOOD HOTEL and nice service , clean rooms nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
- Laura (6/5): - The hotel was fine, but not a charming place to stay. The self-service buffet was not good.
