When showering it’s possible to set off the fire alarm if it’s not aired out enough before leaving the bathroom door open, which is a large fee, but easy enough to abide by. The towels felt a little old? Slight smell and the style seems older. Bed is a bit uncomfortable as well.

My husband had wet socks the minute we got there. Told man at reception but he didnt seem bothered. Won't be returning.

- Anna (8/5): - I booked a 2 bedroom ocean view apartment. The balcony and view were amazing and worth the money. Fyi, our apartment wasnt really 2 bedroom. There is a curtain dividing the lounge from one of the beds. It could be a bedroom but there is no wall or door. There is an ensuite. There was no list of minibar items, and i saw cans of soda only in the fridge. When we checked out we were told we took a juice and a chocolate bar. We didnt as there was never juice or chocolate in the room. I couldnt prove it as i had no idea what was supposed to be part of the mini bar. And i was then charged for something that never existed. I feel slightly scammed, so ask for a mini bar list and check those things actually exist at the beginning.

Apartment had a couple of tired items, but with the location we didnt spend a lot of time at the apartment. Having the carpark number before you check in would be useful to avoid moving the car once checked in, but otherwise a great stay!

Parked the car on arrival at the premises and not to have to battle parking in town was a great benefit. Easy flat walking to town and to the new grocery outlet . Like the options of harbour or ocean beaches. Minutes walk around the mount and great weather. We could'nt go wrong. Our unit lacked a few basic things eg. Kitchen ware and plug for sink the works, but lovely and clean. Would recommend.

The resturant down stairs is excellent for breakfast/brunch. My wife and I really enjoyed our short stay. The hige balcony is a bit of a goldfish bowl in that location, but does have a very nice outlook.

It was also the Rugby World Cup final grumpy git!

The hotel itself is clean and modern and is in the perfect spot with proximity to the beach, the mountain, and the shops & restaurants. What really made the difference for us was the lovely staff who went above and beyond to ensure we were happy.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - Booked the Penthouse Apartment for the weekend, on arrival the staff were unwelcoming, first impressions when going into the apartment were poor. Scuff marks outside apartment door walls, all furnishings were cheap and dated! It said 3 bedrooms, definitely was not- it was 2 bedrooms and a small study with no windows. Bedroom doors were cheap pantry doors which opened up like a pantry, very weird and no privacy as master bedroom was straight into lounge so noisy as pantry doors were see through aswell! Drier broken, vaccum broken, pictures falling down, bathroom door obviously had been repaired and not hung properly as left a few inches gap, toilet seats coming off, signs in pantry saying “do not use these plates etc”. No cleaning done of apartment unless you want to pay an extra $50 a pop. It really ruined my weekend, outside of apartment looked really nice then you get inside and realise this apartment is nothing more than a money maker! Small TV and everything old and outdated, it also had a horrid musty smell when you walk in, probably from the leaky sliding door. Not good enough especially when you pay $600 per night!

- Elaine (10/5): Amazing!!! - Stayed in Apt 2A. Huge balcony with ocean view. Apartment had 2 bedrooms and every facility you could need. Very spacious. Very comfy beds. Excellent location. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed. Will definitely stay again if I’m in Mount Maunganui.
- Michael (8/5): Return Visit to the Mount - Having stayed in the Mount several times, we knew what to expect. Properties there tend to be overpriced and average quality fitout. The Pavilions was fairly priced and although it doesn't have a pool, it is in a great position right by the cafes on the main beachfront. We were Ok with the facilities in the room and loved the fact that we were able to check in early. We will probably stay here again if available.
- Timothy (10/5): Short stay - Had a short trip to Mount Maunganui. The apartments are in a great location to verything that we wanted to do whilst we were there.

- Leith (10/5): Returning to the Mount - The place was fantastic wonderful new management and nicely refurbished after the rebuild. The area is amazing and as a location it is the best.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing experience - Staff: No greeting on arrival, just handed over keys as though we were an interruption Dress : very unprofessional in singlet Rude when asked a question to help find wi fi, response was a gesture to use your eyes. Office rarely attended. Room: 1 room very musty wet smell. Windows not locakable. Door wide open into room on arrival, found room filled with flys Room balconies not been cleaned, food scraps and cigarette butts Outdoor furniture in state of disrepair Rooms were tired and needed update Shower in downstairs room flooded the bathroom floor. - Peter J (8/5): Fantastic location - Fantastic view, great unit. Disappointing that no one ever came to service the apartment for four days, but you could have it serviced for an extra $50, this was not explained on hotels.com. At near $300 a day I would expect a daily service!
- Randall (10/5): Best place in Mt. Maunganui!!!!! - Best Hotel Ever!!!!! If you happen to be in the Mt. Maunganui area look no more and stay at the Pavillions.
