The wood fire was prepared and going when we arrived with plenty of wood to keep it going. The kitchen was stocked with good quality stainless pots and pans. The furnishings were all good quality and the wildlife literally came to your door. Short walk to the national park facilities and shuttle. I will happily book and stay again in the future.

- Margaret (9/5): Comfortable and cosy. - I appreciated that staff had arranged that the cottage was warm when I arrived. I had had a long drive on roads I'd never driven on before and to walk into a warm, cosy cottage was excellent. The gas heating was excellent and gave hot water for washing up and showering and warmth from the heaters. The kitchen facilities were very suitable for me. I also liked the books that were in the cottage and read a couple. One included stories about Cradle Mtn. My daughter and family were staying elsewhere and also thought that my cottage was comfortable and cute. The entry from the road could be highlighted better, especially at night. Some reflective signage would help.

In the mornings there were only heaters in the bedrooms. No heat in bathroom or kitchen/sitting room so you had to get the log burner going but by the time that got going and getting hot it was time to leave to go hiking for the day. We were there in March so not even very cold weather! Cold at night only.

- Debra (10/5): Highly recommend - Wow - what a place - the cabins were fantastic! So comfy and perfect after a long day walking. Has everything needed and they’ve been very thoughtful in terms of whats there (eg clothes horse to dry wet clothes) - and the fire is awesome!
- Wells (10/5): A home away from home - comfort, warmth and convenience - The cost was a bit more than we wanted to spend, but the location was much more convenient for what we wanted to do and visit. The facilities were wonderful, especially having the combustion fireplace and the spa-bath in the bathroom. Even though it was only Autumn, the fireplace was much needed for warmth during the wet and cold weather that rolled in, and for drying our gear off. The spa-bath was next-level amazing and so appreciated after a big day out walking in the aforementioned foul weather to soak the chill out of the bones. The kitchen was also well stocked with everything we needed to make our own meals. Despite the expense, it was worth every cent to have such comfort, warmth, and convenience, especially when the weather doesn't cooperate with your plans. The laundry facilities available were also much appreciated during our stay. Thank you Nothing negative to report.

Each cabin is secluded so you have no noise and privacy. A more comfy chair needed on the patio and walkway from car to cabin needed a walkway as the rain created large puddles.

Loved the wood fire, and drinking tea in the sun on the front porch enjoying visits from pademelons and an industrious echidna that we spent ages watching. Terrific location, with visitors centre just across the road and easy access to hikes etc. The staff were fab too — our fridge malfunctioned and they sorted it out instantly. Highly recommended. N/A

Most expensive stay all over Tas @$400+ x 1 night. Missing a Stove Top/Oven/Grill that worked. None of the ignitions worked. Used the stove to cook with a match to ignite. Oven/Grill did not work via ignition button. The March fix did not work here either . There was no toaster so I couldn't even have breakfast the next morning. The panel heater did not work so it was cold without the fire on in the morning. All these things should be attended to prior to the $400 plus charge!

- Erica (10/5): A fun experience. - It was in a great location and was quite roomy with a good view of the mountain from the patio in Myrtle Cabin. Had a coffee maker as well with coffee supplied. Also had a small shop at the reception where we purchased some wine. Can’t think of anything.

- Carole (9/5): One night stay in Cradle Mountain - Short walk to the visitor centre, peaceful tranquil setting, wallabies and echidnas spotted close by. The guy on reception was very helpful and friendly. No shops anywhere nearby so make sure you have provisions with you for cooking, though the reception did have a good range of wine and beers.

- Suki (9/5): Fantastic Forest Cabin - It was a great and convenient cabin for my visit to the Cradle Mountain. The wooden hut was neat and tidy and the kitchen was well-equipped. I enjoyed much in the forest and wildlife there. The cabin was suitable for family as well.
- Kathryn (9/5): Great short stay at Cradle Mountain - Very close to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Center. Very clean, comfortable cottage. Friendly receptionist. Unsealed internal roads could make shoes muddy - but not an issue for us.

- Janine (9/5): A great option for an unforgettable stay at Cradle - Splashed out on this option and was very happy with the location right amongst the key Cradle Mountain sites, i.e. visitor centre, Peppers and Devil park. After a warm welcome and avoiding a pile of wombat poo, we stayed in a charming timber cottage in a lush and private forest setting, with the lack of TV reception not a problem for a night's stay. We could've brought another person to bring the cost down, with a bunk bed plus queen. A very short drive takes you to the Enchanted Forest walk and overpriced dining at Peppers. You could easily prepare your own meals instead. Plenty of heating, and would love to return in winter. Highly recommend Highlander.
