• Bonnie (8/5): Older motel but location and staff more than make up for it. I'd definitely stay again - An older motel, but a goodie. Because of the access to motorway, Newmarket shops and food; and huge parks like One Tree Hill and the Domain. Great fridge /hotplate or even an oven in some rooms. Staff exceptional, especially when I misread my dates, they worked "overtime" to accommodate us anyway. Much appreciated. Tx Power points were adequate to charge 4 devices overnight.

On top of this everything was very clean and tidy. The staff is very friendly and were able to meet our needs with respect to checking in earlier, holding on to our luggage after checkout. We needed a clean and quiet place and it delivered well on both aspects. The staff sweetly handed us some Lindt chocolates as a Christmas treat which was very sweet No complaints really.

• togar p (9/5): Always meet the expectation, good stay :) - This is our 2nd time to stay there, as we know the set up, location and, especially the comfortableness. They maintain the level of their sevice, which we're appreciated. This motel is always handy and worths to pay. At the beginning their sign could not be seen at night as it seemed there was some problem with lighting, but after the guys came and fixed, it perfectly worked again :)

• Mathilda (7/5): Fair value for what it is. - Great location, close to everything in the city. Just no walkable distance from cafe or restaurant. A bit older and tired. Lots of things are patched up but could really do with renewing.

Despite being next to a main road, you don't hear much of the traffic at all and it feels peaceful coming back after a day in town. The bed was comfortable, too. We stayed for 3 nights. We could walk to our skin specialist appointments and also walked to the big shopping centre complex Westfield. My go to public swimming pool was also in walking distance. We will be staying here again on our next Auckland trip. Everything worked, we were comfortable and it was very clean. Good shower pressure too, and everything as advertised. We've booked a relatively cheap accommodation so do not expect a luxury unit.

The motel was close to supermarket, shopping center and not too far from the central business district (cbd). It seems like they are still doing some renovating. The rooms seemed to be newly painted and family owned and they were really kind, friendly and accommodating and gave us the better parking space to park our van. The bathroom has 2 steps to go to the shower and toilet.

• Garalt (7/5): - I found the staff very helpful and eager to keep me well informed. The steps up to my cabin were a bit steep for my creaky knees but hey, it was an upgrade. Like many places in NZ, there was a laundry room with one top loading washing machine and one dryer which struck me as basic and it was coin operated so if you didn't get your washing in first you had to wait a couple of hours for your next chance.

Free parking! The old school hotel wall fixed hairdryer. Next time I’ll bring my own, so not a big issue. I would prefer a free cancellation before a certain date option as sometimes our plans change.
