Had the opportunity to visit other location also owned by them and get the best tour directions on things to do in Mindo! If you are looking for a personalized stay, open to be one with nature and make memories this is the right place to be !

Highly recommended if you are looking for a special place surrounded by nature, plenty of fruit trees, birds, running creeks throughout the property and two adorable dogs ♥️ a place to make memories as a solo traveler or with family. Sara was friendly and provided us with a delicious homemade breakfast in outside in their garden. I highly recommend this place.
- Mtnadvtr (10/5): We had a very enjoyable time at Casa de Piedra as our home base in Mindo - The Casa is located close proximity to the town. We had a car, but it was very walkable. The grounds were lovely and the staff were very kind. They even gave us a room better suited for 3 single people. They even helped us arrange a night jungle tour the day we arrived. I would definitely stay here again with friends or as a family. Our breakfast was amazing and more than we expected. They were even very accommodating to my vegan friends. Nothing specific about this property. As someone used to flushing TP into the toilet, this is the only downside to bathrooms across Ecuador.

Walking distance to downt - The location was great, close to downtown so we could walk to restaurants and stores, yet the noise did not reach the hotel. The owner was very helpful and friendly. The one-bed attic rooms were not great for a family group. They are fine for a low-budget traveler. The suite was lovely and worth the price of you want to be close to town. The breakfast was bare bones.

- Clare (8/5): Lovely accommodation a short walk from town. - Great location, only a short walk into Mindo. Lovely gardens and surroundings. Breakfast was delicious. They will help you to arrange all your tours etc no problems. Shower was the best. As it was an electric shower, you had turn down the power to get hot water. Other than that we had a great stay.
- James (3/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was really nice and plentiful Fake advertising we bought stuff for bbq but wasn’t allowed to use the area. It’s just an unclean area they don’t provide materials to cook. We also wasn’t allowed to use utensils. The jacuzzi was an extra payment with no water. When asked at 6pm we was told it was too late. The pool was filthy and had no chemicals in. One of our party cleaned the pool before we used We ordered the pent house with balcony and was given ground floor with 1 of the room being a twin when we booked 3 doubles Charged us $57 for balloons and banner and a cake which was a little expensive. The decorations fell apart before celebrating. No one at reception after 6pm and no contact details for help. All the window was open which meant that we had a range of bugs in the appartment. All parties was also like a sushi buffet for bed bugs. After refusing to help she turned up at 1030pn demanding a breakfast time. Overall after spending €197 for one night it was very underwhelming. I do no recommend this hotel and also the picture doesn’t look like the state of the building today. We had running water for shower in the morning and the toilet would not flush

- michaellY4241FL (10/5): Good choice for Mindo stay! - Was like a four star resort for a one star price. Management was very helpful and accommodating. My room was upstairs in a cabin/treehouse, with a shared bathroom. I had the entire floor to myself, living room included. Extensive landscaped grounds, pool and private massage area. Walked to town, and to some nearby hikes. Mindo has a lot to do, but terrain can be rugged and weather is rainy. Best part? Homemade breakfast in the garden. That's a vacation!

So easy to arrive and a few blocks from Mindo Park,very safe, yet feels in the middle of nature. It was very clean, with all amenities, the bathroom had hot water, and the staff super friendly, shout-out to Sara, she is very nice and helpful. I also used the pool. Will definitely go back.

Funny thing was guayavas dropping from the trees and hitting the aluminium roof, almost got heartattack every time. If you are light sleeper, rain on the roof might be a problem in the bunglaow.

- Gareth (8/5): An oasis close to town. - A comfortable space to stay. A beautiful garden where we enjoyed watching birds from our balcony. Our host arranged a good trip for us. Because it was off-season we were fortunate in having a lot of space to ourselves. It was only a short walk over the bridge to the town with its facilities and the bus station. There was an outdoor pool and a barbecue though we did not use either. Just one evening there was a noisy group at the barbecue, playing music and shouting but soon the rain was louder.
- Amanda (9/5): Casa de Piedra - The grounds were so beautiful and the room felt like being in a log cabin. It was very homey. The place was close enough to the town to walk to. They arranged all of my tours for me, which was super helpful, since I didn't have much time while I was there. I didn't know the hours that reception was open or closed and the bar didn't seem to be open the whole time I was there. I would have liked to have a drink or get some food from them.

Sin embargo, la pésimo administración y calidad del servicio indispuso nuestra estadía incluso antes de haber llegado al solicitar pagos por adelantado en fechas anteriores a las mostradas en Expedia, perder recibos de pago, llamar para cambiar las características de la reserva y querer subir el precio sin avisarnos todo esto con el "afán de ayudarnos", finalmente dar un trato por demás irrespetuoso y hasta sexista en el momento de recibir nuestra queja. Las habitaciones que recibimos en el tercer piso no fueron las más cómodas para una familia y menos las más seguras para una niña de 3 años. El baño es pequeño e incómodo es imposible regular el agua caliente o fría, el agua se calienta tanto que hasta te quema. No tiene servicio de restaurante como lo indica en Expedia. Lo que rescataría de este lugar son los espacios verdes que son muy bonitos, el lugar es limpio y ordenado, el desayuno al aire libre es agradable y la piscina en horas de la tarde.

- Holly (10/5): Casa de Piedra is a warm and welcoming home base from which to explore all the adventures that Mindo has to offer. - We stayed in a charming rustic cabin in a lovely setting on a peaceful creek, surrounded by sights and sounds of nature. Reminded me of being at summer camp. Within comfortable walking distance of quaint “downtown” Mindo.

The hotel is conveniently located a 5 minute walk from Mindo square with lots of restaurants and amenities. Staff is very friendly and helpful and can book excursions for you. Breakfast is really good with a variety of items served.

The location can't be beat. You can book all activities at the front desk - very helpful! We had a 3 bedroom suite that was very simple, but adequate. We loved birdwatching on the grounds.

- Mafmartin63 (10/5): Lovely oasis - We stayed two nights with family based on our local family's (Quito) recommendations and we loved it! Henry and his staff have a beautiful property that is close to the center of Mindo but still quiet and relaxing in the evenings. The cabin we had was very clean with comfortable bed. The breakfast every morning was amazing, served in a covered outdoor dining area that was cozy and comfortable. Henry was great in helping us arrange for several tours (don't miss the chocolate tours at El Quetzal--HIGHLY recommend!, a birding tour, the butterfly house....lots to do!). We will definitely return to Casa De Peidra!

- Ian (10/5): Magical spot in a magical area! - This is a special place. Each room is charming in their own particular way. The grounds are well-designed and give a sense of intimacy. The breakfast area is lovely (as was the breakfast). We enjoyed the large pool table below our rooms. The proprietor was very courteous, helpful and accommodating. We had a wonderful stay in Casa de Piedra! The night tour that we booked through Case de Piedra was underwhelming, but that was not their fault. And the morning birding tour was excellent, which more than made up for it.

- R849PSvivianv (10/5): Great find - Lovely place in the heart of Mindo. We stayed only one night and I was sorry not to stay longer! I took my son and his friends there and they had a great time. Casa de Piedra has wonderful gardens and a beautiful setting and only at 5 minutes from the main plaza of Mindo. Henry and all the staff were very friendly and ready to assist you. I loved its breakfast, specially the coffee. I highly recommend this place.

The host was friendly and assisted us in arranging the tours and activities we wanted to do. The included breakfast was delicious. For a small fee they did most of our laundry. WiFi is available in the common areas.
- Daniel (6/5): - I didn’t think this place proves good value for money. The “cabins” are mostly small, rustic rooms. The tin roofs are super loud when it rains. The showers are electric so lukewarm water at best. And there is no restaurant; you can order a meal with a 2 hour reservation. The property does not have parking spaces - street parking only.
- luiscoig (10/5): Heavenly - This is a very comfortable place conceived with good taste and love. The gardens are ample and beautiful, the rooms cozy and clean, the bathroom is kept immaculate. It is a dream for nature lovers. Looking out the windows of my corner room on the second floor of the stone house, I identified 10 different birds in 2 hours, and I saw about 5 others that I was not able to identify with certainty. In the gardens, I saw an agouti, and photographed about 30 different species of insects including 8 butterflies —that is not counting the ones that I saw but was not able to capture. I photographed a basilisk lizard in the small river that crosses the town just two blocks from the place. And the owner, Henry, is a great host, always ready to help with anything and very on top of things.

Honestly I felt he didn't want us there at all. We were 4 people and needed individual rooms, it was hard to get them and once we got them overpriced the service was terrible. I wouldn't recommend staying there. Mindo has has lots of good options, with a fairer price and way better service.

The room was lovely. We booked a private bungalow and it was worth the price! It was clean, comfortable and most of all beautiful! We had a private patio that over looked a small brook! The room was lovely you don’t have to leave, however the hostel is located close to town and we enjoyed eating out and seeing the sights! Highly recommend!

It took us 45 minutes of wait. The bungalow we got was nice and clean. However, we did not have water due to some problems with the water main supply. The hotel water reserve did not work on our place. Breakfast was good.

Our excursions during our stay were facilitated by the owner and it couldn't have been easier. Our breakfast was wonderful and my vegan diet was accommodated beautifully. We would highly recommend Casa de Piedra because of the friendliness of the staff, the comfortable rooms and the proximity to downtown.

Quiet, clean, and comfortable with friendly staff and a great location. It was quite an easy walk into the main town with all the shops and restaurants. But just out of the way enough to be very tranquil and peaceful.

El dueño es muy amable y el desayuno es exelente.

The breakfast was delicious with homemade jam and manjar de dulce. My only complaint is that while the showers aren't cold, they aren't exactly hot either. Overall, I would highly recommend staying there.

However the room was a little small for 4 people. In addition, We receive a call two days previous our visit from the owner asking for a deposit even though that at the webpage, we should pay at the hotel. We paid and send a picture of our deposit but We felt pressure to pay before and after our arrival. And after to pay , they asked us if you already paid ¡¡¡ I don´t know if this behavior is because we are Ecuadorians or always they want the pay on front. I dont have a problem but It has to be explicit at the web page. Moreover, One of the waitress at the hotel was in a bad mood ( two days in a row)
- phlegopsis (8/5): Lovely gardened spot off the main streets of Mindo - Casa de Piedra was a lovely place to stay during our time in Mindo. The owner, Henry, went out of his way to answer questions and help us with options for day trips during our stay. Our room, the superior bungalow, was beautiful and inviting. The breakfasts were excellent, with warm fresh breads, dulce de leche spread as well as jams and butter, a choice of eggs or yogurt with granola, and fresh squeezed juice. Our daughter loved petting their two well-behaved and sweet dogs, Sacha and Chimo. The spacious gardens were beautiful and gave us a glimpse of the bird life that Mindo is famous for. The major issue we had is that the bungalow, which is a great option for more privacy, is directly attached to an identical bungalow, through a paper-thin wall. The beds in each room actually share that paper-thin wall. We shared the wall with a family for one night, and it was a long night of listening to terrible snoring from the other room. Imagine if a newlywed couple had stayed in that room- it was easier to explain snoring noises to our 8-year old than if we had to explain other nocturnal noises. This really is luck-of-the-draw- the room is lovely, but only if no one is next door. The pool was a great addition for our daughter to enjoy some mid-day swimming. Overall, this is a beautiful spot with friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast. We will stay there again next time we visit Mindo, and hope for no one next door.

He helped us book trips, and gave us suggestions and tips. The breakfast was fabulous and the attention to detail overall was impressive. I would gladly return and happily reccomend!

Staff was knowledgeable and service was excellent. With many hostels and economical options available in Mindo, I would still recommend Casa de Piedra to friends and family, and am looking forward to visiting again!
