• cgagno763476 (6/5): Very nice hotel, but.... - This hotel is very nice, but there is a lot of noise at night in the neighborhood, because of "DOGS". Too many dogs in this area barking at night. Hard to sleep even with wndows closed. Excellent breakfast, very gentle personel. If they could solve the problem with the dogs, I would give them a "5".
• Riever (10/5): Excellent boutique hotel - Everything about this hotel from the friendly staff to the beautifully appointed rooms was excellent. A tastefully restored, colonial style building, nicely situated in a quiet street a short distance from the town centre. Very comfortable beds and pillows, good breakfast choices and the staff went way beyond the call of duty to help us with a matter unrelated to the hotel. A masterclass in how to run a boutique hotel.
• suzace (8/5): Vacation and Spanish school - Arrived here to find a lovely small hotel, after a long trip from Vancouver via Toronto. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They also accommodated our early breakfast time during the week while we attended Spanish school. Breakfast very good, fresh daily. Our room was clean and bed very good.

Simplemente una casa - Pagamos por una habitación superior y recibimos una habitación en el último piso x escalera, la tv tenía mucha interferencia y se veia mal. En la recepción nos dijeron que lamentablemente se veia mal. En el cuarto de baño ni habia donde poner el jabón o el shampoo en el suelo, osea que había que agacharse cada vez que uno se tenia que enjabonar. No había gorra de ducha para el pelo, estuvimos 5 noches. Un desastre. El último día no pusieron ni shampoo ni jabón para el cuerpo. Prometieron cambiar a otra habitación pero no lo hicieron a pesar de que el hotel estaba vacío. Una estafa. No volvería ni lo recomendaría. Pésimo.
• Verified traveler (10/5): - A cozy hotel in a nice & convenient part of Vina del Mar. Refurbished about 5 years, it has an old world feel with new furniture & other modern "workings". I liked it so much better than a large chain hotel. We walked everywhere, easily took the train to Valparaiso (station is close by), and found delicious restaurants close by. Quite a find!

Fascinating lady, traveled and perfect English. Viña Del Mar is a charming, safe town. Lots to see and do. We have stayed at bed and breakfasts to Ritz Carlton. Our stay here was at the top of the List. Charming home like one was coming home to their own well maintained place. Used the garden and sitting rooms. Great location walked everywhere. Breakfast excellent as well. This is a find.

• Daydream786834 (10/5): Great stay - Beautiful, well maintained hotel in a quiet neighborhood, convenient to both Valparaiso and Viña Del Mar. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful and attentive staff. We appreciated the secure, off street parking.

• Judy (10/5): - A very nice reasonably priced boutique hotel (Inn) in Vina del Mar. It has a very comfortable common sitting room that can be used by guests to read and enjoy a glass of wine after a day of sight seeing. Breakfast was included and was a very well stocked buffet with high quality food. The staff on the front desk are very nice and extremely helpful. Location was good and easy walk to the bus stop and metro station. The beach was also walkable (about a 20 min easy walk....mostly flat). There are a number of restaurants about a 15 min walk away however on our second last night we found a small pizza and pasta place that had just opened that serves all homemade food. It is at the top of the street (a 5 min walk away) and is owned by two young ladies. One is Chilean and the other is Italian and they both speak english. It was so good we went there twice. Highly reccomend Hotel Cassinetta.
• silviaaroundtheworld (8/5): Great base for exploring the coast - This is probably one of the most affordable hotels we stayed at for our honeymoon, for sure it was the best value for money! The hotel is a converted grand villa, as such you get the feeling you are somebody's guest rather than a hotel guest, in a good way of course! Unfortunately there isn't any view as such, the best option probably being facing the garden, and the small parking with it, anyway one should come here to explore the coast and then lounge in the evening, so for that purpose i found Cassinetta exccellent The conversion was designed by an architect and one can see little design touches throughout the house, in particular the living where guests are invited to use the facility, and so we did as we had dinner in most nights as the living area has a table for two which no one was using and they were happy to provide glasses plates cutlery etc Our room was big and airy with a small bathroom which could be made more functional by adding a small had bidet and a mirror shelf for toiletries Breakfast was a welcome change, a sign of return to civilization maybe, with Chia seeds and avocado available at breakfast! Only unsweetened almond milk was missing, but maybe that's not a thing in Chile yet I would recommend the property to add a bookshelf for guests book swap. At the moment they do have a couple of books for sale, which I found weird as ok it's not a hostel but many luxury hotels have such facility as guests do tend to leave behind finished books anyway and it's convenient to be able to do a swap at your hotel rather than having to find a nearby hostel, as I ended up doing instead

• trumpetsteak (10/5): Small scale, homey spot to check out Valparaíso - For what we were looking for, this spot was great. The room (we had a mid-size room) was great, though the TV was a bit small. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was fine. There was a party next door one night, but that stuff happens. Nice hardwood floor and furniture. Parking was on property, and gated. The breakfast was fine as well. Best part, though, was the high quality and genuinely supportive hotel staff. The answered all the questions we had about how to get around town, where to go, etc. They even had extra metro cards to let folks borrow if you did not have time to pick one up. I would easily stay here again. Heck, they even had a nice welcome gift for us when we checked in!

• UlrichM19 (10/5): Cozy, tranquil respite in Viña Del Mar - We were greeted warmly upon entering the gated mansion which was beautifully restored into the hotel it is today. Our room, on the top floor overlooking the yard with a view of the town and Pacific Ocean, was homey and sophisticated with a wonderful skylight over the spa-like shower and a Nespresso machine where more pods could be purchased at the front desk. The breakfast with the handmade Kombucha, yogurts and variety of foods was top knock. With a lot for our rental car and in walking distance to the beach, restaurants and all the sights, it was a great experience and we will definitely stay when we return. Highly recommended even if you want to visit Valparaiso too, which we did.

• stefdoj (8/5): Very pleasant stay - We had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Cassinetta and happily recommend it. It's a large mansion house with 12 rented rooms, a living room off the lobby and a bright, pleasant breakfast room (though I must say that breakfast wasn't terribly interesting). The staff was terrific: personable and extremely helpful. And the room was bright and certainly large enough for us. On the downside, aside from the barking dogs that others have mentioned (and which were no big deal) the neighborhood is hilly and residential with nothing really nearby (except a small grocery and a laundromat). There's no where to walk to, and to go out to dinner you need to get a cab or drive a mile to the area where there are blocks of restaurants, cafes, and shops. The location is the only reason for the 4 instead of a 5.
• tuliov991 (10/5): Well run and very accommodating - I stayed just one night here and could have stayed more. The place was recommended by my brother. Normally, when in Viña, I stay at one of the chain hotels. This time the one I go to was full. I would return to Cassinetta because it was comfortable, clean, well run, friendly, and the breakfast was abundant and of high quality. If I had one criticism it would be the poor internet signal. Otherwise, great place.
• mkdelbusto (10/5): Excellent Service - We were so very pleased with Hotel Cassinetta. The staff is the best part. All the gentleman at the front desk were so friendly and ready to help. They knew us by name and gave many recommendations as well as setting up drivers for us. We worked with them on-line before our arrival as well. The rooms were beautiful, clean and just the right size. The lobby area was very convenient and always stocked with coffee, water and goodies. The included breakfast was better than any I have had. The location was excellent as well. Close enough to everything but not on the main streets where you have a lot of noise. They were also kind enough to hold our bags all day after we checked out so we could continue to explore Vina del Mar. We have traveled to many islands in Central America and Mexico and have high expectations. Hotel Cassinetta met all of them.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent stay at Embassy - This hotel is a well kept jewel. We have been traveling for 2 weeks across Chile and Argentina and this find was what we needed. It was quiet nights sleep. The staff was helpful but not intrusive. The breakfast was homemade, special order, what we wanted not buffet. There is no elevator but stairs were wide and easy to move through. Nice, safe neighborhood to walk around.

We stayed in room 201 which had a small patio overlooking the hill with fruit trees. Very pleasant. In a quiet neighborhood not far from downtown.

• 575pamp (10/5): Great Room and Friendly Service - We stayed for 2 nights. The room was perfect...very comfortable with a modern bathroom. The guys at the front desk could not have been nicer. Their English was quite good and they were very accommodating. We had to leave for our flight quite early the last morning and they arranged our transportation to the airport and checked us out the night before so we could get up and go.

The breakfast is superb, the entire hotel spotless and modern, all in all, a bargin 5 star accomodation. Parking is provided, the gardens are a joy, and the neighborhood is spectacular to explore.

Two tours were taken as a result of brochures in the lobby. Both were excellent!

• Michael (10/5): A very very Special Hotel. - We stayed for three nights before a Cruise and wish that we had stayed a few day more. Great Location... located in residential neighborhood, but only a 10 minute walk to Via del Mar. Quite and safe area. Friendly staff.. very helpful as to things to do and places to go. Via del Mar is where all the action, food, and entertainment is.. We loved the room on the third floor. Staff took our luggage to our room and collected it when we were ready to go to our cruise ship. Taxis are cheap, but not required for anything , but the port. We had a great stay, they also have a family room downstairs that has 24 hour tea & coffee... could always find a snack on the table..very nice.

• Pat (10/5): Nice Boutique Hotel stayed one night Jan 17, 2016 - Nice Boutique Hotel within walking distance to downtown Valparaiso shopping, restaurants and the beach. Room was on the main floor and was quiet and clean. Staff are very friendly and spoke good English. Complimentary breakfast had a choice of several items and was very delicious. Staff recommended a tour of Valparaiso which was very interesting. Hotel made all the arrangements. Guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. Picked up and dropped off at front door of Hotel. Only 4 people in the group and the guide took us to see things that other large tours would not. Hotel made all arrangements for our transportation from Santiago Airport to Hotel in Vina del Mar and also from Hotel to the cruise dock.

• Margaret (10/5): Charming Boutique Hotel - Hotel Cassinetta was everything we hoped for and more than lived up to the comments on expedia.ca website. The hotel and staff were delightful and the location excellent for a walk to the Centre and Municipal Gardens of Vina del Mar. The arrangements made for our pick up at the airport in Santiago were excellent as was the excursion we took to Casablanca and Isle Negra as well as the transfer to the Cruise Terminal in Valparaiso. The buffet breakfast in the lovely garden room was quite satisfactory. We intend to take advantage of this warm welcoming environment for a longer stay should health and age allow us to return to Chile in the future. A special advantage is Marcos's excellent English for non-Spanish guests.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Too much noise - Pros: Hotel staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was good and the buffet had a large enough variety. Rather quite neighborhood with good connection to the city center. Cons: The 2 rooms on the ground floor lack privacy and are very noisy due to their proximity to the reception; we weren’t only woken up by hotel guests entering the hotel during the night/early morning (by ringing a bell), but also at 7 AM by noises made by staff (which is especially unpleasant as we stayed during a weekend). Personally we found the noise to be unacceptable for the price we paid so we definitely wouldn’t recommend the rooms on the ground floor.

Un menú de desayuno suficientemente extenso para un hotel de pocas habitaciones. La habitación limpia, grande, de aspecto muy acogedor. Cuarto de baño limpio y suficientemente grande también. • carlos p (10/5): Charmoso hotel em Viña. - Foi um prazer se hospedar neste hotel charmoso. Trata-se de uma casa antiga reformada para hotel mas ficou muito bom, sem a sensação de "casa reformada". É clara,calma,limpa,confortável bem atendido. Café da manhã é bom mas quando tem poucos hóspedes fazem preencher um formulário com as preferências no café. Algo desnecessário. Só no último dia que colocaram bufé aberto, com frutas variadas etc, do contrário você tem que escolher entre iogurte ou ovo por exemplo... Funcionários muito atenciosos não fazendo nenhuma discriminação. Tem salas para ler e descansar na parte de baixo e um lindo jardim. Mas não dispõe de outros atrativos como piscina ou sala para exercícios. O suficiente para descansar bem. Banheiros limpos modernos, bom chuveiro. Ar condicionado frio e quente mais calefacción. Internet funcionava bem no 3o andar. Ficariamos de novo e recomendamos.

• Elsa (10/5): This is THE place to stay in Viña del Mar - Viña del mar is beautiful but also loud and crowded. If you don't mind not having a view to the ocean this place is perfect! Gorgeous, clean, great service, wonderful breakfast (always included), quiet and an easy walk to the beach and main attractions. You can take a local bus to visit Valparaiso and be there in 15 mins. Great experience, amazing value!
• Susan (10/5): Stah Here! - This was a gem of a hotel, a lovely, quiet European-style small hotel tucked into a neighborhood. There is no elevator, but staff carried out luggage to our rooms. The decor is tasteful, good art on the walls, new furniture in the rooms, comfortable gathering rooms, lovely garden. The hotel is close to really spectacular beaches and ocean views, as well as the downtown with restaurants and tourist sites. The breakfast was delicious, including fresh-baked rolls and croissants. Our only regret was that we weren't staying longer.
• Monty (10/5): Off the beaten path! - Do to a problem with another hotel, I had to quickly find another one. This one was close to the area I wanted, and although not near the beach, it seemed to be a nice hotel. We arrived and service was incredible. So friendly and willing to accommodate us. They gave us restaurant recommendations, directions, tourist destinations and more. The location is off the beaten path, and thus it is very, very quiet. The only very minor issue is that on the 3rd floor, the hot water takes a while to warm up in the morning. But this was very minor. Breakfast was very good and served either as a buffet or in some cases, your room. If you want to be in Vina del Mar, this is the location. Everything was within walking distance.

• Don and Helen (10/5): Attractive Hotel - We had a lovely 3night stay. Only 2things bothered us. Noisy dogs in the neighbourhood, something out of hotel's control, and lack of kettle in the room. This is a lovely renovated house. The bed was so comfortable, and the whole place was spotless. The staff were very obliging with jugs of boiling water when we needed it. They use an excellent taxi service as well. Good cars and polite drivers, all fairly priced.
