• Madina (1/5): Aggressive staff and safety concerns. Had to call the police (999). - I am extremely disappointed with the situation that occurred. Instead of handling the issue in a calm and professional manner, the reception staff and the manager behaved rudely, showed a lack of respect, and demonstrated poor communication skills. The interaction was aggressive and unprofessional, which escalated into a serious conflict. Moreover, the situation went beyond acceptable limits — I felt unsafe and had no choice but to call the police. Although the property marked my booking as completed, I did not actually stay there. Due to the severity of the conflict and the situation that occurred, I did not feel safe to enter or remain at the property. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. The staff clearly lack conflict resolution skills, do not follow basic standards of customer service, and resort to rude and inappropriate behavior instead of resolving issues. I strongly do not recommend this place and urge management to seriously reconsider their staff training and customer service standards. Don't be fooled by the management's polite replies to reviews. If you look at the history of feedback for this hostel, you'll see a shocking pattern: systemic rudeness and aggression from the staff. They treat guests with zero respect, escalate minor issues into huge conflicts, and then use their 'policy' as an excuse to kick people out without refunds. I experienced this personally, and seeing so many similar stories from others proves that this is just how they operate. It’s not a hospitality business; it’s a place where guests are treated as a nuisance. Avoid at all costs.

Example I ask for the manager since I don’t get anywhere with her and she said at the bar but she don’t point it out who’s the manager. It was a busy bar and that’s 4 members of staff busy serving people and I have to interrupt them one by one which is so wasted of time for nothing . It’s 4th floor with no lift and a stuck toilet. It’s on the ground floor for a coffee but that’s no cup , coffee or water. Only tea bag . It’s a living hell

Although I had booked a 5-day stay, the environment became so uncomfortable due to the behavior of your staff that I was forced to leave early. Specifically, I want to highlight the conduct of a young woman working at the front desk. Her attitude was characterized by blatant rudeness, ignorance, and a total lack of professionalism. Rather than being helpful, she displayed a "nasty" and disrespectful demeanor directly to my face without any sense of shame or hospitality. It felt as though certain staff members held a prejudiced view of the guests because it is a budget hostel. Regardless of the price point, staff are hired to provide a service and treat paying customers with basic human decency. The lack of respect I experienced made me feel unwelcome and invisible. Because of this experience, I could not complete my stay and would not recommend this hostel to others. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the training of the front-desk team to ensure no other guest is subjected to such unprofessionalism.

• Enrika (6/5): - We booked a double room with a private bathroom for three nights. Overall, our stay was okay, but there were a few things that could definitely have been better. Free breakfast was available on one of the days, but otherwise there was no breakfast option. One issue we had was with the bedding. The bed only had one double duvet, so we politely asked for an extra one — even a single duvet would have been fine — but were told there were no extras available. We were given an extra sheet instead, which was better than nothing, but still not ideal. One of the female staff members was especially kind and helpful, and I really regret not asking for her name because she was lovely. It was also disappointing to find out that the hostel’s bar and common area next to the lobby were closing, and there were rumours that the hostel itself may stop operating soon. It would have been nice to know this before booking, since the social/common areas are a big part of the hostel experience. On the positive side, the room itself was clean, and the towels and bedding were fresh. However, during our four-day stay, no one came to empty the bin or replace the towels. Maybe this is something guests need to request, but that wasn’t made clear. The room window also wouldn’t close properly, although we ended up making the best of it by using the gap to keep our drinks cold overnight. Noise was another issue. In the evenings, we could clearly hear people in the hallway, including one man having a phone conversation, and the slamming doors were quite disruptive. Check-out was unfortunately not a pleasant experience. One staff member was rude and seemed annoyed when she asked who had checked us in and we couldn’t give her a name — only that it was a man. She said, in an irritated tone, that some information was missing on the cards. That really didn’t seem like something that should have been taken out on guests. Another staff member even agreed that it wasn’t our responsibility.

I told reception, nothing was done--but they did compensate me with breakfast. Then room key not working, gave me wrong bed I have to shlep up and down 3 flights to get this corrected. No real common area to eat relax, very small between floors with bar-like seats. it was filthy and disgusting so everybody just ate in the rooms.

Great location. - I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the beds were - although I was initially put in an all-female dorm on a top bunk and I had to ask to be changed to a bottom bunk as I have to get up during the night - something to bear in mind if you're like me! I ended up in a mixed dorm on the 4th floor (no lift but I was travelling light) but there were only two other people. The location is great - especially as it is 2 minutes from where I was working. I was surprised to be asked for photo ID at Reception, and I had just had my handbag stolen so could have done with more sympathy from the person on duty. The guy later that night when I returned was better, and the guy in the morning was the friendliest and most approachable of all - he even tried to go out and get some gluten-free bread (I had asked for this on the request form several days prior) but he couldn't as he was the only staff member present.

The location is convenient right outside Hammersmith station with district lines into central. Santander cycle bikes minutes away. Great food options locally for full breakfast (IKEA) and tasty pizza in the deep AM's (Panzerrotto & Co) Breakfast could have been more inspiring. Noisy traffic on the main road outside. Everything I didn't like. Felt insulted and humiliated. Left under the rain to find a place to sleep and I didn't even get a refund. Fighting for the refund isn't even worth it. I spent a lot more to find a place to sleep that night.
