LorenzoBandini (2/5): The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life - This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my life. I made a huge mistake not checking Tripadvisor before I booked this hotel. There are two music clubs on the first floor of this hotel play music until 2 AM. On a Tuesday. My room was on the second floor, which meant it might as well have been right in the club. If you plan on staying in this hotel and getting sleep… Which is generally a reasonable expectation at a hotel… forget about it. Staying here was a huge rip off.
krauser848 (2/5): An historic landmark but way overpriced - It's a beautiful old building, built in 1926 and the location in historic downtown is great. That's where the positives end, for us. They put us in a room that measured about 12 X 15. The closet was as wide as Rob's suitcase and about 4 feet tall. The bathroom was about the size of a broom closet. We had to sit on the bed to watch the little TV. The water just trickled out of the faucet and the baseboard electric heat barely worked. This is important when it's 20F outside. Our room was freezing. We had to request extra blankets to try to get warm for the night. There were 4 electrical outlets, one behind the bed. They were too loose to keep anything plugged in so our phones and little speaker ran out of juice and our laptops were borderline. We were supposed to stay 4 nights but were so frustrated we checked out in the morning after one night. While I understand that the hotel is old, an historic landmark and all, the poor accommodations certainly did not justify the high price we were charged plus $25/night to park in the tiny little parking lot. Fortunately, we were reimbursed after checking out 3 nights early.

azole99 (2/5): Do not stay at this hotel. - Not a place for families. Nobody at the front desk could care less about what you have to say. If you stay on the lower floors, you will feel like you are in a club. "Management" cannot do anything. Please do not give this place your time and money.
galucas (6/5): Not the cleanest - Super cute historic hotel in a great location to downtown Flagstaff with a great bar. The downfall was the cleanliness. The bathroom had a bunch of hair on the floor in the tub when we arrived. In addition, the front desk staff initially gave us a room that was already occupied! Imagine our surprise to open the door to the lights on and other people's things in the room! The room was also a bit noisy as you could hear the street traffic, so ear plugs are a must!
112lillianm (10/5): Greta hotel to visit - Very charming historic hotel in Flagstaff! If you love places with character and history, don’t skip this hotel. It’s full of charm — you can almost smell the history (in the best way! 😂). The old wood has that classic vintage scent that adds to the atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of everything. A perfect spot to experience Flagstaff’s historic vibe.
karenwise3232 (2/5): Zero star hotel in Flagstaff - If I could give it zero stars I would. Beautiful old hotel located in downtown Flagstaff proximal to restaurants and shops. That’s where the good review ends. Hotel was dirty, smelled like smoke and must, key cards didn’t work, and bathroom sink ran at a trickle. What was even more disappointing was that the staff was unresponsive. I attempted to speak to a manager in person and via phone. I made several phone calls after my stay, left messages and sent emails. No response at all. I would NOT recommend this hotel. For the price of the rooms it is not worth it.

Mette (8/5): Great location! - It’s an older hotel; but, it was fine! Saturday night noise from downstairs was pretty loud even being on the 4th floor. The location was great for exploring town. Parking is first come, first served and not much of it.

Alexey (4/5): - Flagstaff is wonderful. The fall colors are what we are here for. Our room is far too small! I paid more money for a bigger room with our own bathroom but the bathroom we got was tiny, tiny! It feels like the hotel may have divided one bigger room and turned it into two to make more money. My partner and I aren’t large people and we had a hard time fitting into the tiny shower provided. Also the windows have lovely views covered in several dubious smudges that give me the ick. There’s hair in the shower drain and the water has a hard time coming out of the faucet.

Nicole (8/5): - Overall the hotel is very dirty. Think dusty baseboards, stained carpet, dirty corners and cobwebs on light fixtures in lobby. The things you use, bathrooms and beds, are clean. Staff was very friendly. Lady at the front desk left her station to fetch us an extra pillow. Go early to get parking in their lot. Unfortunately we did not encounter any spirits.

Lounge was a hot spot for a young crowd which is fine, but there were times people were hanging out on the sidewalk and bit noisy. I'd suggest the security guy I saw working maintain the level of outside noise of bar patrons for people like myself staying there to sleep.
Alejandro (10/5): - The jacuzzi was great and we loved our room and my partner and I just love how everything is within walkable distance!! Must stay place when visiting Flagstaff, only thing that I found inconvenient is that if the hotel parking lot is full, you have to find street parking (which can be far) and pay for that which isn’t a big deal but just be prepared. Overall a great stay at this beautiful haunted hotel!
Christopher (10/5): - Everything was serviceable for a historic hotel. I liked how every room was unique and likely furnished from estate sales or antique shops. My only suggestion would be to keep the beds/bedding uniform between all rooms and use duvets…old bedspreads and blankets are charming in a cabin but not in a hotel.
jill (4/5): - The front desk staff who checked us in was terrible. Unfriendly. Fast talking. No eye contact. No welcome. No smile. A few hours later when we entered the area by the front desk to access the elevator , the attendant (a different one ) gave no smile or acknowledgment. One time when we entered he hotel , There was staff at the door area cursing amongst each other about something. I believe it was in jest but , it was shocking to have no greeting but instead hear cussing.

We waited a half an hour for another drink while she kept telling us to wait while she served people who had just walked in. It was rude. As I guest of the hotel she treated us with total disrespect. The hotel is old. We had adventures that made us leave the hotel at 4:00am. It would have been nice to have a coffee pot in the room…just saying

Camron (6/5): - We booked our room on a Friday which we learned is live music night. If you want a quiet night don't get a room on the east side, but the hotel does give complimentary ear plugs.
Tiffany (2/5): - I reserved a wheelchair accessible room 7 weeks a head of my visit, there were 5 calls weeks ahead ensuring I'd be placed properly. When I checked in I was assigned the "Bob Hope" suite. My chair BARELY fit in the room where there was a small path just around the bed, I wasn't able to access the restroom at all, and the entire room (including into the restroom) was adorned in long shaggy carpet so I was unable to ambulate in the room at all. When I reported the issue I was first offered half off my stay, I had to argue to get a full refund. This left my sons and I scrambling to find accommodations (we finally did 10 min away for over double what my initial reservation price had been) and by the time we got checked in I missed the event I came to town for making the entire trip a waste! I emailed management on 9/22, today is 9/26 and I haven't even received a response. Very Disappointing from a place I previously considered my favorite in all of AZ.

Sabrina (6/5): Awesome vibe, some things to consider - The age and original 1927 look and feel of this hotel, paired with the centralized location to basically everything makes this hotel worth the stay. The downside... parking is atrocious. There are about 10 spaces total available to hotel guests. Park anywhere else and you have to pay. The desk clerk was not helpful answering parking questions either, so if you don't get a hotel parking space, you're on your own. If you're lucky enough to get hotel parking, you're golden because everything is within walking distance. Because of the age of this hotel and the fact there is a very popular bar/lounge at its base, noise is a bit of an issue. However, if you can deal with the noise, the bar is a really awesome place to hang out. Cleanliness is a bit of an issue, mostly because rugs and comforters just need to be replaced. Overall, I loved the vibe enough to put up with the rest and I will definitely stay there again.

We loved the decor, the ambience and how everything seems very on theme for the atmosphere we expected and were sold on when we looked it up! It was beautiful. The hotel does need to do a better job of warning guests of the “nightlife” that is mentioned on website. It’s states there is some music you will hear. This is NOT a fact. You will absolutely be kept up until at least 1-2am with not only loud club music but a loud yelling DJ. The hotel needs to be advertised as a “Club Hotel” where you come to NOT sleep. I appreciate the night life but again, the false misinformation on how loud it truly is should be rectified. Besides that it was everything I expected!

Seanmichael (10/5): - Love the hotel and preservation of this historic site. We stayed next to some "haunted" rooms but there really wasn't anything out of the ordinary that happened during our stay. This was easily the loudest hotel I have ever stayed at as the bars and street were both very active. Parking was anxiety inducing as I could either find a spot close or walk 2 or 3 blocks and pay if the lot was full. The bed was not terribly comfortable but was fine. I would probably stay here again as walking around historic downtown was great and offered plenty of things to do.

I love this historic hotel, I love the antique feel of it, and its central location in downtown Flagstaff is ideal. We had a corner room with a great view, a comfortable bed, and fast wifi. Check in and check out was a breeze, and the lively atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. Parking is limited, but nearly everything is within walking distance.

Connector765214 (2/5): Don't Waste Your Money! - I booked a Standard full rm from 8/31/2025 -09/04/2025, but at time of booking was told I would be put on the 3rd floor in a haunted room, that is why I stayed there. My Son made these reservations in June of 2025 and payment in full. Upon arrival, my room had been rented out and was put in a different room and was told when it became available I would be moved, I never heard another word from anyone. That night I had an incident where I had tripped on the threshhold etween the bathroom and living area, I had both my arms hurt and went downstairs for first aid,i had showed the clerk my arms bleeding, received bandages, ointments and went back to room, the desk clerk did not make any notation of this what so ever , but i had pictures to prove the following day with the same bandages on my arms, blue as a matter of fact. I got these from front desk clerk who was very nice. When I called reservations to complain about the way I was done, they made it out to sound as if I was lying, when I showed receipts, payment in full, and then photos, they said they considered it closed...The hotel is very loud on the 2nd floor from the bar, and very outdated! And when dealing with the Lady that called me she wasn't very Friendly to say the least!.If your going to stay in a place to get rest with modern facilities, this is not your place, its loud and you have to ask the desk clerk for ice if that tells you anything. Robert (8/5): Good Hotel with some exceptions - This is a great Hotel but has become a hot spot for the young college kids. They have taken over the night life leaving no room for the hotel guests to get a drink and socialize. Also, the bed was rock hard so could not get good sleep. That and the music goes to 2:00AM so be prepared with ear plugs. We still like Monty V's but maybe section off the far end of bar for paying guests only and let the kids wait on us instead of other way around.

There is many ways to approach a customer if the did something wrong and treatening to kick them of the property is not one of them. No civility or effort to correct the action. Bathroom in our room was not clean properly either. The location of the hotel is great, but the parking isnt. Front desk is responsive and gives local recommendation. Overall the stay was 4/5. Hotel is historic and has a great ambiance.

KIMBERLEY (10/5): THE ICONIC MONTE V DIDN"T DISAPPOINT! - Went to college in Flag, but never had the opportunity to experience the Monte V. So glad I have now! It's just perfect! A gem! A welcoming lobby, bar area is great, room was clean & cozy. We were on top floor so didn't have any noise issues or concerns. We slept like babies! Such a great-central location to everything you need! Awesome food and entertainment within steps. The only bummer was the rep at front desk didn't seem very happy or welcoming.

Christine (8/5): - I gave this hotel a 4 star due to it being what it said would be. As a ghost hunter, I give it 5 stars since there is a hot bed of paranormal activity which would satisfy any curious soul for proof of the other side. I did not give it overall, a perfect score because it is noisy. There's a bar Rendevous on the lobby floor that has late night drinking activity. In addition, it is located in downtown Flagstaff where you start hearing morning activity around 6 am. It's great as a one night stay, but for a longer visit, I would put the noise factor in when making your decision about a longer stay.

They have this very small alleyway as a parking. And all of the parking spots are literally always filled up. We had to park like three blocks down. Very annoying.

Maren (2/5): Do not stay here - If only zero stars were available . . . arrived at 11:30pm via Amtrak. Lobby is sandwiched between a club and a crazy bar. Drunks roaming the lobby, loud, loud, loud. I asked if I would hear this from my room, and I was handed earplugs. Took the elevator to the 2nd floor because drunks were making out in the stairwell. My room door wasn’t locked, I went in and almost cried. Flashing disco lights outside my window, dirty toilet, it was awful. Called five nearby hotels, nothing available. Thank goodness for the earplugs and pm aspirin, I was able to sleep. Checked out first thing in the morning. Asked for manager to call, never happened. I was told they would be in next day, they were not. When I called back, told later this week. So I lost a nights stay, better than staying there again. This place could be so much, but sadly it’s not. Sadly, and definitely my mistake, I had not read all of the reviews.

Our extra guest out by the elevator was fun too. He played nice.

Adrienne (6/5): - This hotel is a true architectural gem with a rich history. It needs additional love and care before it can host guests. Bathrooms need to be redone, rooms need better decor that is more true to the period, and less pieced together. floors need attention. The most challenging part, was that it was incredibly noisy until 3am because I was above the bar - request a room AWAY from the bar - people were loud on the street all night. Some sort of delivery woke me again at 4am. This hotel deserves more love and care and a substantial financial investment to bring it back to its former glory.
SCOTT (6/5): Not so Good! - I first stated this prosperity and approximately 2007. A lot of things have changed since then and few of them for the better. This property has not been updated since I can remember. I had the Freddie Mercury room and the carpet was absolutely filthy. The bedding was probably there in 2007. Time to sell this property to some investors that can put some money in Life360 back into it and turn it into his former glory. I won’t be staying here again after having saved their previously at least a half a dozen times.

806simplyt (2/5): Absolute hell in need of new management - I can't give a zero which is sad. The photos they show are not the rooms you get. The first night my room was disgusting and so dirty I actually checked for bed bugs. Fire hazard electeical extensions cords and cobwebs and stains. I know its an old huilsing but come on. I am not a complainer so I didn't make a big deal. I also had a shared bathroom which does not show when you book it through any of the extra sites.It only shows if you go directly to this hotels website. And the shared bathroom is just about as clean as my room was. The next night there was no parking because everyone was parking for the bar.The young lady Ava was extremely helpful with trying to help me.Because honestly I just wanted to check out and be done rather than wait for parking to go Stay in a dirty room another night. Her supervisor showed up. It's not the general manager But some chick who I guess is the assistant manager. I waved at Ava to let her know.I found the space because I had been waiting over an hour. The free parking they give you a printed piece if paper and i dont know my way around and couldnt find it (which the manager also called me stupid over) When The manager saw me wave at Ava she stomped her feet and pushed her away back to the building. I wasn't even going to address the situation but after that I addressed the "manager". When Eva called to tell her I was there to speak with her.She kicked her way through the door from the back And came stomping over. I let her know that eva was acting more of a customer service advocate and manager than her and that was unfortunate. After a lengthy back-and-forth, she advised me that she did not get paid enough to care that she needed this paycheck, thats why she was there. That's why she keeps this job and that her general manager is in thailand which sucks. I let her know.I was here due to work and that I understand sometimes we have to do things we don't like to do but that's part of being management if she had to come in early to assist. That IS part of a manager role, I know bc im here in that role for work. She said no I don't agree and I don't really care. I don't get paid enough to care and if you had any issues you should have told me. This is an old hotel and there are nicer rooms. She then told me.I should have complained last night And she would have put me in a "nicer "room. I explained to her again that I had no intentions of complaining until I saw how she acted and pushed ava away and was being pretty aggressive with her. It ended with me telling her that I hope treating me so rudely and disgustingly and laughing in my face when I have nothing but civil calm and peaceful with her made her feel better. She said it didn't and I told her.I really hoped it did because at least something Good Could come out of such a disgusting attitude and action. I've then asked the young lady's name and when she told me Ava I advise the other manager I didn't need her name that I was sure the gm would know who she was. She was confident the GM would not care about how she was acting or speaking so I'm guessing this is common for her. I also asked her to please treat Ava kindly because she was an excellent face of this hotel And more management and respectable than someone who's getting paid to do the job. As I left to the elevator she began saying nasty things about me. Honestly it's not even the rooms that is the biggest issue, it's her and her complete lack of even human decency. I wanted to stay here bc of the "haunted history" instead I got less and a motel 6 quality with the attitude of an unruly child in charge. Don't waste your money.

Plus, it was the end of May and the rooms were uncomfortably hot. No air conditioning provided until June I understand. And the furnishings in the room were very worn, however the beds were reasonably comfortable. A couple of the staff members were amazing but the other half were rude. If you’re picky, don’t stay here. You’d be better off at one of the modern chains across from the university.
