• Official (3/5): I stayed. However might be the last.🤦🏽‍♂️ - The water was hot. Refrigerator worked, staff was cool. That’s where it stopped. It was kinda clean, you can tell they tried. In need of renovation if it was renovated, it would actually be a good hotel but for now it looked like a 70s porn movie. I never stayed in a hotel where I had to go buy bedsheets and pillows, but hey, it’s a first for everything.

• Wilson (4/5): - It's cheap. Overpriced Rooms not clean Bathrooms are horrible. Holes in the bed spread of smoking rooms. Curtains raggedy. Smoking rooms have no ashtrays. Holes in the drywall.
• Talbott (5/5): not likely to return unless nothing else avai;able. - Main lobby was closed off. Manager and family lived in office and reception space. No parking where room was placed. Attendant not thought full on accommodations. Had specific peculiar functions that should have been addressed at check in (ie shower function, heat/AC, walking distance from room, broken table, terrible security locks). I am ADA. Mattress was very hard with no pad. Frame under mattress was mismatched (shin buster). Freezer had leftover frozen alcohol in it. Molding around door was non-existent - could hear everything outside room and air temp leakage. Service personnel knocked needed medication underbed while cleaning. cheap, was best alternative for situation. Would not have chosen location if I was fully aware of property. Had to blast AC to drowned out Highway traffic noise.

• Matthew (2/5): - Read several reviews before I booked and there was about the same for bad and good. Wanted to try a new place outside of va beach because I’m just here for work. Front looked decent ish. Got to the window to check in and the lady was very nice. Pulled around back and it was another world. Got into my room And just plain terrible. The mold and paint peeling, nasty sticky carpet, 80’s bedding, gross bathroom. I was tired and figured I’d lay on the bed clothed not even taking off my shoes and at least get some sleep. Didn’t feel like taking a shower at that point was a good idea. Fell asleep to be woken up at 12am to no power. Called it then, got my stuff and tried to sleep in my truck the rest of the night. Absolutely no go, I would not bring my family to a place like this none the less let my dog be in this place. Definitely do not stay here, I don’t know how places like this don’t get shut down.

• Devilbrat69 (1/5): Dirty - The location was nice and close to where we needed to be. The first room I went into the ac didn't work and it was filthy, the 2nd room had a bad smell, cigarette burns in the bed, the shower was dirty. We were afraid to sleep under the covers so we slept on top.

The man who brought sheets was very very old and only brought 1 sheet and got disgusted with me when I daid I wanted all linan changed. Did not have continental breakfast. Ice machine broken. The grounds were dirty.

Mini fridge. Mini microwave. Quiet. Very nice and helpful desk attendant. Helped me to my room and assisted with door. I would stay again. Price right with condition of room. Nice tv with cable.

Hair still in tub and shower. No fan in bathroom, AC barely cooled room. Musty, dusty, disgusting. No amenities other than a refrigerator and microwave which fuctioned moderately.

• Nathan (2/5): - We booked this as we were traveling because the pictures looked good. When we got there at 10 pm it felt very unsafe for our family to stay. We ended up finding a different place on down the road.

• Kiara (3/5): Wasn’t for us. - Nothing about this was convenient for my family. I didn’t like the staff, there were multiple overdoses from customers and staff too, checking in was a hassle, and the location was horrible. I didn’t like anything besides having a bed to sleep in until I could leave.
• Marjoretta (4/5): Disappointing Nights Stay At American Inn Chesapeake-Portsmouth - DISLIKED!! No breakfast mentioned or offered. The outside of Motel had trash and litter around the entryway, sidewalk, stairway and parking lot. The latch key lock was missing inside the room. There was a nasty looking, patched 6 inch crack in the bathroom sink. The towels and washcloths felt rough and very thin. I understand why...probably location of motel & for safety....but was cold at check-in ...standing outside...not being allowed in lobby. Trouble cutting on TV....should have been told at check-in. Firetrucks sirens blaring the next morning outside our room...which was also located right by a noisy highway. So $75 for less than a 12 hour stay...not worth it; we couldn't wait to leave and tho we come to that area quite often I don't want to stay there again. I wouldn't recommend to family and friends. Our usual hotel was booked full...that's how we ended up there...not making prior reservations on a last minute trip. LIKE....room was available on short notice. Sorry I put comments in wrong boxes....

If I could give it a -6, I would - The bed was comfy No hot water to take a bath, then after finding that out, the floor outside the bathroom was soaked. Hole in the shower had toilet paper stuck in it. The pillows....well you might as well not have any they were so flat. And the television didn't work. It sucked!
