- Juan (3/5): Poor -
- Samart (5/5): Passable - cheap and easy
- GEORGES (8/5): - Excellent accueil.
- Conor (8/5): GOOD STAFF COBWEBS TOO MUCH - Our stay at comfort was ok. The place a bit rundown and a bit off the beaten track. Saying that checkin was good with forms allready filled out for us. We were in our rooms within 5 minutes of arriving. The girl that checked us in also cooked omlettes for us in the morning and she was nice and helpful. With a bit of revamp and clean up this could become a nicer place to stay. The prices were good so no complaints there.
Our stay was ok for 1 night.
- Kaimukimo (2/5): Spacious room and gentle lighting - Booked through Agoda and got cheaper price than what the guest house charge for walkin customer ($20). The buildings are very old, hot water runs but can't fill up a bathtub. Shower water stream was also not steady flow but enough pressure to wash hair and body. Towels and sheets were fine, everyday changed. But cleaning room wasn't done well and coffee cups weren't washed, the desk top was dusty. Refrigerator and electric kettle worked fine. You'd bring in your tea or coffee. It offered just few strips of black instant nescafe. Aircon worked with remote but no remote for tv. As for charging a phone, electric outlets are provided by the bed.
Neighborhood had many Karaoke massage places along with many homes and restaurants, but it was very quiet at night time. The location wise it is near Royal Phnom Penh University and in walking distance. It's just 50 meters there were good Taiwanese restaurants. This and cafe we're easily accessible and made the stay ok.
- Stefan (6/5): Good for the price - ok area and nice staff
- CH (6/5): Simple value-for-value hotel close to Russian Bld - Value for money guesthouse. Maintenance is poor but staff and owner are very willing to correct the situation. Only they need to be informed!! Besides the owner, most staff do no speak English. Many Khmer and Chinese eateries in the neighborhood both air conditioned and along the pavement. No fancy cafes and not touristic.
- bethanyl739 (2/5): Disappointed - We booked here based on pictures we saw on hotels.com... but the pictures did not correspond with the property. For example, Comfort House listed that it had a fitness center. It did not. Our window opened to a narrow alley and walls of other buildings. Ceilings were low, light fixtures blinked, and part of a covered pipe came up out of the bathroom floor right where someone is supposed to stand to shower. I would hate to slip, fall, and hit it. I'm sure it's adequate, but it did not match the description it used to describe itself. Deception is not something we like to reward, and so left an hour after arrival.
- Janice (10/5): A hidden gem - Huge, clean, comfortable room with all the amenities we wanted. The staff could not have been better. So kind and helpful. They really went out of their way to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. At first, we thought the location was a bit out of the mainstream, but after arrival we discovered that tuk-tuks and taxis were cheap and it only took minutes to get to the hubs of activity and city sights. Would recommend renting a motorbike for ease of getting around, even to outlying areas. The restaurant offered food at very reasonable (cheap) prices. The selection was limited but delicious. This place was a highlight in our travels in Asia.
- Pauline (6/5): A comfort stay! - It's a little away from town but their staff are polite and friendly. They tried their best to fit in your requests!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Adequate accommodation with excellent service. - The service was excellent. The staff were always friendly, and extremely helpful, despite some language barriers. The room was fine, but the air conditioner didn't work very well, which made our stay a bit unpleasant. The hotel is situated a little outside of the main parts of Phnom Penh that a tourist would want to frequent, so staying at a hotel closer to the river that is a bit more expensive would likely work out to the same price per day.
- B7092ZXjohnw (8/5): Clean and friendly - I think that this Hotel is superb, clean friendly and very reasonably priced
Good free wi.fi,free laundry.the staff will go out of their way to help you
I have now been to this hotel 5times,it is in a quiet area of the city but only 10 away by tut,tut from the city, would recommend this hotel to anybody.
- Moussie_12 (10/5): Very Nice Staff - I was a little worried when I first arrived as it was a little out of city center however had a great stay. The staff went out of their way to make me comfortable and help me out. The room was very nice, big bed, clean, and has a safe. They provide room service and you get a free breakfast. Its only a $2.00 tuk tuk to get to the Royal Palace and from there you will not have any issues getting around..lol. The hotel computer was broken when I was there so the manager of the hotel brought his lap top to my room for me to use and send emails which was super nice. I was very pleased with the service here and this is a great place to stay for a couple or if your traveling solo and want some quiet time.
- 943waynea (8/5): Satisfaction gauranteed - I stayed here at the end of December 2013 and was very pleased. Clean rooms and great location. It's far enough away from the slimy tourist areas yet close enough as well. Great local food around and always a taxi available. Rooms were very clean and very comfortable.
- marthadp (10/5): Interesting and delightful - We enjoyed talking with the intelligent staff members, who also provided excellent service at cheap prices. Slightly off the beaten track, the inn introduced us to the sounds and colors of urban life in Phnom Penh. Breakfasts and dinners were delightful. We more than took advantage of free laundry services. By far, our favorite inn so far in Cambodia.
- bigaljo (6/5): Spoilt by the Meagre Breakfast - We stayed at Comfort House for two nights at the end of November 2013. Our room on the 3rd. floor was spacious and reasonably equipped. There was no lift and no assistance was offered with our luggage.
The bed was comfortable but a little hard. The view(No view) from the small balcony was of the outside staircase to the adjacent building which was an apartment block and approx 10 feet away. The occupants of that block could see into our room. The balcony was full of pots of plants and so was unusable anyway.
The location of the hotel was poor with little of interest outside, but it was easy and about $2.00 to get a tuk tuk to the centre of Phnom Penh and to the Riverside where all the action seems to be. It took us approx 45 minutes to walk to the riverside area for the most part along the Confederation de la Russie. How we survived that waIk I do not know as there were hundreds of motorbike and scooters using the same pavement too. Most travelling in the opposite direction to ours. Definately not to be reccomended.
Back to the hotel.
The breakfast was poor compared with other hotels we have stayed in that were at a similar price. The Omelete looked as if it had been moulded into a tube shape. I dont know how. On our last day the tea at breakfast was stewed. I asked for a second cup and on checkout was charged an extra $1. The dollar charge was negligable but it made us feel that our custom and satisfaction was not really valued. It was penny pinching, especially considering that we hadn't used the tea or coffee that was provided in the room on our last morning anyway.
We thought Pnom Penh was a great place, with plenty to see and do.Shame we only had two days there.
Would we stay at Comfort House again, I'm afraid not.
- AdaDDO (10/5): Great clean budget hotel just outside the city core - For my last weekend in Phnom Penh, I wanted a hotel located closer to the airport area (family there) and found this new guesthouse at a very reasonable price. The reviews were right, and I did get my huge twin room with balcony. My family could visit me; there was a sitting area in the bedroom, plus the dining table in the back (fridge and complimentary coffee, tee, and water), and the chair on the balcony. Clear TV and good AC. This was the first time that I had a bathtub in the washroom during my three-weeks stay in Cambodia - didn't use though. The room was well lit and I felt safe staying there on my own. There's a big school across from the guesthouse, so it's quite lively during the day.
There's also a market a couple of blocks away, selling food and services to the local clientele. Good experience for tourists! Hotel had arranged for a tuk tuk to pick me from the bus stop, although the $ 5.00 fare was a little high for the short distance. Free laundry and free breakfast are included. Free room service if you need. Tuk tuks are available around the guesthouse or they can call one for you during the evening. I did book the room directly with the management and they were always quick to respond. My only disappointment was the dark washroom: high ceiling and only one light. But there's a table and mirror next to the balcony for putting make up on. Very clean!
- bergb (10/5): Nice & easy - Nice guesthouse, a little bit away from the crowd. It takes a 2 US$ TukTuk ride to go to the tourist areas (riverfront). Rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Free Wifi, free breakfast and free laundry was offered.
The staff was very helpful and organized visa & bustrip to Vietnam for us. Their english could be a little bit better.
Around the guest house you won´t finde to many restaurants, but there are some.
We can recommend the one with the Soup BBQ (when you leve the hotel turn left, 2nd intersection turn left again, you can see the restaurant right hand side at the next corner -> app 5 minutes walk)
- Mike_auger (8/5): Stay two night or more! - We snuck into this little garden hotel for one night, before flying back to Thailand. On arrival we glanced over the menu and as it was limited, decided to go else where for dinner. The heavens opened, forcing us back to the lobby. We chose and waited in the room. It wasn't bad, but nothing too special. The room was lovely. Clean, quiet with tea and coffee. Friendly staff who were keen to practice their English and ordered us a tuk tuk to the airport. Not a location for sight seeing but somewhere to rest.
- Capobart (10/5): Excellent place to stay - We stayed here two times in february and march 2012. Both times were great. Room prices are a tiny bit higher than else, but breakfast is included (a rich choice of eggs and all the rest you want). Also they do your laundry for free.
Staff is polite, nice and helpful. Rooms are cleaned properly.
A good choice when you don't want to sleep in the crazy sounds of Riverside.
- kimly13 (10/5): Highly recommended - I stay for a week in Jan 2012 at this guest house. The price of $25 per night includes breakfast and laundry. The stay was great. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was decent ! The room was quite big. I was impressed actually. If you don't like this hotel, you could always go around but i don't think you will be disappointed.
