Guest Reviews
- Rowel (8/5): - Location
- Mustafa (2/5): Full frustration , not even in the standards of a 1 Star hotel. Non hygenic, non comfortable - We were told breakfast is between 07:00-09:30 am. As we were in the breakfast at 08:00 am, we were told breakfast will not be served as it was untill 07:30 am. We were told groups had breakfast at 07:00am. But we are indiviual travllers. Finally they agreed on servig breakfast.
One plate of sweet cakes- one plate of greasy omlette and and one plate with sliced bread and butter... that was it... When i took the slice of bread, it was all in blue mould... sure it was many days old. When i warned the waiter about it, no words of apoligy. and he brought a new plate with newly sliced bread. It was horrible experience. Later during the cheeck out, i have mentioned about our frustration among other things. Receptionist with such a cool face; "next door is a bakery, go and eat fromm our house"... Increadible... Bakery next door has bread and sweets nothing else and no word of sympathy... Blankets on the bed are shorter than standard. I had to sleep with my socks on as my feet were way out. I am not giant 188cm. tall. Matrasses are not comfortable.
- Sophia (4/5): Disappointing - Very dark room, old furniture and bathroom, no parking lot
- Ronald (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dona (8/5): Very good - Loved the room very spacious and clean They didn't clean room
- Myburgh (6/5): Pleasant - location not clean
- Barak (10/5): Good place in Nazareth - Wonderful hospitality. The team were great. The room was comfortable and the location was very good
- Margarita (3/5): Poor - The breakfast was extremely poor. Coffee was almost worst I've ever tried. Not rekomend to no one. Everything to improve.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Anatoli (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Lars (10/5): A place to stay when in Nazareth! - Wonderful personel! Great room!
- Hiroyuki (8/5): - Location
- hila (8/5): Good location near the old city - Good location to visit Nazareth old city. There is a complimentary parking just under the building. The rooms are basic, but clean and efficient.
Breakfast is good , besides the coffee and few of the vegetables.
The hotel's employees are very kind and helpful.
Price are very reasonable.
Overall good value for money
- vavi (6/5): - It eas nice
not more not less
- sergey (8/5): לילה בנצרת - מיקום נהדר,בית מלון עם חדרים מורבחים
ממליצה לכולם לינה בשקט
- Mario (4/5): - We did rent a room at Golden crown old city, downtown, but the hotel change our reservation to another Golden crown outside of the old city. Their reason, hotel was overbooked.
- LandyManKent (4/5): Dismal food - Stayed at this hotel for four nights during a Holy Land tour. The room was fairly good and spacious and the bed comfortable, hence the 2 stars. The food however is dire. Dinner on the first night consisted of dry chicken, dubious meat in gravy, potatoes and what seemed to be tinned baby carrots. That was it. No other choices. Can’t comment on dinner for the other three nights as we ate at a nearby restaurant, but other travellers told us that it was the same offering every night.
As for breakfast, don’t bother. No local bread, just mass produced sliced loaves out of plastic bags. Solid “scrambled egg”, yesterday’s croissants re-heated and solid as rocks. Everywhere we went in Israel we saw beautiful fruit for sale in shops and markets. Not in this hotel! Tinned fruit every morning.
One evening as we returned from dinner my wife slipped and fell on the wet floor in the lobby. The guy behind the desk didn’t even bother to look up from his phone, let alone come to her assistance. That just about sums up the attitude of the staff here.
- Kath150 (2/5): Disappointed - We arrived in Nazareth for the rest of our group visit from Jerusalem where we had stayed in The Golden Walls Hotel.
.What a massive difference and what a disappointment. The rooms are nothing like the website pictures they are in need of a total overall as does the bathroom no towel rails just piled up by the side of the sink. You walk in from the street into a small reception and have to take lifts to your rooms. There is no large lounge where we could sit at night after visiting sites all together , there are few seats on each floor if you wish to sit but the bar is on the sixth floor in the dining room, the dining room is large but very impersonal . Both breakfast and dinner are buffet with very little choice, some of a bowls for cereal and fruit are chipped, fruit is tinned with a bowl of golden delicious apples, in a country where fresh fruit is in abundance it was disgusting it was not on offer, I went out and bought a bag of fruit. The staff what few were there were very friendly and helpful but you nearly always had to remove you dirty plates away. I will definitely not be returning. I have tapped one circle to rate but did not want to do that but would not let me leave it empty.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location & breakfast - The location is great, very closed to the market and to the main restaurants. The lobby and the rooms are simple, no refrigerator in the room. Very kind service and very nice breakfast.
- Joanne (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at Golden Crown, it was walking distance to most popular sites in Nazareth and you can’t beat that price! The staff was extremely friendly and made my stay more enjoyable.
- kghfds (2/5): Don't go there! - we booked a room for 2 adults and one child. two days before our arrival we double checked our reservation regarding the child extra bed, and was confirmed that everything is ok. When we arrived to the hotel, we were told that we didn’t booked a room for 2 adults and a child and there are no available rooms in the hotel. The hotel manager was hiding and didn’t come to try and solve the problem with us. Eventually, after 1.5 hours, they gave as a room for two and pushed inside an extra bed. The room was very crowded and was not suitable for 3 persons.
At the time of check out the hotel cancelled the room key suddenly without notify for all the hotel guests, and forced us to leave the room very early, before noon.
The rooms are very small and old, at the halls between the rooms people are sitting, eating, drinking alcohol and smoking. This is very unpleasant and loud.
Would not come back to this hotel and won’t recommend anyone to go there. Better spent your money elsewhere.
- Maor (4/5):
- VerdiA (10/5): Convenient hotel - We stayed at this hotel in Nazareth which was convenient for touring religious sites nearby. The rooms were spacious, had plenty of towels, toiletries, mini bar, hair dryer and cable of US and European networks. Breakfast were generous and varied for all appetites. Dinner was buffet style with plenty meat options, vegetarian options, fruits etc. Breakfast opened early so we could take our tour in plenty of time. Dinner was scheduled according to the number of persons on tours, a bit disorganized at times but plenty of food as your appetite bug desired. Hotel staff were friendly, spoke English and other languages. Wi-fi available as well as laundry, business service.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Moderate stay - don’t book breakfast - Very friendly and helpful staff and underground parking included at the hotel. Unfortunately price/quality ratio not ok; rooms are outdated, bathroom smelled a bit mouldy, housekeeping entered room before 8am while we were still in bed, ... Recommend to book without breakfast, as the offer was limited and ingredients were not as fresh as you would expect (s.a. dried out vegetables from the breakfast at least a day before).
- Jouleah (10/5): Breathtaking View - The property is on top of a mountain facing the Sea of Galilee so make sure that you book a room facing that area. The room is big so it was more than comfortable for two people to stay. Shower and food is great as well as provisions. The bed and pillows are super comfy. It was such a wonderful stay.
- ADONI12 (8/5): Golden crown - Very good hotel rooms are good the restaurant is great food wise and service the staff are very helpful the only thing is they don't have a lobby they have few sofas in each floor it is enough but you can't meet a guest
- Mary (8/5): - Really friendly and helpful staff. Location is central but I just wouldn't recommend staying in Nazareth.
- RebeccahShiloh (6/5): A convenient location for visiting Nazareth - We arrived for one night, on an extremely busy evening for the hotel. Rooms were comfortable and adequate, although my own was a little dated. The room and the hotel generally were clean and tidy, with sufficient facilities for a comfortable stay. This hotel is clearly used by tour companies catering for very large groups, so be prepared to wait in a number of queues!
Do resto a localização e a infraestrutura atenderam.
- qubanqtee (4/5): Golden is a stretch - once again really disappointed in the quality or standards of the hotel. Room Housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired and I'll leave it at that. The food was the same as all the buffets, the same food selection. Wait staff is not happy to be there.
- Climber230732 (8/5): good hotel in the center of Nazareth - Located in the center of Nazareth, one step away from Annunciation and in a comercial street. You can take long walks around. Large and spacious rooms.Very good food.It has garage service. It is a highly recommended hotel.
- razvanc748 (8/5): Nice hotel! - Decent hotel, very nice staff, quiet rooms. Beds are comfortable and tou have a small refrigerator in the room. Nice view over the city if you stay at 6 floor. They have a good restaurant at 6 floor with traditional local food and international food. The hotel have elevators so it’s accesible for everybody. You have a big public parking area in front of the hitel.
- lordboots (2/5): Nothing like cockroaches and stained beds - Absolutely disgusting. Roaches on the walls and piss soaked beds makes this a slum hotel. It reminds me of Brooklyn . I would avoid it if I could. It’s a shame as it could be a good 3 star hotel worth $100 a night but I think the Motel 6 has it beat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Staff is nice and helpful. Very clean.
- markvR5628TC (6/5): Okay Hotel, a bit Pricey - This hotel is okay. It’s located in the city centre of Nazareth, which was perfect for walking everywhere. The rooms were okay, but a little “beat up.” I must say that the breakfast staff (especially the head server) was wonderful. However, I think the price was a bit much for the hotel room itself. If the price was a bit lower, I would likely recommend this hotel.

- 82warda (2/5): No visitors allowed!! - I stayed here for couple of days.. i invited my friend to visit me.
My friend called me telling me they didn't let him enter because no visitors allowed.
What kind of hotel do this and what kind of city is this!!
I told the young boy of the reception and he was very rude.. i left the next day.
Thinking maybe I'm gonna sue the hotel too.
- sigg1404 (10/5): Amazing Hotel good for pilgrimages - We arrived with our group to this hotel. My family took 2 rooms. We were given one in the 7th floor and the other on in the 4th floor. I do not know how the receptionist asked us if we were a family and we replied in the affirmative. She changed my room and finished neighbours to my family. The rest was plain sailing. We were there breakfast and dinner. The food was exquisite. Everyday something new. One of my family members had some allergies and they cooked something for her. The staff was very friendly and tried their best so that our stay there will be an unforgettable experience. The rooms were tidy and very safe. Well done.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - nice hotel, close to city, clean, good staff members
- LeHungryPlanet (8/5): Great Stay in Nazareth with Friendly Staff - The golden crown old city was home to me for two days while I roamed around Nazareth as well as a launching pad to see the Sea of Galilee and Golan Heights as well as explore Banias National Reserve and Waterfalls. Nazareth is a great hub to tour northern Israel so I highly recommend it...much less the Golden Crown. Old City.
I was blown away by the amazing hospitality and service of the kitchen staff as well the front desk. They welcomed me and treated me with a fruit platter upon arrival to my room. One morning, I had to take off on a tour early and the hotel staff literally went out of their way to pack me a warm breakfast so that I wouldn’t be hungry on the journey up to Galilee. It was sweet and very homelike.
It felt more like a small family operated hotel even though in size, it’s a mid sized operation with some chain hotel like qualities. My room was on the third floor and gave me a good view to the city.
The rooms are a bit dated as is the rest of the hotel but everything functioned very well so it’s a non issue.
My only concern was that sometimes I asked various staff members for bus schedules for my next destination to Haifa or restaurant recommendations and they didn’t know much. They’d do the research upon me asking but didn’t know off the bat. This was ok but sometimes it took them a long time to get back to me about questions I had.
The other thing to note is that the lobby area does not have WiFi. The rest of the hotel does so why the lobby doesn’t is beyond me but this is a very minute detail and may not matter to many. Sometimes when I tried to map things out on WiFi before leaving the hotel is when it got to be inconvenient but other than that, it wasn’t a big deal. I would definitely recommend the Golden Crown in Old City!
Also note that it’s so close to two of my favorite restaurants in Nazareth: Abu Ashraf Hummus and Tishreen for Arabic food.
You must try these two gems around the hotel!
It’s also super close to the white mosque and the church. Great job Old Crown! Keep up the hospitality in welcoming travelers to Nazareth!
- ramalc2017 (8/5): Good Pilgrimage Hotel - Stayed at this hotel for two nights. Its a good location specially if you are on a pilgrimage to Nazareth, Capernaum and Galilee. It was not a luxury hotel but it was economical and had all the basic necessities. There is wide selection for breakfast.
- GILLES (8/5): - Bien situé, proche des lieus qui sont à voir sur la ville.
Parking en sous-sol (payant)
- shippinofftoboston (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Nazareth - This hotel is in a terrific location, walking distance to the Annunciation Church and the old city. Breakfast was quite ample, though it would have been nice to have fresh fruit. The rooms were nice, but the double bed did not really accommodate a couple, since there was a crack between the two twin mattresses. All in all, a nice place to stay with very courteous and helpful staff.
- TudelaMartins (6/5): God base to explore Israel - The hotel is reasonable, but there are some aspects that could be better.
The windows do not close 100% so you might here the noise from the street.
There is no stairs from the 4th floor downwards so some times to get to the street level you have to wait for a while.
- Verified traveler (6/5): no rooms available - Apparently due to a plumbing problem, there were no rooms available in the Old City hotel the night I made my reservation--without attempting to contact me by phone or email the management simply placed me in the Golden Crown Nazareth on Mount Precipice. The Mount Precipice hotel itself is great--very luxurious, very comfortable, great service, great facilities--but the location is not and I had no desire to drive in/out of town in Nazareth traffic in order to see the sights. The hotel did their best to make it right by paying for cab transportation in/out of town for me, but ultimately the whole situation was more of a hassle than I would have liked, and I would have preferred that they at least try to contact me in advance. Anybody who booked and actually wanted to stay at the Mount Precipice hotel I think would have a very good experience.
- frankwyman (2/5): Better to sleep the night in the car - Downsides: Very dark, moldy, cold, requests for anything took forever, service poor. Thin towels. Beds average. I haven't stayed in such a poorly maintained motel in a long time. One elevator means lots of waiting.
Upsides: OK meal selections for breakfast and dinner. Great window views because lots of window in our corner room.
- María del carmen (8/5): - Muy bien situado, el entorno con toda clase de servicios, la habitación y la recepción del hotel podría mejorarse.
- romants (8/5): Good middle budget hotel in the centre of Nazareth - This hotel's main advantage is that it is close to the city centre and to all the main attractions. One doesn't need a bus to go to all the Christian attractions. The staff was very friendly, they even offered us to take us by a taxy to the other Golden Crown hotel and take a supper dinner there because it wasn't available at this hotel. On the downside breakfast was very small compared to what is usually served at other Israeli hotels. The Christmas festivities were rather disappointing, compared to European cities.
- Enele (8/5): - Beautiful and Serene Sirrounfing. Praceful..with a touch of modern..i loved this hotel..i rate it 8 and half.
- Verified traveler (8/5): busy and noisy - Noisy
- Sandra (6/5): Not worth a 4.2 rating. - Breakfast buffet worst we have experienced so far in Israel....ordinary sliced bread, canned fruit, veggies not fresh, undrinkable coffee from a huge metal pot. Best thing is the location.
- Marcelo (8/5): Muy aconsejable - Estuvo perfecto.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Disappointing - The Golden Crown Nazareth hotel has two locations. I happened to stay in the one situated in the old city and located at 15 HaGalil Street.
The location of the hotel is very good. It's located nearby restaurants, pharmacy and shops which makes the stay in that area very convenient. The hotel is in proximity to the main attractions that the city has to offer, including the basilica of the annunciation, church of St. Joseph and many more. The adjacent parking lot is offered for free to the hotel's residents.
The Hotel's staff is very kind, welcoming and helpful.
Despite the fact that the hotel is relatively new, the room offered poor furnitures and 2 separate single beds, even though I reserved a room for a couple. The large curtain hung from above mostly covered a wall and at its end a small window was revealed. The window was overlooking some houses located in the backyard of the hotel. The TV screen showed about 6 channels and the remote control was malfunctioning. The shower head sprayed water in some unwanted directions and the heat of the water was very hard to control and balance.
Must say that I didn't mind much the room, knowing that my stay is short, but I was counting on the breakfast to be authentic and delicious. The dining room was messy and dirty. The floor was sticky and noisy when trying to step forward... the food's variety was much less than we got used to in Israeli hotels that serve 'continental' breakfasts. The food itself was mediocre at most.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room ok, horrible restaurant. Please book it without any lunch if possible!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Bom custo beneficio. - Hotel bom. Café da manha com boa variedade. Boa localização. Tem um ótimo estacionamento gratuito.
- samer (10/5): a great hotel - the location of the hotel is excellent.the staff was great especially the GM and in the
dining room nassim and caroline.the room was very clean .
but they need to put more channles on the TV.
Aircondition all over the place.breakfast was great all fresh food.
thank you it was great
- ML (10/5): Very Nice Clean Hotel in Center of Nazareth - Nice and clean room. simple check in, centrally located, parking included.
- yaffa (8/5): - מלון נוח ונעים , שירות אדיב ביותר מיקום מצויין
- ANTHONY (6/5): Don't bother. - Room not particularly clean. Shower backed up and there was a pervasive sewer smell in the bathroom. Breakfast mediocre. Wifi hit or miss(mostly miss).
Parking convenient underground and free.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The best hotel centrally located - One block from Mary's well. Located downtown where there is plenty of restaurants .clean and staff is very helpful . restaurant is nice. Quiet hotel. The only noise is the mosque speaker close by. Not many amenities but everything u need or want to see is walking distance.
- c. herrera (8/5): Great stay for one night - Stayed at the Golden Crown for one night on our road trip. The hotel was better priced than others in the city. Our room was a bit small, but it had everything you need for one night. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the major churches (Mary's well, the church of the Annunciation). There are lots of eating choces in the neighbourhood offering good food and nice patios. The parking was included but note that it is shared by the mall that is attached and there is no direct entry to the hotel form parking. Our check in staff (a lovely young lady) was absolutely amazing. She gave us lots of advice and tips regarding our location / eating places / etc.
- Jim (10/5): I will be back. - Pleasant staff very helpful. Great location, great breakfast.
Nazareth village park tour is the best presented tour that I have taken. I am 76 years old and have traveled since I was 12 .
- Khalil (10/5): Great Location...close to all... - Ideal for visiting Nazareth...would stay there again..
- David (10/5): Thumbs Up! - Very clean room. People helpful, friendly and eager to please. Breakfast was excellent. Only problem was the hotel sign was difficult to see when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again though. Highly recommend eating at the Canary Restaurant a few blocks away by Mary's Well.
- kobi (10/5): good place - Everything was fine the place close to the old city
- Rachel (10/5): Clean, Comfortable and Reasonable - The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Nazareth, close to restaurants and points of interest. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was okay -- nothing to write home about -- but also a great value. Highly recommended, especially for travelers looking for nice accommodations on a budget.
- Brian (8/5): Honest Review - I was extremely dissatisfied with the reception I received from the young woman who was working the desk. The doors were locked which told me it is not safe. However the two men working at night were very friendly and made up for the young woman's rudeness. The neighborhood is a dump, well the entire town is a dump and very dirty. My recommendation is to skip Sleeping in Nazareth and head to Tiberias or Haifa.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - the hotel is not in the old city as advertised, but a short walk (10min) from itbut the neighborhood is a bit unpleasant to walk
- Jonathan (10/5): Superb hotel and Staff - Really enjoyed it - great service and staff. Highly recommended ...
- Mireya (4/5): This hotel caters mainly to large package tour gro - The hotel is hard to find, is a little out of the way from the City center but it offers an amazing view, nothing more! The free internet was great but the Buffet Breakfast was a huge dissappointment. We tried it one time and decided to skip it the rest of our stay eventhough it was included in the price. Staff was very annoying when calling your room more than once to tell you that breakfast is almost over. We had a Do Not disturbed sign on our door but the maid would still come in my kids (separate room) and freak them out. Lobby is very very impersonal and staff keeps locking the front doors during business hours, go figure! My husband and I asked for a double bed and hotel only have twin beds, so we ended up sleeping on separate beds during our stay. If you are English speaker, forget having a choice of channels to watch on TV, besides boring BBC news there is nothing else in English or American for this matter. Front desk staff was helpful and nice but considering everything else about this hotel, I would NOT stay here again!
- Ethan (10/5): Walking distance to downtown - We appreciated the location of this hotel, as we could walk 5-10 minutes to the town square (Mary's Well area) and eat at the restaurants and cafes there.
- Michael B (10/5): - Excellent hotel for a short stay in Nazareth. Clean comforable rooms. Nice breakfest spread in a modern clean dining room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well situated hotel - beautiful room - A very nice hotel room with a beautiful, beautiful view. Beautiful, clean and very welcoming room : we loved our stay at this charming and discrete hotel. Hotel staff will help you with any assistance you need. Breakfast in the following morning was not good however (we looked forward to eating the croissants, but they were hard as brick - staff did not replace them as the last clients walked in for their breaky). Elsewhere, the lighting in the room at night can be too low. The hotel is very well situated, close to historical sites and churches that find themselves at a walking distance from the hotel.
- Barbara (10/5): On the Edge of the Old City - Breakfast offered plenty of options. Free Parking was a plus. Overall, we had a great stay, except on the last day of our trip, we were shorted on towels, and it did not appear that our cups were cleaned. I didn't realize the towel issue until I was ready to shower. And the dirty cup became obvious when we went to use them. But that was just the final day. The rest of the stay was great. Make certain to get a room with an Old City View. The traffic can be very bad at certain parts of the day in this area.
- Carlo (8/5): - Very convenient to local attractions. Very expensive for a place like Nazareth. But then everything in the holy land is inexplicably very expensive! The hotel is neat and modern. Breakfast was basic middle eastern stuff but surprisingly no fresh fruits. When we asked for some, they brought us a couple of small bananas, pears, and apples. Nice touch. When in town, this is definitely the place to be!
