Very nice for one night, you'll feel pampered. They have very good English speakers on staff. They could accommodate a pescetarian diet. We could only manage booking from Booking.com, and it doesn't seem like the resort is as well-integrated with this service. You'll probably want to e-mail them about the shuttle. We had a misunderstanding and couldn't get the shuttle time we wanted, but they fixed this by letting us take a taxi and they came out and paid for it (this was very nice)

- Taillie (10/5): Book it! - Do yourself a favor and book your stay here! Ryokans are my favorite Japanese tradition and this one did not disappoint. The service is incredible. Every member of the staff was so kind and attentive. As someone with tattoos I loved that they have a private onsen, very serene. And we got a room with an outdoor bath which was special. Love all the complimentary snacks and drinks, especially the ice cream and popsicles! The kaiseki dinner was very creative, seemed less traditional but still celebrated the autumnal season. They have a shuttle for pick up and drop off from the JR station making it convenient from Kyoto. Even though Kameoka isn’t that far from city of Kyoto the resort felt very private and peaceful, a great way to unwind and relax. It was perfect, no complaints

- Lisa (10/5): Beste Entscheidung zur Entspannung zwischen der Reise hier zu übernachten. - Es war ein einmaliges Erlebnis hier zu übernachten. Die Freundlichkeit des Personals und der Siervice sind nicht zu toppen. Man fühlt sich ab der ersten Sekunde rundum wohl und versorgt - es wird sich um alles gekümmert. Die Zimmer und das heiße Freilufbad auf dem Balkon sind erstklassig. Wir haben für abends außerdem das private Onsen gebucht, was ebenfalls unfassbar schön war. Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer auf den toll angelegten Garten läd zum entspannen ein. Und das konnten wir hier definitiv. Man wird wirklich behandelt wie König und Königin, an alles ist gedacht, es gibt so viele Details die mich egal wo ich hingeschaut habe, überraschten. Super entspannt auch: es gab für die Zeit des Aufenthaltes nicht nur für jeden einen Yukata, sondern auch einen Hausanzug, Pyjama und Bademantel. Das Hauseigene Spa hab ich auch getestet und war hier nicht weniger von der Professionalität und Freundlichkeit der Masseurin überrscht. Wir hatteb leider nur eine Nacht gebucht, das nächste Mal kommen wir definitiv länger umd wirklich komplett zur Ruhe zu kommen - denn das kann man hier perfekt. Nichts - alles top.

From the check in they give you a delicious matcha and pistachio mochi. They arrange shuttle service to and from the train station. The rooms are massive and incredibly clean. I wore my white socks and the bottom was pristine. The onsen in the room was amazing, on top of the public baths which basically was empty the times we went. The reserve public bath is also a not missed experience. The chef for breakfast and dinner was amazing. You can tell there is so much thought and love into everything. One of the best experiences of my life Nothing. Can't give this place more praise

- John (10/5): - Phenomenal property. I would highly recommend booking with meal service, it’s truly a world class japanese meal you’re treated to. We booked a room with a private onsen, which was great to have after a long day of sightseeing. The room was very large, with all modern amenities and many complimentary items to eat and drink. It’s not quite a traditional Ryokan but it’s close. Tatami mats, no shoes inside, a lovely Japanese garden we could see from our veranda. We stayed here for one day in the middle of our trip and it really helped us recharge after lots of walking and touristy stuff. Would definitely stay here again. Truly a beautiful property and a great place to take a break from the usual tourist attractions while in Japan.

Kaiseki was so delicious--Chef Kobayashi was a pleasure and the waiting staff were so sweet and considerate. We didn't have enough time there. We will have to stay longer next time!

- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - Truly a special place to stay! Everything was just as advertised, if not better. The room was absolutely gorgeous with all the amenities you could hope for including coffee, snacks, drinks and luxury hair- and skincare products. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get back up. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, every course was explained in detail with instructions on how to best enjoy each dish. Since the food depends on the season so much, I would love to come back at a warmer time of year one day to see the difference. In addition to the shared onsen and the one on the balcony, you can also book a time slot for a private outdoor bath. They also have the option to book a massage, which was wonderful after traveling for two weeks and carrying a backpack the entire time. If I get the opportunity to come back, I would love to stay for two nights in order to fully enjoy everything.
- Shaunna (10/5): Incredible Stay! - My goodness, what a beautiful spot to stay. Everything was top notch, from the shuttle, to the staff, to the rooms, meals and amenities! I was a welcomed change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and area. The food prepared at dinner was almost too beautiful to eat, not to mention delicious! We had a private Onsen on our balcony and it was worth the extra money to be able to use it at our leisure. I cannot say enough about it. If given the opportunity, stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!

- Crystal (10/5): Japan highlight - Gorgeous property with lovely staff. This was the highlight of the Japanese trip for us! Quite a few locals at the place as well which is always nice. I did a lot of research to find a ryokan that had a private onsen in the room as well as a lovely ground outdoor one for private booking and this one ticked all the boxes! So lucky I found this place! Food in the private dining was also lovely. It really felt like a proper 5 star experience so it was well worth the cost. The shuttle pick up was also extremely punctual and convenient.

- Beau (10/5): A peaceful retreat with exceptional service, exquisite cuisine, and a rejuvenating private hotspring - One of the most memorable experiences from our two-week trip to Japan was our stay at a serene ryokan after five intense days exploring Tokyo. It was the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and prepare for the rest of our journey. We chose Kyo Yunohana Suisen because it offers private onsen baths and is located near Kyoto. The kaiseki cuisine was exquisite, showcasing seasonal ingredients with beautiful presentation. The overall service was outstanding—thoughtful and attentive. The lounge, in particular, stood out for its quiet, relaxing atmosphere. One minor downside was the private bath. While it was made of hinoki wood, which added a lovely aroma, the natural material had some moss buildup, which made it feel slightly less hygienic.Whole experience was amazing tho
- Lydia (10/5): - This place is where you want to go when you need to time to relax on your vacation. The shuttle bus provided from Kameoka is very convenient. Our room was very spacious and the private open air onsen was amazing. It was perfect to relax during our very busy travelling across Japan. The amenities, kaiseki and staff’s hospitality were exceptional. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and I think next time booking for 2 nights would be ideal to enjoy the full experience!

Presentation was phenomenal! Delicious. Rice was so good!!! Onsen was wonderful! We wish there was walking aroundc the property to enjoy the beautiful trees and nature.

- Castelline (10/5): Capstone of our Japan trip - Everyone was exceptionally kind. You are greeted by the staff as you arrive in the shuttle. You are given a snack in a waiting area and are then shown to your room. The room was beyond our expectations. It was spacious, had lots of little extras like drinks, snacks, massage chair, a bed or futon. We had a room with a private open-air onsen, which was lovely. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountain forest. Dinner was the best meal of my life. It was a 7 course meal. The flavors of every dish danced on my tongue. Absolutely remarkable, all of it. Breakfast was just as stunning. On top of everything tasting great, there was so much food there's no way you could leave hungry. This stay was a dream. Perfect. Nothing.
