- daoj456 (4/5): Can’t recommend. - Be warned if they try to put you in the “tower “ be ready to have a sense of humor and the ability to coordinate your movements with your spouse. I’ve stayed in smaller rooms, just not in America. The place seemed mostly clean (Though I could tell you the hair color of the previous guest.) The structures themselves are old and weary. And as another reviewer mentioned the blinds don’t cover the windows. On the plus side the staff was friendly and helpful and everything seemed to work. However, I couldn’t recommend the place unless it was half the price and the 5 star ratings, frankly seem impossible.

- gregorysG7225JJ (4/5): AVOID: Clean, Friendly, But Too Many Issues for Cost (Keep Looking), No Follow-Up to Complaints - AVOID: Clean, Friendly, But Too Many Issues for Cost (Keep Looking), No Follow-Up to Complaints REVIEW: First the good news, during our recent three-night stay at the Bodega Harbor Inn, Room #3, we found the room to be clean, and the staff friendly. That said there were multiple issues to make the rate of $212 a night clearly not worth it. The issues included: 1) A bathroom window that would not lock, 2) Toilet seat only affixed on one side, 3) No screen or any of the windows (some units have screens many do not), so no breeze of fresh air for sleeping, and no fans in the room, 4) Wall plugs that did not work, making it impossible to have a light AND an outlet for charging your phone. And, while I suspect the motion detector light in the bathroom is supposed to go on when you walk in having it do so in the middle of the night was maddening to have the bright light come on, and no way to disable it. ADDITION: I sent these comments to the owner via email, I was told the owner would be in contact (so I know I have a food email address) and I have never heard another word. As a courtesy sent one more email, waited two weeks, again never heard back. Another reason why you may wish avoid this lodging. All told the cleanliness, and nice staff did not make up for so many shortcomings and uncaring ownership. I’d suggest shopping around for local lodging that is better kept up.

- Linda (10/5): Our 58th anniversary get away in Bodega - This was an older motel that has been very nicely remodeled and updated. It has a lot of charm. that is so missing these days. It was very clean and quiet with a partial view of the Bay. There is a wonderful peaceful outside seating area with a picnic table for viewing the marina. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The is a gem of a find in this area for the price. So close to some great crab sandwiches, fresh halibut/chips, and sea food. We were able to watch humpback whales just north of town all afternoon. What a relaxing and quiet break. Plenty of parking right in front or our room. This motel is off Hwy 1, but also so quiet. We only were passing through for one night, but we will be back for a longer stay.

It’s a lovely drive - we meandered along and enjoyed a few stops on the way, but you could do it in just over an hour. The little house was exactly what we needed - full kitchen facilities, spotlessly clean, and easy to find. And a wonderful view over Bodega Bay.

- Michael (8/5): - Although it is an alder motel it has a lot of appeal. Cute and quaint, but cold inside. Heater works but not thermostat controlled so it is either on or off. Staff was very nice. Did have some tv connectivity issues. I would stay there again.
- Timi (10/5): Pleasant stay - We were there for an overnight stay to attend an event in bodega bay the next day. The staff was efficient and very friendly! Would stay there again and try to book room #16!

Big kitchen and well stocked. Dining area is perfect. Hot tub was delightful. Deck overlooks the bay, beautiful view! loved it and would stay again for sure. Great for a family or friends in the Harbor house .

- Kellee (6/5): - I love this adorable little place. We stayed for two nights. The staff was beyond friendly, helpful & attentive person, via email or the phone. These rooms are cute & quaint. It was very clean. It was quite cold when we arrived & took awhile to get the room heated up but once we did it was like taking a blanket from a nice warm dryer. The water NEVER goes cold here so the showers were good. Ok so here isthebad news....I'm pretty sure there was an animal(s) trying to make their way in or coming alive during the the night. Both nights, moreso the second than the first, my dog went nuts when there was a noise at the wall behind one of the nightstands. She was attempting to climb in underneath that & the bed to smell whatever was there. I moved the nightstand & she was right at the floorboard, where there was a small gap, all the way over to the outlet. Then she climbed under the hed to smell along the wall. When i mentioned this to the owner he said that there had been no other complaints but he had an exterminator out there regularly just to keep things good. He said one time a skunk had gotten under the building so he'd have them look in on it.
- CURTIS (10/5): - Great place to stay. Comfortable, Safe, Nice Staff. Close to all area attractions and walkable dining options. Great view of sunset over the bay from their nice gathering area (grass lawn with colorful adirondack chairs).

- Heidi (8/5): - The cabin is small but clean. There are not many amenities in the room. There is a small refrigerator and a coffee pot with coffee and tea. There was no hair dryer, microwave or iron. It is within walking distance to a grocery store and several places to eat. All in all it was a nice, inexpensive place to stay in Bodega Bay.

- douglasd175 (10/5): Bodega Bay Beauty - Our stay at the Pelican 1 cottage was both charming and relaxing! We loved our cottage that was next to the bay. We could watch the sunset from our Adirondack chairs, while sipping the local Russian River wine. We also ate at the Tides restaurant next door. It's a location with fabulous food and unique Hollywood history. It was where Alfred Hitchcock filmed The Birds in 1962. In fact, the entire bay was used in the filming. All in all, our stay was beautiful. The cottage was quaint and clean...and lovely. We will return, for sure.

What a pleasant surprise it was once we unlocked the door! Beautiful, bright and clean room, walking distance to many wonderful shops and places to eat. George at the front desk was genuine, friendly and helpful; made us feel welcome and at home. Adirondack chairs on the lawn overlooked the water in the distance. Great stay and experience. Thank you
- Leslie D (10/5): - I booked this property last minute and was kindly greeted by George - the caretaker - and a lovely room with access to the lawn area that overlooked the bay. I plan on returning! My only less than 5 stars is something that you cannot control - the rooms are non smoking, however, there were people smoking in the shared gravel area. Minor overall.

- David (10/5): Great stay - Had a great stay. Try to get room P1 or P2 for a fantastic experience. The rooms are right on the water. But each room is different. Very cozy and comfortable.
- Mary (8/5): Comfortable, relaxing and quiet stay - The stay was fine. Room clean, comfortable room with a nice deck with ocean view, quite and relaxing stay. Disappointed here was only one small microwave in the office (for all the units to share), must ask to borrow blow-dryers, and the closet had no wooden bar or handers to hang up jackets, sweaters dresses, or shirts. Although I brought a small steamer for clothing, it was pointless. Located by shops and restaurants.

- Kat0623 (6/5): OK stay for one night - This was just a quick stop on our way up the coast. Pros: Fairly clean, comfy bed and sheets, fridge in the room, cute decor. Cons: Came in on a cold rainy night, heat was not on, took about 30 minutes to warm up. Tile floor is COLD, and with the rain our feet were wet, there were no rugs inside the door or anything to clean up muddy footprints with. The blinds were not big enough to cover the windows, so we hung coats and towels on the edge to block the view from outside and bright lights from the parking lot. It was fine for a quick stop one night, but I probably would not stay there again for the price.

If you will be drinking wine, bring your glasses as there are only plastic and paper in the room. There is an outside area shared area (in the picture to the left) that has a nice view but most of all the rooms open out to gravel parking lot.

- rickerj2024 (4/5): Horrible - Don’t go off what their website says. The prices are not up to date the pictures are old. I asked the guy at the front desk to have the owner call me and I haven’t heard back so I’m writing this review. The only thing about this studio garage called Pelican 1 is the view. The updates are cheap, the bed is horrible, the sheets feel like they are Sandy, the toilet belongs in a Barbie playhouse and the outside of the building looks like it should be condemned. The water side was like a mud pit with no landscaping, just broken glass bottle caps and rocks. The Adirondack chairs were nice to sit on to watch the sunset……..that’s all. I paid 270.00 for each night. Web site says 150 to 170. Even at that price it’s a stretch. Granted I should have noticed and said something beforehand but I didn’t until we checked out. The nice guy at the front desk was hesitant to say much because you can tell he’s heard it all before and knows the issues. I’d rather stay at the Tides. It’s way nicer and not trashy.
