Guest Reviews
- samuel (10/5): - Location view out to sea
- George (10/5): - staff excellent-good comfy bed and quiet nights sleep, great breakfast freshly prepared each morning.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - No lift and shower head needs replacing
- Jody (8/5): Great hosts, ok accommodations - Our hosts were very kind and accommodating. Given the accommodations we had prior to this booking and the one we are currently in a day later, I'd say that it was a bit pricey for the tiny room that we had. So far, our other bookings in N Ireland and Donegal have been of an equal price and larger/nicer accommodations. But our hosts were lovely, as have been all so far on this holiday.
- Valerie (10/5): - Lovely breakfast very nice room we will definitely be back
- David (8/5): Lovely b&b Portrush. - Great location for Portrush. Free car park not far away. Excellent breakfast served by host who remembers everyone's order on second morning. Spotless rooms just little bit cramped. Otherwise no problems.
- LEANNE (10/5): Great wee b&b - Great value b&b with a basic but clean and comfy room, with gorgeous views! Lovely breakfast in the morning! Highly recommend
- Pauline (10/5): - Every thing was as stated, Great spot.
- John (10/5): Great b&b/hotel - Very clean hotel with great service and breakfast was lovely and cooked to order.
Front of hotel has stunning scenery
- Carol (10/5): - Very nice accommodation with spectecular sea views, a scrumptious breakfast and a great host...
- Alexis (10/5): - Absolutely delighted to have found Prospect house, esp as a solo traveller. Alva and her team were kind, warm, friendly and made me feel welcome. The house was very familiar and homely.
The room was cosy and very comfortable bed. Slept soundly. Had a kettle in my room and welcome biscuits :)
Breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh to order every day. No mean feat!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover my bin was changed & fresh towels each day as wasnt expecting that on such a short trip.
Awesome location and walkable to everything. Great beaches, bars, scenic highlights and the high street all nearby.
Would strongly recommend.
- kevin (8/5): - Great location, Nice family run B&B, rooms a little compact but were nice, nice living room next door was nice with great ocean view, Good breakfast, Portrush is a lovely town
- Johnston (10/5): Happy break - The owner was very welcoming and I enjoyed my stay. Great room excellent ensuit, marvelous breakfast. We stay again and recommend its use.
- Teresa (8/5): Proper home from home - Proper home from home. Owner let me borrow iron and hairdryer.Breakfast was super especially the poached eggs bacon and soda bread.Room comfu not huge but ok for short stay.Only downside plugs few and in awkward position for kettle and towel rail easy to come apart. Old hotel full of character and family photos.Lovely view of bay from breakfast room including dolphins!!
- Andrew (10/5): - It was a very comfortable stay in a guest house overlooking the sea, with a very congenial host.
- Deborah (10/5): - Charming small hotel on the waterfront, easy walk to marina, pubs, restaurants, and downtown shopping district. Owner is most accommodating.
- Kathryn (10/5): - Beautiful view of the sea. The host was very friendly and helpful. It was in a perfect location for walks along the sea front and haour.
- Hannah (10/5): - Great location with fantastic views. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Woukd recommend
- Linda (10/5): - Friendly welcome and very clean en suite room. Lovely sea view. Will visit again.
- Margaret (10/5): - We had a wonderfully comfortable night at Prospect House on our way to a wedding at the coast. This is an immaculate and thoughtful place to stay, and much better value for money than other local options. We particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere, the delicious breakfast and that stunning view!
- Robert (8/5): - Very pleasant stay. Landlady very pleasant and helpful.
- DAVID (10/5): - Great host
- Deirdre (8/5): - Loved property, great breakfast. Comfy bed. Room a bit on the small side. Would stay here again, but would ask for the 2nd floor, as 44+ stairs are hard work!
- ROJA (8/5): Good - Nice experience, welcoming. 3 nights I stayed. Overall good. First day I wokeup late, reached breakfast around after 9:30. So I didn't get breakfast on menu. I made with available corn flakes and museli. But it's my mistake not on time. Overall good vibes. Stunning sea view infront of house. Loved it.
- sid (8/5): - Property was clean, staff friendly and helpful, bed comfortable, plenty of parking, within walking distance of centre, angood hesrty
- Aileen (10/5): Perfect base for exploring the causeway coast - I stayed here for 2 nights when I was in the area to do a 10k run along the causeway coast. I was very kindly allowed to check in later than the usual cutoff on my arrival day.
The owner was really friendly and I enjoyed chatting to her. Breakfast was delicious and I was able to do it justice on the second morning when I wasn’t running.
There is on-street parking outside and a huge free car park a stones throw away. It’s walking distance to restaurants, pubs and the all-important beach.
It was my first visit to the area and I loved it and really enjoyed my stay at Prospect House.
- Stephen (4/5): - This place needs an overhaul, decor was dated, hall stairs and landing fousty and uninspiring. Sea veiw window in my room was poor as the double glazed glass unit had blown making visibility not good. When windy the Lino floor in the bathroom was lifting up and making an awful noise, which kept me awake one night. No atmosphere of any description throughout the hotel. Some of the buildings outside and on the same road were derelict it gave the whole area including Prospect hotel a poor kerb appeal. The breakfast was good and all what you would expect.
Would not I’m afraid visit this property again.
- Mike (6/5): - Room was very small and shower barely useable. Breakfast was great! Lot of external car noise from racing kids.
- Claire (10/5): Overnight stay Portrush - Lovely overnight stay with my teenagers for a treat before school started. Check in was easy and the lady was very friendly. Our room had a King size bed, bunk beds and an ensuite shower room so plenty of room for a family.
We had a seaview room (Room 10) and the views were lovely to waken up to. The room has a TV, kettle with tea/coffee/hot chocolate and towels provided.
There is parking outside the hotel but I'd imagine it's limited during busy times.
Breakfast was great - choice of cereals/juices and then you can have a cooked breakfast of your choice.
We had a really nice stay :)
- Chris (10/5): - Need family room lower down
- Annette (10/5): - I had a brilliant stay and have planned two more ☺️ my only downfall was I booked a room with a shared toilet, as a last minute booking no other rooms available. The Host was extremely friendly and welcoming and breakfast was beautifully cooked. There was also a nice selection for a continental breakfast also. The view is stunning!
- Elaine (8/5): - It was great for a weekend, very clean, staff were lovely, breakfast was great.
Also very good location.
- Noeleen (4/5): - Great seaview from our bedroom windows, not too far a walk to the white rocks beach and only up the hill from the coastal zone museum which my kids lov d exploring.
Hotel was nice but for anyone who's got poor mobility it's not ideal as there are no lifts and my elderly mum found the 3 sets of stairs challenging to use to get to our room. Tough going too if carrying heavy luggage. Was disappointed that on our 2nd and final morning we had gotten a little late downstairs what with all our items and kids and we missed breakfast by 30mins, cereal, toast, fruit or tea was offered but that wasn't what I'd paid for and also the fact that it was a quiet BnB not busy you would think a cooked breakfast wouldn't be a difficult task. We had a hard time getting a local taxi service too and after 6 numbers tried we finally got one to take us to the train station.Ideal BnB for spritely young couples or individuals eho don't mind alot of stairs and can enjoy the lovely scenic walks near by.
- Gareth (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff , amazing breakfast
- Frances (10/5): - This property has the perfect location within walking distance to the beaches and the town centre.. staff are so friendly and welcoming and breakfast was amazing
- Michael (8/5): - Lovely property and host with fantastic sea view. Double room we had was very ‘compact’ but fine for 2 night stay.
- Michael (10/5): - Very clean and tidy. Very friendly people. Breakfast very good. Beds very comfortable.
- Bradley (6/5): Crash pad - Handy if you’re just looking somewhere to crash for a night out.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good
- denis (8/5): - Good place for a break.
- Zaria (2/5): - Didnt have a great experience as place was dirty and i felt unsafe staying.didnt stay for breakfast checked out as soon as i could
- Hazel (10/5): Overall excellence - Owners very welcoming. Room with beautiful sea view. Spotless. Comfy bed.
Enjoyed the use of a lovely sitting room with sea view. Breakfast included full Irish breakfast with fruit, cereals and oatmeal, etc, including GF--all delicious.
Definitely recommend this lovely facility.
- Tom (10/5): - Very good
- Gareth (10/5): - Very welcoming. Room good snd a good breakfast. All we needed
- Taig (8/5): - Great location, very nice staff. Not a 5 star hotel, but a solid value in a cool location.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Very friendly staff..
- Jessica (10/5): - My husband and I had a great stay. Our room was extremely clean and had a beautiful view. Hotel is in a perfect location to enjoy the town. Breakfast was perfect the next morning. I would definitely stay here again!
- KENNETH (10/5): Great relaxing weekend - We had an excellent weekend lovely house and owner and staff were very friendly. The bed was comfortable the breakfast were great. The house was quiet at night therefore had two nights rest. The tv had lot of channels and a good picture. The lounge is large and very comfortable with a great sea view, nice to relax in and have a read or watch tv. It’s the best B&B we’ve stayed in for a long time and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. Your just around the corner to shops, bars, hotels etc. We will be going back in the near future.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good views - Lovely view of the coast line from our room. Small room with no space to put our suitcase. Owner was very nice and friendly. We were able to park right outside for no charge. Breakfast was nice.
- John (10/5): - Unique ? The Cushions
- Mark (10/5): - Beautiful oceanfront location convenient to shopping, dining and numerous attractions.
- wayne (10/5): - The hotel was lovely to stay at, rooms were very clean. The owner was very helpfull and accommodating. Breakfast was freshly cooked and spot on
- Alan (10/5): - Beautiful place with lots of details. The breakfast was amazing. Kind welcoming hostess. Wished we had stayed 2 nights. Lots of shops close by.
- Liz (10/5): - Lovely breakfast and host.
- Clare (10/5): - Clean and comfortable with a lovely welcome. Just what we wanted. We hope to stay again.
- Brandon (10/5): - We had an amazing time. We were in town for a wedding. Our host was incredibly accommodating. The room was really cozy, but it was all we needed. The host’s breakfast was delicious every single time and the self serve options were more than enough. The immediate area was beautiful as well. It will be very difficult to find transportation on a Sunday, so keep that in mind. Everything else was spectacular.
- Sheree (10/5): - It was a nice friendly B&B and suited my needs. Breakfast was excellent.
- Irene (6/5): - Prospect house was ok quiet close to bars & restaurants lovely sea views from rooms at the front. My only complaint was that the room & bathroom was really small
- Kylee (10/5): - Very nice staff and super flexible. Delicious breakfast
- Jane (10/5): Lovely stay great view - Lovely view, very comfy bed and host was great. Breakfast was great too!
- Judith (10/5): Great b&b - Prospect house is a wonderful b&b in a great location. The room was small but beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. The owner was very friendly and the breakfast was great.
- Elwin (10/5): - The owner was very personable and friendly which made us feel welcome. Breakfast was fantastic.
- Randy (10/5): - Great plc to stay . Beutiful view !
- John (8/5): - Staff were nice. Quiet. View of ocean. Interesting family photos.
- Wendy (8/5): Good comfy beds - Very clean and comfortable beds. Accommodating for vegan diets. Cooked breakfast lovely and hot. Great location.
- Martin (8/5): Solo trip break - Very good. Staff helpful. Room slightly small but adequate. Breakfast with perculated coffee in morning was great. Close to beach .
- Monika (10/5): - The hot chocolate and cookies in the room hit the spot!
- Diane (10/5): - Had a luvly stay, would stay at prospect house again, and will tell others
- alison (8/5): - A little guesthouse right on the sea front. Room was ok but had no proper window to see out of without climbing on the bed and craning your neck to see out. A little expensive for what it was. Breakfast time was a bit late, especially if travelling for business, an 8am start is quite late. I was surprised at the general area as it was very run down.
- JULIE-ANN (10/5): - The owner was so lovely and very welcoming and the cooked breakfast was amazing. Proper good old fashion B and B with proper breakfast and lovely atmosphere in this family run business. Located within walking distance and we had lovely sea view. Highly recommend will be our new go to place when down in portrush again.
- John Batalon (10/5): - Cool old house in a really nice location.
- Anh (8/5): - Friendly staff, family owned.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Weather wasnt great but the scenery was amazing. The Prospect Hotel was very welcoming and the breakfast was lovely
- Joanna (10/5): - Highly recommend, we will return definitely!
- PETER (2/5): Look for better quality. - Very small room . No view. More like a hostel than a hotel room . Not value for the price .
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Clean quiet breakfast very nice
- Colin (8/5): - The view from the building was spectacular. Looking out at the cliffs and the ocean
Very nice and relaxing
Staff were extremely kind and helpful. Food was delicious
- marie (10/5): - A very nice BnB situated in a large house overlooking the Skerries islands and sea. Good breakfast and pleasant landlady
- Jacqueline (10/5): - Very welcoming host. Full breakfast and beautiful view of the ocean. The only drawback- room was very small.
- MARTIN (10/5): Great sea views - Beautiful views over the bay. Plenty of parking and easy walk to town centre. Alva is a nice landlady, welcoming and accommodating.
- Cathal (10/5): The clean room - The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean
- Vlad (8/5): - The staff at the property were great, and the property had an old time charm, unfortunately Portrush wasn’t very nice, and even on a Saturday night, it was difficult to find a place to serve food past 8pm, and even drinks places were limited. We were very surprised and disappointed at that.
- Graham (10/5): - Room a little bit small otherwise everything else was brilliant
- Richard (10/5): - Fabulous location,Rooms very comfortable, excellent cooked breakfast in the morning and the owner was very easy to talk to.Would recommend Prospect Bed& Breakfast to anyone looking for accommodation to stay in when visiting Portrush/ Causeway Coast area
- Guy (10/5): - Fantastic value for a comfortable room and terrific breakfast. The owner was really friendly and helpful. The location is great for its views, ease of access and peace and quiet. A credit to Portrush.
- Eileen (10/5): - Complementary breakfast, options were very good and the cooked breakfast was so nice. B&B was very clean and tidy, would definately stay again. Very good value for money
- Samuel (10/5): Great value and very relaxing - A very relaxing place to stay. A very warm welcome on arrival and a comfortable and clean room to stay in. A great location and i was able to park outside. Breakfast was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the view from the lounge window. I will definitely return.

- Pamela (8/5): - My room was very clean and the staff were very friendly
- Dawn (10/5): - Fabulous Guest House so clean and staff vert friendly and breakfast was superb would definitely recommend and would stay again
- richard (8/5): - The location is unbeatable - the view outside our window. It's only 100m to the ocean and the intervening distance is a grassy park. 2 good restaurants w/in 2 minutes of the guesthouse.
The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was super.
We had a far less expensive room on the 4th floor - no lift. The dormer slopes inward over the bed and bathtub which restricts movement, especially access to the shower/bathtub. The photos and descriptions of the room were plain to see and we knew what we were getting so no complaint.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Very clean and fresh room. Thankyou
- SUZANNE (10/5): - Brillant stay will be back again
- Hannah (10/5): Lovely stay! - My stay at Prospect House was one of my favorite of my whole trip around Ireland and Northern Ireland. My room looked out to the ocean, and the owners were kind and helpful, and the location is wonderful. I will be back!
- Kim (10/5): Mini break - We had a great time at Prospect B&B, it was a really beautiful house, the room we stayed in was clean, cosy and comfortable, in fact we slept really well, the bed was soo comfy. Waking up to have breakfast in a beautiful dining room with a spectacular view of the sea every morning was a brilliant start to the day, there was such a variety of breakfast options from fruit, yogurt, cereal and a beautiful cooked Ulster fry.
The b&b is located very close to the beaches and town centre which was great.
The host was really lovely and very attentive to our needs, we will definitely be back, great time here.
- Kylene (8/5): - Wonderful breakfast! Cute room. Kind of weird pictures of kids all over the house but all in all, really nice stay!
- Kathleen (10/5): Def worth a stay - B&B was spotless and breakfast was delicious
- Paula (8/5): - Beautiful B&B with an amazing view, the room was small but well kept and the hostess was lovely. Very peaceful. Unfortunately for the owners the property next door is unattractive but has just sold so hopefully will be rehabbed. Doesn't affect your stay.
- Valerie (8/5): Weekend away - Lovely quiet weekend. B&B comfortable and friendly owner. Breakfast good and well presented
