Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - Beachfront! What’s not to like?
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Elaine (8/5): Nice place to stay. - The Inn is a great place to stay. Unfortunately the pool and restaurant were not open during my stay. A little noisy during the day due to construction going on at the Inn. You did accommodate us with changing rooms which was
Nice. The beach was beautiful and clean. You could offer a light breakfast for a small charge.
- donna (9/5): -
- Valerie (8/5): - I love everything about it The toilet was broken and kept running. It overflowed in the morning.
- Markellus (9/5): Comfortable and Convenient - Fantastic location. The staff was very helpful. Even though we were there offseason, and the restaurant wasn't open yet, they were kind enough to give a list of where we could eat along with some of their recommendations. There was nothing I didn't like. Will be planning another trip soon.
- Joan (7/5): Ocean view is worth the price. Facilities and amenities could use attention - Location is amazing For a very expensive rate, amenities are not equivalent
- Janice (8/5): Overall stay this time was much better. - Convenient to a show I was doing. The room this time was much nicer than the last one. Doors to the patio didn’t lock.Wish they served breakfast.
- Jorge (2/5): Pleasantly nice - I rented a room for 1 night we really enjoyed the views Beautiful beach. Too bad it was a gloomy cold day. Room was ok. Staff was very nice and easy to work with. Downside, too noisy. The walls are too thin there was a couple next door fighting all night. We actually left in the middle of the night we let staff know. Its Unfortunate.
- Journey29439486998 (4/5): Worst room ever and been her many times😂 - View is great if you get a ocean view . The room we got I have closet larger we paid full price no discount .no restaurant,no pool. And no elevators or help with bags wouldn't mind but room was tiny. The AC in the room over us made the whole room vibrate. Not even sure if this electrical set up is up to code .see pictures . So do go in April and don't believe the pictures.
- jiaot2026 (10/5): i feel my home fantastic - excellent hotel and hotel.Nimali does a good job.
- Julia (4/5): Great location, but doesn’t fully make up for the mediocre rooms and cleanliness for the money. - Beautiful location by the water I’ve been staying at PVI for many years now and with the substantial increase to the rates, it’s not acceptable to have the rooms in the condition that they are - musty, not that clean - housekeeping doesn’t even come daily unless you ask which is a bit of a scam considering there’s a daily fee for cleaning.
- Michelle (3/5): We went for a weekend getaway. I’ve been staying there on and off for years. It’s slowly declined - Location and pool Dirty musty rooms, no hot water, rude check in staff
- Margot (8/5): Lovely, peaceful stay. Especially pretty walk down to Watch Hill - amazing bird life! - Beut Beautiful site overlooking the sea, and nice room and balcony, but glad to hear that the old dirty carpet is being replaced. The staff was great. We had delicious dinners at their Hatch restaurant, and Ashley our waitress was wonderful!
- Victoria (8/5): location, location, location - The location is what made me make a reservation because we wanted to be right on the beach. We also liked the fact that we had a small balcony that faced the ocean. It was nice having a restaurant right on site to have lunch or dinner. Parking spots were always available. The inn could use some upgrading especially in the painting department (doors were peeling) and carpeting. Also, the air conditioners in the rooms are really old.
- Pulitano (9/5): Overall we loved the hotel! - The view of the ocean and sound of the waves made it truly memorable! People on either side of our room were smoking on their balconies causing smoke to come into our room!
- Yurof (1/5): I would never stay there again - Seeing the ocean Deal with the noise, and provide better sleeping enviorment
- Melissa (10/5): Very comfortable in a beautiful Little part of the world - Friendly, quiet and amazing on the ocean Nothing in particular that I can think of.
- 247margied (10/5): Last weekend getaway - I went to the Pleasant View Inn for a weekend getaway with my sister and our friends for my sister’s birthday. Susan booked three rooms side by side overlooking the ocean. The view was incredible. It was the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen. We went off property to have dinner but ended up returning to the PV because the restaurant we tried going to was already booked. I’m so glad we did because the food Chef Lenny made was out of this world. Haley was our server and Alyssa was our bartender. They were both great! I can’t wait for next summer so that we can return to our favorite place! Thank you Joe for always making our visits spectacular!
- romildag490 (10/5): Beautiful spot in the beach - I stayed at The Pleasant View inn for a week in July. I spoke to Susan on the phone who booked me in the most beautiful ocean front room with a private balcony. Upon check in I was greeted by Krista and Laura. They were both so welcoming and friendly. Dalton helped us bring our luggage to the room. We dined in the restaurant several times and all of our servers, Ashley, Hailey, and Alyssa were prompt and efficient. The food, prepared by Chef Lenny and his team was delicious every time. Upon check out, Dalton helped us again with our luggage and we were warmly escorted to our car by the general manager Joe. We will definitely be back again!
- Janice (7/5): Nothing special for the outrageous price. - The fact that it was on the water and close to the venue I was doing an event at. Rooms a bit out dated- carpet very worn- for what I paid for the room a bit disappointed. Was expecting a lot more.
- Aislinn (3/5): We left a night early and forfeited our prepaid night to stay somewhere else because the room was gross. - Nice location on the beach. Nice staff. Filthy, smelled awful, very loud, stains all over the carpet in the room.
- july191234 (10/5): Dinner at The Hatch (Pleasant View Inn) - We had dinner at the Pleasant View Inn on Saturday and had a wonderful experience. This is one of our favorite spots in Misquamicut. We have NEVER been disappointed.
Erica was our waitress. She was very attentive and personable. Alyssa was the manager (love her) and Elanah was the bartender. The Misquamicut Martini is the perfect drink. We can't wait for next spring when the restaurant reopens! Thanks for the entire team! They really make you feel at home.
- Sharon (10/5): - Had a great time it's a beautiful place
- Meigan (8/5): - Beach view and room was clean.
- Caprice (10/5): - Staff was great! Room was comfortable.balcony is super small.
- MaryBeth (8/5): - Only downside was the carpets throughout the inn need to be washed if not replaced
Otherwise we had a great stay
- Sharon (8/5): - You have to walk down a side hill of the beach to get to the water but once you’re down there, it’s fun, but no Wi-Fi connection unless you walk back up to the top. Overall fun time with the option to go up to the pool or back to the ocean all day long right on the beach and a restaurant right on the premises with a bar.
- Ed (10/5): - Great beachfront property for a relaxing long weekend. Clean facility, friendly staff, nice area with restaurant/take out options and beautiful coastline sightseeing nearby.
- Shannon (8/5): - We’ve stayed here for the past 4-5 summers. It’s a great location to that gives the option of pool or beach as you choose. Good location for fire work displays along the beach and the dining is usually decent to good at the facility. The only glitch this year was that the pool water level was filled too high which made the covers of the filters pop off. This resulted in one of our party who was distracted while helping a child with shoes stepping back and because the filter cover had popped up, she ended up having a fall and getting a painful and serious bruise to her leg muscle. The staff gave ice and checked back in later on, but the injury did end up causing pain and bother for a couple of months. We’re not the litigious type and just handled the inconvenience with our own coverage, but mentioning so others are aware to be careful of the their proximity to the pool filters. Again, that is the only hiccup in multiple years of staying here… It is a delightful location. Only other not would be that there is no elevator and that bags will need to be carried up stairs to rooms. The staff will help with this upon request but since there isn’t an elevator and the layout of the facility has many levels and need to navigate stairs… People with physical challenges may want to visit in person to assess the accessibility before booking.
- Robert (8/5): - The location is unbeatable. Absolutely stunning right alongside Misquamicut beach. The amenities seemed great too -- the pool looked nice, there was a lovely entryway area, and it appeared that there was some breakfast and coffee available. The staff were also super friendly.
The only downside was the room itself. It smelled musty and the carpet was stained. If there are better rooms to stay in I'd highly recommend this location with an ocean view. If the other rooms are like ours then I couldn't recommend it unless room cleanliness is a low priority.
- David (10/5): - Beautiful
Location right on the water. We did not know that many of the rooms Require steps on several levels and being seniors, had to carry our luggage up 4 sets of stairs and no elevator. Other then that, the place was
Lovely and the pool delightful.
- Ekaterina (10/5): - Great location
- Cynthia (10/5): - Beautiful views, friendly staff, we will definitely be back!
- proctors1990 (8/5): A nice weekend get away- pricey but nice - A little get away with granddaughter last weekend. Perfect location on the beach. The pool area was nice and clean. The restaurant staff was very friendly and nice. Very nice portions of lunch and very delicious. The room was on the small side, and the soap and hair conditioner containers were empty. Being after Labor Day, I found the price very high especially for an early check in. 25.00 per person for 2 hours. We had 3 adults and 1 child under 5. This is the price for late check out for 2 hours as well.
- Sheila (10/5): - 👍
- Emdave (10/5): An amazing seaside getaway. My husband and I have come to think of Pleasant View as our " home away from home." - My husband and I just returned from a relaxing week at Pleasant View, having looked forward all winter to returning to a place we have come to think of as our "home away from home." We were treated to gorgeous, clear sunny weather, typical September weather in Rhode Usland.
The hotel rooms are clean and very comfortable. Ours faced the ocean and had a small patio . As before, while we had a list of things to do, exploring Westerly and the rest of Rhode Island, we never left PV., savoring the last days of summer by the sea. The sound of the ocean waves is very seductive, as is gazing out at the ocean and miles of unspoiled seashore.
The staff at Pleasant View is so kind and helpful. Catherine, at the front desk greeted us on our arrival. Joe Taunton, the General Manager of PV, is a real presence, and greeted us warmly. Other people stopped to say hello to him, clearly return guests.
We had delicious meals in the restaurant, prepared by Chef Lenny, and graciously served ny Lum and others.
As summer slides into fall, it is tempting to come back soon, as even with diminishing warm weather there are plenty of gorgeous days left to enjoy the seashore. There is much to do in the area in cooler weather. We are looking forward to the opening of the new Westerly Museum of American Impressionism in October, not far from PV. Combining a visit there with more soaking in the joys of Pleasant View by the sea, presents an intriguing draw for us to consider coming back soon, even though we just left. We are already looking at our calendars to plan our return in 2026.
- Barbara (10/5): - Ocean view was amazing !! Didn’t like that there wasn’t a bath room in pool area or beach area or outside lounge area. Need more bathroom facilities not just one for such a large facility!!!!!
- Robert (6/5): - The way the rooms are portrayed in Orbitz is very misleading. The room I booked showed a balcony with a water view, yet the room that was booked through Orbitz was not a water view. The front desk blamed it on Orbitz and had nothing available for a water view. She said it happens all the time. Why would no one fix this issue?
- Laura (10/5): -
- X1458EUsophiat (10/5): Stay at the Pleasant View Inn - I had an excellent stay at the pleasant View Inn. The beach front property had a pool and restaurant. Delicious meals, clean room and a pleasant staff especially Shummon Francis and Catherine. I will definitely return next summer.
Sophia
- Kristy (10/5): - Heated outdoor pool that is nice and refreshing on cool summer nights. Walk out of your hotel room right to the beach.
- Cindy (4/5): Very disappointing. - Liked the location and the private beach. The restaurant and outdoor seating was very nice. The room was much too small for two adults. Queen room with only one chair for two people. Room was not large enough to sit at the table to have coffee. The room and facility's carpets were stained. The air conditioner was so loud, we had to turn it off and keep the sliding door open. Luckily it was cool enough at night to do this. We left a night early due to the uncomfortable room.
- lisa (10/5): - Just fabulous! Always our go to beach get away!
- Edan50 (8/5): September 2025 review - My husband and I have been staying at Pleasant View for over 30 years. We love it, but it does have pros and cons. I'll list them for you.
PROS.
*Location: You can't do any better. It's right on the beach. If you like to walk the beach, you can walk all the way to Watchhill along the beach.
* Heated pool. The pool was very warm this year.
* Coffee and tea are available in the lobby.
* The beach is beautiful, but at high tide, the waves come all the way to the rocks.
CONS
*Overall, it's expensive. The rooms are on the high side, and then they add a $30 resort fee for each night you stay.
* No breakfast service. They recommend a place down the road. This year, it changed to a walk-up counter, and it was not very good.
* The outside patio lights are sting lights, just hung up on poles. They block the ocean view at night because of the glair.
* I did not eat there this year because the menu selection was not appealing to me and expensive. The afternoon I did want to get something, the restaurant was closed.
I do love staying at Pleasant View and have done so for many years. I would recommend it to a friend.
- Anibal (6/5): - Great walking distance to everything Room could use some updates. Mini fridge wasn’t working the best didn’t keep anything cold. Rugs in room where stained first thing you noticed when you walked in the room. Wasn’t the cleanest room there was coffee on the bathroom door .blinds rod was hanging on by a thread the mount was bent and outta the wall
- Lauren (10/5): - Beautiful location. Comfortable beds.
- Susan (2/5): - The hotel was very dirty! My room smelled of mildew and mold. I did not have hot water and the toilet didn't flush properly. I feel the place was very understaffed.
- DANA (8/5): - Love this place! Right on the water with a private beach. Listen to the waves roar at night🤓
- Dawn (8/5): - OCEAN VIEW
- Susan (10/5): - Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was right on the beach and the heated pool was very nice. We had a very good meal at the restaurant and coffee and tea and a microwave were available in the lobby. The area has much to offer, the ocean, restaurants and the beautiful beach. More handicapped access would be good for those with mobility issues. We will most likely come for a return visit .
- Gibson (5/5): - The staff at their restaurant was great. Our waitress Maddy was fantastic. She made us feel comfortable and was courteous. The charge per night for such a small room was ridiculously too high. My mixed / blended family felt uncomfortable on the beach and around the hotel. Like people there have never seen a bi-rachial family before.
- Rene Javier (8/5): - Great place, very family friendly!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely spot on the beach - Lovely place right on the beach, was very quiet and our room was a good size. We enjoyed the pool as well and the new restaurant was great.
- Donna (8/5): -
- skivt2013 (10/5): Dining at the Pleasant View - We dined at the restaurant with outdoor seating. The view magnificent. Chef Lenny prepared a delicious local halibut dish , my husband had a baked seafood dish. Both meals superb, our waitress was Nicole who gave great service and suggestions. Would highly recommend the Pleasant View for a great meal.
- Russell (10/5): - I have returned to this property many years now. It is right on the ocean, and you can be on the beach, or you can choose the lovely pool. The restaurant and bar have an excellent ocean view and you can enjoy outdoor dining by the ocean. The food is very good. I’m always very happy with my stay here.
- Daina (6/5): - The pleasant view inn can be described just as the name says- a pleasant view and that is it. Great location. Overpriced stay-the room smelt damp and musty, the carpet has stains from years past and the customer service was nonexistent (aside from the parking attendant who is very nice).
- Darlene (10/5): - Room looked clean but I found a binky when I dropped something near the bed. Rug had quite a few stains very old. Ocean view room comfortable but not enough chaise lounge chairs people left towels on them overnight so they could save them.Glad we had a balcony otherwise no outside seating. Didn’t like that, trash outside not picked up first thing in the am so when you go outside early trash from the night before still there didn’t see any barrels outside. Overall the view made up for it!
- Robert (10/5): - Right the beach!!!
- David (4/5): - Did not give requested ocean view
Would not fix issue
- JO-ANN (8/5): - I liked the heated pool.
- Patricia (8/5): -
- Antonella (8/5): - Pleasant surprise! Great location and view was amazing. Room is tiny but clean, updated &
comfy bed. Pool is meh, don’t go for that… basically in the parking lot with a chain link fence. It’s very small & of course tons of kids - so perfect if that’s why’s you want.
Very overpriced but paying for location.
Restaurant was decent too, only had dinner.
I do think for 400- $500 / night in the summer they can upgrade their cheap plastic lawn chairs to nicer more comfortable ones and even the table & chairs at the restaurant are cheap plastic. It would make a ton of difference. Maybe some more flowers around the property and water the lawn a bit so it’s not dead looking at those prices. People want to look at pretty things.
- Anthony (6/5): - There was no room service, had to go to front desk to get towels , room was ok , I pulled hair clip from under bed and ac remote . Bathroom tile was terrible shower door was backwards and leaked terrible. Bar staff was the highlight of the property and made my stay better
- Iain (6/5): - the staff look like they are on a work placement. the hotel itself except for the location is a dump
- susann59 (8/5): It definitely was a Pleasant View - This was my husband and my first trip to coastal RI and we wanted to stay right on the shore. We only decided on the trip about two weeks ahead. Looked at website, but decided to call since we weren't clear about where rooms were located. Person taking our call was very nice and was able to accommodate our desire for second floor with ocean view & balcony. Received email with all details spelled out. Room was fine for two people - beds comfortable and shower excellent. But carpet was stained and quite dirty and air conditioner was so high up on the wall that you had to stand on a chair to reach the controls. Had small balcony with two chairs that faced the ocean and was one of the best features. Room ended up to be over the bar so we heard music until about 10p.m. Also we had never been to a hotel/resort that didn't have coffee in room, but we were lucky we were quite close to the lobby where the coffee service was set up. We stayed for three nights and there was no offer of room service which we didn't need, but some folks would. Inn was right next to a lovely beach with lifeguard. In summary, we would stay there again, but some folks would find it too basic I think.
- Katherine (8/5): - Close to beach and shops.
- Leigh Ann (6/5): - The hilight of our stay was dinner at the restaurant. Gianna our waitress was lovely. The food was soooo good!!
I would never stay at the hotel again. But I will be telling family and friends about our dinner !
- Christine (8/5): - Just got back from a weekend stay at this oceanfront gem, and wow—talk about coastal magic. From the moment I opened the balcony doors and heard the waves crashing like nature’s own playlist, I knew I was in for something special. Hurricane Erin was doing her dramatic thing offshore, so we skipped the ocean dip and took up residence on the loungers. And yes, the entire day was spent there soaking up the sun!
This place is nestled in a sweet spot where everything you need is just a flip-flop stroll away. Morning lattes from cozy coffee shops? Check. Cocktails at buzzing bars? Double check. Cute boutiques for spontaneous retail therapy? You bet. Visit Andreas and order the lobster roll, you'll thank me later.
If you’re craving a mix of laid-back beach vibes and easy access to local flavor, this hotel hits the sweet spot. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers, or anyone who wants to soak up the salty air without sacrificing convenience.
- Shannon (10/5): - Beautiful
- Shannon (10/5): - Beautiful
- Mabel (8/5): - The restaurant wasn't open for breakfast.
No housekeeping.
The management was great and understanding.
- Donna (4/5): Smelly - Extremely small room that had terrible musty odor. Bed very uncomfortable. Bins for clothing rather than dresser. Only 2 plastic hangars provided. Ran out of pool towels and room towels. Pool was cloudy and not heated like claim. Check in person chewed gum the entire time and had us fill out questionnaire that was filled out ahead of time. Restaurant food was not to our liking. Overpriced for what was offered but did have nice view of water.
- Janice (6/5): - Room was down graded from Expedia booking. First floor is very noisy at 6 am with kids running the halls. Staff said to book the 2nd floor next time.
Excellent location! For proximity to the beach the hotel was excellent.
- Marilda (2/5): - I will never return to such a dirty and unfriendly hotel. The people that manage the hotel should learn how to smile. They should learn how to cook!
- Kathryn (7/5): -
- karen (6/5): Bugs ? - Woke up itchy bites on both arms
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Mary (10/5): Had a wonderful stay and will definitelybook again - I love that it's right on the beach and very walkable to great restaurants and entertainment. The only complaint I have is that my husband and I were placed in a room next to children who were very noisy at night and in the early mornings, and the walls are very thin.
- Michelle (6/5): - No breakfast,no room servce.Rooms were tiny carpeting outdated.Rust from air conditioners on outside walls. Not worth the $
- Ronda (8/5): - No elevator and room on 3rd floor with luggage only issue other than limited trash cans
- Laura (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay
- Patti (9/5): -
- Rosemary (8/5): - The room was fine with a nice ocean view. The staff was great, especially the young man, maybe his name was Alex...I'm not sure..
The beach was so close which is a main reason for staying there.
The restaurant was good as well.
My only complaint is that I left a dress and a tee shirt in the room.
I went right back to get them, but was told they didn't have it. That was very disappointing.
- Tina (6/5): - The door to our room would not properly shut on it's own you had to be sure to pull it closed. Places to rise off feet should be more convenient. Saving spots with towels seems ridiculous for others as some people don't even show up for their "claimed" seating.

- krystalp438 (10/5): Love an ocean view - I have enjoyed my time at Pleasant View Inn. Waking up to the ocean, the restaurant being right at the hotel is a great convenience. I want to give a thank you to Krista at the front desk. Also, Chef Lenny had some good food. Can’t wait to return.
- Margaret111962 (10/5): What a pleasant experience at Pleaant View! - Pleasant View Inn is the perfect name for the most pleasant hotel in Misquamicut. We were greeted at the front desk with the smiling faces of Krista and Sue. Both were professional, accommodating and friendly. Dinner overlooking the ocean was delicious, prepared by Chef Lenny and Lenny Jr. Ashely was an attentive waitress with the most pleasant disposition. We loved the poolside ice pops and cold drinks, a nice new addition. And I have to say, the burger and fries were the absolute best I’ve ever had. A big thank you to manager Joe for the most pleasant experience.
- J8788GOdianes (10/5): Beach Vacation! - We highly recommend this Pleasant View Hotel. The beach is amazing and location is great. So much to do in the area. Hotel staff was friendly and professional. Our room was clean and neat due to Veronica who did a great job. We were happy that the hotel had complementary coffee and tea in the front lobby, which was very good. Parking was convenient as well. We will definitely go back again.
- christinesY9974ON (10/5): Beautiful beach and views ! - Excellent staff and accommodations .
Although the king bed ocean view with balcony was very small, it was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the restaurant, yoga on the beach , pool and beach front!
- Susan (6/5): - Front desk staff was not very helpful or friendly. Hallways were dirty. Limited drinking water access for guests. Balcony furniture was too large for the space making it challenging to move around or enjoy.
- Gina (4/5): - Room was disgustingly dirty. Smelled like mildew. People smoked on the balcony and it is supposed to be prohibited. Beach small cramped and dirty. They don’t sweep it or clean it up.
Restaurant was nice and food ok.
- Joanne (8/5): - Very convenient, beach, food and d
- Jason (9/5): Nice facility, friendly staff, fantastic location. - Fantastic location, right on the beach, with clean facilities and friendly staff. $2 upcharge per drink for ice when ordering whiskey “on the rocks” at the hotel restaurant during dinners.
- Allison (2/5): - Run down room rust everywhere looks like the floor separating from wall. Tiny room and inaccurate photos on Expedia. Seemed like a 1 star
Motel
- Patty (6/5): - We had to change rooms because of the small space we were assigned..and it smelled..the change wasn’t until 2 days into our stay.. very disappointing, and no compensation
- Katherine (8/5): This was a quaint inn in a beautiful location with a great beach, outdoor seating at the restaurant, and a game room for - The location and the fact the it had a restaurant, bar, and game room. I liked there was a foot bath in the pool area.
I loved the balcony and view but nobody had cleaned the outdoor furniture. No elevator though it was stated.
I didn’t like that kids were throwing balls over the tables while people were eating outside and nobody told them to stop. Yes, the relaxed atmosphere was part of the appeal, but when I’m dodging plastic balls while trying to eat a relaxing meal was stressful. If the parents were not going to correct them, a manager should have said there is no ball-playing or running and screaming in the dining area.
I wish there was a more direct way to get to the beach from the rooms.
I wish there was a love seat instead of hard chairs.
I wish it wasn’t a hassle for my sister to visit me during to parking. There’s an entire back lot. I think you could have allowed an extra pass for those who request it. If my husband had drove we would have had two spots…
- Z6161KEamyp (10/5): Keeps getting better - This was our 4th year staying at PV and it keeps getting better every year. We book the same room every year, right near the beach access. We arrived earlier than the early check in, but Krista ensured that we were able to access the room even earlier. Krista, along with the other front desk staff (Alex and Laura), always made sure we have everything we need. Chelylsea is the best bartender and Chef Lenny, and his son, Lenny, made an amazing meal. Lastly, our room was spotless, thanks to Shummon. Another amazing stay!
