- José (9/5): J'ai passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel, c'est la 2ème fois que je viens... j'y retournerai ! - Très bon emplacement, chambre confortable et propre, personnel aimable et souriant. RAS
- Haruka (8/5): -
- Tim (8/5): -
- Volodymyr (10/5): - Great hotel.
We stayed in room 201. Large balcony with living plants. The location is super central. In the evening there is wonderful music across the river from the Hard Rock restaurant.
Right under the hotel in the evening there are a lot of booths with inexpensive and tasty street food.
The staff is beyond praise, the keys must be handed over at the reception.
An excellent driver, Sopfol, works with them.
Will take you to all interesting places. Speaks English
- Steve (9/5): Great place to stay - LOVELY HOTEL, great staff nice view, nice rooms.
- Rafa Damasceno (9/5): -

- Manjit Kumar (6/5): -
- Gordon (9/5): Would highly recommend. - Very friendly efficient staff.Lovely large room, bed and pillows perfect.Daily supply of tea and coffee and water.
Great location Nothing all good
- Tomaz (9/5): -
- yuji (10/5): -
- Ronald (9/5): great central location, friendly staff - nice central location, we rented scooters to visit the temples (highly recommended), the hotel's location made it very easy to navigate to the temple locations, and w e were also able to park our scooters directly out front of the hotel in the evenings. . Easy walking to restaurants and shops. Hotel arranged a driver that took us, first the temple Beng Mealea and then the airport. loud music venue across the river every night but they stopped by 11 or 12, very quiet after that. No towel bar or hooks in bathroom. minimal power outlets.
- Chheng (10/5): -
- Rhongrattz (10/5): Great little hotel in a great location - Great location, close to everything. The rooms are large and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful if you need anything. Loved the view across the river. Food choices close by. Liked everything.
- Alex (8/5): -
- Pedro Miguel (10/5): - Great location. Super friendly staff. Clean room.
- Maria (9/5): - Excellent service and advice re activities and when arranging transport.
- Patrick (8/5): -
- Tommy (8/5): - Fikk ikke rommet som var bestilt. Hotellet var i tre etg. og ikke heil. Bagasje måtte bæres opp
- Brickman (8/5): I would stay there again - Nice staff, no elevator, but they will move your bags for you. Right on the river with great street food in front of you. Shower. Great hot water and pressure, but water comes out all over the bathroom floor even Toweling the opening makes a mess. Hard Rock is across the canal and you will know it until 11pm. I came in late so the music didn't keep me up, but be advised. Perhaps only my room.
- Trever (10/5): - nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again - The rooms are even nicer than the photos. The cleaning is very thorough and the front of house staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in many years of travel. The hotel is in an ideal location opposite the river, 100 metres from the market and a very short walk to Pub Street. The hotel can also arrange a driver and guide for your temple tours etc. This I can highly recommend.
- Thomas (10/5): - The staff were just lovely. Nice, large, clean rooms conveniently close to everything.
- Mark (1/5): Beware!! Noise is unbearable - Nothing Across from nightclub. If you stay in river facing rooms the music from the club blares into your room until after midnight making it impossible to sleep. Had to check out and find a different place to stay and they refused a refund claiming it’s not their fault. You won’t realize the problem if you check in before 8 pm.
- The-Minh (8/5): - Very clean and well maintained hotel. Staff are nice and very polite. Note that there is no elevator & if you’re seniors and can’t climb up stairs, be aware. Located close to the night markets and pub street…so loud noise and music are omnipresent
- Trevor (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): - Clean and tidy property with spacious rooms that have a good level of decoration and comfort. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. You can also book tours from the reception which is very handy. Great location near the markets and pub street but far enough away to be quiet.
- James (10/5): Relaxing! - Having now stayed at this hotel on at least 3 occasions, I can confidently say we will be staying there again. An excellent hotel in an excellent location.
- Temosh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): - The staff is amazing the property is so cute the family is so great we had the best time
- MARIANO (10/5): - The hotel is located nearby an area of lively nightlife, the staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel facilities are excellent. Definitely, I will stay at this hotel again if I visit Siem Reap in the future.
- Benjamin (8/5): Very satisfactory. - There is no breakfast. included The only disappointment was. having a shower. There is not enough water. when I complained about it they said they were going to fix it. be after I left. As above.
- Subhabrata (5/5): Keep a low expectation. - Close to the old market, pub street, restaurants, massage places, etc. A bunch of food carts come over right across the street every evening. There is no lift - causing me serious trouble since I have a knee pain. Finding a socket to charge your phone is a challenge. The A/C are old and take a lot of time to cool the rooms (there are no fans). The display on the control unit of the a/c is on the verge of giving up - you'll need a torch to see your settings. They provide a razor thin sliver of soap for washing hands and housekeeping does not keep an eye on if that needs to be replenished. They provide two small bottles of water for daily consumption - which is grossly insufficient. Phones don't work - so you have to walk to the reception for every small thing (and then there is no lift).
- Chanmom (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Loved the staff, vibe and location. - Very nice staff and the hotel had a very nice local feel. Not like a typical sterile hotel. A very roomy and comfortable balcony. AC in room didn't work as well as I would have liked.
- Judy (10/5): A lovely hotel in the perfect location! - Everything…it was clean, in the best location possible just a few blocks from pub street and great restaurants. The room was large with a balcony, great shower, comfortable bed, good laundry service and friendly, helpful staff. They also put us in touch with Sokphal, the best tuk tuk driver ever! Thank you! A few hooks in the bathroom would be great. A better system to prevent the shower from flooding bathroom floor.
- Rabbe (8/5): Hintaansa loistava - Vastasi toiveita.
- Tcypin (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, very friendly staff
- Harold (10/5): 5th time repeat customer - 5th time staying here in 7 years of traveling to Siem Reap. Close to markets, food, pub street. Big room with private balcony. No longer have breakfast. (place two buildings down has good breakfast)
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Very central. Staff superb. We asked to move rooms due to noise from Hard Rock cafe. They did everything possible to help us. We're not particularly early sleepers but the music from the Hard Rock cafe across the river was so loud it was on another level. It goes on intermittently from around 8pm until nearly midnight. Hence we asked to move rooms.
- FABIAN (10/5): - Simple but very nice. Right in the center of everything. Very walkable. Amazing staff.
- Tomlin (10/5): Exceptional - Large clean room and a super place to stay.
- Shnitzer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shuzo (10/5): - スタッフの方がとても親切でした。
立地も良くホテルも清潔でした。
- Lindsey (8/5): - Very Central Location
Unfortunately for this Hotel
the Hard Rock Cafe moved
across the river and plays LIVE
LOUD Music until 11p
also due to river location it has
a lot of mosquitos; therefore, got
to keep AC On to hibernate them.
- Chanmom (9/5): Superb -
- Narendra (8/5): It was great location, clean, safe, with friendly staff - This was an excellent location. Walkable to Pub street and old market. We were able to walk to several locations. It was quiet. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. TV did not work and we had to call them next day to fix it. There is no elevator and our room was on the third floor. So felt it was pricey for what we paid
- a (10/5): - ホテルスタッフは皆素晴らしい。部屋はとても綺麗。ドライヤーもある。ドライバーも素晴らしい。
- Nancy (7/5): Good - I wrote a negative reply that was meant for a different hotel. Please disregard the previous review.
- Ying (9/5): A good surprise - The location is very nice. A few steps to the market and all the restaurants/spas. A Noi cafe located in 1min walk which gives a great breakfast experience(I put a photo). Stuffs are super nice. Room are honest and Clean. Some music may be heard but it did not impacted our sleep. Even with 2 young children. Will choose again if re visit siem reap. Nothing during our stay.
- Nancy (7/5): Good - The hotel was very comfortable and was very well kept. The staff was lovely and warm and friendly and very helpful
- Harry (10/5): - Well located hotel, very close to Pub Street yet fairly quiet at night. Very clean property and a nice room.
- Sulaiman (10/5): Exceptional -
- K (8/5): Great location, but loud outdoor surroundings. - Fabulous location for the centre. A convenience shop to one side and coffee shops to the other. Staff are lovely. They have a local driver who charges a fair rate, who drove us to the Angkor park for sunrise and a day tour ($25 for the latter). They do rent bikes but it's a way to cycle so he dropped us at a bike rent shop nearby the entrance to angkor wat, which was perfect. The bikes were brand new. Buy your park passes online. The staff recommended a great restaurant called Amok. The bed in the double room with river view was very comfortable. The only thing letting the hotel down is the night noise from across the river. It sounds like live music coming from Hard rock cafe. I love live music but not after 10pm when I'm trying to sleep. Fortunately I brought my earplugs. So if you sleep light bring some with you and stay here, it's worth it.
- Benjamin (7/5): Price point content bordering contentious. - The rooms had a great amount of natural light, fantastic shower head (not so great hot water), very good location and price point considering the location. I felt the owners knew that tourist would come regardless and did their best to squeeze the dollars out of travellers. Facilities were older, and semi functional for the price point. I stayed for two days just because of travel and bus timings but I wouldn't have stayed there longer if I was going to be in the city for more than two days.
- Vitali (9/5): Pleasant stay. - Good location. Noisy street upon arrival.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (9/5): Superb - Good rooms and comfortable stay. Helpful staff. Excellent location Bathrooms were recently done and the water drainage slope was wrong and water was flowing out of the shower area in a small puddle
- Regan (9/5): My stay at Shadow Angkor Residence was perfect. A very lovely family run Hotel. - The location was ideal, very close to everything and Hotel Tuk Tuk was always available with pleasant drivers who would wait for you if needed. Room was as advertised and very comfortable. No breakfast was available, but there are many Restaurants near by. The staff was very very nice... special thanks to Silen & Lisa for making my stay even more enjoyable!! :) Just a minor glitch, the TV gave a little problem working but was addressed once I reported it.
- Devon (10/5): - I can’t say enough good things about this place - the staff was so friendly and helped arrange transportation from the airport and for the touring of Angkor Wat
Amazing location exactly where you would want to stay
- Lisa (8/5): Nice place to stay in Siem Reap - Beautiful property, spacious room, great housekeeping, friendly staff. While it was nice to be close to things like the old market and pub street. The hard rock Cade was wonky about 109 meters away, cross the canal, and the music was very loud.
- yolanda (10/5): - A comfortable stay in a great location
- Norman (10/5): - Location was excellent. Staff was very pleasant & accomodating. FYI. There is no elevator but you only have to go up a couple of flights to get to the rooms.
- Peter (6/5): Pleasant -
- Thomas (8/5): - Nice hotel not far from pub street
Generally clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful
- Jose (8/5): Very good -
- Raymond (9/5): Great place to stay - Great location , Very clean , friendly staff
Will definitely stay there again Not much to fault ,
- Sovannara (8/5): Very good -
- Eric (10/5): Overall a beautiful experience! - Very spacious rooms and amazing staff No lift
- David (10/5): Definitely stay here - Amazing hotel with super friendly staff Leaving
- Adam (8/5): Primo Location. - Location. Bed. Price. All ok.
- Bernhard (9/5): Superb - Great location, clean and good sized room with all amenities you would need or expect. Also enjoyed the breakfast.
- David (9/5): Superb Location - Superb location, it was all good Just across the river from the Hard Rock Cafe so a little night noise to keep you hopping. It is in the middle of all the activity, after all.
- Susan (8/5): We enjoyed our time at this guest house - Staff were great - really helpful and friendly - especially when I had lost my credit cards. We also used their Tuk tuk driver Mr Son Pol who was really good for going around the temples.
The location was great for the night market and local restaurants The air conditioning was a bit noisy
- Kenneth (8/5): Lille, pæn og rent - Central beliggende lille men pæn og rent hotel. Utrolig sød og venlig personel. Fine værelser, tv dog ikke med bedste billedkvalitet.
- Kiyana (9/5): Great Location and Staff - The location and the staff were excellent. They were very helpful and accommodating. N/A
- Christine (8/5): Very good - So easy to get about from here. Staff were so helpful. No restaurant but cafe next door that did amazing breakfast and gave money to apopo centre It was so hot we wished we had picked a hotel with a pool
- Maria Rona (8/5): - Staff very good close to all restaurants, bars and shopping.
- Darma (4/5): Avoid big room at 4th floor. Very hot - Location 1. Room very hot, aircond did not work. We had to change our room at 1am. Bath room like sauna, no exhaust and no air circulation.
- Chris (5/5): A great location for a simple stay. River side rooms are expansive. All rooms very large. - The location is fantastic.
One towel rack in the shower, no hooks anywhere, a small closet for the three beds of the family room, one of the two soap dispensers didn't work. The sense is that management doesn't care that much.
That said, it is super clean. The location is on the river and very close to pub street ( 5 minutes walk) and a lot of coffee shops and interesting restaurants. The fridge was not plugged in. No place to hang towels or clothes. These are simple things.
The shadow residences does not have a pool. If one is visiting the temples, taking a break midday to recharge and escape the noontime heat, choosing a place with a pool is something to consider.
No breakfast, but plenty of great alternatives a few steps away.
That said, the location is great. The people are, of course, super friendly.
- Allan (10/5): Excellent stay - Great hotel! Older character property in excellent condition. The staff was amazing and I honestly wish I could have stayed longer. Great location by the market, street food and restaurants. I look forward to returning.
- Gary (9/5): Peaceful. - The staff were lovely. No lift. I have difficulty with stairs.
- Bozhilova (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, price, service! Nice staff! They organized all the taxis we needed.
- James (10/5): Fantastic break with family. - Absolutely fabulous and all you require of a hotel.
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Nice hotel, great location.Fantastic and friendly staff. As per a lot of older Asian hotels, when constructed the builders do not put enough fall in the wet areas which allows flooding of the bathroom floor.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- GAD (10/5): Amazing hotel Amazing room - This is Amazing hotel with Amazing rooms with a big balcony!!!! Amazing location!
- Daniela (8/5): Lovely and lively hotel ! - We selected this hotel for its location.. very close to everything in Siem Reap. 2 min to Pub Street and we were actually on the street food location so for each meal we just walked out of the hotel. The front desk lady was super sweet and smiling all the time. They have this lovely way to offer services you might not need but because they are so kind you happily do it. We extended the stay for one more night. Lovely little town.. so close to the quiet temple but this little place is a big party :) Food was fantastic and very affordable. Only pillows were not very comfortable.. very high and hard.
- Sudarnianto (10/5): A memorabel one and i feel like at home. - Location, friendliness of the staff, the owner and his wife, his Mama. The whole Family. No pool 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. No no, I like everything.
- Alan (10/5): A perfect place to stay in the perfect Siem Reap location - The location is amazing and lively without too much noise. Love the river view. The staff and family who run it without exception.Cleanliness was faultless and all amenities worked. Pub street and the old market are 2 minutes walk. No breakfast but you are spoiled for choice nearby. My latest of many stays and not the last Nothing. It was all great
- Pradeep (9/5): Superb -
- Zita (8/5): Very good -
- Global (8/5): Great place to stay - It's a nice place to stay, close to everything, especially pub street and old markets. The staff are amiable, and the housekeepers are lovely. There are lots of places to get food nearby.
I thoroughly recommend it to you. I had to use stairs, no lift. I was on the second floor.
It is quite dark in the stairway, often leaves lights off. But it's nothing serious, it won't affect you.
- Debbie (6/5): Location was the best thing about this property, everything else was ordinary. - Walking distance to main centre of town. Additional money requested for every minor request.
- Harriet (6/5): the temples at Angkor Wat are totally amazing. Siem Reap is a delightful town. - Ideal location on riverside where all the food stalls were. Poor maintenance. Light bulb out on balcony. bedside light did not work and plug fitting looked terrifying. Shower flooded bathroom. Bathroom needed hooks and rails.
- Mamuka (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Excellent, well-located boutique hotel. - This was our second longish stay at the Shadow. We’ll be back again for sure and as regular visitors to Siem Reap this small hotel will always be our preferred base.
Staff (particularly the room cleaning staff) were all very helpful and kept the hotel looking its best.
Room and balcony/terrace was large and bed very comfortable. Outdoor seating and table were nice.Good sized bathroom with acceptable water pressure.
Stairs could be a problem for seniors but this 72 year old managed them .However anyone with mobility issues would be challenged.
Location couldn’t be bettered facing the River and with Pub Street, the Old Market and numerous restaurants just around the corner. Despite this, hotel is remarkably quiet at night.
There’s a supermarket next door and good food options plus a large pharmacy a couple of doors away.
Don’t expect luxury accomodation, this is a small clean hotel without frills but providing everything you need. Internet was a bit patchy for first day but owner had it fixed without delay.
Apart from that very temporary problem we found nothing to dislike.
- Tonih10 (9/5): Superb - This place is in a great central location, the lively centre creates noise until about midnight but that didn't bother us). The beds were comfortable and the staff were very polite and helpful. The place was super clean and spacious. Perfect for us. Nothing comes to mind!
- Carlos (10/5): - Right in downtown. Everything is close. Staff very helpful and polite.
