Guest Reviews
- Lillefors (9/5): - It was quiet and I could see the ocean. It's close to downtown. Nice picnic area with a barbecue! It wasn't vacuumed properly and there were spider webs in corners. The freezer needs to be defrosted.
- Anna (8/5): - It was spacious, clean and simple. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our dog was welcome.
Everything good!
- Joanne (7/5): Good location clean and quiet - The kitchen was dark with no hot water kettle. The lighting and the TV
- Joanna (8/5): It was close to town, had a roomy feel to it. I was there the end of February. - It is an older Motel but the bathroom was updated and the beds comfortable. The kitchenette, even though we didn't use it, was good. It was clean, very important to me.

- Lillefors (9/5): I keep coming back to this place because it's my favourite one in Powell River. - I like that it was accessible for my handicapped father to visit me there. He lives at Willingdon Creek Village. Our host was friendly and gave him a warm welcome! A more comfortable chair for my father to sit on while we smoked outside.
- Karen (7/5): -
- brhoderic jay (10/5): -
- colleen (1/5): I missed my ferry, tried to call, but they wouldn’t accommodate - The location is good as you come into town They close at 9:30 and aren’t accommodating about making the keys available to you later than that. When I booked I didn’t realize this.
- leanne (7/5): -
- Debra (4/5): Would not stay again :( - Not much This is a very tired, rundown motel. There were spiders everywhere, the carpet felt dirty, the upholstered chairs were old and worn, the water was brown. Considering all this...it was overpriced.
- Regine (8/5): -
- Claire (7/5): -
- Robert (10/5): - A really great place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, and had eveything you needed. Nice gardens to sit in with a view of the ocean, we will stay here again for sure.

- Iuliana (3/5): -
- cristina (8/5): -
- Lois (10/5): - It was clean and quiet and had cooking facilities
- Jeremy (6/5): - Walked into the room and you can smeel the decades of smoke in the room. Rooms could use some updating, but it was good enough to sleep for a couple nights.
- Erin (8/5): - Nice having a kitchen and amenities.
- Susan (4/5): - Old and worn down
- Lisa (4/5): - The photos do not accurately depict the condition of this property. It should be condemned. There are weird electrical cords running from under the carpet and baseboards that are definitely not to code. The water is yellow, has chunks in it and smells weird. The shower goes from hot to cold every 5 seconds while showering. It smelled like an ex smoking room. The owner made a snide remark about dog owners always having to travel with 2 dogs (like that makes a difference). His dislike for dogs was very apparent. The walls had yellow stains on them. The bed was as old as the property and there was no access to the ocean. (Seaside is a bit of a stretch).
It’s gross, hot and smelly. I would not recommend it to anyone, ever.
The cleaning staff are very nice - I feel for them having to work in a place like this.
- thompson (5/5): -
- Mulhall (3/5): Wouldn’t recommend this place. - The cost. Dirty chairs. No air conditioning. One bed was hard. Step into the bathroom.
- Michael (8/5): Lovely owner. Having the kitchenette always a binus - Good basic accom for travelling Nothing
- TREVOR (6/5): - No airconditioning and it was a very hot day
- Maureen (10/5): Older motel super cute and a nice place to stay. - Property was super cute. Kitchen was well supplied. Older but very well kept.
Pet friendly
We got later ferry and owner stayed open to check us in.
Bed was comfortable It would be nice to trip down some of the shrubs to open up the view.
- Susan (9/5): - Clean and quiet. Great location.
- Margaret (10/5): - I have stayed at this property several times and will return
- Nicole (2/5): Would not stay again - Could be a cute comfortable motel if it was renovated. Towels were nice. That’s about it Our room was in desperate need of a renovation (family room). No A/C so fans run to move the air but long term residents smoke outside so the smoke is blown inside. The room was in 2 rooms that smoked outside.
- Vivian (8/5): - Slow check in, but property was quiet and convenient parking. No air conditioning, but they had fans. Clean, one bed was comfortable, the other was not.
- Alexandru (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (6/5): - Active spider webs in the bathroom. Otherwise good value and very friendly
- Leah (7/5): Clean & quiet - Very clean and quiet. Accommodating and helpful staff. Nice location with a view of the ocean. It's a bit dated. Rooms could use air conditioning, but not totally necessary.
- Shelly (8/5): Economical, clean and comfy - Lovely quiet location It was good no issues
- Gary (5/5): Most likely will not stay again. - Location The layout of the room. We slept in the living room on a double bed. There was a TV but only one seat to view it.
- Rhonda (10/5): - The motel is a little dated but that did not effect our stay at all. The room was clean and quaint. We were close to where we needed to be. It's close to shopping and food and the. There was no A/C but there were 3 fans to keep us cool. Definately would stay there again.
- Lyn (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We were comfortable enough . It served the purpose we needed .Thank you .
- John (5/5): Passable -
- Joanna (7/5): Overall it served our purpose as a place to put our heads down at the end of the day - Appliances were all new, I.e TV, fans, microwave, toaster, coffee maker.
Our rooms were cleaned everyday which was lovely, clean towels, bins emptied etc......
Comfortable beds, and kitchenware adequate, loved having a teapot, which I used everyday. Also having face flannels and some coffee and coffeemate available was a nice touch. Airing the rooms a little longer before we arrived as they did smell a bit musty even tho they were no smoking rooms!
Maybe a hairdryer and some more hangers.
Quite a few spiders and cobwebs around and a moth inside.
Our 2 queen bedded room was fine but our friends in the family room had no door to close them off from each other or from the kitchen so no privacy.
- linda (8/5): - Very clean, well maintained, updated, nice extra touches such as fans, new floor rugs, coffee packets.
- Susanne (4/5): Disappointing - Easy to find
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Mel (3/5): Will not stay here again despite convenient location due to brown tap water. - Convenient location and reasonably quiet. Brown tap water. Motel did not provide bottled water.
- Karen (7/5): Good - The location is nice and quiet and the lady checking us in was nice and we were allowed to check in early. The room could use new carpets and chairs as both are stained heavily
- Yvonne (5/5): One star motel at a three star price. -
- Jane (1/5): Glad it was over - Nothing Uncomfortable bed. Brown water.
- Barbara (8/5): - Very nice and peaceful. Plenty of room, full kitchen, so very convenient. Close to town. A bit dated, but clean and nice.
- Rick (8/5): - It was close to where we needed to be. The inside was clean. The kitchen was sufficient. The bed was good.
The bathroom needs some attention. The tiles around the toilet were loose. The screen on the bathroom window was broken. The area sidewalk by the suites, etc. needed sweeping/cleaning.
- Judy (6/5): Okay for a basic short stay motel room - Quiet and private, especially the far end unit. Fairly well equipped kitchenette. Okay for a basic motel room. Very nice owner/manager Not right on ocean as advertised ( not even a view). Roomed smelled of stale smoke. Dirty carpet. Stovetop very slow to heat up. Bed sagged in middle.
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): Very good -
- Nancy (9/5): The host was very nice and we enjoyed staying at the motel. - Great location
- Wayne (10/5): - I will be returning next time in PW.
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Graeme (7/5): Good -
- Jazo (10/5): Exceptional - The room was clean, it offered us what we needed and it was quiet. Not to mention the beautiful view of the ocean. We would stay there again.
- Rita (4/5): - Freezing at night when we slept because the baseboard heaters are terrible.
- Erin (8/5): - Clean rooms with kitchen. Good place to stay!
- Robyn (4/5): Not great & not worth the price. - The grounds were well maintained, and the property was pet friendly. Very accessible off the highway and it was close to town. The suite had a kitchenette with a full size fridge was great. The bed/bedding & kitchenette were clean, however the rest of the room left a lot to be desired. There were cobwebs & spiders throughout the suite, there was a space between the tub & sink that had not been cleaned in a very long time, and a bandaid under the bed. The wifi and tv also were not functional during my stay. I didn't want to bother the owners as I was only staying there for a few nights, and if the price had been cheaper I wouldn't be so concerned. But for what I paid, it definitely was not worth the cost.
- dubkay (8/5): Great little place - I found the location to be convenient and we had an ocean view. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The checkin was easy, arranging the room was easy and the rates were good.
The room had a kitchenette which makes it a great place to stay for a few days and save cost. I would stay here again
- Tetyana (8/5): Very good -
- Brian (6/5): Budget but facilities dated. -
- Veronica (8/5): Was neat tidy but to pricey so left 4 days early - It was comfy clean had bathtub sink toolkit in bathroom and sink and 2 mini fridges in kitchen and microwave coffee pot dishes air conditioner but almost 200 a night way to expensive used to ony be 100 won’t be able to stay again unless down in price I mean there’s not even complimentary breakfast or hot tub to make up for there price jack or weight room pool anything not even vending machine kinda gay but at least cable was there but no phone they took that away to No phone they had one last time I used to only pay 100 now it’s so expensive higher than coast hotel and the coast has a jacuzzi tub in your living room at least they have no hot tub no pool and no vending machines
- David (7/5): Good -
- Reed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lesley (8/5): - Clean and comfortable.
- Bernard (10/5): - The owner is friendly and accommodating. He easily rescheduled our stay after our plans changed. The rooms, although dated, were very clean and comfortable. Kudos to the cleaning staff! We were even able to watch some whale activity right from the front step of our room.
I would recommend the Seaside Villa for your stay in Powell River.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - I’ve stayed her a few times now
And I’ve alway had a relaxing time
Makes my time back home enjoyable
I love Powell River ♥️
- Bonnie (8/5): Very good -
- Nydia (6/5): So so - Property was nice. And the owner he is so friendly and accomodating. Water is brown color as explanined it was from deep well
- Patsy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronald (7/5): Good -
- Laurie (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (6/5): - Could do with more lighting esp. over the sink. A standup lamp would be nice too.
It’s comfortable and clean but does look rather dated.
- Peter (6/5): - The manager was nice on check-in
- Bill (8/5): - Old timey motel. Clean and convenient.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Joshua (1/5): I was uncomfortable there. - No breakfast. The location was convenient. Nice yard Water was brown and smelly. We saw spiders and cockroaches. Dishes were stuck to the shelf.
- Wayne (7/5): Good basic accommodation -
- Kristian (8/5): Very good -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kateryna (6/5): Pleasant - Great location 👌 Very very hot in a room, no proper air-conditioned, dirty by the sink, very uncomfortable beds
- David (8/5): Simple and comfortable stay - I love the kitchen and the coffee everyday. It could have been better if the unit has an AC and kitchen exhaust fan.
- Henriette (8/5): Lovely stay at a modest, well run motel with convenient kitchenettes and great view of the ocean - we loved the low key vibe, the big grassy lawn in front of the motel, and the beautiful view of the sea. The back was bordered by some woods which also helped to create a very relaxing atmosphere. The proximity to Powell River and Powell Lake was great (for swimming, nearby), and we also found the local market just down the road a great place to pick up last minute food items; it was open until 10:00 pm. We also loved the spacious, well stocked kitchen in the motel, and we found the bed very comfortable. We got what we expected with an economical / low budget motel. It had a lot of potential. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that there seemed to be daily housekeeping services by cleaners who gave the same kind of attention to detail, as in higher priced hotels, with very nicely folded fresh towels and dish cloths, as needed. But we noticed the linoleum floor was quite worn and torn in a few areas in the kitchen, and there seemed to be a shortage of electrical outlets,(for plugging in our phones), with some outlets occupied by partially hidden (behind the baseboards) extension cords that were linked to mystery appliances, ie. to the TV and the fan which were on the other side of the room. (from where the outlet was, by the bed. But maybe this was just our room. Be sure to check if the room is indeed non smoking, if required. for scent sensitivities. The owner was very accommodating in allowing us to change our room to one in the newer part of the motel, right in front of the big picnic area, across from the ocean side. And we were extremely happy with the switch and very comfortable there. We would definitely stay there again.
- Joe (7/5): Good -
- Travis (10/5): Exceptional - People that work there very friendly and professional Couldn’t walk on both sides of the bed
- Marcel (6/5): I went to Powell River to explore the town and surrounding areas. - The property is small and is located around beautiful surroundings. The water didn’t taste the good at all first. When the well was fixed on my final night, the water tasted a lot better.
- Marcel (6/5): I went to explore Powell River and the Sunshine Coast. - I liked that the property is small and gives a nice ocean view and is located behind a forest. The water didn’t taste good.
- Janet (5/5): The price was fair and you get what you pay for, however some improvements could be made. - Slight view from our room, if the shrubs and trees were trimmed it could have been better Beds were uncomfortable, carpeting was old and stained, the only upholstered chair was stained and worn, old food was left in the fridge.
- Deborah (6/5): - Very clean room. Very quiet…no a/c was not good. They had fans but some of the power outlets didn’t work. We had to kind of mcgiver the extension cord.
- Hassan (9/5): I was satisfied with my stay at seaside villa motel. - Quiet and piece full. The room was clean. Th shower is too very tight but manageable.
- Darren (7/5): Good -
- Tiro (7/5): Good place to stay if you are not too picky - Good location, manager upgrade our room with out charge, room occupied with essentials No coat hangers, fudge was so loud, we had to turn down temperature not to work it. Toilet didn’t clean well May me discolouration of age
- Dale (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for my needs, friendly quiet and clean! Could use updated mattresses.
