Rooms large and spacious and view to die for.
Gardens were beautifully maintained as well
Great breakfast too.
They helped us with local attractions and restaurants
Thank you, we had a wonderful time.

Jets all over to relax your tired and sore body after exploring all day. Collin and Jan were delightful and I highly recommend this place! We’d love to come back here

- Gloria (10/5): - Its a beautiful place to stay, we recommend it very much.
- Jenny (8/5): - Very pleasant stay with friendly hosts. Perhaps it would have been nice to have a cool room on arrival on the hottest day this year, the room had not had the air conditioner turned on, so it did take a while to cool. Blankets were provided to replace the very fluffy duvet which is too heavy for summer, perhaps a lighter summer weight duvet would be better?
Over all a very comfortable stay and highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The friendliness of the hosts and the interaction with the guests was unique
- Cornelia (10/5): - Incredible views from unit, friendly hosts and lovely property. A very enjoyable stay! Highly recommended.

Do yourself a favour and order the meal of garlic prawns, the best lamb rack ever!!!
Loads of laughter with the hosts
- Craig (10/5): Unwind in style - From the initial warm welcome, to the stunning outlook, it was 100% worth the booking. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, clean, and perfect for relaxing in at the end of a busy day sightseeing. The hospitality throughout our 3 night stay was second to none, with faultless (more than substantial) breakfasts supplied at the time of our choosing each morning. A remote and secluded feeling without being far from neighbouring restaurants etc. if required.
I would thoroughly recommend this lodge if you're looking to add a touch of luxury to your stay........If it's good enough for Peter Jackson, It's good enough for me. X
- NormanTinsley (10/5): - The setting was magnificent, the panoramic views exceptional. The property was immaculately presented with luxury touches in unexpected places. The host and hostess, Anne and Ed, could not be more pleasant and the included breakfast was particularly good. The only pity was that our stay was short and more time was needed to fully enjoy the relaxation and solace of the property.
- Andree (8/5): Luxury in Karapiro - A lovely property overlooking Lake Karapiro.
Quite a lit of traffic noise at night and could hear all the plumbing from upstairs!
Great hosts.
Excellent location for visit to Hobbiton movie set.
- Marilyn (10/5): A Memorable Stay Near Hobbiton - Eddie and Ann are great hosts! Their home is beautiful. Our accommodations were perfect. Ann's full English breakfast was the best of both worlds - old world dining and delicious home cooking. We enjoyed our hosts, the food, and some delightful conversation.
- Ken (10/5): - Wonderful!!!

- Margaretha (10/5): Gracious hosts - Such gracious hosts - thank you for a most wonderful evening. Stunning food and beautiful room with the best view over Lake Karapiro.
- Lee (10/5): Great place need to fix shower - The room was fantastic. The bathroom was very nice but unfortunately they have a problem with the mixing valve in the showers. The water would be hot then go cold for a few seconds and then get hot again. This was the same in the gentleman who was traveling with me said about his room. The hosts were fantastic and breakfast couldn’t have been better. I would go back in a minute even with the shower problem. If they fix the shower it would be a 10.
- Chris (10/5): Luxury quiet room in the country - A luxury night accommodation on the end of a busy week hiking on the North Island.
My wife and I could not fault it.
An excellent breakfast was included.
We enjoyed sitting with the owners who had many fascinating stories to tell.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely accomodation - Beautiful building in a beautiful spot.
Polite and helpful hosts.
Outstanding breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very private, spacious, comfortable and romantic room with incredible views. You can easily imagine you are in France. The bathroom and bath is just divine. The owners are so professional and friendly and the food is high quality and homely. An easy weekend escape from Auckland with much to see and do like Blue Springs, Otoroire Hot Springs, Tirau stores and Cambridge markets.
- Diana (10/5): - Truly wonderful place. Eddy and wife were very welcoming and very friendly. It's like staying in a big private home.
- Brandon (10/5): Lovely room and setting for a getaway - We only stayed one evening, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was well appointed and our host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The shower was incredible with multiple functions and great water pressure. In the morning, we were treated to a breakfast cooked to order at the dining table with a lovely view. We were the only couple staying there, so we also had the living area/lounge all to ourselves. We were also entertained by the friendly lodge cat! The lodge is very convenient to Hobbiton, so that made our morning stress-free. Lovely retreat!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent.
- Adrianne (10/5): - Beautiful lodge welcoming atmosphere clean classy and highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely place, with a fantastic view. The home made breakfast in the morning was delicious. Great location- it was very close to Hobbiton.

- ronlyn (10/5): Very peaceful with fantastic views - Quiet location with lovely appointed charming room. We had the use of a shared nicely furnished lounge area with coffee making facilities . As we were the only guest at the time it turned into a very comfortable place to read. Host where very friendly and talkative but not intrusive. Overall a very enjoyable stay in the country side.
- Elaina (10/5): Beautiful Location - Stunning setting. Our breakfast was delicious - lots of choice. Our room was spotless and cosy. The bed linen devine. Our hosts were friendly and inviting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Just a great place to stay and enjoy your Holiday travel

- Ian (10/5): Plesant stay - had to find entrance travelling from cambridge.
relaxing comfortable bed and great hospitality
- Suzanne (10/5): Couldn't believe how fortunate we were! - Needed accommodation as we were doing 'the evening glow worm kayak tour' with Lake District Adventures, and wanted a room close by to Horahora Road. Perfect, it couldn't have been better. What a wonderful evening and a great stay. Had a fabulous cooked breakfast in the morning and we left the Lodge just before noon to return to Auckland. No morning rush, and marvelous hospitality from lovely hosts, Ann and Eddie.
- Simon (10/5): Perfect stay for honeymoon - This idyllic retreat was perfect for our honeymoon. The hosts were exceptionally nice, the views were absolutely stunning. The building itself is so charming with lots of tasteful vintage charm and it was next to a farm where you could see baby sheep and cows frolic (though they didn't want to come when called). We loved seeing the rolling hills outside our door and enjoyed the tasty breakfast, coffee, and fresh fruits. The shower was a little intimidating, as it had so many different options (for surround shower) but once you got the hang of it, it allowed you to customize your perfect experience. This was definitely the highlight of our trip - and fairly close to an adorable town with amazing restaurants as well as Hobbiton!
- Joanne (10/5): Time Out. - What a lovely place to get away to. Loved the place, the old world features with the modern amenities.
We needed to recharge and we certainly did here. Lovely building, lovely, rural grounds. A lovely place to take a breather and recharge. The breakfast was lovely as well. I loved the way it was set out on the table, it was fresh and beautifully presented. Thank you to the lovely proprietors for the really nice experience. We have never stayed at a B&B before but this stay has changed our thinking for future getaways.
- Verified traveler (10/5): AMAZING BED AND BREAKFAST - THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING GREAT LOCATION AND THE MOST AMAZING VIEWS FROM EACH ROOM. THIS IS A HIDDEN GEM.
- jebohio (10/5): Fantastic, Fantastic view!!! - Absolutely spotless. Rooms were luxurious. The lodge was very comfortable and beautiful. You could see the whole valley and river. Great location if you are going to Hobbiton. the owners were lovely and breakfast was fabulous.

- Cheryl (8/5): Country B&B near Hobbiton - We had a lovely stay and home cooked breakfast -the hilltop Lodge has a surperb view. A large comfortable room with ajoining lounge room.
