• genesisr909 (2/5): Nasty rooms and awful treatment - This place is DIRTY, UNSANITARY, and DISGUSTING. The treatment here is also gross and so is their attitude. A group of hard workers spent the night here as they’re working away from home to provide for their family but after they couldn’t handle living in the filth of this hotel, they decided to leave. Mind you they didn’t even care about getting their money back as they had already paid for 7 days, but after letting the office know, the manager started yelling at them? Pushy, racist, and mean. The workers couldn’t even sleep peacefully with the roaches being everywhere, the stained bedsheets, and the overall nasty room. Then they had to deal with awful management after they decided to leave. They were treated horribly here.

Their pictures online are nothing compared to what the actual rooms look like. Nasty facility that needs to be deep cleaned and have bug exterminate those rooms very THOROUGHLY!!!!
• V6557ZGjosec (10/5): Fallon saved the day! - I have visited this location on 2 separate occasions, once on April 1st and the other back in December, and both times I was helped by Fallon at the front desk. My company books these rooms for myself & other drivers through hotels.com. Both times there were issues with the reservations & Fallon went above & beyond to help me get it sorted out. Had she not known what to do & who to call, I would of been lost! Hotels.com gave us so much trouble getting the booking straight that it was ridiculous! All of this took place at 2:30am, a time I really wouldn't of wanted to call my boss & Fallon guided me on what to say & do with perfection. All hotels need knowledgeable employees like Fallon working for them. I could really tell she enjoys her job because she knows it well & was willing to help when she could of told me to figure it out myself. My own coworkers who made the reservation would not of helped me as much as she did! Besides the excellent customer service, this hotel is nice. They redid alot of the flooring since the last time I was here & the beds are soft, so I get a good rest while I'm there.

I wanted to enjoy my self and couldn’t because of the distance I had to travel. I don’t do getto hotels and that’s were we stayed at. I felt ashamed when I got to the hotel. But overall we got a discount.

She put us on the first floor & put all our rooms together! Every request I had, she fulfilled. Best service I've ever gotten at a hotel. Highly recommend & would return a thousand times!

The room I stayed in was great and I plan on staying here again next year for the races, Fallon helped me secure a reservation at this hotel for next year, thanks for a great experience.
• Tami (2/5): - This place is cheap for a reason. The pictures you see on Expedia aren’t even close to what you will get. We checked in, took pictures of how disgusting the CITY INN not a Red Roof Inn like I booked. They said they were renovated which is far from the truth. THIS IS A HOTEL THAT RENTS BY THE WEEK TO PEOPLE. So if you like smoking outside of your door or nails in the parking lot or a dinosaur lamp -yes a kids dinosaur lamp was the only lamp in the room. Then I say go for it - they wouldn’t refund our money even though they fraudulently booked us as being in a Red Roof Inn. I read reviews and read between the lines but this hotel has nothing positive about it. Pitch a tent in a parking lot - you will be better off!
• Wendy (4/5): - We booked online with Expedia thinking we were gonna stay at the Red Roof Inn and when we got there the man at the desk stays all of our rooms are book but we have you in our sister location in back, can you drive around back I will meet you back there to show you where to go.Oh okay, this seems odd.. Now we are at a dumpy location in back that the location is spray painted City Inn on the building.. So go in that office and they have us a room all ready to go. Still unsure we go check it out. It def had some areas the cleaning lady missed on the tub where the shower curtain covered up and the bottom of the toilet area was nasty.But it was late and we still needed to eat dinner and it was just for 1 night..Didn’t sleep good. We didn’t sleep good everytime we got up to pee we look out at our car to make sure it had not been broken into! It wasn’t thank goodness!! Breakfast was included but wasn’t much to be desired.. We wouldn’t stay here again.. Specially getting ‘catfished’ to the back.
• Shanni (2/5): - We booked Red Roof inn but upon arrival she notified us that they were full & were actually booking for “the building behind them that just opened.” Told us to drive around back to the blue doors with flashing lights. The office looked like a tattoo parlor. We checked in very confused. Went to the room to find dusty, bugs on the floor, poor condition room & pulled the covers back to be surprised by dead crickets or grasshoppers I. The sheets along with dried blood. We went & told them “the room must not have been used in a long time” & they said “yeah we just opened 2 days ago it’s not been open for 4 years.” They sent house keeping down to remake the bed an hour later we were in & went to give baths to find the water was orange. We left right then with no refund.
• DARLA (8/5): - Very friendly, helpful and courteous front desk person, Property exterior and common areas in good condition. Everything in room in good working order. I like that the inn has a pretty extensive list of things available that we often forget. Lots of walkable dining and shopping options. Comfy beds, clean rooms.
• anthonydV1487FK (10/5): Fallon went above & beyond to help me - I made a reservation through a third party booking...big mistake...book directly through the hotel & save yourself the headache! I called several times and kept being told no one could help me, but then I came in & Fallon was working & she went above and beyond to help. She looked up numbers, submitted a ticket for me, & did everything she possibly could to try to get a hold of the third party booking agency. We still couldn't get anyone on the phone, but I'm hoping they will respond to the ticket. I just wanted to leave a review to let others know, if you have a problem, ask Fallon. If she can, she will help you. Every hotel needs people like her working for them. You can tell she likes her job & cares about people.

She is an asset to this hotel! Highly recommend if you are traveling on I95 and looking for a place to stay. Prices are low too. Great value.

• Gina (8/5): - It's clean and dog friendly... 2 things i needed on this trip. Breakfast is minimal. Packaged oatmeal, pancakes, toast, and coffee. No fruit or yogurt. Also had juice. Room was clean but door lock was sketchy. Security seemed to be in parking lot all night sp no issues with loud guests or safety. Parking lot was full of butts... needs a good cleaning. The woman who checked me in was very friendly. It's a perfect location for me on way to FL so ill be back.
• gabriellew423 (2/5): Don’t even stay here - If we weren’t so tired from being on the road we would have left this spot as quick as we got there. From opening the door, everything was horrible. We had to fight the door nob to open the door, and when we finally got it open, the room smelled stale. Before we put our things down my fiancée used the cleaning sprays and disinfectant to clean the room, it was very dusty, and dirty, even the ice buckets had caked on dirt and dust. It was a lil cold but the only thing that worked was the air, the heat component on the wall did not work. There were random hairs around the room that did not belong to us and when it came to the bathroom, there was dried blood/fecal matter on the door and walls. Not to mention the tub was rusted and it looked like there was black mold on the ceiling. We couldn’t sleep well and left as soon as the sun came up. I would never ever go back to this spot, it was very disgusting. We need a refund, because its the audacity for me.

And she put my family and I in a room that wasn't supposed to be occupied due to the fact it was filled with roaches and needed to be cleaned. I spoke with the head manager Chris and he apologized but would not refund my second night stay. I was very unsatisfied and I will not be staying there again.

• patpE2776QI (8/5): Traveling alone needing a convenient, safe room for 1 night - I called ahead to reserve a first floor non-smoking room. The front desk young woman was very nice and assured me I didn't need to make a reservation. Upon arrival, the same young woman was wonderful... very friendly and got me checked in quickly. The location is right off I-95. Very convenient. There is a coffee maker in the room which is a must for me. The room was remodeled... with about 5% still showing the former hotel. Nothing bad tho. The remodel is successful and is as the online pictures show. Was very surprised to see a rather large breakfast area in the lobby. I didn't think Red Roof Inns offered that. It seems they had a good selection of items just from the setup. I did not actually eat there. The young man at the desk in the morning was very polite and helpful... as was the maid. (She helped me retrieve my cat from under the bed by just coming in the room and calling for her!) The best --- the room did NOT have the stale smoke odor that many non-smoking rooms often do. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean. The least -- for those with mobility problems, just know the lobby and breakfast room is in a separate building (along with the indoor pool) just in front of the guest rooms. So it is a quick/short walk across the parking lot to the lobby front door.
• beatific2017 (10/5): Very good motel, great value - Very comfortable. This is a good, well kept, clean motel. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There are signs of regular maintenance and the covered pool was a hit with the kids. A nice breakfast was included. I will be returning on my monthly trips.

• Kristabelle71 (2/5): Do not stay at this property! - Curtains do not cover windows, no lock on the door, group of what appeared to be drug dealers hanging out in the parking lot with tethered large dogs. Random traffic coming in and going out in short intervals. Very dark and shady. Do not stay here!
• melodyj363 (4/5): At least it was clean... - Hotel needs MAJOR overhaul (or bull dozer). Old, rickety furniture. Burn holes in sofa, sheets and blanket. Great staff. TV had no volume button and remote didn’t work volume either. It was clean and the bed was comfy and it’s quiet. But we won’t be back. It’s so sad that you have to spend over $100 anymore to get a decent hotel.

• micdee2016 (8/5): Weekend Trip - Outside was worn down but enjoyed our stay. Room was comfortable and the staff was amazing. Not a 5 star hotel but we didn't stay there a lot either. Just to sleep. Parking in the back was a little tight but not an issue for us. Convenient to Darlington to go to the races. I would stay here again.
• paebok (2/5): Eclipse 2017 - This should not even be categorized a hotel. I have stayed in a lot of hotels throughout the world, including many dives and hostels. This place was on par with a bad dive hotel in the developing world....dirty sheets and towels, filthy carpets, and musty odors are to be expected. Staff tries hard but owner needs to do some significant investment into the property. Avoid staying here if you can.
• aaribali (4/5): Ok for the price I paid - $43 a night was ok for the room. Nothing fancy, dirty room, some woman hair on the bed. Dirty carpet you can't walk barefoot or else food will need a good cleaning. Pool was closed. Wifi was ok. There was suppose to be a breakfast till 9am but by the time (8am) I went there everything was finished I came back with an orange to eat. Best part was it is near all the popular restaurants including Waffle House, McDonald's, Taco Bell. Staff was super friendly.

• Geraldine (8/5): good teamwork - We had a good stay , at first we were all no there's a roach, and we were assured there were no roaches in the rooms that it was sprayed.this was during hurricane Matthew and all hotels were booked so we took a chance. we did not see anymore roaches during our 5 day stay. we did find out that the place was under new owners, from the waffle house we ate at. and that they had been remodeling the rooms. during matthew a tornado hit behind the hotel and we lost power, there ceiling was falling ,and things leaking and every employee was busting their butts to make sure everyone was taken care of and even the maintenance man was cleaning, now that's what you call a good team and good service for the circumstances
• Mad customer (2/5): Stay Away - The first room that I was given was nasty. It had a terrible odor the curtains were safety pinned together and half hanging off rod, furniture looked like it came out of trash. The second room was a little better but the fire alarm was beeping and still had really bad odor. I was then shown two more rooms before I received a clean one. The doors don't shut all the way without force, toilets leak, floor at air condition wet, still has a weird odor. Second night the room was cleaned but we were given no towels. We left didn't stay and lost our money. Then get home and CC charged twice for 2 different amounts. Trying to get refund for second charge!
• SP (2/5): Stay away!!! - I was traveling with my niece and son by car from Orlando to NY. We decided to spend the night at this hotel due to the affordable price and review. What disappointment!!! The room had no towels, the door had no safe lock and was getting jammed to open, the bathroom was dirty and had blood stains on the walls and curtains. I was disgusted with this place, but we were so tired due to the long driving that we stayed. We had to put our towels on the bed because we were afraid of something else. In the morning, at the breakfast area no napkins were available, so I had to use tissues that I had on my purse. The lady at the reception was courteous and tried to help us find some napkins. If you want to waste your money, this is the perfect place.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Double personality - This hotel has two personalities. It is obviously the oldest and probably cheapest hotel on the block and it certainly had some interesting characters staying at it. I did not have any issues, but I'm sure some people would have questions about their safety. From the outside, the hotel does not look good. The main office, pool, and breakfast area are in one building (with no a/c) and needs a good remodel and cleaning. Some parts of the rooms have gotten a make-over: new beds, new bedding, new chairs, new a/c units, and new sinks. The room was very clean and I had a great night's sleep. The hotel staff was very courteous and cheerful Breakfast was not much more than coffee/juice, cereal, fruit, and some pre-packaged baked goods--but that is standard for a motel like this. In short, the room made up for any questions I had about the motel when I first drove in and it was a good deal for the price I paid.

The hotel looks like it was abandoned. The fire marshall closed down the indoor pool. the lobby looks like it was going through renovation but they stop didn't want to finish. The rooms had a mildew smell. Housekeeping was all sitting in one room doing nothing. The ice machine was broke. They didn't not have microwave or refrigerator.Had to check out was very disappointed.

Just DON'T STAY THERE!!!! The only good thing about it was the location. It was only 15 minutes away from the race track.

It was now my responsibility to get my refund for the booking.
• caroline dietz (2/5): Close to NASCAR race - This was the worst of the worst hotel ever stayed at. No hot water. One towel. No coffee. No breakfast. Ice machine broke. carpet was coming loose. The front door was ped locked in the morning. The whole motel was so run down it looked like it should be shut down. The bed was sleepable I did get an extra pillow upon request.

• Terri (2/5): The worse hotel ever - This place should be condemned. Rug filthy phonebook had gum stuck to it. roaches.no microwave no coffee pot. the bed was about two feet from the floor. no ice. The outside was trashy. Dogs everywhere not on leashes. Kids riding bikes in parking lot. The staff lives there with there kids. And not supervised. We booked for two nights to go to the darlington nascar races. After Saturday race we drove back to Charleston didn't stay second night. try to get coffee from lobby at 6 am nobody there it was locked. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN .
• Michael (2/5): POOR!!!!!!! - This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in many!!!!!
• karen (2/5): hotel review - We never stayed they overbooked the hotel cause it was race weekend and there was maintenance problems they did verify it with hotel.com and we did get a credit on our card.
• Steve T (2/5): What an unbelievable hole - Would sleep in car - This place is not safe to stay at. For the homeless folks that populate the back building it's better than the streets but anyone normal this place is is the bottom of the barrel. There is no service, maintenance of the building and rooms does not exist. I don't understand how the health department could allow this place to stay open. Trust me - you will regrete it, I do.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Pitching a Tent Would Have Been Better - No trash can No AC No Frige as indicated No Mico as indicated Coffee pot with no coffee or cups No breakfast as advertised Door was damaged and warped Door key card would only work once, then you had to replace it Dogs barking all night long Doors slamming all during the night with loud talking and arguing Beds were lumpy No hot water Non existing pillows Miss matched sheets If you are along I95 and can't have a comfortable bed, hot shower, or cup of coffee then SHUT THE PLACE DOWN! No phone One towel for 3 people
• Frances (2/5): Needs major improvements. - Walk in room look clean even though stains through the carpet. Curtains not hung properly check the bed linen only to find stains on sheet. No towels or toiletry. A rusted razer blade in the toilet. I was on my way to work so I went to front desk told them take care of the issue I wouldn't be back until 10 pm I had check in around 5:30 I had not taken in any of my personnel items in. When I came back they had clean sheets on bed, taken razer blade out toilet left towels I work odd hrs and sleep very little. So Im not in the room very much, Curtain where still not hung properly but you couldn't see in. Left a partial roll of toilet paper the towels were so thin the wash cloths were thicker. I always have my own towels & toiletries. They need to do major clean up and get qualified help. I only stayed because I wasn't in the room much and I was focus on my job for the short time I was in town. The picture on line are very deceiving.

• Haley (4/5): Cheap hotel - The location is good, but the hotel was not clean and had a lot of loud live in customers.
• Verified traveler (2/5): disgusting - the room was so horrible we walked in and left and went to ramada inn. the room wasnt clean. there were no towels, no toilet paper. there was a hole above the lock on the door, where somebody broke it previously. i wouldnt have left my dog there. it should not even be on your registry. apparently it is a haven for the homeless. did not feel safe there
