Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (10/5): - Thoroughly enjoyed my stay
Nice and close to walk to Greenwich which had amazing parks and markets
Staff go above an beyond to help a lost traveller
Felt safe and secure
- Anita (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I stayed for a week and it was nice to come back "home" after a long day exploring London. The room was very comfortable and clean and had everything I needed. The staff were are all very friendly and helpful. The location was great, right next to the DLR which takes you right into the heart of London in just 15-20 minutes. The neighbourhood was lovely, colourful and vibrant. The coop grocery store next door is very convenient too. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip!
- Dee Anna (10/5): - This was just what I was looking for--a great long-stay option with a kitchen and good transportation options close by. The kitchenette had a sink, fridge, microwave, cooktop, and a dishwasher. And there was air con, which was much-needed since June 2022 was brutally hot and A/C in London is hard to come by. There are also laundry facilities on site (in the main bldg) which was helpful. It is located right next to Deptford Bridge DLR station (and close to Deptford and New Cross Train stations) and there was a bus stop that was right out front that allowed me to get to central London easily. There are a number of small grocery stores close by too (Co-Op, Tesco Express, Asda), but large supermarkets are pretty close via the bus, and there are a lots of shops just a couple of DLR stops away at Greenwich or Canary Wharf (also a lot of restaurants).
I felt really safe and it was very quiet, even though it was close to a busy road and to a light rail station. The staff was friendly and helpful; I mostly wanted to be left to my own devices, and they respected that. When I needed something, they provided it. The only slightly annoying thing was that the primary way to interact is via a Whatsapp group, and I am not a smart phone user (yes, there are still a few of us). For most people, I imagine this would not be a problem (and it wasn't much of an issue for me either). I would definitely stay again. It was exactly what I needed when I needed it.
- Marsha (10/5): EXCELLENT LOCATION AND STAY!!!!!! - My husband an I are avid travelers but 1st visit to London! What can I say..the staff was AMAZING and VERY accommodating! Always available to assist with any questions and had a great since of humor ..Adele!! Location was EXCELLENT and centrally located. Bus/train/groceries/diverse great priced restaurants right outside the door. Our Oyster card took us EVERYWHERE!! So glad I chose this StayCity location and can't wait to come back. (Friendly relaxed local bar AJAA with daily radio DJs) Same place next year!!
- m (10/5): - It's in the heart of southeast London. Amazing neighbourhood!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall clean apartment with good set of kitchen amenities. Toilet amenities could be improved.
- E (10/5): - Clean, spacious, convenient. Good gym onsite and laundry services.
- Martin (10/5): Great for family visiting London - Great for a family of four, right next to DLR and only two stops (three minutes) from Cutty Sark. Sofabed converts to two singles side by side for the kids and we had a separate bedroom. Have stayed with Staycity at other locations and will definitely use again.
- Luca (8/5): Solid and good value for money - Good place, as usual and great value for money.
Maybe front desk service needs improvement as it is disappointing to be chased at 9am to settle the payment for the next night.
Overall it is good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Splendid overall. However, the lack of onsite car parking is a minus if you are driving
- MR A (10/5): - Great location, good value, comfortable well-equipped apartment
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Been here before, convenient for DLR , small super markets & Grenwich. Room's small & kitchen basic but enough for breakfast & to microwave an evening meal
- Michael (8/5): Perfect for a weekend break, walk to Greenwich. - Good location for Greenwich, easy to reach west end by public transport.
Excellent check in, great customer service. Requested a quiet room and was given one.
Studio was clean, functional, a little tired and Spartan. Fine for a weekend stay.
Book early if possible to obtain a discounted rate.
Complimentary late check out on Sunday was appreciated!
- Trevor (10/5): Very good well positioned apartment hotel - Fast check in and room upgrade which gave us more space. Staff excellent and responsive; we didn't have many questions but needed towels including a loan on the final day to go swimming in Deptford Bridge. Excellent value for money and great position next to Deptford Bridge DLR
- Fiona (6/5): Could be cleaner - We were here for 4 night to which you are told at reception at check in you need to ask for clean towels and no cleaner will come into your room bins etc won’t be emptied which I was like that’s fine. When we got to the room the sink in the kitchen looked like someone had thrown out there coffee without rinsing it away and it had dried in! The shower smelt like a damp cloth or smelly mop. The tiles in the shower had mildew on them and black grout as you could see the original clean tile on the outside of the shower. The kitchen felt tacky like last person used a lot of oil to cook and hadn’t been cleaned properly the mugs had coffee rings on them. Overall it wasn’t the cleanest asked for clean towels on day 2 they never appeared. Apart from that right beside DLR. some of the pictures on the here are actually from there greenwhich location and not this one.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really close to transport, nice clean room although a little small. All the amenities you need
- Verified traveler (8/5): Would stay again - Nice hotel, nice staff. easy to get to. Studio room much smaller than expected and the fridge is right next to the bed and is noisy. Also some weird whoosing sounds coming from somewhere that happened frequently. Only one pillow is given per person, so had to ask for another and it took three attempts to get them Overall, a nice stay in a good location.
- Sandeep (6/5): Excellent option near to Canary Wharf - Overall stay was good . Space was very less compared to StayCity Harlington..but again the value of the place is not comparable I suppose. Front Desk was excellent
- Darren (10/5): - The Deptford Bridge Rail Station is right next to this property making travel in and around London easy and convenient. It's also a 5 minute walk to London's best Fish & Chips at the Golden Chippy. Laundry onsite was a great plus too for those on extended trips. The staff were all helpful. Great stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Even though I disappointingly got downgraded from an apartment room to a hotel room with appropriate refund I still give this one 10/10. Sebastian who was on reception was really lovely and couldn't help us enough so thank you Sebastian! If you need to stay in south London then this is the only real option imho!
- VERONICA (10/5): - EXCELENT AND CONFORTABLE SPACE, THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very helpful receptionist on check in. Very clean.
- Loris (10/5): Great location and excellent staff - Excellent location, has everything you need including kitchen , gym, laundry and soap, nice room with blackout curtains and quiet. A very pleasant stay and easy commute to Gatwick airport to or from Deptford Bridge station or Deptford station. Staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean. Super friendly staff. Great kitchenette.
Fire alarm went off 5am one night (~Aug 31, 2019). There was no fire department / fire brigade official to give the all clear. The one overnight staff said someone overheated a stove and not to worry but there should be a more formal/official way to communicate this.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice modern apartment hotel with fully equipped apartments and stylish sleek decor, in a great location in the riverfront former docklands area and conveniently next door to the train station and buses, very friendly and accommodating staff.
- Robert Shu Fai (10/5): Staycity Stay-rockin' - The team at the front desk did everything they could to make our stay more comfortable; truly 5 star customer service and delivery.
The place itself is conveniently located for Greenwich, whilst Deptford itself is not much to write home about, getting into central London is not difficult, with direct National Rail services to Kings Cross (Thameslink) and London Bridge (Southern). The DLR is also conveniently right next door for services to the square mile and Bank.
I can't thank the staff here enough for making our stay exceptional, memorable and enjoyable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - no proper wndows,poor oven facility,only 1 bedside cabinet/light.
Well placed for transport links
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent free cell phone for stay was very helpful
- bindia (10/5): good - na
- Verified traveler (8/5): Loved the Staycity Aparthotels. - Loved the Staycity Aparthotels.
For a solo traveler, the room size was great. Loved that the rooms had a fridge, microwave, oven etc.
Great location right next to the station. Front Desk Staff were great and present at all times.
One thing to keep in mind as this is kind of works like a serviced apartment there is no cleaning of the rooms on a daily basis.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This aparthotel was a complete revelation. I was there on business and it was lovely and quiet despite being located right next to Deptford DLR. The corridors are small so there are no kids running up and down or crashing doors. The room was a good size. The floors in the room looked like they had been swept rather than vacuumed and there were toe nails under the kitchen table. Advise wearing slippers. Room would benefit from a stick vac.
- bindia (10/5): - na
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was excellent for transportation. Rooms were modern and clean. Staff was accommodating ,especially Tanishi, the evening front desk agent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would do so again.
- Joseph (8/5): Deptofrd Apartments - StayCity Deptford is in a great location for DLR and bus services. The centre of Greenwich is just over a mile away you can walk or catch the 177 bus
Stayed here a few times and found a new pub - The Brookmill which is about a 5 minute walk, good food and a really nice pub.
Overall good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect for attending the Blackheath festival, comfortable, clean and modern
- IFTACH (4/5): look for another hotel - I stay for 7 days. no cleaning service. no vent in bathroom. windows are sealed, can not be open. room very very very small.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The Aparthotel that just keeps giving - Exceptionally warm and friendly welcome from Leah at Reception
Great to see that the property had lifts serving all rooms.
Large ,clean ,well equipped room with kitchen facilities.
Thoughtful touch to include a fully charged free mobile phone to use during your stay.
Location well -served by buses outside the property with DLR opposite.
Tesco, Asda and Co-op nearby
At first glance, the area looks a bit dull but don't let that put you off. Take a 5 minute stroll to Deptford Market, lined with an abundance of characterful cafes, bakeries and independent shops.
Alternatively, take a fresh walk or a short ride on the bus to indulge in the historic area of Greenwich with its wealth of activities.
- richard (8/5): fire alarm mess - no faults or complaints at hotel staff very nice and helpful on hand at all times, only fault was fire alarms going off this was no fault of hotel just stupid guests not understanding no smoking rules enough to spoil what would have been a perfect break for us visiting our son who works in london will still stay athotel next time we visit.very satisfactory visit enjoyable time.
- Traveller (10/5): - The free cell phone was a great help during our trip!
- Aussie (8/5): - The main room was clean and comfortable but the bathroom - shower recess in particular - left a lot to be desired! There was a lot of mold in the shower...
- prema (8/5): - Close to subway and convenient
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Had a kitchenette and was super clean. Huge towels. Really close to the DLR and only a 10 min walk from the train. Grocery store close by too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location good, staff great, room very clean and organised.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Liked the size of our room and in particular the bathroom. I liked having an iron and ironing board plus hairdryer.
Having a mobile phone to use was genius! We didn't use it but still appreciated that it was there. Would have liked to see out of a window but you can't have everything!
- Erica (10/5): Great Hotel - Great room and location. Was close to multiple subway stations and only took 20-30 mins to get into the city of London. Staff always greeted us as we left for the day and when we came back. Room was very clean and comfortable. We only really used the fridge and microwave in the room but there were lots of cooking utensils in the cabinets. Bathroom was also very clean and had a great shower with plenty of hot water. Would stay here again and try the other locations they have around Europe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Perfect. Will stay again! Right next to dlr, quiet at night, spacious room with all you need inside it. Good staff too. I’ve stayed in other hotels in the area and this beats them all.
- Neil (8/5): One night stay - 1 night stay for a conference & got upgraded to a one bed flat. Got everything you might need in the little kitchen with s decent lounge & kitchen. Bigger window would have been nice. The Chinese nearby is amazing though. The area has definitely seen better times. Service was fast and friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location for visiting the o2 arena, close to DLR. Friendly staff on check in desk, allowed early check in and late check out. Our room was upgraded on arrival.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic that it was only steps from the DLR station. The convenience of having a small kitchen and access to laundry was great. There was a cell phone in your room which could be utilized during your stay, great idea. Room could have been cleaner but was acceptable.
- Sally (10/5): 100% recommended - The best hotel room in London! Receptionist was friendly when checking in, all clean & smelt nice. Room was the best, really big, clean & light. The bathroom & kitchen also fantastic. Made some dinner & sat at the table to eat. Was the size of an apartment.
- Fleur (10/5): Stay a while - We booked for 3 nights & stayed 2 weeks. Staff are very helpful. Great location with excellent bus service options directly out the front of the hotel & two train line options very close. Room features everything you need. It is compact but bigger than many rooms if you were staying inner city London but this has s lift & is cheaper. Area was safe & is in transition with new bars & coffee shops opening up. Close proximity to good grocery shopping options. Greenwich is walking distance. Thanks for a great stay!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value for money - My room was clean and it was good for a short term business stay. The rooms are a little small but the price compensated for this.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Brilliant location right next to the station. Very well equipped with everything you need for a brief stopover or a longer stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful
Property conveniently located to public transportation bars restaurants and grocery markets
- gary (10/5): great hotel just outside London - very good hotel right next to train station my room had a mini kitchen and there is a co op right across the street to by groceries.the 453 bus stops right outside and takes you to central London in 25 minutes.very quiet room i heard no noise from outside the staff would always smile and say hello I recommend this hotel whole heartedly
- Tyne (2/5): Bad - The bed sheets were dirty and the toilet was dirty the remote for the tv kept cutting out
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very quiet and private. Everyone at the front desk was bery polite and helpful. Close to stores and public transportation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A wonderful place to stay!..Clean, convenient to transit and fully equipped apartments!
We were very happy we chose Stay City!
Big shout out to the wonderful staff!
We will stay again!
- Ginette (10/5): Central for London - We stayed two nights. Room was perfect for our stay. The immediate area was ok not too much close by, a stones throw from the DLR and about 15 min walk to Greenwich.
The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Would stay here again
- Samantha (10/5): A touch of heaven on earth. - Having visited the hotel before expectations were already high. Was truly not disappointed, from entering the building to check in the staff for that evening made me feel so comfortable and welcome. I was upgraded to a studio apartment and it made my weekend even more special. My partner had to go back home and I can say had one of the best breaks ever.
- Michael (8/5): - Very good facilities and comofortable room. Didn't get a service visit all week though, which I though was odd.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was new and fresh looking. A very quiet room. Very comfy bed. Lovely staff. Right next to a DLR station. Great value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - 30 second walk to nearest train station which gets you into London in about 15 minutes! Reception was very helpful. No safes in the rooms tho so make sure to ask for a locker when you check in!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Worker's professionalism and the rooms is commendable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stay was quite nice. Front desk team was helpful and the room was just ideal for a solo traveler.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Clean, cosy and friendly staff.
Would have been nice to have a complimentary drink and greater variety of food options.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The local in great. Right next to the DLR station and only about a 20 minute walk to Greenwich park.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the decor, very clean with very friendly and helpful staff.
Need instructions available for kitchen equipment eg microwave, dishwasher etc.
Need to move fire instructions from back of main door as gets covered by coats. Alternatively move coat hangar.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent - It was an amazing experience, very good location for food, transport and easy access to everything you need. Yo feel the comfort of a home. I ll definitely be staying here next time. I recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - First day - bedroom window facing another property window, our window was looking right onto our bed. Asked for a curtain for privacy, came back around midnight to find this wasn’t done. Spoke with reception & they hadn’t even been to our room.
Second day, electrics had gone so we couldn’t get ready, in house maintenance man sent two hours later.
Asked for fresh towels & fresh bed sheets, returned to hotel 8 hours later to find towels had been dropped off but bed sheets not done, gave up in the end.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a fantastic experience, the staff could not do enough for us... I travelled with my mum and 5 year old son. The apartment was clean and well equipped but it was really the staff that made the different I can’t praise them enough they went over and above to make us comfortable
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very small, 1.5 hours from LHR via Uber, 75US, very close to bus and train
- Peter (10/5): - I’ve been to tens of hotels , and Staycity Aparthotel was extremely more than I have ever expected, as an Aparthotel I thought it’s gonna be a normal small dorms, soft on the budget, but I was really impressed wit the quality of everything there, from the tidy clean and quit rooms, and comfortable beds, with that relaxing interior design,to the quality of room temperature adjustment swhich was perfectly accurate. Train and buss station are few steps away, so u don’t need to worry about booking an expensive hotel down town, all u need is just to go downstairs, and ask the amazing friendly staff at the reception, and they will always Lead u. Paul, Alex and the ladies and every single one of the staff, are super friendly and will always make u feel Home. I will def stay there again on my next trip, and will always suggest it to every one I know. Nothing different than 5 stars hotel except for the fancy luxary decoration the 5 stars hotels usually have, not to forget their over pricy bill and for what? All u need is a safe clean neat tidy place, with everything u need around u, even super markets, cashdrawal machines, just anything u need are all few steps away. I seriously cannot write enough about Staycity, I’ll give it 10 stars if I can. Thank you every one in staycity for making my vacation more comfortable than I expected ( I’m a type of picky person, when it comes to hotels and Comfortability. Staycity is what u really need guys and u can thank me later :))
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great place - Great one bed flat. Really quiet despite the DLR station right outside the hotel. Good transport links.
- Kirsty-Anne (10/5): Great place - Great location, right across from a DLR station so you can easily get to anywhere in London. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfy too. There were lots of amenities close by too.
- Tara (10/5): Great find - Excellent customer service. Leah on reception was incredibly helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Everything you need. Location convenient and extremely close to transport but rooms not noisey. The local area is mixed but plenty of places to get food or supplies and some up and coming places.
- Amanda (10/5): Fantastic stay - Defo stay here again, nothing bad about my whole experience here at staycity, will defo return, thank you for a pleasant stay.
- Sarah (10/5): Always a good stay - As long as you get the right room ( which I did as I asked for quiet) it’s a great place to stay. It’s got all you need for a peaceful stay.
- Scot (8/5): Quality affordable apartment - Great location, large rooms, comfortable bed, nice kitchenette.perfect for my needs.
- Scot (8/5): Great location and affordable - I chose Staycity because of the price of their one bedroom apartment, 100 feet the DLR that hooks up with the trains, subways, and the location close to Greenwich. The bed is comfortable, the apartment is very quiet, and the kitchenette is well equipped for my purpose. There are a number of restaurants in the area as well as grocery shops so it has worked quite well. I’ll probably stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Check in was easy and 24 hour. Rooms clean and tidy. Comfortable stay
- Tarminder (8/5): - Very friendly reception staff - special mention to Leah
- Verified traveler (8/5): Confío and well located place to stay, - Confortable and well situated hotel. Convenience stores near by and well connected with transportation networks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good apparthotel with an affordable price. - First day room was very small, amenities were good as well as the bathroom; overall it was good. Apts. are well located, fast transportation to city centre and other areas of the city. Kitchenette very convenient and grocery stores very close to the premises.
- Linton (10/5): Good experience - Was given a very nice room great stay would stay again
- Trevor (8/5): Good value in good location - Room was OK as usual - fairly small, but that is what we paid for, and on the sixth floor so was quiet. Staff were very helpful and even made the bed and tidied the room one morning without being asked. Wifi works fine even on sixth floor.
- Ludger (10/5): Holiday 2018 - Close to DLR and bus transportation. Friendly staff.
- Joseph (8/5): SE London - Good accommodation with great transport links but the area is a bit grubby.
- Rhiannon (8/5): - I liked the location in relation to Deptford Bridge DLR station as it was directly next to it so made getting into the city easy. There was some disruption on the line but New Cross station was just a 10 minute walk away. The area on the way New Cross however was some what run down and wouldn't recommend walking round at night on your own. The room was clean and spacious with modern decor. One of the bedside lamps started sparking and blew the fuse in the room, there was emergency lighting so we weren't completely in the dark. We called reception and the night staff arrived within minutes to turn the lights back on and removed the offending lamp. All the staff we came into contact with very helpful. My only issue in the room we were in was that there was no plug socket near the mirror to use my straighteners in front of it and the hair dryer was wired in inside the wardrobe but the wire wasn't long enough to use that in front of the mirror either. If you planning on staying here maybe take a little extention cable just in case any of the other rooms are like this
- Jonathan (10/5): Nice quiet hotel with great links to the city. - Was a really nice apartment, conveniently right next to the DLR. You heard no outside noise at all. And they had all the facilities you could think to need. Was within walking distance to Cutty Sark where i had a nice dinner whilst watching the sun set over city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was nice and comfortable
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location near trains and Greenwich just a 5 minute bus ride.
- Amanda (8/5): Great stay - Great room with a modern, urbane and continental feel, reminiscent of staying in similar apartment rooms in Germany. Only gripe would be the shower wasn't `strong' enough - but I have long hair - and shower cubicle rather small.
- Shirley (6/5): The unfortunate incident at the bridge - We had a very unfortunate incident my travelling companion was waiting for a taxi to arrive for the airport at 4:00 am.
With his luggage inside he popped out for a cigarette only to have
an encounter with an attacker. That in it’s self is dreadful but the staff didn't help or assist which is apauling.
Luckily the Taxi driver arrived. On refection it’s great for tourists as Deptford is such a brilliant location. What else can I say.
Location, location, location.
- Alan (4/5): I won't bee staying again - I stay in london every week for work and have stayed in many establishments from 5 star to basic apartments. Unfortunately this was not a pleasurable stay. The staff were lovely and welcoming. My room was pretty small but not the smallest I've stayed in. However, the kingside bed was two old uncomfortable single mattresses pushed together, the shower was broken with the plug blocked, the curtains were hanging off the rails, the noise from above felt like they were going to come through the ceiling and the views out of the room can only be described as overlooking the local deralict crack house. It is a shame as the location is good but I will definitely not be staying here again.
- Jillian (10/5): Great Staff, Clean, Convenient Location - Had a wonderful time - the staff is super friendly and helpful! The location might not be in the downtown core, but they are very easy to reach on the amazing transit system and they are near beautiful Greenwich and an amazing fish and chips restaurant - the Golden Chippy! Room was small, but clean and tidy!
- Jean (8/5): A nice stay - Nice and simple self-contained room with beds, table, kitchen w/ dishwasher, AC, TV. Bathroom with shower was clean and nice. Condition is recently renovated or new. This is an Apart-Hotet, so do not expect daily room service. Front desk was manned by very nice people (24/7) , always ready to help you. Quiet environment even if next to DLR train station (very convenient to get downtown). Location is near Greenwich and its attractions. Wifi was very performant. We spent an enjoyable 6-day stay.
- Gert (8/5): Recommended room w kitchenette, close to transport - Small room with kitchenette, so very convenient. Meant for longer stay, but works as a hotelroom too. A very busy street outside, so a little noisy but also near busstops and a DLR train for transport. Helpful, friendly staff :)
- Alan (8/5): London break - First time at a Staycity and pleasantly surprised. Room was fine, comfortable bed, good size bathroom and useful ‘kitchen’ area. Only issue was the shower where temperature control wasn’t working. Room was at the back and was quiet, despite being near a main road. Very convenient for Deptford Dridge DLR station and right next door to family that we were visiting. Walking distance to Greenwich, which is fine. Going the other way towards New Cross, not so good. Will use Staycity again.
- Bob (10/5): Excellent value - great staff. - Pretty much next door to Deptford Station ... staff at reception ultra helpful and friendly. Room very clean - we received an upgrade... so had access to cooking facilities although we didn't make use of them (only stayed one night). Excellent price given proximity / easy access to all that London has to offer.
