• AnAussie (8/5): A nice motel. - A clean, comfortable and modern motel. Our room was downstairs, mid way in, and very quiet. Our room was a good size with a huge bed. The mattress had that combination of being mid-firm but soft enough that we had a very good night’s sleep. The room was very well appointed, with everything you need including cutlery, plates, bowls etc so that you can do your own breakfast. The TV was a good size. There was a good size vanity to store your stuff and the hot water was very hot indeed. Unfortunately only a rain shower head which means your hair gets wet whether you want it to or not, even with a shower cap. A few improvements could assist such as a stainless steel kettle (plastic should not be used any more by anyone) and a strong magnet on the front door to hold it open. A bit of a paint and general smartening up would also assist.
• ExploreThyCity143 (8/5): Clean, Comfortably & Enjoyable. - As someone who usually stays in the bush when they go rural, I wasn't expecting the overall quality and presentation of the motel as a whole. There are a few small gripes such as thin walls/floors, dusty extraction fans and roughly graded shower floors. But the overall presentation, cleanliness, quality & comfort are on par with my (self-proclaimed) high expectations. As previously mentioned the walls and floor/ceilings are rather thin & you can hear people talking in neighbouring rooms or walking past, foot steps from people above & water rushing through the pipes from the room above. However the overall noise level from the major road is next to nothing & I experienced no sleep disturbances during my multiple stays. I didn't try the food here as the costs on the menu for the mains where rather high and the town has plenty of options along the main drag (which is about a 5 minute drive). With all of this said I would gladly choose to come back here in the future as the cleanliness of the room and amenities are very high, the staff are friendly and helpful, & the rooms are vibey & comfortable. I would happily recommend this place to others looking for quality accommodation in the area.

• I2194CKdavidw (4/5): Not going there again without gold plated assurances of improvement - I was disappointed on several counts. We had 3 rooms booked for a business visit. When we arrived before the normal check-in time, we got a flat “no”, with no offer, for example, of leaving our luggage anywhere. When we did come back after the appointed time, we had to wait until about 40 mins after the time until the poor cleaner lady could finish. The first night I was up until 2 am doing “homework” for the next day. That was fine and not unexpected. Except that the only ceiling lights were at the other end of the long room. So there I was for that many hours using my phone’s torch function. Not a good look for the Technical Manager of an international award winning engineering consultancy. The next afternoon I got brave and decided to ask the “man at the desk” for a desk lamp. He initially said there was one there already. Then he realised that they removed the lamps from a couple of rooms “because they did not work”. Evidently they had not put one back in my room. He said he would get me one. I said that I could collect it when I came for dinner. But he replied that the cook was sick. And that no dinner would be had there. Ohhhhh!!! We went down the street to another motel restaurant. The next night we decided that we did not want food cooked by a sick cook. And also we reflected on the quality of the food from our first night. So we went to the restaurant down the road again. But the fellow did not ever come good with the light. So I sent an SMS to him via the number on the Reception door. I received no reply. A couple of mornings we turned up for breakfast at opening time. 7 am. I ended up sending two more SMSs. No replies. He turned up at about 7:10. Twice. There was no option of a continental breakfast nor a mere cereal in the morning. I ended up having eggs all 3 times. Against my gut’s better judgement. It is still sore. I’m a little underwhelmed there.
• lauravY6313YO (10/5): Best beds, great check in and awesome restaurant - I have stayed here a few times now. I like it becasue late check in is easy and the beds are brand new! If you are looking for an easy process to check in and high end rooms this place is the place! I always stay here in my way for work trips! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Plus if you need a steak dinner they have the best restaurant!
• Trip486557 (10/5): Allan & Tyrese Property Managers are AWESOME!!! - Without question - the best service we've experienced in a hotel anywhere in Australia. The resturant and food were delightful and the room was clean and comfortable. HOWEVER, what made the entire stay so enjoable was the care and entusiasm that the interim managers - Allan and Tyrese - ooozed to all their patrons. They are the personification of customer service!

• TowerBloke (8/5): Happy Campers - Very satisfied with our experience at this motel.. We stayed 2 nights (weekend) and probably the only negative was that the restaurant wasn’t open - it only opens Tuesdays to Fridays - but not to worry, there are heaps of eateries in nearby Parkes CBD. The room was large, beds were very comfortable, everything was neat and clean, and they even made up our room and changed our towels after the first night. There was no traffic (or other) noise at night. The TV was a challenge for anything other than the free-to-air channels - we fiddled and gave up. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc, plus microwave. Parking immediately in front of our room. All in all we were happy campers.

We were disappointed when walking into the room with the lighting,, there was one small light on the wall and one in the foyer and two small bed lamps. The carpet and curtains were very dirty. Walking into the bathroom we noticed that it was also dirty. Wall and floor tiles needed a good scrub at least every week. The bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep. We would have enjoyed a comfy chair each to relax.

The location too suited me well, on the outskirts of town where it was quiet and rural. I hope to stay there again.
• G5526OYpetere (10/5): Very comfortable and welcoming stay. Highly recommended - The room was true to the images posted on the Qantas Hotels site, large, well appointed and clean,. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we got a great night's sleep after a ten hour drive. We had a very nice meal in their restaurant for dinner and a good breakfast. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful, making us feel very welcome. There were many contractor's vehicles parked outside rooms when we arrived and I regard that as a good sign that a motel attracts their business. They're always looking for high standards, being away from home a lot. Highly recommended and would certainly stay there again.

• stephenh436 (10/5): Station Motel is just what you’re looking for - Station is a very good motel. Nice design, spacious rooms, good bathrooms. Basic facilities, but good value. Restaurant does a good job, even now with room service. Rooms toward the highway side will get some traffic noise, but that’s true for pretty much every motel in Parkes. The managers are always very nice folks and very helpful. I’ve stayed here regularly for a decade and it’s always my go-to, Highly recommended.

Room was spacious and as long as you were up the back the road noise was minimal. The managers are new to the facility and were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Easy to find on the highway, and we were near the back of the block so it was super quiet.

Station Motel at Parkes is situated not far from the town of Parkes. We took a short ride into town and had a good meal at night and a good breakfast the next day.
• dalelaidlaw63 (10/5): Station Motel Stay - Great place to stay! Terrific facilities and staff. Clean, comfortable and tidy. Rooms too close to the Newell Highway can be slightly noisy by exception. Generally good car parking facilities. Veranda piles can be a challenge to navigate around.

• Rebecca (6/5): - for the price per night i expected at least to have my room "cleaned" daily. making a bed was just pulling the bedclothes up and pillows thrown against the bed head...toilet was not cleaned, floors not done and usually in a 5 night stay sheets should have been changed once - perhaps there was some small print i didn't see? freezer in fridge didn't work. one day i asked them to come back as i was in the shower. i left and came back around 2 and the room hadn't been done, and the poor reception girl had to do it after i asked. Busy times in Parkes so they have a captive audience, but passing thru, or recommending travellers to use it - i wouldn't

The location was wonderful- central to everything and the Henry Parkes centre was a short walk away. Will probably stay there again. The room was wonderful and the amenities were excellent.
• Q1691SGkateb (6/5): Not what we expected - Lovely from the outside and a great spacious double room to fit our (big) family. Just a bit disappointed with the cleanliness and overall look of the room. Floors and cupboards/drawers were very dirty and one draw was full of crumbs and food. The bathroom drains smelled like sewage which meant the second we walked into the rooms that's all we could smell. The showers didn't stay a consistent temp and burnt the kids when they were showering. Three lights had no light bulbs and the lamp kept flickering on and off even when switched off so had to unplug from the wall. It looked really nice on the website and overall the room was presented well however just disappointed in how clean it was and the things that didn't work/were missing for the price.
