- elizabeth (6/5): Beautiful hotel, oversells itself on all fronts - The proximity to the beach cannot be beat, and the hotel asthetics are beautiful. The patios are a definite high point, and the front desk staff are as nice and helpful as can be. If you're looking for privacy, this place is not for you. I could hear everything my neighbor was doing, and I mean EVERYTHING. The hotel should not advertise itself as having a pool, what it has is a medivail dunk tank. I read before I arrived that it was more of a dipping pool so I was prepared for a smaller pool I could use briefly to cool off, but in actuality it was non-functional. I did not see one person using it the entire week I was there. Additionally-the two times I tried to order coffee at the cafe the person working was unable to help me because they were not a barista. Lastly, I was put in the wrong room the first night of my stay and I was offered slight compensation through items I had picked up in the hotel shop, but never actually received the compensation. It's a beautiful hotel, but oversells itself on most aspects, especially for the price.

Just a fabulous vibe for a relaxing break. we appreciated the quiet hours which helped make it truly peaceful. I’m not a memory foam mattress fan so I had a little trouble getting comfortable at night. The vegan hotel breakfast was delicious but service was slow with just one chef on to serve numerous tables.

- Wingsandthings (4/5): Looks good, lives not so good - This was probably wonderful once, a quirkily designed charmer with a lot of personality, but it was a disappointment for an overnight stay. Our room right off the outdoor lobby was tiny, shabby and tired, and there was no hot water in the outdoor shower that looked inviting, but wasn’t. The bed was too soft. The pillows? Lumpy or hard, your choice. The pool is a glorified tub. Then, there’s the vegan thing. I’m a carnivore myself but was prepared to compromise until the charming kitchen staff explained, that they’d compromised first, and served butter but not milk because, well, both come from cows? To their credit, they comped my toast and my wife’s raspberries, but we left for nearby SJU sure we’d never be back. A rethink and a major refresh are called for!

- TonyPNY (6/5): More vibe than comfort - This hotel is perfect for a particular kind of traveler, but much less so for others. Be aware before you book. PROS: Just about anyone will appreciate the gourmet vegan dinners served on Saturday nights (whatever you do, if you’re staying here, make certain to include a Saturday evening). The food is extraordinary and obviously prepared and served with skill, creativity, and love. The peaceful courtyard and long (8 am to 1 pm) service of lunch/brunch are real luxuries. You can schedule a massage, if available, and it’s excellent. The beach is an easy 2 1/2-block walk from the front gate. (Why does the website say only one block? Unfortunately, that’s not the only hyperbole you’ll find there.) CONS: Beyond those amenities, however, other conditions are a bit primitive. The “pool” is a large cistern, which no one used in the four days we were there, for fairly obvious reasons. The nearest decent food, once the breakfast/brunch is over, is at least a 10-minute walk away, on a rundown commercial strip. (On the other hand, one restaurant on that strip, The Sunset Club, is one of San Juan’s very finest, not to be missed wherever you stay). The rooms are quirky-eccentric — our toilet was in an enclosed outdoor space (other reviewers have commented on the mosquitoes; they’re not kidding), on an unfinished concrete floor that it shared with a shower and a hammock. The tiny, cracked sink was mercifully indoors, but storage space for clothes and toiletries was very limited. Hot water was iffy; two mornings in a row, the shower was ice cold. There was evidently no hot water anywhere in the hotel for more than a day, a situation the staff dismissed with a shrug, blaming it on the city. Mind you, we were in a premium “romantic” room, at $500 a night! Overall, the space had the incense-scented, faded-glory feel of a roadside stop for pilgrims on the way to Ganeshpuri. If you find fancy hotels pretentious or intimidating, and prefer vibe over comfort, the Dreamcatcher may be just right for you. But if you’re thinking that $500 a night might get you something more along the lines of an on-site restaurant and bar with lounge chairs, an infinity pool, plentiful hot water, and scenery, this won’t suit you. Just be aware before you commit.
- V7351ZScarolinep (10/5): A Dreamy Oasis in San Juan's Ocean Park - Dreamcatcher is dreamy! We got a great room in the back of the property so enjoyed quiet, privacy, and lots of lovely outdoor space. The shared garden / communal area was a lovely place to read, play cards, enjoy shade, and the landscaping makes it feel like a hidden oasis. It's off the beaten path, in Ocean Park, and we loved the local feel and not overly crowded beach. And a quick walk to a lot of great restaurants. The hotel provides complimentary beach chairs and towels too which is a great plus! The design is the best part. Eclectic, authentic, and full of Puerto Rico charm!! We'll be back for sure!
- Velomedic (10/5): So relaxing - What a beautiful stay. This boutique hotel really provided the tranquility we were looking for. From your entrance to the property you are enveloped in nature and color. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was spot on and only 2 blocks from a very relaxing area on the beach. We had a standard room which itself seems small until you appreciate you have an equal sized outdoor environment that is also part of your private room. Sitting in the hammock chair and reading outside in the morning with a cup of coffee was a great way to start the day. There were many good local restaurants and shop within a few blocks and Uber or Lyft were always quick if we wanted to visit a bit further away.

It was a short walk from the beach and the hotel had many amenities for beach lovers (outdoor showers, beach chairs, ample space to hang wet swimsuits and towels.) the hotel is plant based and offers breakfast/ brunch daily with unique creations. Amanda made our breakfast on our last day and it was delicious (and she was a delight!)

- 6699sarahz (10/5): Gorgeous Experience - The dreamcatcher is an Oasis in the quaint ocean park neighborhood of San Juan. The pictures absolutely match reality: the hotel is beautifully integrated with natured, boasting lush common spaces and stylish rooms. We stayed in the Sanctuary style room with an outdoor shower and bathroom area, and an air conditioned bedroom area. Although the bathroom areas for each room are “open concept,” it felt private and we couldn’t hear anyone else during our stay. The hotel is in a great area with nice local eats, just a $5-$10 uber from old San Juan, and steps away from a really nice and free beach. The staff, known as “the dream team” were all excellent and caring, willing to give recommendations and asking if we needed anything. This hotel was the perfect getaway for a romantic week, and we found it to be very valuable for the money. I miss the vibes already!

We got two rooms, one for my sisters and one for my wife and me. Upon arrival, we waited for one of the rooms to be ready. Sara, at the front desk, the ultimate sweetheart, upgraded us to a BEAUTIFUL upstairs room with an outdoor shower and a small lounge area. This trip was to celebrate the birthdays of one of my sisters and my wife, so this exceptional detail made the trip even more special.
- Roya (10/5): - Dreamcatchers is a beautiful, unique, bohemian concept. It is exactly as advertised. It's described as a hotel, but there are a lot of "hostel" elements: shared spaces like kitchen, "honor system" for beverages, and communal bathrooms/showers. It does offer very unique rooms with their own bathrooms and patios. I'm not sure I would stay here again, but that is not because it wasn't beautiful. The pool is as advertised, a big kiddie pool full of leaves. The rooms inside (granted each room is different) were very clean, but nowhere to put your suitcase, no TV (which who cares when you're around this beautiful oasis, but...I wanted it), felt dirty w/o rugs & lighting was absymal. However, they offered beach towels and chairs, the beach is literally 2 blocks away, cool red light therapy mask, comfortable bed, plenty of plugs, and wifi was good. The biggest reasons why I wouldn't stay here again is the outdoor bathroom and shower. I love that they are outside, however, without the fan on, the mosquitos are unbearable. Never did I read you needed to keep the fan on anywhere. I turn off all electricity when not in use, so in the morning when I went to the bathroom, I got eaten alive - no less than 10 bug bites. The staff to their credit came checked it out & even sprayed. They were amazing. But, the shower is never hot, which in PR, you don't really need, but at night it would be nice to have. If this were a hostel, different expectations, but it is not. Beautiful but not 4 me.

It’s only a short walk to a beautiful residential beach with beach chairs and towels available in the lobby. The menu changed daily and each dish tasted better than the last. The communal spaces and private terraces are perfect for a tranquil, relaxing stay in paradise. Staff is very friendly and helpful, with more in-house amenities and activities than I’ve ever seen a boutique hotel offer. Truly an exceptional location that I would highly recommend to anyone!

- Puskas (8/5): Only spent one night, but i would def come back in the future - Really good vibe, nice staff, good location close to the beach The lock on the door is really just a small lock, not secure at all. This was the only thing that i did not like. You should be mindful of that, especially if you are a solo female traveler

It was covered, so you're always good. I am inspired to build an outdoor bathroom in my future home! The beach is literally right behind the property, like barely 2 blocks away. I highly recommend this property!

- N7764VBpaigec (10/5): CHEF HUGO IS THE BEST - Chef Hugo gave us the most INCREDIBLE meals throughout our trip. The cinnamon pancakes changed my life, but sitting in the kitchen while he shared his passion for cooking and energy with my friend and I was my favorite part. Truly had some of the best bites from him- meals I still constantly think about!!!

- happyincharlietown (8/5): A Romantic and Relaxing Stay at The Dreamcatcher - The concierge was attentive and there were many items for loan to use at the lovely swimmable and walkable beach which was only one block away. The dinner suggestions were excellent and close by. The scent of incense was pleasant. The landscaping was exquisite throughout the property and our room’s spacious lanai in room 9 directly across from the concierge. The sleeping area with a very comfortable bed and en-suite bathroom were air-conditioned. The lanai is covered to keep rain out of all areas except for the outdoor open-air shower where you can see the blue sky or stars above you. The outdoor soaking tub was very big and complimentary bath bombs provided. The hammock was another relaxing touch. A red light mask was complimentary however did not work. No need to worry about privacy as the inn makes sure to provide an abundance of it. This establishment is very peaceful and welcoming. The innkeeper pipes in a peep frog/rainforest soundtrack in the evenings which although are peaceful sounds the volume was a bit loud. We had to turn up the fan on our A/C to drown the frogs out. Calming music selections played throughout the day. The a la carte vegan breakfast was adequate but with a very small menu and lacked flavor. Also, breakfast in bed would be an added benefit for the price point. We expected a juice selection being in a tropical region, however smoothies were available for purchase. Tea and coffee were complimentary and available 24/7. A minibar, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and coffee were available 24/7 on an honor system which made this a true upscale bed and breakfast. The only reasons why my review is not 5 stars was the lack of housekeeping coordination and our complimentary or comfort-related items such as a bottle of wine were not delivered so we received a room credit. We left to the beach, informed the concierge that we would like our room cleaned and came back to an untidy room. We politely asked for it to be cleaned again and occupied ourselves elsewhere while it was serviced which wasn’t ideal as we hoped to enjoy our room and lanai as much as possible. Security was excellent with a 24/7 mobile security officer and the neighborhood gated with a security guard checkpoint at night. Another suggestion is to have outdoor chair cushions available for the chaise loungers and wicker chairs/stools for maximum comfort. We had to use yoga mats and towels as makeshift cushioning which was subpar when paying 5-star prices. If these minor service delivery items are addressed the inn will be worthy of a 5-star luxury coastal San Juan lodging experience. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay and will likely return in the future.

- Jason (2/5): Management turned the experience from a 8-9/10 to a 2/10 - Stayed here twice - first time was amazing. Second was less so, and the 3rd time didn't end up happening. First stay: The room we stayed in was fantastic - outdoor lobby, bathrooms, etc are a really neat touch. Great incorporation of nature into the stay, and also it's homey and welcoming. The teas are great. I was super excited for the 2nd stay. Then everything went sideways. I was very excited for the second stay (one night). Upon arrival, we checked in about 7pm into a different room. As soon as I opened the door for the bathroom, there was a strong smell of mold, and a lot of mold was obvious in the area. Photo posted. We weren't able to switch rooms until after 1am, which made things very inconvenient. I had asked the front desk on the way out the following morning, and they told me that they would be ok with a suite for stay #3 at the rate I paid for this stay...and that management would send me an email to confirm. There was no third stay because no management ever got back to me. I reached out to the hotel on no less than 5 different occasions, and every time front desk said I would be contacted by management, and made me think I would have the discount for my trouble. It wasnt until the evening before I'd have come back to the hotel for Stay #3 that front desk told me I'd only get a $40 discount. By that time of course, the prices for hotels had gone up by more than $40. I stayed at Tryst (right on the beach in Condado) and it was great. All I wanted to do was come back to the hotel for one more night and give them a 5* review. But I've never had such flaky responses from management in any industry or with any product. I felt like mgmt was hiding behind front desk (front desk was very courteous and professional by the way). Negative stars for management style, and for booking people in rooms with a lot of mold.
- Elika (9/5): Gorgeous indoor/outdoor designer boutique hotel: quirky interior, lush landscaping, water soundscape - Dreamcatcher is gorgeous. Walking into the gate is like stepping into another world, somewhere deep in the jungle. The common spaces unwind like a fairytale as you enter, with water features providing a sonic backdrop and myriad lights creating a magical effect. The rooms also have a lot of personality and care. The combination of indoor/outdoor spaces and integration of interior and landscape design makes this hotel very special. Mosquitos can be annoying. There are fans to blow them away from some of the key common spaces, but because the hotel is not a fully enclosed indoor space, they are there, so be prepared and bring some repellent.

- Nino (10/5): Exceptional - An absolute gem in PR! The pictures don’t even do justice to what you experience. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed, and I can compare to many, as well 5 stars. The hotel is located in a gated community, which means it’s all times very quiet. From your first step into the property you already feel that you are in paradise, starting from the smells ending with the little jungle they created . Attention to details, room size more than generous, comfortable beds and the outdoor shower, my god it makes you want to never leave this place. Superb breakfast, great room service and staff. Loved the fact that when you have a late flight you can enjoy your entire day at the beach and still come back and shower. Ps: the different beach towels every day made always my day, felt like unwrapping every day a new gift . Thank you for the best experience
