Guest Reviews
- karenm865 (6/5): The Picture is not of the Inn - The Admiral Farragut Inn is one of four properties run by the Inns of Newport. We think the experience will vary depending on which building you're in, what floor your on, and which type of room you've booked.
We stayed on the third floor of the Admiral Farragut Inn, so we can only speak to that. We stayed three nights, the third one was free because of confusion in booking.
As this is a very old house, this attic room was small, with a tiny bathroom. There is nowhere to set items in the bathroom, and limited space in the bedroom. The room had no chairs, and there's no place to sit in the building except for in the dining room. Perhaps one of the other buildings has a lounge area. The temperature was comfortable, but it was April. It might be toasty in the summer. Fans or air conditioning would be called for.
Breakfast is served in this building for the other properties too. Breakfast was made to order, and the French toast was particularly good. Breakfast requests are made at check in for the next morning. For some reason, the innkeeper assumed we wanted the same breakfast every day. We made different requests directly with the cook the day before.
The location near downtown Newport is superb, with an Irish Pub a block away and the waterfront and all it has to offer in easy walking distance.
This is a good choice if you're looking for basic accommodations, but if you want to hang around in the room or building, it may not be for you. Rooms on the lower floors are more spacious.

- Aimee (9/5): After this visit, we will definitely return - Quaint. Loved that we stayed in historic area. The made to order breakfast was good! We are walking distance to downtown Newport, shops, the docks and so many restaurants! Just wish they had coffee available for early risers. Though they did have tea.
- Charles (1/5): Not worth the money. - This is in a good location, within walking distance to the harbor and the mansions. This was bad. If you look at the pictures below, the first one was as advertised and the second one is the real deal. Let's start with comfort. Bed was two twins with box springs pushed together and what appeared to be a futon draped over the top. A tent would have likely been more comfortable. The floor where I tried to sleep was marginally better. We didn't take a picture of the possessed window AC unit that we had zero control of. It was set at 69 but the room was easily at 80 degrees. The third picture is where the TV was supposed to be. We never were able to connect to wifi and this was a complaint of several guests we ran into, just very bad. Now let's go to cleanliness. Dirty. Head band on the floor behind the door - do they even clean the rooms? The bathroom pictures and especially the sink base and inside give you an idea of just how bad this is. Lastly, the walls/door had no acoustical privacy. We had an individual return to his room at 2:40am and talked in his room for over 4 hours. Other guests were coming out of their rooms to tell him to be quiet to no avail. No phone in the room or emergency contact. Just a ghost town.

- shawntL7443SD (2/5): Terrible room, great location - My husband and I booked a king room in the Admiral Farragut. We ended up in the building across the street. When checking in I mentioned that we didn't know where to find the office to check in (it was in the building next to the Farragut) and the manager gave me a song and dance about booking the room through a third party. Our room had the most vile odor. The window couldn't be opened because the old fashioned rope and weights were broken. And right outside the window if we were able to open the window) we all of the garbage pails. The window treatment was full of dust. The corners of the room were dusty. We left first thing in the morning because we couldn't stand the odor in the room for one more second. The worst value for the money of anyplace I have ever stayed.
- Shawn (1/5): Never again. - Location. The manager was nasty.
The room smelled like vomit.
- Penny (8/5): Lodging was very comfortable and within walking distance to most places. Very happy I stayed here. - Owner was wonderful, helpful & full of good info. Breakfast was awesome - hot meal cooked just for us & cook was a very nice person. I felt very welcome by both people. Minor items: more towel space, the tub was dated, needed more outlets.
- Christopher (6/5): Historic Inn with issues - Great location with easy walk to historic centre, waterfront, bars and restaurants. Pleasant staff, comfortable bed and satisfactory breakfast. Dated bathroom showing its age. Poor upkeep with unrepaired ceiling and bathroom tiling affected by a leak that has rotted flooring. Not as in publicity pictures. Breakfast room felt like hostel.
- Michael (6/5): - Staff was amazing and so welcoming and friendly. Big suggestion sign posting as to where main check in is for all buildings... room was a big tired as far as sink as and in need of replacement. We have stayed in Newport many times over 30years - recently having rented the entire Chart House for long weekends over past 5years each fall, so know we know what to expect from Newport Inns...just needs some attention.
- Allan (10/5): - Very clean rustic type setting typical of old colonial period Inns
- Damien (10/5): LIKE HOME - Amazing experience was treated as if I lived there permanently. Excellent customer even made breakfast for me outside posted hours due to my work schedule while visiting. Walking distance to all the action in historical area of Newport.
- Monica (8/5): - Very nice property. Showed a bit of its age but that is understandable given the historic significance of the building.
- Happy_Campers587 (10/5): Enjoyed our stay at Historic Inn in Newport. - My sister and I shared the room. Huge king size bed. The Inn is close to Thames Street. You can easily walk everywhere. The jacuzzi tub was a perfect end to all the walking. Our host Rick was so welcoming and his staff was top notch. The complementary made-to-order breakfast was a nice start to the day.
- Nilsa (8/5): Guided tourist from NJ - Stay was pleasant, older in conditions, in need of repairs and refurbishment. A little shabby, but bed accommodations were very good. Comfortable & crisp clean linens. However not enough Parking spots per rooms; fell short in not including for Check-In possibly not having anywhere to park our vehicle. At times cars may end up on public & very narrow street. It was uneasy not knowing uf using car for day trip would conclude in not being able to park locally to property where I’m staying. Otherwise the breakfast service we found A+ the team there works very well together get the job done always so pleasant & professional. They are an asset to the business. Thank you guys & gal.
- Chrissy (6/5): Great spot for one night, breakfast was ok. - Good location
Nice staff Lots of dust on the walls, cleaning needs to be more detailed. Behind the headboard was a 1/2” think lining of dust.
- Eileen (3/5): I would not stay there again. - The beds were comfortable, and the breakfasts were adequate. We stayed in a “suite.” Bathroom/shower was tiny, small sink with no place to put toothbrushes, cosmetics. No sitting areas. Not enough waste baskets. No refrigerator in room and nowhere to get ice. Water cooler empty. Housekeeping never came around. Parking was atrocious with my car getting blocked in on the first day. For the money, I expected at least the creature comforts.
- terry (10/5): -
- keithj100 (2/5): very moldy and musty Inn - Their rooms are very musty and moldy. My wife and I both reacted to the strong mold and musty smell in our room within minutes. I informed the manager of the problem and she even offered to help us find another place to stay. She said we needed to speak to the owner in the morning. We spoke to him. He stated he knew of the problem and that was a problem in his old buildings. he stated he would refund us our money. He since has refused to refund our money and told my credit card company that the charge for the rooms was not refundable. I am out $2,100.00 do to the unhealthy condition of his building and his refusal to refund my money.
- Matthew (6/5): - This is a fun concept. A quaint B&B in an ideal Newport location. The problem is it’s REALLY old and run down. The toilet was broken and took a ton of force to flush. (They warned us about this as we were checking in.) The window could not be opened because it was covered in plastic. The staff was not unfriendly, but not super helpful either. I think we were supposed to get breakfast each day, but nobody mentioned it after check in. Parking is included, but a nightmare due to limited space.
- Young (5/5): Passable -
- Courtney (6/5): Pleasant - Great location
- Hilbert (10/5): The staff and property were fantastic! - The property was very well kept and our room was fabulous! It was very clean, had a large bathroom and the bed was comfortable! The location was perfect, a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Newport. The staff was so welcoming and very accommodating. My husband and I come to Newport every year for our anniversary, we will definitely stay at this location again! I have nothing negative to say about the property.
- Sandi-lynn (6/5): close to everything. was a good inital choice and breakfast was good. - staff was great. room was small and AC rattled all night. could not keep food in room because of ants. AC rattled and ants.
- sb2az (4/5): Disappointed - We traveled with another couple to tour New England and spent two nights in the Admiral Farragut Inn. Although it is in a prime historic location within walking distance to everything, our experience was very disappointing. Upon arriving at checkin we were told abruptly specifically how to flush the toilet in our room, as the lever was stuck and very difficult to operate so he said. I thought this was odd so I asked him after we checked in to demonstrate how to flush the toilet since he was so adamant about it. He had great difficulty himself pushing the lever to get it to flush but assured us that it would work. Needless to say, to expect my wife to forcefully & with all of her might press the lever down without breaking it was ridiculous. In fact when I checked out I told the man directly that the toilet should be fixed and it is inappropriate to put the expectations on the guest vs. the Innkeeper. When I told him this he abruptly stated " we are replacing it". Sanitation: the Queen room we stayed in was filthy. From spiderwebs, crumbs, stale smelly air, (we spent $9.00 on spray sanitizer air freshener just to tolerate the smell) and the dining room had a huge hole in the ceiling covered in what looked like aluminum foil. Our friends had the King suite upstairs and said the bathtub had mold in it, floors filthy, and pillow shams dirty and smelly. Breakfast was nice and very good, kitchen staff friendly, Ashton the staff young college student was the best, and was so kind and courteous. We would not recommend staying at this Inn in the current condition. The man who checked us in & out seemed frustrated, overwhelmed, and dismissive.
- Paul (9/5): Highly recommend - Location was excellent. Easy to walk to many of the downtown businesses and easy to get around by car to those areas not walkable.
Breakfast was great. Room was great.
Off street parking was nice. Seemed to have room for all guest cars
- J2304OPbarbaraw (2/5): Disappointment - If I could rate the Admiral Farragut Inn a 0 I would. Just 36 hours before my arrival the Inn canceled my reservation. No explanation, no apology. It took several phone calls to several other establishments to find a room at the last minute. Very disappointed. I was looking forward to a nice stay and the Inn ruined it.
- Paul (5/5): Our stay was fine, not great, not poor either. - Location is great, you can walk to almost everything. No outside seating area, no bar or refrigerator in room, parking was difficult.
- Mary Ryan (4/5): - Fine, not ideal. Several of the staff seemed new (makes sense, as it’s early summer season) and not totally sure what they were doing. I believe some of the other Inns Of Newport properties were nicer than Admiral Farragut, where we stayed, so I would book one of those instead if planning this trip again. Visitors should be aware that bc the properties are converted from homes, no two rooms are alike, nearly all are not ADA accessible and have many steep stairs, not to expect central A/C or coffee maker, fridge, ironing board, etc. in the room. The front desk is in another building and has limited hours. All of this is stated but worth mentioning bc some of the other guests clearly didn’t read that when booking and seemed surprised.
- Michelle (10/5): - This Inn is on a quiet street, the proprietor and his staff are wonderful. You are in the middle of everything. I would stay here again.
- Seana (5/5): Affordable Option if You Just need a Place to Sleep - Great location, walking distance to wharf, restaurants, shops, attractions, etc. Includes parking. This inn is on the less expensive side (for Newport) and you get what you pay for but at over $400/night (on a holiday weekend) I didn't expect the room to be so dated. While generally clean, floors were dusty. Bathroom was very small and very dated. Beds were made nicely but mattresses were older, spring mattresses. Breakfast was good but we had to say what we wanted the night before, servings were quite small and options were sparse compared to other places I've stayed. We were given keys to the front door of the building where our room was located but it was never locked, which was a bit concerning as well.
- Patricia (10/5): - We loved the historic homes our rooms were in. Beds were comfortable. The innkeeper and staff were helpful and friendly, and breakfast downstairs was very nice!
- Jacqueline (6/5): - It is a charming old place
- Cornelia (6/5): Location great, staff friendly, clean room, but pictures on website promised more. - Location was fantastic, close to attractions and waterfront. The pictures on the website did not reflect reality. Usually, proprietors take pride in their properties. Here it felt as if it was run just as a business, without pride. For example, at the sink, there was one bar of soap and 3 plastic cups (no soap dish). There was no holder for the toilet paper (broken remnants on the wall). In the closet there was a broken ironing board, some weird plastic cover on the floor and the decorative cover for the tissue box (which was depicted on the website). We were happy that we could open the window and didn't need the air conditioning unit (musky smell coming out of it). There was a broken air conditioning unit in the hallway throughout our stay.
The breakfast was made to order, but again not as pictured. The omelette was tasty enough but the supermarket bread out of a plastic sleeve not so much. No fresh fruit or other decorative additions as seen on the website. No other options were available such as cereal or extra toast (unlike in the partner inn, which we discovered when dropping off our keys).
That said, the staff was friendly and the accommodation was clean but overall for the price we paid and what we saw on the website, we expected something different.
- Denise (6/5): - We went there around 12,had to go find someone to check in ,then there was no A/C,he said he would put one in,we came back from lunch, still no A/C, I called the phone number and the girl said your on the list,I asked how long and she kept saying your on the list, not very nice, should have been in the window already. Then we went to go to their complimentary breakfast in the morning which you had to make a reservation, ours was at 8:30,we went at 8:00, told we could'nt eat until our time, the place only had one couple in there. Would not stay there again!
- sargentmom (6/5): Good location - Nice soft pillows and mattress. Good location. Breakfast cooked as ordered, good but add more choices. No cleaning of room during 4 nights. Could not get temperature right in our room. No a/c and heat control is for the whole floor. Parking available.
- David (10/5): - This a great location in Newport. It is such a walkable city and this location is VERY walkable for restaurants, sight-seeing and just exploring! A nice breakfast was included with our reservation and was made to order. No self-serve room with numerous chafing dishes of dried out scrambled eggs, super greasy bacon and toasters or waffle irons that you operate yourself.
Our bed was very comfortable and the room charming!
The staff is pleasant and very accommodating.
- David (10/5): - Rick was over the top nice at check in.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice breakfast and close to all. - The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was accommodating. It is a nice location where you can walk to the center of town and also walk to many restaurants and shops. I wish the windows could stay open, or you could control the temperature a little more. I would also love it if they could have coffee or even a few snacks out for lunch. I liked the location, but in other Bed and Breakfast places I've stayed in Newport, it was a nice touch to have an afternoon coffee and a snack.
- Bunny (8/5): Great St. Paddy’s Day Weekend - Thank goodness for a parking lot bc I was so nervous about parking on the street. The staff was fantastic.they were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Adorable little eating area. I never stayed in an inn before and was nervous about quality and cleanliness - I felt so safe relaxed and comfortable here.
Also it’s in the perfect location !!
You can walk to most anything. I can’t think of anything at all. It was charming, a bit rustic but the staff and everything else made up for whatever the Inn was lacking.
- maria (10/5): - the area is very convenient to shopping area ..no need to move your car..
- Kim (8/5): Lovely stay with friendly staff an delicious breakfast. - Quaint, close to shops and breakfast on sight Parking was tight
- Carmelo (8/5): it's ok - location no heat. / cold room
- Joseph (10/5): - Great place to stay!
- Ronnie (7/5): The location was great. - We were not given the right address where we need to go to the front office to check in. We couldn't find the entrees according to the address we were given. Luckily we asked some other people on the street and was told to try in a different building where we found the front office.
- Sherry (8/5): Very good - The owner has a few properties on the street and let us choose which room we wanted. We opted to stay across the street from the one pictured. It was built in 1706 🤯
You really can’t beat the location. It was an easy walk to Thames Street with all of the restaurants and shops. We also enjoyed walking the neighborhood and checking out the other older homes.
- Olivia (10/5): Our stay was great . The owner was very welcoming and always going out of the way to make our stay great. The breakfast - The property was beautiful and historic, a perfect location , a one minute walk to town
- Sherry (8/5): Enjoyable - Rick was very accommodating for me to get a ground floor so I had no steps!
- Corrin (6/5): - This was my first time at Admiral Farragut Inn. The location is prime and an easy stroll to Thames St.The manager, Rick was very nice and check-in was easy. I feel like the pictures of the rooms did not add up to what my room appeared to be. The room was clean without any issues. I was in the basement. There was no heat, but rather a Humidity machine. There was no fridge in my room, but an old fridge outside and it was very icky inside. I think for the price it was not worth it. I declined the breakfast because I didn’t feel the Inn was to my standard. I believe there are other properties owned by the owner so perhaps they may be better, but not the ones at 31 Clarke St.
- Robert (10/5): - We were extremely satisfied with our stay at the Farragut. The staff couldn’t be more helpful!! Everything we needed they were right there to accommodate us. I would highly recommend this B&B if you you just want to relax and the shopping was in walking distance. I give it a A
- Travis (10/5): What’s not to love about Newport?! The staff were super pleasant and fun to be around. They were more than accommodating - I’m a history buff so it was right up my alley. N/A
- Judy (8/5): Friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient location. - It was a good location. We were given a free upgrade, which I really appreciated. The breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and our host was so friendly. The Inn is dated and in need of renovations. Our bathroom definitely needed some repairs.
- Glenn (8/5): - Call so parking needs can be planned as parking is very limited. In addition, you must go during your breakfast appointed time as seating is also limited (12 seats). It's a historic house so there is original parts so you can't really compare it to a five star hotel, it is what it is and enjoy it. Location is great as it is two streets away from main street just above Brick Alley Resturant. Make reservations ahead for weekend dining. There is no elevator as we were able to carry to third floor our light luggage for two day stay. Shower was hot. House is not sound proof so sounds may be heard from your neighbor hint hint, so we brought a speaker for music. Room does have a tv, no refrigerator so don't have leftovers. Great location. Eat at White Horse and go for a sunset sail all close by.
- Johnson (9/5): Superb - Perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Very historical which we loved. Charming. Great breakfast included. The bathroom was very small, but I imagine it's because of the history of the room.
- Peter (10/5): This quaint propert lies in the heart of down town Newport but is quiet and historical with much more charm than the mor - Proprietor was very helpful getting us dinner reservations on a busy Saturday night! Great location with parking.
- Penny Griffin (10/5): - Our visit to Newport was amazing! We were able to see many of the sights suggested by the staff and enjoyed it all. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating to meet our needs and we would definitely recommend to others. The location was centrally located with perfect walking accessibility.
- Kathleen (10/5): - We loved our stay here! We’re already planning to come back.
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (8/5): Excellent for the price and location - Walking distance to everything Breakfast service was a little slow. We recommend that you order ahead and reserve a time when you will arrive to the dining room
- James (5/5): Overcharged - Location Too old- needs updating.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent, Convenient, well priced. - We went with Newport with friends and stayed in 2 different rooms at the Inns of Newport on Clarke Ave. Couldn't have been nicer. Great management and staff. Super convenient to downtown and every place we visited in our 3+ day stay. They include breakfast, both continental and full breakfast every day/. Just Perfect.
- eddie (10/5): - Good breakfast great shower everyone very friendly
- Laurie (1/5): NEVER AGAIN - We were asked to cancel our room by the Inn Keeper mere hours before our intended stay, when we insisted on going ahead with our plan to stay at the Inn or room was changed to "another property they owned close by". The other property was unsuitable for guests, missing light bulbs, mold in the bathroom, stains on most things, zero fire alarms or carbon detectors, the fixtures were on the walls but the lifesaving devices were missing!! This building was not marked and clearly not licensed by the city of Newport RI to be an Inn.
Absolute worst $440.00 I have ever spent, we left at 4am and never looked back. As a result of this experience I will never use Booking.com again..... Every single bit was bad from the rude Inn Keeper to the filthy dirty room that was unsafe to be in.
- Agata (10/5): I would recommend. - Great stuff, very good breakfast, perfect location.
- Jean (9/5): Superb - breakfast was great no toilet paper holder
- Susan (9/5): Excellent place to stay ! Highly recommend - Great location …excellent stuff and owner / manager A bit noisy
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, attentive staff, comfortable room, excellent value.
- Marlene (10/5): Exceptional! - Rick, the innkeeper, was above and beyond! Our room was full and he arranged for us to stay at another property, nearby, The Wynstone Inn bed and breakfast. One of the most beautiful historic homes in Newport. After greeting us and a visit, He had two very nice gentlemen that helped us with luggage and to our room. It was beautiful and a perfect location, just steps from historic downtown. Excellent communication and truly amazing and personal care for guests! Would highly recommend!
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful place and staff No omelettes!
- H298EHalmad (10/5): Historical hotel in great location would recommend to anyone - It’s in a great location, easy walking distance to a lot of downtown and the bay had a good stay there. People were friendly knowledgeable had the morning breakfast on one of the days I was there was able to get around easily to all the locations I wanted to see this to anyone.
- Alma (10/5): Historical stay in a great location - the locations was good and in great walking distance to the bay. Breakfast was also quite good it was hot and a good portion of the breakfast I would stay again everyone was helpful and knowledgeable... I did have to drive around a few times trying to find it as I did not see any signs of the name. Also there was a refrigerator but a small one would have been nice for the room to have a cold drink at midnight
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - Omlette was fantastic. Upgraded room for free
- Susan (9/5): We shall return! - I love history - and there is plenty of it in Newport, the old homes and inns - I just love it!
Breakfast was delish! Thank you I didn’t like that we had to leave!
- Richard (10/5): - It was everything my wife and I had been looking for, a perfect little getaway
- garrett (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Denise (10/5): - Very nice staff.
- Huntley (8/5): - Was great. Only negative note was the windows in the room were nailed shut and AC was not working. Was not a hot time of the year but the air in the room got a bit stuffy. This was particularly true after a shower as there was not bathroom exhaust fan.
- Joseph (8/5): - Clean room. Great breakfast. Good service. Parking is limited especially for large vehicles. Its a 200 year old building so as cool as that is, you must expect it not to be modern inside. It was close to everything to see in Newport so it worked well for me.
- Juliette (9/5): Superb -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Evis (6/5): - It was my first time at this hotel, perfect location, walking distance from the wharf and shopping area. However, the room conditions were far from what I expected. The staff was very nice and helpful.
- Amelia (10/5): - I had such a wonderful stay at this property. I was traveling alone for my birthday weekend. Room #9 was just perfect for me. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I slept well both nights I was there. Private, clean bathroom with a shower. (Shower area was a little small)
Lovely, made to order breakfast, each morning. Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Just perfect.
- John (10/5): - Staff was awesome
- Lynne (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Admiral Farragut Inn. It was a little difficult to find since there was no sign. Also, you have to check in at the Cleveland house next-door. That was not indicated anywhere when booking through Expedia. We ended up calling and it all worked out. The person who checked us in, was very helpful and nice and gave us the lay of the land. We had never been to Newport before and were only there for that one night. She gave us some restaurant recommendations that were a short walk away. Our room on the top floor was lovely. It was a nice king bed and a fairly large room with a skylight, pitched roof, and beams. There was also a nice bathroom, although the shower was a bit small, however, my husband and I are both big people. We ordered our breakfast at check-in for the following morning. It was very tasty. I had eggs, sausage and blueberry pancakes. The server offered orange juice to other tables but not to us. You help yourself to coffee, but all they had was regular, and I only drink decaf. They also only have caffeinated tea. it would’ve been nice to have herbal options. Check out is simple; you drop the key off in the basket in the house next-door. The location could not have been better. We were a block away from the historic Touro synagogue and the next block over from Thames Street, where all the shops and restaurants are along the water. We would definitely stay at the Admiral Farragut Inn again.
- Sue (10/5): Exceptional -
- sara (10/5): - We had a great time! The innkeepers were lovely and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and exactly what I wanted. The houses are historic and older, but that is the charm of the Newport BnB's. Walking distance to everything, very quiet neighborhood, easy access parking. We are definitely going back this summer.
- Christopher (10/5): As advertised - Everything was as advertised and things went great!!
- Maria (8/5): Sweet, accommodating and fairy tale stay. - Great location, clean, the manager was very attentive. Rooms were clean and very cute. Breakfast was good and the dinning area very cozy. The rags left all around the fireplace and on the rocking chair, possibly from containing a leak around the fireplace.
- Dinusha (6/5): - Comared to other Newport B&Bs we have been in, the facilities were a bit more rundown and amenities were basic. Breakfast was made on-site to order, but minimalist standard fare. We were suprised there was no fruit provided. Had to ask and was told only bananas available. On the plus side, bed was comfortable and inn was very convenient to the Thames street shops and dining.
- Anonymous (4/5): They own a bunch of properties and will try to upswell you to a more expensive room. No fridge in room. Have to walk a d - Beautiful building, great history. There was blood stains on the pillow case which was repulsive. They advertise the room as HAVING a fireplace, which they did, it was gas not wood, but for some reason turned it off and it didn’t work. They also gave me an unbelievably hard time about simply eating breakfast in the room and not in their stale dining area. They threatened to charge me if there were any stains from food on the linens. After the pillow case already had blood stains on it, which I obviously couldn’t even use. That was disgusting.
- ROBERT (10/5): Inns of Newport are a great option for downtown! - Online reservation process was straightforward. Rick and the staff were super-friendly and super-accommodating! Upgraded to a suite when we arrived for a reasonable rate, and it was very spacious and comfortable. They have tasty, simple breakfast items that were made to order. Each building has parking, but people who don't know how to park made it a challenge (holiday weekend) - it worked out though. Centrally located so you can walk to just about anything in Newport except the mansions. Highly recommend - would definitely stay again!
- Craig (10/5): Great trip to Newport - We had a really nice stay at the Admiral Farragut Inn. We were traveling with our newborn and the owner was able to move us to a room on the ground floor. Rooms were nice and location couldn't be better.
- RICHARD (10/5): - Everything was fantastic !! Off season is a great time to go to Newport !!
- Christopher (10/5): - Location could not be better. An Inn with plenty of charm. Great value and very clean. Not a place for anyone that is pretentious!
- kellysY4168JS (10/5): Makes Newport my home away from home - I’ve now been twice. Stayed both times at the Admiral Farragut Inn. Beautifully appointed room, luxury bed and linens, jacuzzi tub. My breakfast was delicious and made-to-order. The innkeeper is so charming and full of stories about Newport. So helpful in arranging whatever we wanted to do. I love the area…the street was where they filmed some of an episode of Gilded Age, in the Historic District full of Revolutionary War Era homes. On-site parking is a huge plus and walking distance!
- William (6/5): - Property is a little rough around the edges- like duct tape on things and some 20 year old scaffolding that needs to be removed. But staff was excellent and location is excellent with easy parking. Just needs some TLC.
- Dr. Tray (8/5): - Loved the room, staff an breakfast. Very difficult to locate even with GPS.
- John (10/5): - Everyone is very polite and helpful As well as excellent breakfast
