Guest Reviews
- Tran (1/5): Tệ - Quá đắt so vs chất lượng tệ Ko thích tất cả
- Shiela (3/5): Poor - The sheet wasn't clean, there are some hairs on the bedsheet makes me wonder if it was change to a new one or not. The sheet has stains too which is gross.
- Marco (5/5): Passable -
- Khairul (8/5): Very good -
- Jairus (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (9/5): An excellent place to stay in Singapore. Recommended! - We had a room upgrade and so were really pleased with the room in every aspect. Very good bathroom, A/C, desk, chair, refrigerator, kettle and shared facilities - including the comfy reception room where one can await check in. Good location. I can hardly find fault - except the address is very misleading. The entrance to the hotel is NOT on McKenzie Rd but about 25m down Niven Rd. This info would have saved us 5 minutes!
- Suresh (1/5): Bad - Very bad service Not suggesting
- Chelsea (6/5): Okay, room is fine if you just need somewhere to sleep. - The staff were helpful and check in was relatively easy The rooms are in need of some TLC. Some of the furniture has seen better days and needs replacement
- Mark (3/5): Poor - Had to email to say mouldy smell in bathroom due to extractor not working. Cleaning came in and just sprayed but the smell returned Had to ask for clean towels has couldn't dry ours with damp bathroom. I Was appalled at stains on pillows which had no pillow protectors on.
- Monish (1/5): Bad -
- Aaron (7/5): It was quite a relaxing and rejuvenating stay to help to recharge myself. - Overall, it was an enjoyable and pleasant stay at dashing living at Mackenzie. It provides me with comfy, cozy and peaceful accommodation to take a sabbatical break from the hectic work. The reasonable price point and tranquility of the environment were the main reasons for choosing it as my ideal staycation option. I hope the hotel management will review their policy and consider providing dispensable liquid hand soap as part of their toiletry package. Apart from meeting the needs and demands of the guest , I think personal hygiene of the guest should be of paramount importance. To protect and defend ourselves from any infectious strains of virus or other contagious diseases, such a the previous Covid-19 pandemics and the present M-pox virus which we never know if it may affect us in the near foreseeable future.
- Blane (7/5): Good -
- I.m.o.m. (7/5): All over a good place to stay in Singapore - Nice little hotel across Little India. No staff around, online check-in/out
- Elias (4/5): Not happy I am contacting Booking.Com - Location I arrived I had no cable for the tvthe water pressure in the shower very bad
- David (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing The lack of staff presence and poor quality of furnishings for the room rate
- Redwanr (7/5): Great value and good stay! - The convenience and facilities. The washing machine, dryer and pantry were very nice. The cleanliness can be improved and more thorough
- Wan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant -
- Deandra (7/5): Fine - Close to the public transports, overall okay for a short stay where we were out pretty much all day The bed was a bit damp and headboard was dirty, hairdryer was provided but didnt work
- Iida (7/5): Great location and rooftop terrace but moist room - The rooftop terrace is very comfortable and the location is perfectly quiet but close to metro and many restaurants. Room had musty smell and even with proper AC, it didn’t help with the moist in the room.
- Marianne (8/5): Perfect long stay location for super ex SG - Excellent location, only 2 min walk from Little India MRT(exit A). Basically 15-20 min commute to central areas in SG. Room was clean and comfy, excellent bedding and aircon. Rooftop terrace was nice to unwind at night. The cafe, Old Chang Kee, just opposite the hotel provided great local food. I stayed for 14 nights, and found it really value for money, unbeatable price point. The person in charge of cleaning the rooms, Mr Liang, was wonderful- so friendly and accommodating. Room was humid after showers. Have to leave aircon on at full blast to get rid of humidity. Musty smell.
- Yun (8/5): Very good -
- Nick (8/5): Very good - Clean Hotel & good value for money Everything was fine
- Athanasios (5/5): Passable - Location No window
Very small bathroom
No staff - check in via video call
TV - no Connection
- Muntazir (1/5): Worst Experience of My Life!!! - I am a frequent traveller and this has been THE WORST hotel and experience I have had. I demand a FULL REFUND of this booking and also BOOKING.COM should remove such hotels from their website. There is nothing likeable about this hotel...NOTHING! From finding the hotel to the cold sweats and jail like rooms - this hotel is a mess.
- Following hotel location, you will end at a smelly restaurant and its still about 50 steps away
- Its spooky at the reception as they are going to a non-human approach, feels v less secured
- corridors are thing, seemingly to maximize the space utility
- the room - ever seen horror movies? white rooms, white bed, white everything, nothing on the walls - a single bed with space to walk and thats it!!! its like a jail cell or a psycho ward where patients are kept/quarantinne
Here is the worst part ... I felt palpertition, cold sweats, anxiety, nausea ... in such a closed, lockup, jailed environment ... kindly requested them to change to a room with a window as I was losing it ...
A frequent traveller - whose travelled several times every year since past 30 years ... first time, felt that I am losing out ... they had no care or concern and kept delaying it ... ultimately I had to walk out and take a breath ... for hours, they didnt do anything and ultimately I booked another hotel and left.
I humbly request a refund of my booking amount for the least ...
And Booking.com should remove just jail-cell units immediately!
- Karen (6/5): Not vad. If they changed a few things the place could be better. - Even though there was a construction site just around the corner, it was not noisy.
The air conditioning and wifi worked well.
There were a few utensilies and amenities that helped me to improvise a meal. Even though there was staff around, there was no room service (as in anyone to change the towels that don't really dry in the room ,or wipe the bathroom that gets quite wet).
Check-in, check-out and "reception" is done via an ipad and ongoing video call, this was not a problem but it would feel more friendly if they turned their camera on.
- Gren (10/5): Exceptional - I left my LV bag opened with all my important docs and money in the lobby for many hours , we slept , and thank goodness all of my valuables is still there .. thank you so much . This place is very safe . The location is bit far by walk from metro
- Perrine (8/5): Very good -
- Lynn (8/5): The hotel comes highly recommended, especially for its convenient location near Little India MRT station making it an ex - The hotel's location near Little India MRT station is a major plus, making it convenient for transportation. Additionally, its proximity to attractions like Haji Lane and Bugis offers guests the opportunity for enjoyable walking trips. Overall, it seems like a great choice for those wanting easy access to both transportation and local sights. They couldn't accommodate early check ins.
- Güliz (7/5): Good -
- Noraini (6/5): Pleasant - The air conditioner so good. But not provide remote tv.
- Ma. (9/5): For the price we got, very good than staying in bunk hostel with shared bathroom. The social area is our favorite of al - The social area. Facilities are provided to have a home cooked food Limited toiletries
- Vanessa (5/5): Passable - It was within walking distance from several stations. The whole check-in / check-out process was done remotely so there really wasn't a 'lobby' or staff to really help you. Several things were not clear when I made the booking such as: the amount of toiletries provided (two tiny tiny bottles of shampoo and soap meant to last more like 1 day instead of a week), the replacement of clean towels (one towel for one week or you're expected to wash it yourself), if you even want to use the laundry room then you also have to go find your own detergent.
- Subhana (8/5): Very good -
- Anupong (7/5): All good except bathroom. - Easy access to MRT and Bus stop Bathroom should have some ventilation and need to improve on cleanliness.
- Lesley (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was comfy and good aircon Very small and personally didn't like an iPad checking me in instead of a person
- Xiang (10/5): Nice Hotel, Not Far Away From MRT - Not far away from metro station. You can cook by yourself if you do not want to eat outside. Nothing
- Rac (8/5): Excellent choice of Location. - We only stayed for a night before we can move to a bigger space. However, if you are travelling alone, this is definitely your stay. I have only positive things to say. Value for money. Perfect Location. We were travelling in group that's why the space does not suit.
However, travelling alone will work. Also, the signage is not visible to point us to the correct entrance, however a little help from the neighbourhood helped.
- Katherina (9/5): Decent, would stay again. - Nice location, facilities were clean. The “e-reception” concept is not as convenient for a traveling, tired guest.
- Izzuddin (9/5): Superb -
- Aisyah (7/5): Good -
- Muhammad (8/5): Very good -
- Shannon (7/5): Good -
- Darlene (6/5): Pleasant - Good restaurants nearby. Staff were attentive Bathroom
- Doug (8/5): Very good - Room was compact but comfortable.
Location was excellent.
Good value for money. You have to check in using an I Pad at reception. Torturous and slow.
- Kristina (7/5): Good - Rooms looks like in photos, everyrhing as described. Easy check-in, check-out process.
- Cirayuk (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (8/5): Fair and decent stay. Great location, not too loud because it is a block away from the main road. Overall we had a great - Very convenient location. Just across Little India and few steps away from Little India MRT station, Rocher bus station and Selegie Ctr bus station. I also love to the common area where our family could lounge. There is also a good restaurant down below where food is relatively cheap and people was kind. Our family ate there everyday during our whole stay. The check-in process was also seamless even though there was no actual staff in the floor. They only one set of pillow, no foot rugs so our floor to the bathroom was wet and no cleaning during our 5 day stay.
- Cheok (6/5): Pleasant - Nothing Room quite small and not many eatery place nearby
- Josefina (2/5): Avoid - Wifi, mattress and AC was fine. But didn’t worse the stay. Check in is “online” you have to talk to an iPad but you don’t see the other person that was fine but still
Bathroom disgusting, mould everywhere and smell really bad from the moment you opened the door, the cozy room had no ventilation neither a bathroom fan for humidity.
Towels need an upgrade, they seemed to be used for years.
I thought that bad comments was extremely and exaggerated but unfortunately I had to prove it by myself.
Do not recommend
- Doh (4/5): Disappointing - The location is close to the station and good, but there are no other advantages The beds were soggy and there was a lot of mold in the bathroom. There was a lot of dust in the room, so I coughed every morning and there was a lot of rust in the water. And the door lock card key broke down, so I had to get a physical key and use it. The air conditioner was cool, but the room was too humid. And I had to apply for cleaning once a week to clean it. But even that was not done properly.
- Hidayat (5/5): Not worth to be in booking.com - None The room is too small
- Mahmoud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tsung-ta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vinosyah (8/5): Very good -
- Janice (7/5): It was okay - - Had a nice rooftop hangout area
- close to Little India - Room was a bit dirty
- 何 (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gary (3/5): Good location, poorly designed rooms. There are better options for the price. - The location was good, very close to the Little India station and many of the main bus lines.
- The air-conditioning was cold. The room was damp and had a musty odor. This is due to the design of the room which places the bathroom as part of the small room with no windows or ventilation.
- The bathroom was small and a bit dirty with a aftermarket water heater which only delivered somewhat warm water.
- The air-conditioning had the please clean warning showing and was dirty.
- When we arrived the sheets were dirty but the staff were willing to change them for us.
- having no staff on site definitely places a large delay on any requests you may have
- Mahmoud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lim (4/5): Disappointing -
- Yosef (9/5): Superb -
- Iynky (7/5): Good -
- Chan (2/5): Unbelievable bad experience - Toiletries are not replenished unless stay above 1 wk. This is the first time I have such encounter. No refreshments of coffee or tea provided.
- Parminder (7/5): Good -
- Igor (6/5): Pleasant - Location next to little india, hotel terace Almost transparent wall of toilet and shower, small room
- Clara (6/5): Good value for money - The location in the city was amazing! Close to bus stations, near Tekka center
The wifi was working well. We had hair dryer in the room.
We had our room cleaned only once in our 8 days stay, which was decent.
A reasonably priced, compact room in a city where hotels tend to be on the expensive side. The bathroom sink was constantly leaking and the shower was clogging when used
We had some mold on the ceiling, near the AC unit
- Iqbal (5/5): Passable - good location Room very small , TV channel not available
- Rdh25 (1/5): Bad - Nothing good about this property at all. Avoid. Rooms small, no window in room. It was worse than student accommodation. Horrible place.
- Tiasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Honi (6/5): Overall good stay after things got sorted out. - Room with bath tub (though on the small side) was near the lift and not next door to another. Washing machine and tumble dryer (extra payment though) and use of iron with ironing board. Also roof top, though needs upgrading. No physical person to liaise with on premises for check in or issues. Uncleaned air-con which gave me headaches and; sink stopper gets stuck; constant leaking under the sink and room never got vacuumed once during my 12 days stay. No local channels to watch TV.
- Anna (6/5): Not cheap and not cheerful, but ok - Location It was very basic and for such not cheap, but maybe it is goog for Singapore
- Markedwardwilliams (8/5): A great budget choice for independent-minded travellers who don't need onsite b'fast & restaurants - Reasonable small-sized room for the price in this city where hotels are very, every expensive.
Great to have the 'social floor' with microwave, bench-top toaster, induction grill, outdoor rooftop tables, and washing machine and driver.
Close to Exit A of the Little India MRT (subway) system - although this exit is a remote exit and there is still a considerable walk in the underground station to get to the platform. Good exercise. Booking.com's messaging system with this property was infiltrated by phishing messages prior to my arrival, which tried to entice me to click on an external link to fill in an external form with my details again, including re-entering my debit card. This message appeared to be from the property and was signed off by the property. Thankfully I was suspicious and contacted Booking.com. Booking.com was apologetic. Be on alert to receiving any message within the Booking.com system asking you to click on a link to an external form to provide your details AGAIN outside the Booking.com system, as it is likely to be fraudulent.
Check-in at the hotel is on the 5th floor, via live communication with a remote person by Ipad, using a camera and voice. A little strange experience. Given they have staff on-site during normal business hours and into the evening, this was a bit strange that they have not returned to in-person checkin.
No tea and coffee provided to guests in the rooms or common area; just a kettle in the room. Some coffee sachets and tea bags would have been nice, especially for those staying for a longer period like I was.
The rooms are not cleaned during the duration of the guests' stay; cleaning only occurs on checkout. Again for someone staying for 8 days like me, this meant my room, bins and towel got dirty, and the toilet paper ran out. The hotel should consider cleaning the rooms every 3 days or so if a guest is staying for 3 days or longer.
- Krzysztof (8/5): Fine for short stay - close to metro station, wifi works, clean and quiet, comfortble beds, staff is available when you need them, good price looks a bit worse than in photos (especially our bathroom), but still fine
small room, but it wasn't an issue
- Aleksandra (10/5): All you need for a quick sightseeing stay - Great value for money. Very good location, super close to the transport, city center and good hawker centre is nearby. The staff is very nice. They were reacting to our needs immediately.
- Mihai (8/5): Very good -
- Sreejith (9/5): Superb -
- Georgina (8/5): Very good -
- Ashan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Khawm (7/5): Good -
- Nilesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (8/5): Very good - 2 min to metro station of Little india, possible to smoke on rooftop, kitchen and facilities to take breakfast and other meals The room for 3 were very small
- Nilesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iynky (6/5): Pleasant - location / flexibility small rooms
- Ahmed (6/5): Need to improve customer service - Location was good, near to lack transport, quiet place There was no front desk or human interaction, this is annoying when you go to a new place after long journey. Customer service is poor…
- Nieva (8/5): Very good -
- Iqtidar (5/5): Good. - Cleanliness.
Location. Property does not have tissue.
- Sonja (6/5): Excellent location, hotel with some short comings, but suited us for short stay. - Stayed at Dash living @ Rochor for 2 nights.
Room 205 had spacious comfortable clean bed, thank you, but space between bed and walls very limited (30 cm each side) which was ok for me.
Openable window in this room, thank you.
Safe in working order, thank you. Carpet old, stained, worn and dirty looking.
Very noisy, window facing the road, people talking loudly till 4 am until I asked them to stop (I know, not the issue of the hotel).
Communication with staff when needed, only with Watsapp, which I don’t have.
- Wei (1/5): Bad -
- Mas (5/5): Passable -
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Chalermporn (9/5): It’s ok for location but maybe difficult for anyone who isn’t get use to self checkin through tablet. - Bed, air con, location Self check in
- Vendrista (7/5): Good - close to public transportation, 5 minutes walk to mrt st
- Tess (9/5): Loved the hawker type restaurant next door, highly recommend! - Very well appointed, great facilities, friendly, helpful staff
- Kateryna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (7/5): Good - It was a perfect location and good value for money It was all self serve so getting out and down the elevator with no card for the final exit was difficult.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Good location. Comfy beds, cosy room. Nice rooftop.
- Feng (8/5): Everything you need for a short term stay, just the size is a little small - Check in and check out was via a telecom, but it was super quick and smooth. There is a washer and dryer but they are $5 each. They have a changing machine if you don’t have coins The rooms are small
- Fhe (8/5): The place is clean, safe and for a short stay that all you need is bed and bathroom the place is good enough - Accessibility to nearby establishment and transpo No personal staff available to answer our querries
- Jryun (1/5): The worst ever. Over priced. - There’s a public space for rest The staff doesn’t want to help at all, they asked me to send my request to booking.com but booking.com asked me to send it to the property. In the end I could even stay in the hotel. Bad bad experience.
- Jryun (1/5): Very uncomfortable - There was a kettle The door to the bathroom was broken, and the room was super humid.
