- Mary (10/5): - Super nice people. Felt very comfortable and safe. Perfect location for shopping. Definitely will stay here again. The coffee shop on site was a great bonus
- Luis (10/5): -
- Salvador (8/5): - Good service
- Francisco (5/5): Passable -
- Javier (4/5): - Over price,the area isn’t that good,the promises are very limited,no swimming pool,no continental breakfast,this place shouldn’t charge more than $30.00 dollars the night.
- Brigitte (8/5): Very good -

- MARIO (10/5): - exellent place to stay
- Alfredo (4/5): - They had dogs playing around the property, they need to quiet the place. Rooms are clean but they need more restrictions.
- Ann (10/5): - We love this cute little motel close to the artisan market in Tonala
- Adrian (10/5): - Everything was excellent even the parking
- Jonathan (10/5): Great Hotel in Tonala - Great location with clean room. Very nice staff and friendly dogs. Excellent coffee options at the shop. Best choice in Tonala.
- Brigitte (10/5): - Nice little hotel with friendly people. Close to the Tianguis and a lot of stores and Restaurants. We would go back again
- Penelope (8/5): - Muy buen servicio
- Peter (2/5): - The roof was leaking and they had lots of cats everywhere . I did not like that
- Ernesto (8/5): Tonala Central - Nice little spot right off the main street. With a nice coffee spot on the property. Only issue was the AC unit didn't relay cool the air. I would stay again.
- morgan (4/5): - This property didn’t look like the pictures. It was basic at best but clean. The neighborhood closed down before dark — including all but 1 restaurant. A telling feature. Would I stay here again? No. For the reasons above as well as because the front desk charged me more than the Expedia rate. I could get a 100x better hotel in a different neighborhood for the same price. If you want to go to tonola go during the day only. There are actually much better places to shop in Guad.
- Juan (10/5): - Nice place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked everything ! The attention, the restaurant, the location, etc
- Laura (10/5): - Very nice staff...the room clean and quiet. The market is close and the bus station too. I like the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & Friendly - Basic Hotel in a great location in Tonala. Very friendly and helpful staff. Secure parking. My go to stop when shopping.
- IVAN (6/5): Only fair hotel - While our stay here was not terrible the recpetion staff was not very welcoming, no parking available (told it was for people staying longer only so we had to park out on the busy street) we had a shower that wouldnt drain or run hot water and the beds were quite uncomfortable. The property has a lot of promise to it but friendlier staff and maintenance are needed. While are stay was not awful we would look elsewhere in our next visit to Tonala.
- Camille (10/5): Nice hotel - Very nice place for the price. We were only in need of a place to sleep and shower for the days we were there and got alot more out of our room. It was clean, people were very nice and we were comfortable. The added bonus was the coffee shop! For us the price, location, and comfort was great!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was perfect for me,in general was excellent.
- Silvia (10/5): - The whole staff has a positive attitude. They make a stay pleasant and relaxing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The service was great the staff was exceptional. The cleaniliness was super
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location for the market - Basic no frills hotel. That being said, the location to the market and the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff make up for the lack of amenities. There is a coffee shop located there as a bonus.
- Mary Lou (8/5): - Good stay for my one evening stay
- Carol (10/5): Fun Stay - Wonderful time shopping. Sunday market day was challenging but fruitful. Hotel Arana is a great location for visiting all the local artisan shops.
The hotel rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Great shower pressure. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Now has a lobby entrance to a cafe. For us, a huge bonus is being able to park our car outside our hotel room door. The drive around is private and gated. Our second stay there.
A small fridge would be perfect! Also, bottled water and coffee maker as compared to other hotels in Tonala, this one is not "cheap"
Very good WiFi
- Charlie (8/5): - Everything is good, they give you clean sheets everyday, lock down after 10 pm, but they at your service when you need to go out...it’s a hood thing cause just not anyone can go inside property.. cats are always F*** ing outside but it’s normal.. the only thing missing is that they upgrade the TVs, they have like this 13” box TVs.. it would be nice if they had flat screens 😎, other than that it’s a nice clean place to stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - GreAt clean place to stay, close to everything
Would stay again
- Verified traveler (10/5): Simple but clean accommodation for a short stay - this property is in a good location for me and I will use it again.
- Bryce (8/5): Tonala. - Good Hotel. Very friendly and understanding. Main Street under construction. Hard to navigate to. A little noisy.
- Ann (8/5): Convenient for shopping on Tonala - Nice family run hotel in the heart of Tonalá’s shopping district. Clean rooms and friendly staff! If you are in Tonalá for the shopping, you can’t beat this hotel.
- Rocio (2/5): - Worst stay ever
- Magda (8/5): Very nice budget hotel - We felt very welcome it is nice to be in a hotel run by family members although they were renovating to make it more efficient for the clients they are building a restaurant and a new reception office did not affect us.
- Grace (10/5): A good safe hotel for the price - It is a good small hotel to stay if you have to go to the airport. Owners are friendly and welcoming. It is also a safe place for you and your vehicle. The walls in the room can use an upgrade, but overall it's a good hotel.
- David (10/5): VERY VERY HAPPY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF - We loved the location and off the street front door parking and especially the friendly staff! They even have a fully equipped rotunda where you can cook anything you want and make morning coffee. Two beautiful cats add to the ambience
Restaurants close by and all our favourite artisan stores.
Our first visit to this little hotel and we will definitely be back.
- Verified traveler (6/5): A cost effective motel - I booked this hotel for one night so that I could avoid the city traffic in the morning on my way to the airport. I was in Room 1 which was clean with a comfortable bed. The hotel is old but they have made an effort to maintain it. There are some interesting ceramics in the courtyard area which is nice and has comfortable seating. There is a shared dining room/kitchen area that is well-equipped and would be useful if you wanted to cook.
There were a couple of problems: wifi only worked in one corner of my room and the signal was very weak. The common areas of the hotel did not have functioning wifi either which was frustrating when trying to check on flights, get an uber, etc. One of the windows in Room 1 has old-fashioned glass shutters which do not close well. The sounds from the car park and courtyard were very loud and it was very noisy in my room. Another guest had parked their car directly outside my room which meant that when they were banging the car doors, talking and starting their engine, it was impossible to sleep. Their car was also blocking the footpath which made moving my heavy bags into my room very difficult. This could be easily solved if management: a) assigned the car parks more carefully and b) replaced the glass shutters with a solid pane of glass like the other window in the room has.
As other reviewers have noted, if you arrive late at night, the only option for food is the 7-11.
- William (6/5): tonala - Great value for the money. Close to market, close to three cafes, no coffee in room, no phone in room, one block away from 7-11. Clean, great staff, HARD BEDS!
- steven (8/5): A nice little place. Spartan but cozy. A Bargain. - The hotel is small but in a peaceful area. It is a nice little courtyard place with some good restaurants around the corner. When you walk out the front door you are 100 feet from the artesania for which the area is famous. You can park indoor by your room, though we did not. We stay here because it is close to the airport without being so close you cannot sleep for the freeway noise. I could see a group of friends renting the whole place for a fun get-together if they are really into the whole Mexican handcraft thing. And for the price - unbeatable.
- couple (4/5): Clean room, enough to spend the night. - Close to central autobuses and furniture district.
