Guest Reviews
- Vit (8/5): - A comfortable hotel - though hardly a 4-star - with a lovely restaurant and good service. However, no hot water to shower in the morning :(
- Richard (10/5): Awesome place to stay - I always have a fantastic stay here, the staff are always welcoming and accommodating. Hi look forward to many more nights here.
- Omar (8/5): - excellent hotel with all needs for short stay. Employees were very helpfull.
- Salim (10/5): Good one - All fine
- Frank (10/5): Prettig hotel - Prettig hotel, aardige mensen
- Apoorva (10/5): Excellent service - Lovely hotel, staff was very friendly. Rooms were big and very clean. Walking distance to the train station.
- inbaldrukker (10/5): We highly recommend the Half Board (breakfast & dinner included) - Our party of 7 people, 4 adults and 3 children, stayed here for 5 nights (Half Board) and enjoyed the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the delicious meals, the beautiful location of the hotel and proximity to two national parks, and the friendliness and politeness of the service, the option of renting bikes, top value!
- 255joyced (8/5): Sweet but not a suite. - We loved our stay here in Deurne at Plein 5. This hotel is very centrally located. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Deurne is a very cute tiny town with mostly smaller stores and restaurants. I would love to come back when corona is behind us.
We booked the ‘Japan theme suite’ for one night to escape from kids and every day slump. You can make a reservation that includes dinner and breakfast in the room as long as corona has a hold on the country. Especially dinner was excellent. We loved it.
Just to make sure we do do some expectation management: the suite was a nice room approx 4.00x4.00 with a queen bed and a small tv. There is no separate sitting area so the title ‘suite’ is highly debatable. ‘Deluxe’ room would have been more fitting I think. I must say that hotel management dealt with our surprise at the ‘suite’ size wonderfully. Thank you. How to deal with complaints, however small, is a sign of a great hotel.
We also loved the very snuggly bath robes.
I would though, if I may, like to recommend to actually put some effort into making the room feel more like Japan. An Indonesian Buddha doesn’t work well. Also, At the local pillow store, right around the corner, I saw some beautiful pillows with a Japanese crane (bird) on it. Perhaps a picture of some blossom trees would work better than a bunch of sticks in a pot. All easy and not very costly additions to make the room feel more like Japan.
- Willi (8/5): Super Lage, schöner Platz - Nettes freundliches unkompliziertes Personal. Gutes Essen. Frühstück etwas zu teuer. (Keine Möglichkeit nur wenig zu bekommen).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Goed was de lunch die we hebben genoten.
De bedden zijn heerlijk.
Alles is goed schoon.
Klart Deurnes bedste sted.
- Martin (8/5): - Super Zentral, Ruhige Lage, Moderne Ausstattung, Sehr gutes Restaurant und Frühstück, Parkmöglichkeiten vorhanden
- chipalkatti (10/5): Beautiful Hotel in the heart of Deurne - Absolutely fantastic place to stay in Deurne, so don't miss this. During the fall, when I visited, there was always some action around the hotel and it has a nice quiet charm to it. The staff is great and the breakfast was good too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Mooi modern hotel in het centrum van Deurne. Uitstekende service. Mooie moderne kamer.
- 140elenak (10/5): I like this place - Central location, short distance from train station. Amazing place for dinner, big restaurant, when you can get good food and drinks, but rooms are nice and relaxing. No noise from outside. Clean, simple. Highly recommend. I like this place.
- Alcandave (10/5): This IS the place you want to stay in Deurne - This hotel is in the perfect location and the bilingual staff (Dutch & English) were always very welcoming. Compared to the costs for the rest of our trip through Europe, this was by far the best value for the money. The food was great and the staff is incredible. Oh, after having to haul a family of 4's luggage up and down countless flights of narrow stairs everywhere else on our trip, having an elevator at Plein Vijf was an awesome site. Private, secured parking was a huge bonus and a great value too. When my travels bring me back to Deurne, this is where I will stay. I don't write very many reviews, but knew I wanted to share my experience at Plein Vijf. You won't be disappointed.
- erjae2015 (8/5): Three good nights - I slept three wery good nights in this small hotel. Staff was friendly and they spoke good english. I think almost everyone in the Netherlands does. Just a guess, but that’s how it feels.
Bed was so comfy and I had plenty of pillows in my use. The duvet was warm, too. The room had AC, and it really worked well. You can adjust iyåt to your taste very easily.
The breakfast was good, they had enough choice to my taste. Even fresh mint leaves to my tea. So nice!
Oh, I almost forgot. They had left me a hand written welcome note in my room before
I entered. And all my collaegues had their notes, too. So nice and personal touch!
- Lars-Bo (10/5): - Hyggeligt lille hotel med god central beliggenhed.
- gillesgh84 (8/5): Great boutique hotel in a great location - I only stayed one night in this hotel, but i could straight away feel the charm of this hotel. The rooms are small, clean and functional. The only criticism i would have, and maybe only in my room, the toilet was split in 2, shower and sink in one room and the rest in an other. was a small inconvenience nothing more.
Placed in the middle of the town centre, surrounded by bars and restaurants. We were even able to get a dinner at 1030pm on a Sunday night. Breakfast was more then adequate, and we had great weather, so sat outside and had a very nice coffee trotoire feel to the place, watching the small town wake up
- CharlesRemington (6/5): Minimalistic hotel but clean - The rooms are not fancy but they are clean. The room came with two single beds, a small desk, but no chair for the desk. The hotel is in the middle of a small town with lots of restaurants and shops. The breakfast was great.
- Olaf (8/5): Fancy, nice boutique Hotel - Nice small boutique Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, I the City Center of Deurne, small but good beds and at all a fancy establishment. Room was clean
- KAREN (10/5): - It was great
- MarcelW841 (10/5): Love this place - Nice place on the square with pleasant places to drink and eat.
Soundproofing is excellent and rooms have air conditioning, which is nice in the Summer. Compact and pleasant rooms. People were really friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice business hotel - It's in the middle of Deurne, but not quite walking distance from the train station. They have a small parking lot in the back, but they will gladly call a taxi for you.
The restaurant has notoriously slow service. The food is good, but the service from the wait staff is mind boggling slow (they're understaffed, I believe).
- DanielaC779 (8/5): Nice Hotel - I had a business trip in Deurne and I've stood there for few nights. Good breakfast, clean rooms, friendly stuff and very good location in the middle of the city.
Good to be there and If ever I should come once again, I'll definitely stay there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel - Great place to stay right in the center of town. Lots of dining and shopping nearby. Easy parking.
- aho3 (8/5): Nice for a night stay - I'm here right now will spend the night in.
First time for me to visit, seems modern and clean.
Staff fast and helpful professional in welcoming a guest.
Rooms are well designed and furnished with fresh new style looking good and not too tired as sometimes you find in hotels.
I would recome
- Jules (10/5): One night in Deurne - Stayed for one night.Nice room, comfortable beds, nice size bathroom with seperate toilet.Very Small television.Had a adequate breakfast but a little expensive.
- John528791 (6/5): Nice Hotel - This is a very nice hotel. Like other reviews I am not sure it is 4 star. The staff were OK, the barman was excellent but the check in lady was a bit cold. The room was very comfortable and Deurne is a really nice town. On check out I was disappointed that there was a car parking charge for residents. Was wondering if there would be a pillow tax or chair rental as well!
- Yorkshire1245 (8/5): Perfect - A regular place for me when I'm in the area every five years or so.
Nice clean room with excellent hot and powerful shower and good free wifi.
Breakfast more than enough and super lively bar in evenings.
Staff very friendly and pricing very reasonable.
- PaulSanderella (8/5): Comfortable bed, pleasant room, very friendly staff - The bed is really comfortable, the room is modern decorated with a luxury bathroom and separate toilet. The room was extremely clean. People are very friendly. We had a five course diner which was value for the money. Free parking only 30 meters away. We enjoyed the red walk on the nature reserve "De Stippelberg" nearby very much.
- pvanberlo (8/5): Excellent lunch! - Went to Plein Vijf together with my wife and her parents after a long winter walk. We had a very nice lunch and staff was very friendly. I would certainly recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the hotel.
- EwoutW (8/5): Just great - We stayed her for 2 nights with breakfast and had a 3 course surprise diner with it. The room was clean, comfortable and enough space for us. The bathroom is separated from the toilet, which is nice. The breakfast has everything you need; bread, bacon & eggs, yogurt, etc. The temperature of the warm food could be better though.
Deurne itself isn't that interesting. A couple of nice buildings and a few shops. Venlo, Eindhoven are nearby. A trip to Maastricht is also one of the possibilities.
When traveling by car, I can recommend you visit Griendtsveen.
- HFP52 (10/5): Second visit and not disappointed! - We stayed here on whilst on business in Duerne, and was our second visit.
The hotel is great and is in a perfect location in the centre of the town.
We could not fault anything at all during our stay. Extremely comfortable beds. Everything very clean and fresh. There is very nice bar, with a lot of comfortable outside seating. We ate at the hotel on two occasions, and food was delicious and well prepared and presented. Breakfast also very good. A bonus is the fact that the internet access is free. That is rare these days, as there is usually a charge, which can be a real irritant, and quite costly too when relying on internet access for business purposes. A particular mention should go the the reception staff, who make you feel very welcome and will go out of their way to assist. However, all the staff were friendly and efficient. We will be going to Duerne on business many times in the coming months, and we will most certainly stay here. It is not a large hotel, but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in quality. In summary, a very enjoyable stay!
- HFP52 (10/5): Smashing Hotel - We stayed at the Plein Vijf whilst on business in Deurne, and have to say that we were most impressed by this hotel. Yes, it's small, but really nice! This was an unexpected last minute booking so did not know what to expect. We need not have worried... The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of town. Free parking. The staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient.
The receptionist was lovely. Always had a smile for you. We needed an adaptor plug after leaving ours behind. This didn't prove a problem for her and she went out of her way to find one for us, and we were able to borrow this until we left.
Our room was large. Simple but very tasteful modern decor. Lovely wooden floors.
Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied. Free internet.
Flat screen TV. There was a desk and a couple of chairs. Mini Bar. Safe.
Bathroom spotlessly clean with a fabulous shower.
The bed was super king size and so very comfortable that I had the best sleep in a long time.
We decided to eat at the hotel and have to say that our meal was delicious, and well prepared and presented.
Breakfast the following day was also very nice, and plentiful - all very fresh.
We wanted to stay another day here as we liked it so much, but unfortunately they were fully booked, which was a shame.
We may be visiting Deurne a few times again over the next year or so, and we will have no hesitation in booking this small but very nice hotel. It may not be to everyone's taste, but for us it was just great.
- Robin2008 (8/5): Recommended. - I had two nights in Deurne and was genuinely pleased with the Plein Vijf - the room was very clean and comfortable, had a nice bathroom and offered a great location in the centre of town.
The hotel bar was really nice and there is a great Italian restaurant directly opposite the Plein Vijf where I had a fantastic sea-bass.
- Riemst (6/5): Good, but not 4 stars. - It was nice, clean but small! The restaurant downstairs didn't manage to impress us, check out the italian restaurant next door though - looked and smelled fantastic! Fully booked the whole week-end!
