Guest Reviews
- Daniel (8/5): - Beds were a little rough and it got quite hot in the summer not having AC. But very close to the Tim Hortons, grocer, alternative restaurants outside the village and very clean area.
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent place.
- Kit (10/5): - There are more than enough cooking equipments which is very thoughtful and generous. Layout of the condo is pretty handy.
- Ben (8/5): - Location! Location! Location! The lagoons are right across from main street which is awesome for easy access to the market, liquor store and olympic plaza. As a father of 3 young kids, it's super convenient to be able to walk everywhere and not have to be in and out of the car.
The unit is a little older though but not a deal breaker at all as a trade off to location. Great and easy communication with management as well.
- David (6/5): - This is not a hotel and there is no front desk. Property is dated but reasonably well maintained. Furniture and beds are old. TV is way too small and very cheap. An overall average room for the price. Price is affordable but you get what you pay for. A small investment in a decent sized TV would have made a big difference. Not complaining but nothing special with this property.
- Robert (10/5): Great trip - Everything was great but the Garbinator didn’t work so you know to fix.
- David (4/5): - Stayed at many of the Lagoons. This one was the worst out of 4 others I have stayed in. No hot tub most do. Also the outdoor deck chairs are gross and extremely weathered. Plumbing in bathrooms is coming out of wall. The lagoons is nice and great location. But this unit should be taken off the market or the cost CONSIDERABLY dropped.
- Richard (10/5): - Great location, large, comfortable space within easy walking distance of all major Whistler attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Everything is excellent except there was no hot water at one night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well equipped kitchen. Overall clean. One duvet cover had some small blood stains. No elevators from parking garage to units. The loading zone is a little far from the units because there is a pond that you have to walk around.
Nearby walking distance to everything even with a baby stroller!
- Suzanne (8/5): - Great location! Was away from the noise and hustle of the village but still a short walk to village
- Fiona L. (8/5): Close to village - Close to village and steps to shuttle. Surprisingly quiet!
- cathy (6/5): - Convenient location, but property is older. Enjoyed the free parking for pricy whistler.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice 2br / 2bth condo. A little older but more than adequate and well located right across the road from the Marketplace and Mt Currie coffee (the best coffee in Whistler) Free parking is a definite plus in Whistler also.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - location of unit was terrific, place was clean and well stocked with kitchen items. Place was quiet.
There was quite a distance between where we checked in and out compared to where the place was, and we were confused at first.
I have mobility issues and was not expecting all the stairs--out of the parking area and up to the unit.
- ERIC (10/5): Village North - Great location in the North part of the village. Many shops and restaurants in a short walking distance.
- Ariel (10/5): Worth it - Very clean and spacious — definitely worth it!
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect for our family! - The place is like homey style and made the stay comfortable. It suits our family’s needs and it’s close to everything!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was a great location. Spacious and homey. Will definitly stay again.
- Judy K. (8/5): Comfortable, great location, good price. - This apartment was perfect for our family of 4. The kitchen knives were so dull they couldn't cut butter, but other than that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We will definitely book again!
- Dennis J. (8/5): Very good but expensive. - The stay at this location (the Lagoons) I would rate as very good. The actual apartment/ condo was quite nice ... in that Whistler 90's (almost time for a re-do) kind of way. If you've ever stayed anywhere in Whistler you would know the look. Beige colours, a little dated pine furniture. .... but the place was very clean and tidy, no issues in that regard. It did have 3 floors so it's not a big "one floor" place. But no biggy. The location was good but a bit of a walk up to the main core village and lift chairs .... but a bus route is right outside the door. We walked ... and it's about 10-15 minutes. It is close to the grocery store and liquor store though ... which was good. I didn't realize it when I booked but it came with its own 4-5 person hot tub, a nice gas fireplace and free parking (which can easily be $25-$30 a night extra at other places). I also didn't realize it when I booked but Easter/Passover was a bit earlier this year fell on the 4 days of our trip. Usually we come the following week. So prices (air flight and hotels) were higher than the week after Easter. Or at least seemed that way. I searched hard and this place was our best option when booking 3 weeks before the trip (my bad). Our 4 day stay was right around $2000. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom unit. It slept 5 comfortably and would sleep 6 just as easy. The main floor (kitchen/dinning table/living room isn't huge but it's ok. Which ain't cheap but was quite nice and did do the job. The kicker was ..... when I looked at my VISA bill a few weeks later .... tHe room is billed in US dollars. So the $2000 room bill turned into the $2600 room bill. Ouch, .... but again .... my bad for not reading the fine print. A great trip but if we went the week after I bet we could have trimmed 25-30% minimum off of the whole trip (flights and accomodaion) .... and the restaurants wouldn't have had such long wait lists.
- Ivy (6/5): - This is a condo complex, the noise was too much. parties all over the place ( nothing wrong with that, just not until 5 am) .:(
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My partner and I booked a one bedroom unit for Labour Day weekend. It's by no means fancy, with no room service and housekeeping being an extra charge, but fancy wasn't our goal. Our place of stay was far enough from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants, yet within walking distance of IGA and the liquor store. We like to cook and were there to relax for our two nights and escape from Vancouver so this was perfect for us! The apartment unit was ground level and had a very well-equipped kitchen (lots of plates and utensils, salt/pepper, coffee maker, dishwasher, etc.), a bathtub with a Jacuzzi, a bedroom with an air conditioner and doors leading to a porch, speakers, and a washer and dryer for longer stays. There was also a communal pool but we didn't use it; it's mainly for kids since it's fairly shallow. The unit was clean except for some dust and a spiderweb or two hidden in some corners, but to us that was minor compared to all the pros. The staff at the front desk, which is about a ten minute walk away, were pleasant and concise. We would definitely stay with Whistler Premier again and would without a doubt recommend them to our friends!
- charlie (4/5): Far from the lifts. - Charm free condo, with very small master bedroom. Second bedroom with double bed and bunk bed much more roomy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice units - Can't beat location, units are very convinient for family and groups. It is fully equipped in the kitchen for one meal of the day, the units are big, two rooms one leaving room, fire place, beds are regular but we all slept very well all nights, i will go again next year.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The condo was very nice.
- I would come back to the same condo. A very nice experience.
- petra (4/5): - Lodge was OK but they DESTROYED my snowboard without any compensation. Kinda depressing ending of our holiday.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Outskirts of Village North - We booked with Whistler Premier North as there was very little availability for the weekend. I believe this is a property management company that books privately owned units in a rental pool. Therefore, you don't know exactly what you are getting or where until you check in. There are various properties they manage that are all on the outskirts of the popular areas.
The unit itself was very spacious but the beds were uncomfortable. My son is a college student living in dorms and never complains about any sleeping accommodations; he said the unit was trash. This is a child who willingly sleeps on a couch or floor cuz he can sleep anywhere. For him to complain about the comfort is really saying something.
When we checked in, he had to put a $500 deposit hold on our credit card. I have yet to see how that resolves itself. I did go to the check in location (Blackcomb Lodge) to inquire as to the sensitivity of damage claims as there were numerous wall dings, counter blemishes, broken racks, loose cabinets doors, etc. I took pictures in the event they try to pin any of this preexisting damage on us. I also reported the dripping bathroom faucet and spinning shower control. It was very difficult to figure out how to get hot water as the shower faucet would spin clear around and around.
There are posted quiet hours from 10 pm but we had a very loud group going at it Friday night well past 10 pm. They eventually quieted down sometime near 11 pm.
- thomas (4/5): If problems are fixed, this would be fine. - This is a condo unit, not a hotel room. Unfortunately though we hoped for a 1 bedroom, only this studio was available. The murphy bed was damaged and did not open properly. The room is arranged so the couch (a narrow sofa-bed) and other furniture must be crammed into the end of the room by the gas fireplace to open the bed. We were just a couple with a 2nd grade child, but it was still too crowded with the layout - very difficult to walk from kitchen to bathroom with the bed open, and since it was broken, we didn't dare close it. The cleanliness was poor - toenail clippings on the carpet under the furniture we had to move to open the bed. Hotel staff was very kind and reasonably responsive. We have stayed in other units in this condo complex in the past, but not managed by the hotel. If they fix the bed and clean better, this would be a fine place for a flexible couple or a single. IT is just across the street from the free shuttle bus to the ski lifts and about 1 block from the big grocery store in Whistler Village.
- Jamie (8/5): Clean hotel near whistler village marketplace - AG-508 was a clean hotel that worked for our needs with a family of 4. Tight living space located across the street from the marketplace. If you don't plan to stay in your hotel for long stretches during the day, it works wonderfully. The worst hassle was the off premise check in and out...3 blocks away. Key card swiping in during early/later hours was spotty. Front desk of the hotel was not very helpful since the room is managed elsewhere...and the staff hours were quite short. Other than that, the lodge functioned as a good home base to sleep, eat a home cooked breakfast and keep our things safe and secure. Bus stop to the village was close by when we didn't want to make the 10 minute "stroll" to the lifts. All in all a pretty good experience for the cost.
- DOMINIC (4/5): No Frills. - It's a no frills hotel. Wasn't expecting much, but got to my room and found my King size bed had two single sized duvets for the blanket... Haha weird eh? Called down for a king duvet blanket but couldn't get one until the second night. Oh and they only clean your room once a week just FYI!
- Nora (8/5): Good price and location. - It's a 1 bedroom suite with in-suite laundry, so don't expect there will be people cleaning up the room every day. Good price and location with secured underground parking. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It's really a small room with not really small price. 4 persons ( two adult two kids) got no space to stay in.
- Rosie (8/5): Great location...once you can find it! - I am still a little unclear about the situation with this "hotel." Don't get me wrong, once I got there I enjoyed my stay tremendously but the hotel comes up as "Whistler Premier Village North" which is something no one in Whistler has heard of. The address listed is "Various Locations" and I was never clear where I was supposed to check in. I finally stumbled upon the Blackcomb Lodge to simply ask where this Whistler Premier Village North was, jokingly saying, "Which doesn't apparently exist," and the nice girl at the front desk said, "You're right, it doesn't... but you found us!" Uh, what? Again, still not clear what happened there but it's a good idea to call the number listed to confirm where to go as they may have several properties. As an American, my phone wasn't working in Canada but even getting on wifi and calling the number on Skype proved unsuccessful. All that aside, once I got there it was a nice place. Nothing fancy and the walls are thin (and the AC didn't work which probably isn't a problem 99% of the year but I happened to be there during a heat wave) but the rooms are very spacious, there's a full kitchen and the Blackcomb Lodge is right across from the grocery store in the main village so you can eat more cheaply there than in the local restaurants. You can't beat the location if you end up in the main village like I did. Lovely staff. Wifi actually was not great either but I try to disconnect when I'm on vacation anyway. I'd stay there again.
- Peter (4/5): Bad hotel but close to the shopping strets - The ac didn't work
the room hadn't been painted in 20 years
And the staff being a property management company couldn't do any thing for us
Which we didn't know about when we booked as it was through the unpublished rates
- Aaron (10/5): Great condo. quiet location. close to village. - With Whistler Premier i had an all round good experience with my place of stay. Customer service was good. I got to stay in a condo. Which was a nice step from the usual hotel room. So it came with a kitchen, balcony and a washer/ dryer. The condo was a single room. The living room/bedroom was all in one. Had a fold up bed from the wall. Not a big issue just means I had to move a few pieces of furniture around to make room to use bed. For the tv was about 32-36 inch flat screen tv with basic cable. Good enough for me. Had a fair sized bathroom. Bathtub came equipped with water jets. I'm glad my room was a short distance from village. Condo lodge had a 10 pm rule for keeping quiet. So didn't have to deal with howling people thankfully. All round would recommend this place to anyone staying in Whistler!
- Christine (8/5): Nice hotel in a central location. - Enjoyable weekend in Whistler. Good weather and wonderful accommodation.
- world traveller (6/5): good price but problems - Hotel room smells and looks old. Kitchen stove vent blows cooking odors into the room, and rooms are right above the bar/club. It's centrally located in North Village but spa is across the village walk. It's a shared spa with other lodges.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel In The Heart of Whistler Village - Would stay at Blackcomb Lodge again. Hotel in a great location and clean. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Short walk to Whistler / Blackcomb gondolas and to shops / restaurants. Mountain is amazing and snowboarding was even better. Room could be in a little better condition - carpeting was ripped and there were gauges in the wood furniture, but otherwise clean. Room had all the amenities necessary to be comfortable (flat screen TV, DVD player, free wi-fi, full kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, dishware, cutlery, pots/pans, etc.). HOWEVER, the room should not matter because when in Whistler, BC, one should never stay in their hotel room, except to sleep.
- Nick (8/5): Ski Trip - Great location in the village, We stayed 7 nights a great room for us and our 9 year old with single beds upstairs, A bit of noise from partygoers on a night but not too much of a problem after we got used to it after the first night. Good to have a kitchenette.
- Kyle (6/5): Read the small print - Booked this condo for a few days in whistler. We wanted to stay in the heart of whistler village and did not mind paying more for a great location. The location on the map displayed on hotels.com shows it being next to crystal lodge near everything. You have to go here to check in and then Once we checked in they informed us our room was in an entirely different location a mile plus away. We stayed in glacier creek which is about the furthest away we could be from the village. Very disappointed with our stay and feel very mislead by hotels.com
Parking is additional!!!
Wifi works 25% of the time
No working fireplace!!
- Roman (10/5): Great location. Great Staff. - Great location and great staff.
Room however needed these items:
Needed more towels (for 2 bedroom suite, had only 2 large towels and two small towels), which did not get replaced every day.
Needed WIFI password, was not provided, even thou router was right there by tv.
Needed clearer directions as to where lockers and hot tubs are located. Had to find out ourselves.
- michelle (2/5): alpenglow lodge a very unsastified stay - My room was nothing like I had booked the microwave didn't work we were having toilet issues somebody was suppose to come and check it out and call me we didn't even here from anybody at all the pool was also out of commission not very happy at all with my stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay overall - convenient, comfortable, tv is too old, bed is too soft
- Udo (6/5): - The location was perfect but unfortunately the guest laundry was absolutley dirty if not to say filthy. The staff on the reception did not make you wellcome and the damage bond taken on your arrival will take five days to be transferred back to your credit account.not sure why that is as this was to be an inprint only and not deducted from your credit card already . We also did not appreciate to have to pay for parking as we feel that should be part of the deal
- konaleona (6/5): Lots of stairs in Glacier Reach - There were a lot of stairs that we had to negotiate to get to the apartment and then three more flights within it. We managed with our large suitcases but for the less fit or senior citizens, it would be a huge challenge. The sofa cushions were pretty disgusting but we opened up the sofa bed and used the linen from the upstairs bedroom to cover exposed areas. I think it is a pretty intelligent design and do-able for younger people. Everything was very clean except the sofa; and the kitchen was well equipped even with a dishwasher. After the first night of first impressions, we felt very comfortable and at home. Like I said everything is clean and functional, the balconies off the 2nd and 3rd floor are good for looking at the night sky with the sensation of being safe anytime of the night you go out there. Basically, if you are 2 YOUNG couples who like to travel together and save money, this is a very great deal. We are middleaged and we enjoyed our stay here... after our initial shock. Close to grocery store and Village stroll which is the quieter part of Whistler. Stay in Whistler Village North like we did if you don't like the crowds.
- Lana (8/5): Great location! - We stayed at Blockcomb Lodge which is right beside the tourist information booth. A market, liquor store, drug store, coffee shop, bike rental, and restaurants were within 300 steps of the door to the lodge. Our room was a modern kitchenette with up to date furnishings and a comfortable king size bed. Very clean and everything was in good condition. We made use of the guest laundry. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Large Chain Hotel in Whistler - Pleasant staff, clean basic room with kitchenette, cool side of hotel during hot weather - - great! Room service on second of three nights only.
- Christina P. (10/5): - We stayed at the Horstman House in Blackcomb, it was very nice, clean and well kept. The room was very nice and the pool area was awesome! We will definitely go back again sometime soon!!
- Henry (8/5): Stayed right in the middle of the village. - its a little weird because you don't really know where you are staying until you arrive. That said, it ended up being right in the middle of the village. We walked everywhere and didn't use the car until we were ready to go. The room is very comfortable but the place is dated if that is an issue.
- Amit (10/5): Great summer Stay - Stayed 2 nights at the Deer Lodge and Eagle Lodge with Family. Wished the rooms were closer together as we were traveling with family but remember this is not a hotel but rather condos-style rentals so its based on availability. Toilet had an issue the first night but was quickly resolved the following morning. Size of the 2 bedroom suite was enough for the 5-6 people we had in each room. Location was in the center of the North Whistler Village. Front desk staff was very accommodating and saved our trip as we didn't bring enough umbrellas, the loaned up theirs and allowed us to roam around despite the rain that set in. Overall, very pleased given the price we paid and location and would recommend to friends and stay there myself again.
- yusheng (6/5): good location - good location, but noisy at midnight
